Our virtual online auction, Trunks & Treasures, is back! Starting on June 13 and running for 10 days, all proceeds will go toward the costs of relocating Kenya and Tamy—the last two elephants at the Mendoza Ecoparque in Argentina. Join us here: www.globalelephants.org/trunksandtreasures and bid on charming elephant items, purchase gifts for the Girls, and—if you're a U.S. resident—buy one or more entries for a chance to win the prize of a lifetime: a 3-day trip with one guest to the sanctuary! We also delve deeper into Pupy's journey of self-discovery and how she is healing both physically and emotionally from decades of unnatural captivity. The abundance and vastness of the sanctuary grounds are unveiling Pupy's true spirit, which she continues to discover each day.The episode transcript can be found here.Email: We'd love to hear from you podcast@globalelephants.orgWho we are: Global Sanctuary for Elephants exists to create vast, safe spaces for captive elephants, where they are able to heal physically and emotionally. There are elephants around the world in need of sanctuary, but too few places exist to be able to care for even a fraction of the elephants. Transparency in our work can be both a blessing and a challenge. This week, we catch up with Kat in Brazil and Scott in Argentina, where he is assisting both Kenya's (Mendoza) and Pupy's (Buenos Aires) caregiver teams with relocation training. Kat and Scott share how the introduction of a chain in Pupy's crate training has raised concerns among even long-time supporters. We also discuss why sedating an elephant during transport is not an option for GSE.The challenges of Tamy's situation are discussed in more detail. His enclosure is too small to accommodate both the crate and the necessary space for training. This limitation poses significant hurdles, as he is in a pit surrounded by high and thick concrete walls. The urgency of his situation is understood by all involved at the eco-park.The episode transcript can be found here.Email: We'd love to hear from you podcast@globalelephants.orgWho we are: Global Sanctuary for Elephants exists to create vast, safe spaces for captive elephants, where they are able to heal physically and emotionally. In this week's episode, we catch up on events at Ecoparque Mendoza in Argentina, where female African elephant Kenya has received a significant new item: her transport crate! Marcos, one of GSE's caregivers, is on-site, preparing and training Kenya for her upcoming journey to Elephant Sanctuary Brazil.Kat also declares her love for Tamy, the male Asian elephant destined for his forever home at the sanctuary. However, his training presents several challenges, including determining a suitable training location within the zoo, as his current habitat is inadequate. More importantly, GSE needs to find a caregiver committed to spending three months in Argentina to build trust with Tamy.

Back in late August, I sat down to have a flowing, juicy conversation with the wise, down-to-Earth Tamy Roloff (herbal tea seller, coach, midwife, mother and grandmother) around aliveness and aging; and more specifically the question: is it inevitable that we settle in to die with little excitement or joy for the future beyond retirement prospects? Along the way, we also explore: spirituality; plants as friends; ancestral ways and animism; women's life cycles and seasons; how being a woman is often framed as a negative thing and other ways we might be able see it; pain avoidance, mindset, and how that affects our ability to find pleasure and our own rhythms; community and living counter-culturally; travel and how it opens us to other ways of seeing ourselves and the world; possible benefits to loneliness; self-trust; …and more. Join us around the fire? You're most welcome here. _____________________ And if you've come for Tamy, I hope you'll stick around for more conversations exploring the question: in dehumanizing times, what might help us stay human and be more fully alive? I just loved my conversation with Dr. Tamy Faireman. Dr. Tamy, a former plastic and reconstructive surgeon for over 25 years now refers to herself as a SOUL surgeon, which could not be more fitting for the work she has become so passionate about. We had an amazing discussion about mindfulness and what that means and how we go about “getting” there. We talked about so much including how she now supports women in a very different and powerful way. We hear so much about mindfulness and since the pandemic, the term gets thrown around endlessly. But do you find time to cultivate and explore this? If you are feeling as though you want more out of life, if you feel stuck, if you feel defeated or perhaps out of balance, then you will want to listen to this podcast. Dr. Tamy has an absolutely wonderful way about her and I know that you will love listening Learn more about Tamy and her work.

Ściana stanowi fundament, a mimo to, projektując wnętrza, często ją pomijamy.

Sick. Co pamiętasz z zeszłego tygodnia? Dlaczego akurat te rzeczy, a nie inne? The post #217 Dlaczego pamiętamy niektóre rzeczy, a inne nie? – rozmowa z badaczką pamięci Oliwią Zaborowską first appeared on Z pasją o mocnych stronach i intencjonalnym działaniu.
During a writing conference where I served as a faculty member, Tamy handed me a postcard with a handwritten prayer on the back. She explained that she read the faculty biographies, wrote specific prayers on each card, and prayed as she delivered them to us. In awe over the details in her personal message to me, I thanked God for encouraging me through Tamy’s gesture. Then I prayed for her in return. When I struggled with pain and fatigue during the conference, I pulled out the postcard. The Lord refreshed my spirit as I reread Tamy’s note. The apostle Paul recognized the life-affirming impact of prayer for others. He urged believers to prepare for battle “against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). He encouraged ongoing and specific prayers, while emphasizing the need to intervene for one another in what we call intercessory prayer. Paul also requested bold prayers on his behalf. “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly made known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains” (vv. 19–20). As we pray for one another, the Holy Spirit comforts us and strengthens our resolve. He affirms that we need Him and one another, assuring us that He hears every prayer—silent, spoken, or scribbled on a prayer card—and He answers according to His perfect will.
When we hear stories we can relate to, it brings hope that healing is possible for us. In the sixth installment of our Stories of Hope and Healing, Tami shares the stories of three recent graduates of the Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor® program. During the program, these women improved their fibromyalgia symptoms by an average of 51% in only three months. That's right in line with the improvement we typically see with our graduates. What would your life look like if you cut your symptoms in half? What could you do that you can't do now? Today's graduates prove that you can go beyond your limitations once you know them. Today you'll hear from three real people who have fibromyalgia about their experiences. They share their history with fibro, why they decided to join the program, and the impact it's had on their lives. In this episode, Tami interviews graduates Kerstin, Laura and Tamy and they share the differences between listening to the podcast and being a part of the classes in the Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor® program, why working with a coach made all the difference for Kerstin, what it was like for Kerstin - a fitness coach herself - to be coached, why Kerstin fired her doctor, the fibro knowledge and personal choices that brought about Kerstin's 10% improvement in her symptoms, the supplements that have helped Kerstin on her healing journey, Kertin's top two tips, Tamy's experience feeling stuck on the struggle bus, how the program helped Tamy reconnect with her authenticity as a wellness coach, why getting vulnerable was a crucial element in Tamy's fibro journey, what it means to build your fibro team, recognizing that it's normal for your needs to evolve along your healing journey, working through self-care guilt, the factors that helped Tamy to decrease her severe symptoms by 51%, dealing with breast implant illness alongside fibromyalgia, Tamy's message to other people who feel like they're on the struggle bus, why Laura took the Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor® program a second time, why Laura decided that going forward she wants to have a coach for the long haul, budgeting your time and making the space to care for yourself so you can live the life you want, the elements that helped Laura to improve her symptoms by 75%, acknowledging that many of us need external accountabilty, and more. Tami's wish is that hearing their stories will give you some new ideas you can take back and share with your doctors and some encouragement and hope that you can feel better too.

This episode is about discerning intuition from fear-based thoughts. Today's caller, Tamy, doubts herself and uses constant learning as a compensatory strategy when she may not have fully integrated the information she has already gathered. If you have ever wondered if your feelings are fear-based or truly your intuition, or struggle with self-doubt, this is a great session to tune into. [For show notes, go here: Christinehassler.com/episode329] We often try to compensate for our self-doubts by people-pleasing, caretaking, obsessing about how we look, or being on a constant train of achieving or learning. Too much learning can be compensation for where we feel self-doubt. You can be in radical self-acceptance or confidence, and still know there are things you are practicing and integrating. When we truly listen to our intuition and when we are on track with our personal development work, we stay aligned. We won't get on an ego-driven path. Ego-based success and compensatory success are houses of cards. And, that is what we fear because we can start to feel like a fraud. We feel as if we could lose everything. If you listen to your intuition, you will stay on a path of success that is sustainable. Start paying more attention to how your intuition works. Start with little things. Intuition comes in more clearly when we are not distracted. The less we distract ourselves with thoughts of self-worth, validation, and acceptance the more space our intuition has to present itself. Consider/Ask Yourself: Do you sometimes wonder if the information you're getting or if the thoughts you are having are your intuition or fear? Are you addicted to learning, always believing there is more you need to learn? Do you doubt yourself or struggle with self-acceptance? Do you have a fear of success; not just failure, but a bit of fear of success? Tamy's Question: Tamy wants to know how to recognize and trust her intuition and get rid of self-doubt. Tamy's Key Insights and Ahas: She is an intuitive person. She fears taking action. She has developed ways to rely on herself. She judges herself and doubts her abilities. She feels she doesn't know enough. She has higher standards for herself than she does for others. She has been chronically learning without leaving time for integration. She fears success. How to Get Over It and On With It: Listen to her intuition and consider where she is being guided next. Consider how her thoughts make her feel. If it makes her feel fear it is not her intuition. Respond to the guidance she gets. Takeaways: Journal about what would happen if you are successful. Start with ‘If I am successful then…' and see what comes up for you.
