This week on The Bourbon Showdown, we head back to Scotland with Diageo Luxury Brand Ambassador Ewan Morgan for a masterclass on one of the world's most iconic single malts: Talisker.Ewan takes us deep into the history of the Talisker brand, the science of ultra-aged whisky, and what it takes to guide a spirit to 30, 45, and even 47 years of maturation. Of course, we don't just talk about great whisky—we drink it. Jesse and Ewan taste through an extraordinary lineup featuring Talisker 30 Year OldTalisker Glacial Edge 45 Year Old Talisker Magma 47 Year Old.If you're a fan of Scotch, luxury spirits, or the craftsmanship behind some of the world's rarest whiskies, this is an episode you won't want to miss.
Talisker Resources CEO Terry Harbort joins MSD's Ian Wagner discusses the company's updated resource at the Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia, which now totals nearly 3.4 million ounces across measured, indicated, and inferred categories. The update more than doubles the global resource and highlights high-grade material at Mustang and Olympus. Talisker is also advancing a 105,000-meter drill program focused largely on resource conversion, while ramping production at Mustang. Ore sorting, expanded trucking rates, and a coming PEA are key milestones for 2026.
Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to review the key metrics and takeaways from the 2026 Mineral Resource Estimate, along with a production and exploration update at the Mustang Mine at their 100% owned Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. We also discuss the ongoing upsized 105,000 meter drill program, focused on the development towards Bralorne West and over into the Olympus Mine. Highlights of the Bralorne Gold Project MRE: Combined Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources are estimated at 0.72 Mt at an average grade of 8.91 g/t gold. The MRE includes Measured Mineral Resources of 21,900 oz of gold at an average grade of 10.04 g/t gold and Indicated Mineral Resources of 184,400 oz of gold at an average grade of 8.80 g/t gold. Inferred Mineral Resources are estimated at 11.23 Mt for 3,151,000 oz at an average grade of 8.73 g/t gold. A total of 141 orogenic veins that comprise the Project's vein systems were included in the MRE. The MRE is exclusive of mined out material. The Company successfully transitioned over to shipping ore to Ocean Partners in Q1, with over 5,000 tonnes currently being crushed for shipping. To date in 2026 (through May 12, 2026), the Company has sold 2,675 ounces of gold, consisting of 770 ounces of concentrate and 1,905 ounces of Direct Shipping Ore (DSO), derived from 6,990 tonnes of mined material with an average grade of 8.48 g/t. Based on current estimates under the Ore Purchase Agreement, the Company expects estimated net proceeds of approximately $12.7 million, net of applicable deductions and adjustments, including transportation, treatment/refining under the Ore Purchase Agreement, and subject to final settlement. Terry outlined the areas of ramp-up in production at the Mustang Mine, currently accessing about 6 ore faces at the 1040 and 1030 levels, with the plan to eventually get down to the 1015 and 980 levels later this year. The mining has been coming from the Alhambra Vein, BK Vein, and BK-9870 Vein, with plans to also begin accessing the Brumby Vein in the next couple of months. Development work is continuing from the main area of the Mustang Mine over towards Bralorne West, with about 150 meters to go to be able to start accessing ore faces over in that part of the deposit. As operations continue ramping up, expanding up to 500 tpd later this year, that the plan is then to keep developing over to increase mining from more areas including from Bralorne West to increase operations to 750-1,000 tpd about 2 years out. Then further out the initiative is to put in a second portal into the historic Pioneer mining area to access the Olympus Mine to the southeast of the Mustang Mine, moving throughput up to the eventual target of 1,500 tpd. Additionally, we explore how the mining process will be further upgraded utilizing ore-sorting technology by Q3 of this year. This ore-sorting will allow for shipping higher-grade material, with less associated waste, making it even more economical to be shipped to Ocean Partners. On April 21, 2026, Talisker Resources announced that the Company has increased its diamond drill program from 30,000 metres to 105,000 metres. The program will consist of 83,000 metres of resource conversion drilling at the Mustang, Bralorne West and Olympus areas and 22,000 metres of exploration drilling targeting veins at Congress and Pioneer Deeps. Terry further unpacks the goals of this largest drill program to date at each of these areas and how this will set the company up for its growth initiatives for years to come. When it comes to Scottish distilleries with whiskies that match the landscape, Talisker is one of my favorite examples: sea and smoke. For the longest time, as the sole distillery on the Isle of Skye, it served as the perfect punctuation mark on any trip to the island. Seemingly isolated along the shore of Loch Harport in the small village of Carbost, it built quite a reputation around the world as early as the 1800s. Today, I'll dive into Talisker's history with Diageo's Head of Rare & Luxury Whisky, Ewan Morgan. We'll start at the distillery's origins, and you'll be among the first to hear about a distilling technique once used at the distillery, but forgotten by time. We'll talk about the influence of the distillery's worm tubs on the whisky and find out what special ingredient they use inside those worm tubs. Then I get a special treat. We'll dive into the world of long-aged whisky and discuss how to nose, taste, collect, and preserve rare bottles. Along the way, we taste Talisker's remarkable 30-year-old, 45-year-old, and 47-year-old whiskies and talk about what happens to a spirit after decades inside a cask. If you're a fan of Scotch, this is a deep dive you won't want to miss. Catch an extended version of the episode as a member of the Whiskey Lore family at patreon.com/whiskeylore
The newest Talisker single malt is also the oldest Talisker ever bottled at 47 years old. It's finished in virgin American Oak casks toasted using heated volcanic rock from the Isle of Skye, and Diageo Luxury Ambassador Ewan Morgan will explain what the process adds on this week's WhiskyCast In-Depth. We'll also discuss the new Rare Series of whiskies from Diageo, too. In the news, Brown-Forman has rejected a $15 billion takeover bid from Sazerac, and Diageo's executive corps is undergoing a shakeup.

All 2025 diamond drilling assays have now been received and are being incorporated into the vein model wireframes, which will feed into the upcoming resource estimate and Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). Talisker has engaged SGS Canada Inc. to complete a National Instrument 43-101 compliant Technical Report incorporating a Mineral Resource Estimate and the PEA for the Bralorne Gold Project. The MRE is targeted for Q2, and will update the estimate in the Company's current Technical Report (completed in 2023) and incorporate an additional 138 drill holes (representing 31,093m of drill core), as well as the depletion of areas already mined by Talisker at the Mustang Mine in 2025. In addition, Talisker has engaged third-party consultants to complete studies regarding mining, infrastructure, process, capital and operation costs, as well as economic studies. MSD's Ian Wagner talks with CEO Terry Harbort, who outlines strong early drill results from the Bralorne West area, alongside a $52 million financing to accelerate exploration across Mustang, Olympus, and Congress. With a resource update expected in May and production already underway, Talisker is positioning itself to transition from small-scale producer to a multi-asset, district-scale gold operation.

Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins us for an production and exploration update at the Mustang Mine, to outline the development towards Bralorne West, and to review the work going into the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) and Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) at their 100% owned Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. Terry outlined what the ramp-up in production at the Mustang Mine would look like over the next few years; with a goal to get up to 500 tonnes per day (tpd) this year, and clarified the November 10th news announcing the signing of binding terms for an Ore Purchase Agreement with Ocean Partners UK Ltd for up to 1,500 tpd including a US$25 million revolving credit facility for use developing the Project and secure the pathway to ramp up production. The Company has confirmed with Ocean Partners that it will begin shipping gold bearing material here in January 2026, and there are already stockpiles building at the port facility. Initial production at the Mustang mine was sourced mostly from in-vein development from the 1090, 1105 and 1120 levels and but now development and production is progressing into the stopes at the 1060, 1045, and 1035 levels. The mining has been coming from the Alhambra Vein, BK Vein, and BK-9870 Vein, with plans to also begin accessing the Brumbie Vein in the next couple of months. In 2025, a total of 35 underground diamond drill holes for 7,515 metres were completed from three drill bays in the Mustang Mine, and a total of 15 surface diamond drill holes for 5,367 metres were completed from one drill pad at Bralorne West. This work included drill hole UB-2025-016 which intercepted 99.60 g/t Au over 0.50 m within 26.48 g/t Au over 2.00 m on the BK9870 Vein. The underground resource conversion drill program was focused on infill drilling at the Alhambra, BK, and BK-9870 Veins within the Mustang Mine. All 2025 diamond drilling assays have now been received and are being incorporated into the vein model wireframes, which will feed into the upcoming resource estimate and PEA. Talisker has engaged SGS Canada Inc. to complete a National Instrument 43-101 compliant Technical Report incorporating a Mineral Resource Estimate and Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Bralorne Gold Project. The MRE will update the estimate in the Company's current Technical Report (completed in 2023) and incorporate an additional 138 drill holes (representing 31,093m of drill core), as well as the depletion of areas already mined by Talisker at the Mustang Mine in 2025. In addition, Talisker has engaged third-party consultants to complete studies regarding mining, infrastructure, process, capital and operation costs, as well as economic studies. The information from these studies will be provided to SGS for review and incorporation in the PEA. The Technical Report with both the MRE and PEA is expected to be completed during Q2 2026. We review as things continue ramping up, expanding up to 500 tpd later this year, that the plan is then to keep developing over to increase mining from more areas including from Bralorne West to increase operations to 750-1,000 tpd about 2 years out. Then further out the initiative is to put in a second portal into the historic Pioneer mining area to access the Olympus Mine to the southeast of the Mustang Mine, moving throughput up to the eventual target of 1,500 tpd. Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me for an operations update at the Mustang Mine, and to review the November 10th announcing the signing of binding terms for an Ore Purchase Agreement with Ocean Partners UK Ltd for up to 1,500 tonnes per day (tpd), including a US$25 million revolving credit facility for use develing their 100% owned Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. The Company has confirmed with Ocean Partners that it will begin shipping gold bearing material in January 2026. A 60-day notice of termination of the milling agreement with Nicola Mining Inc. has occurred, but ore will be shipped to the Craigmont Mill through year end. Production at the Mustang mine has been sourced mostly from in-vein development from the 1090, 1105 and 1120 levels and production stoping from the stopes between the 1060 and 1075 levels. Planned production in the fourth quarter 2025 will be sourced from stopes between the 1075 and 1090 and the 1090 and 1020 levels. Terry also reviews their operations team's accelerated development of the Lower Mustang decline which will allow access to the 1045 and 1030 levels below currently accessible areas. We review as things continue ramping up, how the amount of ore mined will move from 250-300 tpd at present expanding up to 500 tpd next year. Then the plan is to increase mining from more areas including from Bralorne West to increase operations to 750-1,000 tpd about 2 years out. Then further out the initiative is to put in a second portal into the historic Pioneer mining area to access the Olympus Mine to the southeast of the Mustang Mine, moving throughput up to the eventual target of 1,500 tpd. Additionally, we explore how the process will being upgrading the ore on site utilizing ore-sorting technology beginning next year. This ore-sorting will allow for shipping higher-grade material, with less associated waste, making it even more economical to be shipped to Ocean Partners. Updated resources and an economic study will be released over the next few months, outlining some of these concepts in more detail. Wrapping up we discuss the key milestones and news on tap for the balance of this year and heading into the first half of 2026. Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to review the October 9th news announcing the second gold sale from September production from the Mustang Mine, at their 100% owned Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. The Company has been consistently trucking over the first development ore from the Mustang Mine to Nicola Mining's Craigmont Mill located in Merritt, British Columbia, and is now starting to truck over the higher-grade vein material as well as ramping up the tonnes per day to the mill. In September, Talisker produced 862 ounces of gold from the Mustang Mine following on from the 707 ounces of gold sold in August for a total of 1,569 for the quarter ended September 30th. Production was sourced mostly from in-vein development from the 1090, 1105 and 1120 levels and production stoping from the stopes between the 1060 and 1075 levels. Planned production in the fourth quarter 2025 will be sourced from stopes between the 1075 and 1090 and the 1090 and 1020 levels. Terry reviews their operations team's accelerated development of the Lower Mustang decline which will allow access to the 1045 and 1030 levels below currently accessible areas. To date, 115 metres of development has been completed with 95 metres remaining to reach the 1045 level along the Alhambra and BK veins, increasing future mine output, gold production, and revenues. In addition to having increased the amount of ore mined from 250-300 tpd, there is a current initiative to expand that up to 500 tpd and look to beginning upgrading the ore on site using ore-sorting technology. This ore-sorting would all for shipping higher-grade material, with less associated waste, and would make it even more economical to be shipped to Nicola Mining's Craigmont mill, which is currently at capacity processing Talisker's ore. Then further out the plan is to increase mining from more areas including from the Olympus Mine to the southeast of the Mustang Mine, and increase operations to 750-1,000 tpd, also utilizing other nearby processing centers with spare capacity. An economic study is slated for later this year that will explore some of these concepts in more detail. Wrapping up we discuss the key milestones and news on tap for the balance of this year. Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins us to highlight the September 8th news announcing the successful completion of their first gold sale from the Mustang Mine, at their 100% owned Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. The Company had previously starting trucking over the first development ore from the Mustang Mine to Nicola Mining's Craigmont Mill located in Merritt, British Columbia; and sold 707 ounces of gold in August, generating gross proceeds of approximately US$2.3 million. Terry outlines that this milestone confirms the category shift of Talisker resources from an advanced-stage developer to an active gold producer and the successful completion of early-stage commissioning activities at Bralorne. Talisker has been implementing a phased ramp-up development strategy to optimize resource extraction, reduce operational risks, and generate near-term cash flow. He reviews the areas of focus within the underground mine to continue with accessing ore from the high-grade 1060, 1075, 1105 and 1120 levels along the Alhambra and BK veins, increasing future mine output, gold production, and revenues. We delve into the depths of Talisker Resources' underground mine operations at Bralorne for this conversation. CEO Terry Harbort provides an update on mine development at the project along with milling mineralized material at the Nicola's Craigmont Mill.
Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to highlight the key milestone of the first development ore being milled at Nicola Mining's Craigmont Mill located in Merritt, British Columbia. Talisker announced on July 7th that the Company has commenced milling and processing of run of mine material from the Mustang Mine vein material extracted from the 1060 and 1075 development levels. We unpacked this major positive milestone for the Company, and what the ramp up in to production will look like for the second half of this year. Talisker continues to develop on the 1060, 1075, 1105 and 1120 levels with in-vein development active on the BK vein on the 1075 level and both the BK and BK9870 veins on the 1105 level. Long-hole drilling in preparation for the mining and extraction of the first stope is underway targeting the 3264 stope from the Alhambra vein located between the 1060 and 1075 levels. Blasting and extraction of the first stope is expected to occur later this week. We review that main area of focus for the development declines and work up until this point in time has been in the unmined area, between the historically mined Bralorne and King mines, now referred to as the Mustang Mine. We shift over to the measured ramp-up of throughput from mined ore at the Mustang Mine with throughput now above 200 tonnes per day (tpd) and the goal to get that up to 250 tpd by year-end. Moving into next year it is anticipated that throughput can rise from 300 tpd, up to 500 tpd, and then eventually 750 tpd in the years thereafter. That will involve pulling in material from the unmined areas between the historic Bralorne and Pioneer mines as a second eventual area of focus. In addition to being amenable to toll milling at nearby processing centers with spare capacity, there is a second study underway looking at upgrading the ore on site using ore-sorting technology, so that higher-grade material, with less associated waste would make it more economical to be shipped to additional processing centers. An economic study is slated for later this year that will explore some of these concepts in more detail. Wrapping up we discuss the key milestones and news on tap for the balance of this year. Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to review the renewed the milling agreement with Nicola Mining Inc. in connection with processing run of mine material from the Mustang Mine, at the Bralorne Gold Project, over to Nicola's Craigmont Mill located in Merritt, British Columbia. The company announced on May 15th that as of Sunday, May 11th, Talisker initiated the trucking of run of mine vein material extracted from the 1060 and 1075 development levels. We unpacked this major positive milestone for the Company, and what the ramp up in to production will look like for the second half of this year. To date, a total of 640 tonnes of run of mine material from along the Alhambra Vein has been transported to the Craigmont Mill. A processing stockpile will be developed at the Craigmont Mill over the next month to allow operational continuity. Milling is expected to proceed soon thereafter. We discuss the development work underway on the pathway to near-term gold production at the Mustang Mine over the next few months. We review that main area of focus for the development declines and work up until this point in time has been in the unmined area, between the historically mined Bralorne and King mines, now referred to as the Mustang Mine. To date, a total of 286.6 metres of development has been completed at the Mustang Mine including waste development on the 1090, 1085, 1100, 1105 and 1120 levels and development on mineralized vein material on both east and west fronts on the 1060 and 1075 levels. We shift over to the measured ramp-up of throughput from mined ore at the Mustang Mine with throughput starting at 100 tonnes per day (tpd) in the next 2 months, then moving up to 175 tpd after that, and then up to 250 tpd by year-end. Moving into next year it is anticipated that throughput can rise from 300 tpd, up to 500 tpd, and then eventually 750 tpd in the years thereafter. Terry Harbort, President and CEO of Talisker Resources (TSX: TSK) (OTCQX:TSKFF), joins me to outline the lateral development on the Alhambra Vein on the 1105 level at the Bralorne Gold Project in British Columbia. We discuss the development work underway on the pathway to near-term gold production at the Mustang Mine over the next few months. We review that main area of focus for the development declines and work up until this point in time has been in the unmined area, between the historically mined Bralorne and King mines, now referred to as the Mustang Mine. To date, a total of 107.1 metres of 3X3 metre development has been completed at the Mustang Mine including 2.2 metres in the mineralized Alhambra Vein. Vein access is currently underway on four levels with 11.4 metres already completed on the 1060 level, 34 metres completed on the 1075 level, 26.4 metres completed on the 1105 level and 9.3 metres completed on the 1120 level. Additional development will begin shortly on the 1090 level to provide a fifth level of access to mineralized material. Talisker expects to be extracting material from its first stope towards the end of May or early June. We shift over to the remaining work there to be completed, a rough idea of the sustaining capital that will be needed to put the Mustang Mine into production imminently and start ramping up the throughput from 100 tonnes per day (tpd) in the next couple months, to 175 tpd after that, and then up to 250 tpd by year-end. Moving into next year it is anticipated that throughput can rise up to 500 tpd and then eventually 750 tpd in the years thereafter. That will involve pulling in material from the unmined areas between the historic Bralorne and Pioneer mines as a second eventual area of focus. Terry is a structural geologist by background with over 25 years experience working across Australia, South America, and Canada during his career and has discovered a few significant deposits like AngloGold Ashanti’s Le Colosa and Gramalote deposits. At the helm of Talisker Resources for the past 6 years, Terry gives us an update since we last spoke, an overview of their Bralorne gold project, and all the technicalities around the resource, their approach to sustainability and environmental responsibility, and the biggest challenges they are facing as they go into first pour. KEY TAKEAWAYS The company is currently transitioning Braylorne into production, with plans to start mining operations by the end of April or early May, targeting an average grade of approximately 11 grams per ton over the first five years. Talisker has successfully implemented ore sorting technology, which has significantly increased the grade of the material processed, allowing for a more efficient operation without the immediate need for building a mill. Terry and his team work closely with First Nation partners and focusing on responsible waste management, including potential uses for waste material and transitioning to dry stack tailings to minimise environmental impact. Talisker boasts a diverse and experienced management team, including veterans from major mining companies, which enhances the company's ability to navigate the challenges of transitioning from exploration to production effectively. BEST MOMENTS "I think it really comes down to understanding, particularly continuity of these deposits. There have been a lot of classic failures in vein mining around the world where there hasn't been enough drilling or they don't understand the modelling of these structures." "We're looking at transitioning across into paste backfill, putting it back in the hole. We've got tonnes of holes there underground." "We're starting off here at just 100 tonnes per day for the first three months until we get everything sorted out." Brixton Metals CEO Gary Thompson discusses the second round of drill campaign results from the Thorn project in Northwest British Columbia. The results include hole 291, which revealed a gold zone and a copper zone. The gold zone aligns with a Northeast trending gold zone called Talisker, with high-grade gold, silver, and copper mineralization. The porphyry system at depth shows potential for expansion, and the presence of molybdenum is noteworthy. The company is also exploring new porphyry targets and preparing to drill at the Trapper gold target.
