This collection features the biggest bangers currently making waves! We kick things off with the fabulous "Finally" by Swedish House Mafia and Alicia Keys. This dream collaboration reimagines the 2001 house classic by Kings of Tomorrow (a.k.a. Sandy Rivera) into a sweeping anthem, showcasing Ms. Keys's incredible vocals. I can't recall a more unexpected and mesmerizing pairing since David Guetta and Kelly Rowland electrified the dance floor with "When Love Takes Over" back in 2009. Next up is a brand-new track from Canada's pop princess turned urban queen, Nelly Furtado. After a seven-year hiatus, her collaboration with Tove Lo and SG Lewis delivers an electro banger that seamlessly bridges her earlier work with Timbaland. The singer is in fantastic vocal form and looks as fabulous as ever, while Don Diablo's searing progressive remix is sure to captivate club-goers. Italian DJ Piero Pirupa, who previously reworked the rock classic "Another Brick in the Wall," returns with a hard-hitting remix of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit." Grunge was always ripe for an EDM makeover, and this remix elevates the original to new heights. Jerome Robins & Karsten Sollors take on Rihanna's classic "Don't Stop the Music," transforming it into a BIG HOUSE tune that's bound to blow the roof off any venue. Their version does justice to the original while opting out of the MJ "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" chant—frankly, it didn't need it. Martin Ikin is riding high with his chopped tribute to Beyoncé's "Crazy For You," titled "Crazy 4 U." Paired with "7 Seconds" by James Hype, these tracks highlight the diversity of styles in this set. We also feature sweeping anthems like the elegant "Tears" by John Summit and Paige Cavell, alongside Max Styler's progressive track before closing out with his techno smash, "Addiction." In between all this goodness are some heart-tugging and emotionally uplifting songs you may or may not have heard yet. This shift in the set allows listeners to breathe before transitioning to a harder note. Tracks like "Beautiful & Young" (a Lana Del Rey remake) by Harpoon, "Hold Me" by Freejak, "Wish You Knew" by Carlita, and "My Love 2024" by Alex Wann, Route 94, and Jess Glynne all deserve attention. While some lean towards Afro house, others showcase a more progressive structure, but they all mesh beautifully. Finally, we have the latest from Chappell Roan. I debated including her new track "Hot To Go!" due to the controversy surrounding her recent comments.
Culture writer and author Lina Abascal returns to Pop Pantheon to revisit the fleeting early 2010s moment when EDM DJs utterly consumed American popular music via two of the genre's most emblematic figures, David Guetta and Calvin Harris. Louie and Lina trace David's roots in the Paris club scene through to his breakthrough in the U.S. with hits like "When Love Takes Over", "Sexy Bitch" & "Memories", "Where Them Girls At?", "Titanium" and "Turn Me On", his big pop collaborations with artists like Sia, Kelly Rowland and Nicki Minaj. They then tackle Calvin's bloghouse-y origins through to his peak-era work, from 2011's “We Found Love” with Rihanna to smashes like "Feel So Close", "Sweet Nothing", "One Kiss" and "This is What You Came For". Finally, Louie and Lina discuss how the EDM bubble burst, how Guetta and Harris adapted, and rank both David Guetta and Calvin Harris in the Official Pop Pantheon. We're heading back to Sweden on this, the 7th episode of season 2, with a musician who is so good and so charming that we can't wait for you to hear our interview. Alma Caroline Cederlöf, who goes by the nom de plume GRANT, is already a big, big name in her homeland - so much so that her latest album, Truth & Consequences, was recently shortlisted for the Alternative Pop of the Year award at this year's Swedish Grammis. A Stockholmer through and through, the majority of GRANT's music has come out in English and her command of the language results not only in great lyrics, which shy away from cliches and offer an interesting twist on both familiar and less commonplace themes, but also some pretty fantastic song titles. She has that tricky-to-define star power that rests on a trio of strengths: incredible voice, charisma by the bucketload and a real knack for songwriting. In our interview, Caroline tells Doron about the very 2023 way she found out about her Grammis nomination, she very kindly explains the whys and wherefores of 3 quintessentially Swedish (and rather popular) music shows on Swedish television – all of which she has previously performed on - and we talk about her joining the band MOR last year and how they came to record a rather impactful cover version of David Guetta and Kelly Rowland's monster hit, "When Love Takes Over". As usual, for every guest artist on the podcast we have a special playlist featuring some of their best tracks. On the GRANT playlist on our website - at www.melodyam.com/grant - you can listen to highlights from her discography, including that fantastic cover version and other collaborations with MOR.

And it's a WRAP! This week, Elena and I are back as we wrap up the 30 things we've learned by 30- and what did Kelly Rowland say? When Love Takes Over! As we go through our list, we inadvertently pull over on the topic of Love, because it really did take over... We say some things that we apparently needed get off our chest! We also call back to the entire notion and thesis of this series- Black Lives and why we NEED to continue to matter. With that being said, we also wrap up the show as it is. For June/July 2020 I decided to release two editions of Pride Anthems similar to how I do in March with Mardi Gras Anthems. This 4th edition of Pride Anthems has a distinctly different sound and feel to number 3. This edition sits squarely in the big room and circuit arena with some great new remixes of past anthems to have graced the dance floors of Pride events around the world. Just in time for New Year's Eve and ushering in the new decade comes the first edition of UP! - January 2020. This set is designed with maximum energy to keep your hands in the air and your feet moving. Inaya Day features on 2 tracks here. The first being "Beautiful Life", her collaboration with Master Fale which kicks off the set. Two energy filled house stompers "Rushing Back" by Flume and "Never Be The Same" by Tritonal get fantastic remixes from Division 4 and Alpha 9 respectively. Dirty Disco don't disappoint with back to back mixes for Galantis/Dolly Parton and Billie Eilish. Kesha (who has just announced she is performing at Sydney Mardi Gras 2020) has her new track "Raising Hell" brilliantly mixed by DJ Blacklow. The back end of the set sits firmly in main room anthem territory with mixes from Tommer Mizrahi, Sagi Kariv and Inaya Day's second appearance with "One World" given the big room treatment by Micky Friedmann. Pierre David Guetta born 7 November 1967) is a French DJ, music programmer, record producer, and songwriter. He has sold over nine million albums and thirty million singles worldwide.[2] In 2011, Guetta was voted as the number one DJ in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll.[3] In 2013, Billboard crowned "When Love Takes Over" as the number one dance-pop collaboration of all time.[4] David Guetta had already been involved in the club scene since 1984 - 2000. However, it wasn't until he and partner Joachim Garraud collaborated with the American Gospel singer Chris Willis for a series of songs with including their first single "Just a Little More Love." That collaboration spawned several more releases and the eventual compilation of F*ck Me I'm Famous. in 2003. In 2004, their collaborations continued on the release of Guetta Blaster. After releasing four semi-successful singles it was a mashup of "Just a Little More Love" and the Tocadisco remix of The Egg's "Walking Away" titled "Love Don't Let Me Go (Walking Away)" that blew up the global dance floors. The rest they say is history. We all know the name David Guetta as one of the most successful DJ, producer, and songwriter of the early millennium. His superstar status skyrocketed with the massively successful "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland and later "Titanium" with Sia. As the dance music world evolved, so did his style. He went from Electro-House to EDM and now Future House, Reggaeton and whatever the current trend in dance music takes him. David Guetta is still in high demand and often releases tracks under his pseudonym Jack Black. In fact, he just had a number one Billboard Dance Club hit with "Put Your Phone Down (Low)" not to mention the wildly successful "Wild Ones" with Nicky Romero and Sia. You could say that David Guetta paved the way for other superstar DJs like Avicii, Calvin Harris, Marshmello and, The Chainsmokers by elevating these folks not just from being a DJ or dance party promoter but to multi-talented artists in their own right. It's with great love and respect for the man and his music that Party Favorz recognizes the very talented David Guetta with an induction into our Legacy series. There's a lot of memories built into this set and I fully expect a lot of you to fall back on your heels when you hear a lot of these older tracks again. 10 years ago was not that far back but many of these songs are now considered classics. Because his output is so extensive, I attempted to culminate some of his early work with the majority of his biggest hits, which ultimately spans two sets. Expect volume 2 to drop tomorrow. Until then...ENJOY! Album: David Guetta – The Dance Legacy Series vol. 1 Genre: EDM, House Music Year: 2019 Total Time: 01:34:39 1. Would I Lie To You (Cash Cash Club Mix) [with Cedric Gervais feat. Party Favorz is back with the ultimate New Year's dance party mix, Blow Your Own Horn 2019. This annual series started back in 2013 as a showcase of some of the finest bootlegs, mashups and party tracks from the year as well as year's past. It's meant to be one final kiss-off to the year that was while welcoming in the new year to come. Over the years it's evolved into a massive set with some of the best party tracks from the past making it the must-have set for those celebrating with friends closer to home. I have been bogged down this past week troubleshooting issues with the credit card payment processor for donations. I've since disabled it and pushed it out to the new year. If there's one thing folks that follow this podcast know about me is that I'm anal about every minor detail. This isn't so minor, and it really irritates the hell out of me when I pay $$$ for things that don't work, and the developer blames it on another developer's plugin, or my theme, or anything but them. I've performed all the standard troubleshooting to no avail, and they won't be able to help until after the 1st. That being said, you can still donate using the PayPal option, which also accepts credit cards if you don't have an account. My focus had to be getting this final set out in time. As you can see, I'm a day late and a dollar short but the wait is worth it. Blow Your Own Horn 2019 was way harder than previous efforts. I don't know if it was because I was multi-tasking two completely separate things or that I'm worn out after running a marathon of mixes since Late October. While I have not previewed the entire set yet, what I have heard so far has left me pleased. I think ya'll are really gonna love this! 2018 has been a tough slog trying to get through the daily minutia and Individual 1's constant barrage of self-serving lies, I mean tweets on a continual basis. Life is much easier when you don't follow much news or politics, but willful ignorance also leaves us without the knowledge to fight for change. At the beginning of 2018, I originally planned on shutting down Party Favorz, but I persisted and forged on. I'm glad I did. Frankly, I run this site by the seat of my pants coming up with one idea after another. Many of you have made suggestions for sets that I ultimately tackle, while others need more consideration. Regardless, it's a group effort, and I appreciate the input. For now, I plan to keep the doors open at least through mid-April when my hosting expires. If I create a fundraiser for renewing my host, then you know I'm in it for the long haul. That has yet to be determined. In the interim, I want to thank EVERYBODY from the bottom of my heart that donated to my efforts to bring you what I think is the best (or at least one of the best) dance music podcast that is going into its 12th year. Your loyalty means more to me than I can possibly express. I hope everyone has a fun and safe New Years. I'll be back sometime in mid to late January with brand new sets and a whole new look. Until then...ENJOY! I just spent the last two hours troubleshooting issues with Wordpress that wouldn't allow me to post. Obviously, it's been resolved but you kinda get an idea as to the fresh hell I go through on a regular basis through no fault of my own. SMDH. Party Favorz has inducted Beyoncé and Destiny's Child into the Diva Hall of Fame. However, this doesn't paint the full picture of the continued success of DC's members. Kelly Rowland was an original member of Destiny's Child but also had a great deal of success on her own. In between albums, she released her debut "Simply Deep" which included the massively successful duet with Nelly titled "Dilemma." The album went on to sell 2.5 million copies. After the members of Destiny's Child disbanded in 2006, she released her second album "Ms. Kelly" which spun out the hits "Like This" and "Work." It wasn't until her collaboration with David Guetta on the massive worldwide hit "When Love Takes Over" that she began to dabble in the EDM scene. Her third album "Here I Am" spawned the worldwide hit "Commander" as well as the R&B/Hip-Hop #1 "Motivation." Soon after, she collaborated with multiple producers in the dance music scene generating additional international club hits. While Kelly continues to work and/or make appearances on television, it's our hope that she continues her long successful streak in the dance music scene. Her vocal abilities are second to none and with the expanding sub-genres in house music, there is more than enough to fit her style. It is with great pleasure that Party Favorz inducts Ms. Kelly Rowland into the Diva Hall of Fame. Enjoy! There is a change in track listing from the original post. What would you "do for love"? I would love to be able to marry my partner , but unfortunately I'm denied that opportunity here in Australia, because it's not a right given to same sex couples. But that could change soon !! The marriage equality debate is in full swing, so I urge anyone that gets their postal vote to make their voice count by sending in their YES vote. It's disappointing to see that our government can't make the decision for themselves, but that my love for another man has to be validated by millions of others deciding if my love was equal to theirs or not. I'm proud to be gay and I hope that one day soon I can get down on my knees and ask the man I love to marry me. So spread the word and get those votes in. I've filled this mix with over 3 hours of love and happiness (Lots of classics in here - "Proud", "Life, Love & Happiness", "I Feel Love", "Stand By Me", "When Love Takes Over" and "When You Got Love" Pride Anthem) Enjoy !! DJ Chef Nguyen returns to present "Club Soda 10: Pendual", celebrating 10 seasons of the numerous radio broadcasts and mixshow podcasts. To observe such success for the last 10 years, this episode features 1 selected track from each season and mixed in chronological order. However as a tradition that started in season 5, a recap of the previous season's hits (mixed or missed) is very much needed; a crossover of songs from 2015 - 2016. The theme of this season is "Time comes and goes", leading to the title Pendual. I will discuss more about the format of this title in the next episode. Here is your tracklist for episode 1 of Club Soda 10: Pendual. "2016 Countdown" by Masterbeat "It's My Life (Dave Aude Remix)" by No Doubt (from CS) "Let Me Think About It (Chef Nguyen's Edit)" by Ida Corr vs. Fedde le Grand (from CS2) "Who The Hell Are You (Illicit Remix)" by Madison Avenue (from CS3) "Happiness" by Alexis Jordan (from CS4) "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta f./ Kelly Rowland (from CS5) "Love You Like A Stereo Love Song (Chef Nguyen's Edit)" by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina vs. Selena Gomez (from CS6) "Dark Side (Gustavo Scorpio Remix)" by Kelly Clarkson (from CS7: Resort Anthem) "Something Better (Alyson Calagna & Chef Nguyen Edit)" by Audien f./ Lady Antebellum (from CS8: Tricoro) "Rolling In the Deep (Rosario & Cappo House Mix)" by Aretha Franklin (missed in CS9: Spada) "I'm Every Woman / Respect (Eric Kupper Club Mix) by Aretha Franklin (from CS9: Spada) "Took The Night vs. Gonna Make You Sweat" by Chelley vs. C+C Music Factory (debut CS10)

I'm excited to be putting out my first podcast of 2014, with some amazing new music on it. I had a hard time whittling down the tracks — at one point I had over 45 songs on the playlist! I could easily put out a 2nd version right away (hmmm….) This one feels special for me because it contains the first remix that I've ever had my own name on — the remix of "Brave" by Sara Bareilles done by George Figares and myself. I hope you enjoy it! And for everyone stuck in the polar vortex, KEEP DANCING to stay warm! On New Year's Day last year, I was priveleged to play at Johan Khoury's Day Wash party. For those who don't know it, it is a wildly successful party run by Johan & his production team & is held at Chinese Laundry in Sydney. It is a day party (hence the name)which is both indoors & outside. There are at least 4 separate dance spaces with a variety of DJ's & musical styles. When Johan asked me to play, he wanted a camp, vocal, happy sound for the courtyard. I thought 'Hmmm! I can do that'. So here is Part 1 of the set I played. Part 2 to follow.

I can't think of a better way to start 2010 off than to remember 2009. Okay, maybe not everything from last year, rather the fantastic house music that made us dance, sing and celebrate! 2009 was the year a diva was realized. Yup, I'm talking about Kelly Rowland. So she found herself without a record label and at the same time collaborated with David Guetta to create the most memorable song of the year. "When Love Takes Over" blew our minds, while rattling dance floors across the world; once it previewed at WMC, it was unstoppable. Looks like life without Destiny's Child, much less Sony is looking pretty damn good these days. However, she still has that pesky little thing to wrap up with Sony. Destiny's Child is slated to release a final album later this year. Then again, if Beyonce (another winner this year) doesn't stop bombarding us with new material, a new album by DC may even be delayed. David Guetta was definitely the man of the year. His collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas brought us two monster smashes "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Got a Feelin." Not only were these monster club hits, but also massive Top 40 hits that tied up the number one spot for most of the spring. Word up to the old school tired-ass hip-hop artists; either change with the times or your ass will be left behind. Frankly, I don't care if I ever hear another song with "shawty" in it again. Pu-leaze! The minute some white bread tween like Jesse McCartney starts using it, it's time for a change! Regardless, you can thank David and the BEP for breaking that stale mold of Top 40 radio in the U.S. Now let's see what other pop artists do with it in 2010. Justin, you're up next my man. The sleeper hit of the year was "Release Me" by newcomer Agnes out of Sweden. Her meat and potatoes style of pop is not only well written but pretty damn catchy. Coupled with the right producer (Cahill), her music translated quite well onto the dancefloor. In fact, I'd say she gave 2008's newcomer Solange a definite run for her money in that category. While the biggest news of the year came from the death of one of pop music's biggest icons Michael Jackson, it was Lady GaGa who drained the rest of our attention. "The Fame" was released in August of 2008 to critical acclaim by the only sites that matter. Arjanwrites, Electroqueer and Popjustice all praised the album with its dance-ready electronic beats and pop sensibility. While the lead single "Just Dance" was blowing up in clubs all around the world, true to fashion Top 40 radio resisted until January of 2009 before the GaGa came crashing through their doors and forced them to add it to rotation or risk becoming irrelevant (not that they aren't already). The rest was history. Spawning four number singles and dance hits, LG was on a roll. By the end of the year, we were treated to "The Fame Monster," a collection of eight brand new songs with its lead single "Bad Romance" taking the lead. I fully expect to be hearing LG on the radio and in the clubs 24/7 throughout 2010. Make no mistake, she is a star of her own making and there just isn't anyone that can match her talent. In fact, when publicity whores like the Fred Phelps bible-thumping wingnuts clan get involved, you know she's doing something right! Starting things off, we got Beyonce's "Single Ladies" whose video spawned a million imitations. No doubt, she was at the top of her game in 2009 with chart-topping hits like, "Halo" and "Sweet Dreams" among many, that kept Beyonce in the news. We also have Lady GaGa's second release "Poker Face," which even got the 100-year-old Baba Wawa reciting the words "bluffin with my muffin" on national TV during an interview with the Chanel clad Princess of the dancefloor. You also get a double shot of Mariah and P!nk's latest. I'm still waiting for LaFace to release the absolutely beautiful "I Don't Believe You" as a single (fingers tapping on the desk). Unfortunately,

Well, I finally got my groove back and I have to say "it feels freaking fantabulous!" While there are still issues with iTunes (which I just received another email from them to let me know they haven't forgotten about me)and now my Facebook Fan Page, which I've decided to leave well enough alone, things are going relatively well with me in general. I'm still peddling away on the 'under the hood' issues for the sight, so I figure everything will hopefully fall into place in due time. I'm actually getting better at this patience thing, just take a deep breath and walk away. Come back in an hour or so and try again. Works pretty well. Normally, I like to mix up the different styles and genres within my BPM mixes, but this time I decided to separate them out. This first set is for all the mainstream electro-pop folks who like their radio favorites mixed for the dancefloor. Nothing wrong with that at all. As you skim down the track list, you may notice a couple of things. First, Mariah Carey; yes I was critical of her remake of the Foreigner classic "I Want to Know What Love Is", but I have to admit her vocals are spot on and she hasn't sounded this good in a long time. Sadly, Moto Blanco (who I would have tapped for the remix) sped the vocals up losing the actual flavor of the song. This is a big ballad with some serious undertones that deserve better than the Mickey Mouse rendition they delivered. That's not to say most of you won't like it, I just think something more dramatic is in order; maybe Tony Moran, Chris Cox; I'm just saying. The next thing you'll notice is my inclusion of Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." I haven't been particularly nice to Miley on this site, only because I guess I'm way over the whole bubblegum scene. History has always manufactured huge stars targeting the Teen Beat crowd, so Miley's success comes as no surprise. Certainly, I've had my fair share of favorites over the years (Debbie Gibson comes to mind), so it wouldn't be fair of me to deny anyone else their right to enjoy it now. While I'm not ready to join Miley's fan club, I will admit that this song is sinfully delicious! While I generally enjoy all the songs in my mixes for one reason or another, as usual, there are a few diamonds that stand out and stick in my head like gum to the bottom of your shoe. Cindy Gomez' "Again and Again" is pure pop bliss, while Priscilla Renea's "Dollhouse" takes on a familiar theme while making it all her own. One of the biggest artists of the year, Agnes follows up "Release Me" with "I Need You" which is just as ear-pleasingly catchy. I'm not sure what the huge appeal to Agnes' kind of meat and potatoes pop is, but she sure has one hell of a writing team, if she isn't writing these songs herself. Taking the familiar piano riff used in "When Love Takes Over" by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland (another HUGE track from earlier this year) this is bound to be BIG. After the massive worldwide success of "In My Arms" from 2007, Plumb returns with a new album and single "Hang On" already destined for dancefloor glory. Packed with fantastic mixes by Dave Aude and Digital Dog, it's the Pete Hammond mix that blows my socks off. If you weren't fortunate enough to have lived through the second half of the 80s, Pete Hammond (who's been making the rounds on the circuit lately) was part of Stock, Aitken, and Waterman or better known as SAW. They churned out dozens of hits for Bananarama, Dead or Alive, Rick Astley and even Donna Summer amongst many others. Their signature sound could be heard not just on dancefloors but at Top 40 radio throughout the world. I'm happy to say that Pete, who has already been featured in previous BPM Editions, is back and quite possibly even better than before. He's taken the classic SAW sound and updated it for the today's dancefloors'. Despite my obvious bias, it's refreshing to hear something dropped in between the usual Bimbo Jones,
