It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma speak with Krystal Ball, co-host of Krystal, Kyle, & Friends and Breaking Points, to round up the week in news. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on Trump's assault on civil servants, his attempt to overturn birthright citizenship, the arrival of federal troops to the southern border, Trump's dangerous empowerment of ICE, the likely confirmation of Pete Hegseth, more Trump pardons, Meta's anti-abortion actions, Mike Johnson's request of Casey Hutchinson, and Trump's halting of police reform agreements, before expanding on the role of Trump's “Schedule F” attack on civil servants, and watching Jeff Merkley come right at Russ Vought for his desire to trap sick people in poverty. Krystal Ball then joins, diving right into Trump's clear and active effort to exercise his plan of maximalist lawlessness, with blanket pardons to violent January 6th rioters, blatantly unconstitutional acts like overturning birthright citizenship, and the launching of a shady cryptocurrency to hide backroom dealings. Expanding on this, Ball explores the particular role the Big Tech oligarchy plays in backing the Trump regime, with mass amounts of wealth stored in and funding the world of AI and cryptocurrency – two institutions whose primary uses are in bolstering and protecting exploitation – and why this political move by the industry is a necessity in an era where they are becoming more and more representative of the massive, unproductive hoards of wealth tied up among elite capitalists. After tackling the particular role the Democratic Party played in making this era of Big Money and Big Tech a bipartisan one, and how that, alongside the corporate capture of the media, has created an environment with utterly weakened opposition to fascism – with Dems having capitulated to the Trump worldview in the hopes of bringing about a kinder, gentler fascism –  wrapping up with the need to stay clear about the anti-fascist and anti-oligarchy messaging, and the environmental, social, and economic impacts they create. Sam and Emma also touch on Trump's recent actions to overturn the federal pledge to not discriminate in federal contracts, and the snitch-order sent out over federal DEI practices. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma unpack the immediate impact of Trump's severe mass criminalization and threat of deportation of undocumented migrants, with farmers in the citrus and dairy industries seeing their workforce disappear overnight, before talking with Kieth from Chicago about Trump's NIH shutdown and the collective nature of science, and exploring Trump's crackdown on the administrative state with the perspective of USDA worker Leo from CA. Elon sycophants Ben Shapiro and PBD jump to his defense over the “did a literal Sieg Heil at the inauguration” allegations, and the MR Team reflects on videos from the Aldaghma family in the wake of a tentative ceasefire in Gaza, plus, your calls and IMs! It's News Day Tuesday! Sam breaks down the biggest headlines out of the long weekend and discuss all the big moments from Trump's inauguration. First, he runs through updates on Trump's expansive list of Day 1 executive orders hitting on seemingly everything from environmental and public health deregulation to major anti-immigrant and anti-trans federal actions, the passage of the Lincoln Riley Act, the confirmation of Marco Rubio, Biden's final actions, and Israel's continuing murder sprees in Gaza despite a supposed ceasefire, before parsing a little deeper through the exemplary performance of American fascism on display at the inauguration, and watching some distinct parallels between Elon Musk's heil and those of the Nazi regime. After expanding on Trump's inaugural speech and his economic and political agendas of personal and oligarchical enrichment, before walking a little deeper through some of the more harrowing executive orders issued by Trump during his first day in office, including removing the recognition of trans people from any federal program, drastically deregulating the fossil fuel industry, a full commitment to the death penalty, the establishment of the Department of Government Efficiency, and an attempt to engage in mass deportations, criminalize of the undocumented status, and end birthright citizenship. And in the Fun Half: Sam unpacks Fox's coverage of Trump's January 6th pardons, parses through Trump's real-estate-first perspective on Gaza, and tackles Tim Pool's take on the TikTok turmoil. The DNC denounces fundraising from “bad” billionaires, Blake from Ohio explores the future of the fight for labor and democracy, and Rose from DC brings up the role of progressive media and organizing moving forward, plus, your calls and IMs! Responsible Parent Podcast: There's an herb for that pt. 2 Summary This episode is part two of a conversation with herbalist Jim McDonald about using herbs for natural nervous system regulation. Making teas: Chamomile, spearmint, lemon balm, orange peel are good choices. Tinctures can be used instead of teas, but alcohol content is minimal. Growing your own herbs: Many herbs are easy to grow at home, and some like lemon balm can be quite prolific. Using safe herbs: When using herbs, especially during pregnancy or lactation, it's important to research potential interactions and consult with a qualified herbalist, not just a medical doctor. Learning about herbs: There are many resources available for learning about herbs, but be sure to choose reliable sources from experienced herbalists. Wildcrafting herbs: Burdock root is a good example of a wildcrafted herb. When wildcrafting, it's important to find safe locations away from roads and potential contaminants. Books by Samuel Thayer are recommended as a good resource for learning about foraging for edible wild plants. Key takeaways Herbs can be a safe and natural way to support your nervous system. There are many ways to use herbs, including teas, tinctures, and culinary applications. It's important to learn about herbs before using them, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. When wildcrafting herbs, be sure to find safe locations.   It's News Day Tuesday! Sam and Emma break down the biggest headlines of the day. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on Donald Trump's widening lead heading into the New Hampshire primaries, the Supreme Court's decision on the Supremacy clause and Texas' border policy, Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza, the US and UK's continuing strikes against Yemen, the US' growing labor consciousness, Senate policy, and developments in the US tax game, before watching Nikki Haley hold those darn Media Trumpers accountable on Fox and Friends. Next, they parse through Shawn Fain's recent statements calling for preparations for a General Strike in 2028 (with an apt callback to the Reagan era), and explore the Democrats' minimal gains from their ongoing capitulation to the GOP's radical immigration policy. Next, they get into updates out of Gaza, including Israel's complete decimation of Gaza's infrastructure and cultural institutions, their flailing military campaign, and why the American people are so “obsessed” with this issue, also touching on Netanyahu's ongoing battle with the families of Israeli hostages. Wrapping up, Sam and Emma tackle Biden and the UK's ongoing battle with the Yemeni Houthis, the absurd and destructive futility of the tactic, and tackle Israel's recent meeting with the EU over their plans for a prison island for Palestinians. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Joe Rogan kindly platform an up-and-coming content creator (it's just him falling for fake news again), John from San Antonio calls in to discuss Greg Abbott's rejection of the Supreme Court's recent decision on Texas' border wall and walks through some previews of state-level Democratic primaries. They also reflect on Nancy Mace's endorsement of Donald Trump, and Dave Rubin defends people's right to spread blatant lies about him as long as it's fascist, plus, your calls and IMs! “The sex-repulsed flag. An alternate sex-repulsed flag with adjusted colors and Rule of Tincture. Sex-repulsed is a sex stance that describes an individual who is repulsed by the act or concept of sexual interaction. The term is commonly used by asexual spectrum individuals, but is not exclusive to this community or sexuality. Sex-repulsed individuals may find sexual activity undesireable, uninteresting, uncomfortable, or generally unwanted. This is not the same thing as being asexual or lacking sex-drive (libido). Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in sexual activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards sexual interaction that does not involve them or sexual interaction as a concept. The term sex-averse may be used to describe this experience. Some individuals may be repulsed by certain sexual acts, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards other sexual acts. The term sex-ambivalent may be used to describe this experience. Some individuals may feel repulsed towards sexual interaction due to trauma or exhaustion. The term sex-drained may be used to describe this experience. Sex-repulsed individuals may also identify as apothisexual, ARCsexual, anticarnal,or Inactsexual. The term sex-repulsed is sometimes confused with sex-negative. Sex-negative (also referred to as antisexualism) is a political position used by those who are hostile towards sexual expression or sexuality. It is also often used by SWERFs and individuals who are against sex workers or the creation of sexual media (such as pornography).[1] Sex-repulsed individuals are distinct from this idea, as individuals who are repulsed by sexual interaction may still be supportive of others' sexual freedoms. Sex-repulsion is not necessarily related to sexophobia, genophobia, haphephobia, anthrophobia, misanthropy, social phobia, philemaphobia/philematophobia, philophobia, or erotophobia.” -https://www.lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/Sex-Repulsed --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/antonio-myers4/support

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day

Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for December 7, 2023 is: tincture • TINK-cher • noun Tincture refers to a solution made by mixing a medicinal substance in an alcoholic solvent. It can also refer to a slight trace of something, as in “a tincture of doubt.” // The shelves behind the apothecary counter were lined with dozens of jars and vials containing tinctures of every color of the rainbow. See the entry > Examples: “Lemon balm can be consumed in several ways. People often drink it as a tea or as an ingredient in a tea blend. You can eat the herb fresh—chopped up into a salad, added to a cold beverage, or even as an ingredient in baked goods. You can find it as a supplement in capsule or tablet form or as an herbal tincture.” — Wendy Wisner, Health.com, 4 June 2023 Did you know? A droplet of this, a skosh of that. Now you take that home, throw it in a beaker, and add a touch of ethyl alcohol to hold it all together—baby, you've got a tincture going. Tincture is a word with a colorful past most often encountered today in reference to a solution consisting of a medicinal substance mixed with alcohol, as in “Carl weathers his cold with a tincture of echinacea.” When the word first appeared in English in the 14th century, tincture referred to a substance used to color, dye, or stain, but by the 17th century the word had acquired several additional meanings, including “a slight infusion or trace of something.” This sense is still in use today, especially figuratively, as when an aspiring actor is said to feel a “tincture of doubt that the acting lessons are worth what he paid.”

Happy Monday! Sam and Emma host Daniel Bessner & Derek Davison, co-hosts of the American Prestige podcast, to discuss last week's NATO summit in Lithuania. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on labor action across the US, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, AIPAC Dems' attacks on Jayapal, and Ron DeSantis, before watching AOC help pump up a crowd of UPS Teamsters in the lead-up to a potential strike. Daniel Bessner and Derek Davison then run through a brief history of NATO since the fall of the USSR, exploring how the US dealt with the disappearance of its only hegemonic challenger – choosing to push a mass expansion of the anti-Soviet (and pro-US) NATO alliance, and ramping up their levels of military action across the globe as the project for a New American Century began. Bessner and Davison then look to the 2004 NATO expansion alongside NATO action in Afghanistan as a continuation of US tactics of hegemonic expansion during the Cold War, particularly the country's shift towards a capitalist-focused foreign policy that maintains the dominance of the US Dollar. After looking at the US and NATO's stance towards Ukraine, and how the decision to tempt them with acceptance completely bit the organization in the ass, they wrap up by assessing the US' slow pivot to the Pacific, and looking at what role the US can (and should) play in promoting peace in Ukraine. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Ron Pearlman's killer response to Bob Iger's comments about using the strike to force actors into homelessness, before tackling the incredibly spineless and corrupt response by Democrats to Rep. Jayapal's statements on Israel's apartheid state. Jim Jordan defends the little man (Elon Musk) against constant attacks (emails) from the oppressor (Lina Khan), Jody from MA dives into the problems with assisted living, and Miles from Minneapolis dives into his experiences with the Teamsters' Sean O'Brien. Sam and Emma also address RFK's odd anti-Semitic and sinophobic COVID claims, plus, your calls and IMs! It's a JAM PACKED Casual Friday! Sam and Emma host Alex Pareene, Contributing Editor at the New Republic and host of the Politics of Everything podcast, to round up the week in news. Then, they're joined by actor and SAG-AFTRA member Andrew Leeds to discuss the most recent vote by the union to authorize a strike. And THEN, they're joined by comedian Andy Kindler, host of the Thought Spiral podcast! First, Sam and Emma run through updates on the Republicans' absurd budget proposal, the Democrats successfully killing it, and SAG-AFTRA going on strike, as well as the disgusting corporate proposals that got the film and TV industry to this point. Alex Pareene then joins as he dives into the continuing story of inflation, and what could have been if the establishment wasn't so keen on ignoring its roots in price gouging. Next, he, Emma, and Sam look to the Republicans' grotesque $900bln defense bill as perfectly exemplary of the GOP's complete capitulation to anti-woke politics despite its stunning lack of popularity – something that's also seen in the falling popularity of the once-prophesied DeSantis campaign, before wrapping up the interview with an assessment of New York state politics post-Cuomo and what a strong NY Democratic party could mean on the national level. Andrew Leeds then walks through the central issues facing SAG-AFTRA, discussing the massive role residuals play in actors' income, and in qualifying for healthcare and other union benefits, only for the streaming revolution to nearly take these payments off the shelves entirely. After expanding on the attempted gigification of the acting industry, Andrew wraps up by discussing the incredible spirit of solidarity in the union (and their sister orgs), and what those on the outside can do to help. Andy Kindler concludes the first half as he assesses the incredible grifting done by Jimmy Door, and tackles why the hell some famous people get so obsessed with being wrong they dive headfirst into bigotry. Happy Monday! Sam and Emma speak with Mark Joseph Stern, senior writer at Slate, to discuss the bombshell rulings that came down at the end of the Supreme Court's most recent term. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and outside support, the future of a government shutdown, the Supreme Court ethics bill, climate change, labor action, and more theocratic fascism from the right, before diving into the anniversary of the Tusla White Supremacist massacre of a massive Black community, and the Oklahoman Right's ongoing effort to revise history. Mark Joseph Stern then joins as he tackles the rollout of the Supreme Court's most recent session, beginning with moderate cases in June before rapidly dropping vitriolic right-wing decisions right before the July 4th break, effectively helping to bury the disastrous role the Court is continuing to play in US politics. Next, he, Sam, and Emma parse through the individual roles the liberal justices on the Court have assumed, before Stern walks through SCOTUS' recent rejection of Student Debt Cancellation via the HEROES Act, why the Court relied on the Major Questions Doctrine, and whether the Biden Administration's pivot to the Higher Education Act could be successful. After a discussion on 303 Creative v. Elenis, the absurd lack of standing in the case, and how it largely undermines Lawrence v. Texas (Sodomy Law), Emma, Sam, and Mark wrap up the interview by assessing the affirmative action decision, and Clarence Thomas' ultimate decision to limit active diversity to the military. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma dive into the Biden Administration's advancement of war crimes in Ukraine, sending cluster bombs in the face of decades of research to their devastating civilian impact, UPS Teamsters begin assembling the ranks for an upcoming strike, and Donald Trump gets very confused about who absolutely should be in jail and who absolutely shouldn't. Keith from Ashville dives into recent experiences with transphobic in public (and how to deal with them) and Jonuh from Richmond brings up debate tactics online vs. irl. Cody from Denver shares his experiences with the devastating real-world impact of transphobia on individuals and their communities, and inspires a discussion of the absolute need to be a militant advocate for marginalized communities, particularly in the face of escalating political persecution and bad faith attempts to justify them. I'm excited to have our first Chinese medicine practitioner, Toby Daly, on the show. That he chose to talk about dan shen—one of my favorite herbs to grow in a garden and perhaps one of the herbs that I have been growing the longest—just added to my delight! If you don't already know dan shen (Salvia miltiorrhiza), I'm confident you'll love it, too, by the end of this episode. To give you a sneak peek, dan shen can help to:► Cool and calm irritability► Ease chronic pain► Support the heart and pericardium► and moreAll this while having the additional distinction of being the lead player in a whole herb formula that's just been approved in the U.S. to go to Stage Four clinical trials. (That's big, folks!) And, as if that wasn't enough, dan shen is absolutely gorgeous, with brilliant, large purple flowers that are beloved by pollinators of all sorts, including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.Any which way you look at it, there's an abundance to enjoy and appreciate about dan shen! By the end of this episode, you'll know:► Why Chinese medicine (and, of course, clinical herbalism) always starts with the patient, not with the herbs► What does it mean to “move the blood” and why is that important?► How does dan shen compare and contrast to hawthorn?► The role of humility and collaboration in herbalism► How to make a tincture with dan shen that supports the heart and the liver, the two major emotional systems in the body from a Chinese medicine perspective (be sure to download your recipe card!)Here is one of my favorite takeaways from our conversation: “We can never say something is good or bad. We always have to say, ‘For who? What's the constitution? What's going on with them right now? When? What's the season or the climatic factors that's going on?' We can never answer ‘Is this a good herb or bad herb?'”For those who don't already know Toby, he received his undergraduate degree in Food Science from the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. He began studying Chinese medicine in 1997 with Sunim Doam, a Korean monk trained in the Saam tradition. He earned his master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2002 upon completion of training at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco and Chengdu University in China.During his four years of training in San Francisco, he interned with the prominent acupuncturist Dr. Angela Wu and learned to apply the lofty theories he was studying in school into the pragmatic setting of a busy clinic. In 2013, he developed the Chinese Nutritional Strategies app to provide digital access to the wealth of Chinese dietary wisdom. In 2016, proving that some people never learn, he completed a PhD in Classical Chinese Medicine under the guidance of 88th generation Daoist priest Jeffery Yuen. In 2021, he developed the Chinese Medical Characters app to enable direct access to foundational Chinese medical terms and concepts. He lectures internationally and in April 2023 he published his first book, An Introduction to Chinese Medicine: A Patient's Guide to Acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Nutrition & More.I didn't know Toby prior to this episode and I really enjoyed getting to know him. I think that like me, you'll find him to be very sweet, endearing and super knowledgeable. He didn't even bat an eye when I interrupted him to talk about Tori Amos, so big score in my book. It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma host Jamelle Bouie, opinion columnist at the New York Times and co-host of the Unclear and Present Danger podcast, to round up the week in news. Then, they're joined by Hamza Syed, co-host of The Trojan Horse Affair podcast, available from the New York Times and Serial. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on Biden leading the US through another strong quarter for labor, Blinken delaying his trip to China amidst the arrival of a “Spy Weather balloon” in the US, George Santos, the removal of Rep Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Fed continuing their full-on assault on labor, before diving into Fox's juxtaposition of a strong labor market with Ford failing to meet some of their own revenue expectations. Jamelle Bouie then joins as he dives right into the murder of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the Memphis Police Department's Scorpion Squad, and the importance of understanding the impact of the hyper-policing of marginalized communities on their relationship to politics and the state writ large. Bouie walks through the work of Joe Soss and Vesla Weaver that paints police as the most direct relationship that marginalized communities have with the state, understanding that their treatment at the hands of police creates a pessimistic view of the state and encourages a removal from the political system entirely. Capping off that conversation, Jamelle, Emma, and Sam walk through marginalized communities' relationship to crime, understanding their fellow citizens as overpoliced in daily life while under-policed in terms of the actual risks to the community via violent crime, all serving to paint their social role, as understood by the state, as one of developing criminality rather than active citizenship. Next, Jamelle Bouie parses through the nascent stages of the GOP presidential race, why DeSantis and much of the rest of the Right relies on culture war discourse over policy, why the media struggles to handle GOP lies after decades of embracing them, Donald Trump's role as an outside candidate even in 2024, and the constitutional nature of debt ceiling debates. They also talk with Hamza Syed about his work uncovering the Islamophobic response of the UK Government to obviously false papers covering an Islamic coup of Birmingham's education system, and the UK Policy Exchange's and much of the media's attempt to paint his journalism as an extension of this Islamist project of extremism. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma watch Kevin McCarthy try to defend the removal of Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee as “precedent” following the removal of Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar for threats against other sitting congresspeople. They also dive into the recent House vote to denounce socialism and what that means for the future of socialist policies like M4A, with 109 Democrats joining the Right on the vote, Ben Shapiro talks girl pants and why they can never be paired with boy legs, and Donald Trump rags on Ron DeSantis' whimpering for help ahead of his 2018 race, plus, your calls and IMs! 3015 - When Freedom Means Oppression: A Saga Of White Resistance To Federal Power w/ Jefferson Cowie

Sam and Emma host Jefferson Cowie, Professor of History at Vanderbilt University, to discuss his recent book Freedom's Dominion: A Saga of White Resistance to Federal Power. First, Sam and Emma run through updates on the GOP acting as the House majority, Ronna McDaniels winning the election for RNC Chair, and the murder of Tyre Nichols by the Memphis Police “Scorpion Squad,” before parsing through the lackluster response from the right to yet another example of the overwhelming violence of the US police state. Professor Jefferson Cowie then joins as he dives right into how he came to focus so specifically on the evolution of ideas of “freedom” in Barbour County, Alabama, looking to the southern US' particular anti-statist and anti-federal view of freedom that favors the freedom to dominate over the freedom from domination. Expanding on this lens, Professor Cowie explores various conceptions of freedom, including personal freedoms (as enshrined in the Bill of Rights), civil freedoms, and sovereign freedom – the freedom to control and dominate – and how the settler-colonial nature of the inception of the US aligns strongly with this latter idea. Beginning in this era, Jefferson walks Sam and Emma through “freedom” as a central political idea in the development of Barbour County, originating with the displacement of the people of the Muscogee Creek nations to clear land for slave labor, isolating them into a New Jersey-sized lock of land under supposed “protection,” and continuing through the white invaders' insistence on overcoming the tyranny of the government protecting this land, igniting a full war with the Creek peoples, and even forcing the government to step in to fully put down the indigenous rebellion. Moving forwards, Professor Cowie then walks through the reconstruction era and the white supremacist reaction to the election of various Black and freed members of society, launching a full coup on election day 1874 with an attempted massacre of enfranchised free folks, and an establishment of a local regime led by J.W. Comer that exemplified this white freedom to dominate, institutionalizing hardcore prison labor within a system that brought the imprisoned population from 8% African American to over 90%, and launching the county into the modern era of white supremacist institutions. Wrapping up the story portion, Jefferson Cowie dives into the emergence of Alabama Governor George Wallace from Barbour County as the final stage in the development of the southern philosophy of freedom, ingraining his white supremacist attitude within arguments against federal tyranny and faux-populist rhetoric for liberty, before they conclude the interview by assessing how to balance differing conceptions of freedom, and the importance of the federal government in ensuring the greatest freedom for the greatest number of people. Fun Half: Sam and Emma discuss the Right dismissal of the Tyre Nichols footage and the mass influx in anti-LGBTQ bills across the US, the GOP debates how to trim the woke from the budget, and Ben Shapiro blows the whistle on POLITICO's puppetry of the American public's opinion of the debt ceiling. Matt from Denver discusses his relationship to the Republican Party and their agenda, Amir from VA dives into his experiences in Brazil in the leadup to January 8th, Donald Trump's 2024 strategy begins to unfold from the sky, and Dennis Prager explores the nuances of bullying children, plus, your calls and IMs! It's Casual Friday! Sam and Emma host David Dayen, executive editor at the American Prospect to round up the week in news. Then, they're joined by David Feldman of The David Feldman Show! First, Emma and Sam run through updates on the charging of five Memphis cops over the brutal murder of Tyre Nichols, the right bickering over the next RNC Chair, Adam Schiff entering the race for Feinstein's seat, and DeSantis bumping 1 million Floridians off of Medicaid, before watching Tyre Nichols' mother, RowVaugn Wells, reflect on the legacy of her son. Then, David Dayen joins as he dives right into the arrival of Jeffrey Zients as Biden's new Chief of Staff, parsing through his record as an “efficiency expert” and cost cutter, and his background in consulting as worrying features for the President's primary day-to-day filter, before reflecting on Democratic establishment media's defense of Zients as a “nice guy” whose past work you should somewhat ignore. Next, David walks Sam and Emma through Chuck Schumer cutting two massive bills that would have been a step towards breaking up Big Tech, including the American Innovation and Choice online Act – essentially preventing self-preferencing – and the Open Apps Market Act – which would take on the stipend that app monopolies (Google, Apple) take from in-app purchases – as well as exploring why Schumer has acted with such fealty to the Tech regime. Wrapping up, Dayen assesses Biden's massive 2021 executive order made up of 72 actions pushing government agencies to take on an understanding of economic competition beyond the impact on prices and consumers, discussing which agencies have actually seen the biggest shift in attitude, and the importance of these types of executive action in bolstering the programs of his anti-trust candidates like Lina Khan at the FTC and Jonathan Kanter at the DOJ, before briefly touching on Pete Buttigieg's floundering at the DOT and whether that will change. David Feldman also joins as he reflects on Sam's anti-cooperative work ethic, calls out the gated community that is the Majority Report, and check's in with Sam's child, Matt Lech. And in the Fun Half: Sam and Emma discuss the politics behind the Memphis Police's quick charging of their fellow cops for the murder of Tyre Nichols, Ron DeSantis asks why the hell the RNC is in DC, the nation's capital, and Matt Gaetz and Geraldo Rivera bring a tepid fight to Hannity over the debt ceiling debate. They also discuss Project Veritas' honey potting of a no-nothing Pfizer worker, Adam from Virginia talks to this show (of all shows) about day trading, and Garret from Michigan recommends the work of Nick Turse and discusses giving history teachers the freedom to discuss America's violent past, plus, your calls and IMs!
