“You can have a grudge or you can have freedom—but you can't have both.” — Lora Cheadle When betrayal detonates your life, “It's not fair” becomes the drumbeat in your head. In this intimate coaching session with “Jane,” we walk the real path from righteous anger and blame to sovereignty: naming what's actually happening (mental/physical exhaustion), discerning what you can control (boundaries, micro-choices), and choosing peace over the power of the grudge. If you've been holding the story together for your kids, your home, and everyone else—while seething at the unequal load—this conversation will meet you exactly where you are and offer a way through. Top 3 Takeaways Grudge vs. Freedom: You can have a grudge or you can have freedom—but not both. The shift begins by noticing when you're in blame and choosing peace on purpose. Name the Real Problem: Trade the story (“This is all his fault”) for the truth in your body (“This is mentally and physically exhausting”). Naming what is puts your power where your feet are. Micro-Choices Restore Agency: One firm “no” a week and one nourishing “yes” a week for six weeks changes your nervous system, your schedule, and your sense of self. Episode Highlights Why anger is sometimes a functional fuel—and how to thank it without letting it drive. The fairness myth: differentiating external unfairness from creating internal justice. “Give him the victim seat.” If someone must occupy it, let it be him—so you can choose the seat of peace. Language swap that changes everything: from “I have to” → “I am choosing to.” A simple boundary: “Please stop texting me.” Why this one sentence matters for your nervous system and your future.

“Just because you make the final decision does not mean you were the cause.” — Lora Cheadle “Healing” gets thrown around a lot—but in real life it's messy, non-linear, and humbling. In this intimate conversation, Lora and healer/mentor Wendi (formerly of the Chopra Center; now on the Lee Harris team) unpack what healing actually looks like after infidelity, health crises, and identity rupture—and why your “opening” matters more than any timeline. If you've ever wondered, Why don't I feel better yet? Am I doing this wrong?—this episode is for you. Lora and Wendi reveal the lived truth of recovery: three steps forward, two back; grief cycling; learning to receive; and choosing yourself even when others don't approve. You'll hear how meditation created space beyond the mind, why the body never lies, how community can “hold the frequency” when you can't, and the liberating shift from I am my story to I write my story. Expect practical reframes you can use today—especially if you're a high-achieving woman who's tired of doing it all alone. Top 3 Takeaways Healing is non-linear (and normal). Think Chutes & Ladders, not a straight line. You'll revisit layers like grief, anger, and acceptance—and that doesn't mean you're failing. Humility opens the door. Letting go of the “if I do everything right, bad things won't happen” myth creates room for curiosity, compassion, and real change. You're allowed to choose you. Boundaries, receiving support, and rewriting the narrative are acts of power. Your agency—not other people's opinions—defines your direction. Episode Highlights The “opening”: the moment you realize you can author a different story than the one you were handed. From people-pleasing to permission: upsetting others vs. honoring your inner yes. Mind-Body-Spirit integration: why meditation quiets the narrative so the body's intelligence can be heard. Community as medicine: when you can't hold the frequency, let safe containers hold it for you. Identity shifts: you are not your past roles (spouse, fixer, PTA star, marathoner); you are the one choosing what's next. Resources Mentioned Group meditation & mantra practice (Chopra Center origins) Lee Harris retreats/“Soul Magic” weekends Nature as regulation (beach, trees, grounding) A Course in Miracles prompt: “Am I willing to see this differently?” About Wendi With contagious joy and heart, all that Wendi Cohen offers is with the intention of healthy change. She has been a dynamic and instrumental force helping people from all over the world as an educator and mentor in the field of spirituality and wellness. Highly regarded for her many years at the Chopra Center for Wellbeing, she managed and facilitated their signature program, Perfect Health. Working with Dr. Deepak Chopra and being involved with cutting edge research in meditation and Ayurveda there, Wendi has been up close and personal with the brightest minds in the wellness industry. Now working with Lee Harris Energy, she is the Director of Studio Operations and a producer who uses her creative prowess, intuition and vision to support transformational work. What makes her special in this field, is that she found meditation and mindfulness on her own path to healing after being diagnosed with a rare and chronic illness in 2003. Her insatiable curiosity and ability to think outside of the box led her to looking at integrative approaches. That is when she had profound shifts in her health and also fell in love with meditation. As a result of her journey, Wendi has a deep capacity to understand the many challenges people face when looking at healing and transformation. She is also a board certified Integrative NLP Practitioner and trained in Authentic Communication. Being of service is when Wendi is the happiest - supporting people so they feel more peaceful, clear, and grounded, experiencing more love and inspiration in their lives is what lights her up. Her mantra is "follow the fun" and that is EXACTLY what she hopes to inspire in others. The Humility of Healing..... By Wendi Cohen Healing is often a misunderstood journey that reveals lessons in humility and the chance for deep learning, uncovering aspects of ourselves, if and only if, we are willing to look at them. By allowing and receiving, staying open and getting creative, thinking with our hearts while feeling our bodies, there can be some profound shifts in how we experience the challenge - whether it is physical, emotional or heart based. In my case, it was learning to navigate a new 'normal' after a life-changing diagnosis that rocked my world. My path has been messy while stunningly beautiful, scary and empowering - filled with moments I'd never ever want to revisit AND also so many moments of being the recipient of so much love and generosity, from unexpected places. When we have a better understanding that healing isn't necessarily linear - that it can be like a game of chutes and ladders or riding a roller coaster that takes your breath away, heart opening and heart breaking - but with the infusion of creativity, receptivity, a sense of humor and beginning new each day, it can become less jarring. Now twenty years later, to have had the good fortune to learn and then work with some of the most extraordinary visionaries, teachers, healers, and with my clients, I am truly humbled by it all - the good, the challenging and what has yet to come. Favorite Quote “Healing isn't something you do once and finish. It's the willingness to meet yourself again and again—with humility, curiosity, and love.” — Wendi

““Just because you make the final decision does not mean you were the cause.” — Lora Cheadle Terrified you'll make the wrong move and “blow up” your life—even though you didn't cause the betrayal? In this episode, Lora Cheadle breaks down why smart, high-achieving women get stuck in analysis paralysis after infidelity and how to shift from panic to self-trust. Learn to spot fight/flight/freeze/fawn (fix), regulate your nervous system in minutes, and make clear decisions you won't regret. You'll also get a powerful responsibility reframe (final decision ≠ cause) plus Lora's unforgettable “dog-poop on the carpet” analogy to help you choose the right next step—therapy, coaching, or pause—without fear of “messing it up.” Perfect for women ready to reclaim their voice, their worth, and their future. Top 3 Takeaways Regulate before you decide: Identify fight/flight/freeze/fawn and use quick somatic resets to bring your thinking brain back online. Final decision ≠ cause: Choosing divorce—or staying—doesn't mean you “blew it up.” Accountability stays with the betrayer. “Know who you're dealing with before you seek closure. Can you be okay with every possible reaction? If not, don't set yourself up for more harm.” — Dr. Gary McClain “If I could just get closure…” How many times have you said those words after betrayal, breakup, or loss? In this powerful episode of FLAUNT!, Lora Cheadle sits down with Dr. Gary McClain—psychotherapist, relationship coach, and author of The Power of Closure: Why We Want It, How to Get It, and When to Walk Away. Together, they unravel the myths about closure, why we crave it, and the surprising ways it can either heal or harm us. From ghosting to infidelity, narcissistic partners to unspoken endings, you'll learn how to stop chasing the fairytale ending and start creating compassionate closure—whether or not the other person is willing to participate. This is the episode that will change the way you think about “the end” forever. Top 3 Takeaways Closure isn't always what you think it is. Sometimes it's not about a neat ending—it's about validating yourself, choosing compassion, and walking away whole. Intentions matter. Before seeking closure, ask yourself: Do I want understanding, forgiveness, to be “right,” or to hurt them back? Your intention determines your outcome. You don't always need them to heal. Even if the betrayer refuses contact (or is unavailable), you can find closure by processing your grief, reconnecting with yourself, and embracing life again. “Closure doesn't always come from them—it often comes from choosing yourself.” – Lora Cheadle

Knowledge & Injury of Betrayal: How Truth Becomes Justice After Infidelity “The knowledge is what hurt me. The knowledge is also what saved me. Justice began when I chose truth and stopped betraying myself.” – Lora Cheadle What exactly was injured by betrayal—the body, the bank account, your heart, or your reality? In this powerful episode, Lora reframes the “injury” of infidelity and reveals why knowledge is both what hurts and what heals. Former attorney and betrayal recovery coach Lora Cheadle guides you through a rare lens on infidelity: damages and justice. Drawing on litigation concepts (compensation, wrongful death, restitution), she asks the unaskable: If you hadn't known, would you have been hurt? From STDs and financial losses to shattered expectations and gaslighting, Lora shows how the knowledge of betrayal creates the sharpest pain—and how that same knowledge becomes your path to truth, agency, and inner justice. You'll leave with precise journaling prompts, somatic supports, and a brave new definition of being “made whole.” Top 3 Takeaways Name the real injury: Beyond physical and financial harm, betrayal injures perception—your story of self, partner, and past. Knowledge is the wound that reveals the truth. Justice starts inside: Courts price damages in dollars; your healing prices them in truth, boundaries, self-respect, and choice. External amends help—but inner justice completes the repair. From martyr to sovereign: Stop abandoning yourself. Make and keep unbroken promises to you—sleep, nourishment, movement, time, money, voice—and take what you need to heal.

“Sensations are the language of the nervous system. When you notice—and stay with—the feeling, the cycle completes and your system comes back to safety.” -- Laurie James When betrayal scrambles your nervous system, healing isn't just “mindset”—it's body-based. In this episode, we unpack somatic, practical ways to calm panic, prevent shutdown, and rebuild your capacity so you can make clear decisions and feel safe again. Betrayal shocks the body as much as the mind. Lora talks with somatic practitioner and coach Laurie James about nervous system regulation after infidelity—what “somatic” really means, how polyvagal states show up (ventral vagal, sympathetic, dorsal), and simple practices that help you come out of anxiety, numbness, or overwhelm. You'll learn how to complete the stress cycle, set body boundaries, and create five-minute rituals that expand your capacity without adding more to your plate. Whether you're staying, leaving, or still deciding, these tools help you feel safer now—so you can choose your next step from clarity, not crisis. Top 3 Takeaways Know your state to change your state. Learn the cues of ventral (present/connected), sympathetic (fight/flight), and dorsal (shutdown). Naming your state reduces shame and gives you a map back to safety. Small pockets > big pushes. Micro-practices (5 minutes to ground, orient, breathe, feel sensations) complete the stress cycle and build capacity—so you can handle life with more ease and fewer blowups. Somatic ≠ “just think positive.” 80% of information travels from body to brain; regulation starts in the body. Gentle, titrated work prevents re-traumatization and supports wiser decisions during hard conversations, mediation, or reconciliation. About Laurie James — Somatic Practitioner & Life Coach Laurie James is a mother, divorcée, recovering caregiver turned author, somatic relationship coach, and podcaster. Laurie's podcast, Confessions of a Freebird, was inspired by her youngest of four children leaving the nest and is the sequel to her book, Sandwiched: A Memoir of Holding On and Letting Go. Laurie's book is about her journey from loneliness to finding belonging during a time when she was raising four teenage daughters, her mother had a heart attack and needed care, all while her marriage began to crumble. Now Laurie helps women divorce, heal, and date differently in midlife. She blends her coaching and somatic training to help her clients develop a better relationship with their bodies and nervous system. Doing so allows them to find the inner freedom to experience more happiness, joy and create the life they desire. When she is not coaching clients or podcasting, she can be found nurturing her free spirit by walking her dog, skiing, sailing, hiking, spending time with close friends or planning her next adventure. “An anniversary after betrayal doesn't have to be a day of despair — it can become a day of choice, truth, and self-reclamation.” – Lora Wondering what to do with your wedding anniversary after infidelity or betrayal? Whether you're still together, separated, or unsure, anniversaries can feel like emotional landmines. This episode gives you the clarity, options, and healing tools to reclaim the day as yours. In this powerful episode of FLAUNT!, betrayal recovery coach Lora Cheadle unpacks why anniversaries after an affair feel so painful (hint: broken expectations) and shares practical and soulful ways to face the date. From choosing to skip it, reframing it as your milestone, creating rituals of release, to transforming it with your partner, you'll discover how to honor your grief while reclaiming your agency. Lora weaves in real stories—including her own 30th anniversary, healing rituals like bridge crossings, and how she reframed the day with a heart-shaped diamond flamingo ring engraved with FLAUNT—to show you how an anniversary can become a moment of choice, truth, and self-celebration. Top 3 Takeaways: Why anniversaries hurt after betrayal: How ruptured expectations and old coping defaults trigger grief, anger, and overwhelm. Four healthy ways to navigate the day: Skip it, reframe it for yourself, transform it with ritual, or use it as a practical step toward reclaiming your life. Healing tools that work: Boundaries (“I'm not ready to celebrate” is a complete sentence), somatic practices, journaling, and rituals that help you transform despair into empowerment.

But in reality, it's the beginning of one of life's most emotionally enriching phases. In this inspiring episode, Dr. Deborah Heiser—host of The After 40 Podcast and founder of The Mentor Project—reframes aging and empty nesting as opportunities for growth, connection, and fulfillment. While society often emphasizes physical decline with age this period of "generativity versus stagnation" is a prime time to give back—through mentoring, creating, exploring, or sharing our wisdom. From passing down family recipes to guiding new community members, mentorship enriches both mentor and mentee, creating a ripple of connection and purpose.Highlights & Key Takeaways:Our physical decline doesn't define our emotional or spiritual growth; it continues upward throughout life. The empty nest phase opens up mental and emotional bandwidth for purpose-driven living.Midlife is an ideal time to give back—whether through mentoring, sharing knowledge, or exploring new interests.Mentoring creates purpose and satisfaction for both mentor and mentee, fostering connection that money can't buy.Deborah Heiser BioDeborah Heiser, Ph.D., is an Applied Developmental Psychologist, a TEDx speaker, consultant, author, and Founder of The Mentor Project, and an Adjunct Professor in the Psychology Department at SUNY Old Westbury. She has been quoted in The New York Times, Seattle Times, Dallas Times and contributes to Psychology Today. “Pain may explain behavior, but it never justifies harm.” — Lora Cheadle What's really going on inside the mindset of a cheating man? Why do men betray the ones they love—and then create endless justifications for cheating? In this episode, betrayal recovery coach Lora Cheadle exposes the truth: cheating is never about you. It's about their fragile need for validation, their desire to numb pain, their sense of entitlement, and unresolved trauma. By breaking down the difference between reasons and justifications, and unpacking shocking statistics about infidelity, this conversation frees you from shame and isolation. Because while cheating may be explainable, it is never justifiable. Top 3 Takeaways: The shocking truth about justification: Cheaters don't give reasons—they invent justifications to make themselves feel okay about doing something they know is wrong. This changes everything about how you interpret what he says. Cheating as numbing, not desire: Affairs aren't about attraction or sex. They're often about avoiding failure, loneliness, or unresolved pain. Cheating is a maladaptive coping strategy—another way to not feel. The delusional mindset revealed: From childhood trauma to fragile egos, many cheating men live in a self-created fantasy world where betrayal feels “necessary.” Understanding this breaks the shame cycle and helps you reclaim your power. How do you find purpose, passion, and fulfillment in this new phase of life?In this inspiring episode, Dr. Janelle explains the two stages of human development: the unconscious “boot camp” where we seek external validation, and the conscious “creating heaven on earth” phase, where we connect deeply with our hearts.
