We're celebrating our 10th anniversary all year by digging in the vaults to re-present classic episodes with fresh commentary. Today, we're revisiting our 2021 conversation with Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. ABOUT JIMMY JAM & TERRY LEWISWith 26 Billboard #1 R&B hits and 16 Billboard #1 pop hits to their credit, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are perhaps the most influential and successful songwriting and production duo in modern music history. With a total of 41 Top 10 hits in the US, Jimmy and Terry were named ASCAP Songwriters of the Year a record-breaking nine times. They are perhaps best known for their work with Janet Jackson, beginning with the Control album, which earned the duo a Grammy for Producer of the Year. Between 1986 and 1994 they scored thirteen #1 songs with Janet on either the R&B or pop chart, including “What Have You Done For Me Lately,” “Nasty,” “When I Think of You,” “Control,” “Let's Wait Awhile,” “Miss You Much,” “Rhythm Nation,” “Escapade” “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” “The Best Things in Life Are Free,” “That's the Way Love Goes,” “Any Time, Any Place,” and “Again,” which earned Jimmy, Terry, and Janet an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Jimmy and Terry got their start as musicians with Morris Day and the Time, the Prince-produced band whose biggest hit was the Jam and Lewis-penned “Jerk Out.” They made the transition to a successful songwriting and production team working with the S.O.S. band, which landed a #2 R&B hit with “Just Be Good to Me.” From there, they made their mark on pop and R&B hits for decades to come. In addition to their work with Jackson, the duo wrote and produced the #1 pop singles “Human” by Human League, “Romantic” by Karyn White, “Thank God I Found You” by Mariah Carey, and the Boyz II Men singles “On Bended Knee” and “4 Seasons of Loneliness.” Additional R&B chart toppers include “Encore” by Cheryl Lynn, “Fake” by Alexander O'Neal, “Everything I Miss at Home” by Cherelle, “Sensitivity” by Ralph Tresvant, and the Johnny Gill singles “Rub You the Right Way” and “Wrap My Body Tight.” Other highlights from their catalog include New Edition's “If It Isn't Love” and “I'm Still in Love With You,” “No More Drama” by Mary J. Blige, Robert Palmer's hit pop cover of their Cherelle single “I Didn't Mean to Turn You On,” and recordings by Gladys Knight & The Pips, Barry White, Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Usher, Spice Girls, Aretha Franklin, Charlie Wilson, Ledisi, Sting, Elton John, Beyonce, Rihanna, Rod Stewart, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Gwen Stefani, Willie Nelson, and many others.Always versatile, the duo has earned Grammy awards for Best R&B Album for Chaka Kahn's Funk This, Best Gospel Song for Yolanda Adams' “Be Blessed,” and Best Dance Recording for Janet Jackson's #1 pop and R&B hit “All For You.” Additional Jackson hits that were written and produced with Jam and Lewis include the Janet and Michael Jackson hit “Scream” and the #1 singles “Together Again,” “I Get Lonely,” “Doesn't Really Matter,” and the Nelly duet “Call On Me.”In total the team has earned over 100 gold, platinum, multi-platinum and diamond album certifications from the RIAA, have received more Producer of the Year Grammy nominations than anyone in history, earned the NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award, and were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring “Eric Prydz”. Eric Prydz started out a DJ and Producer in the earlier 2000's as a progressive house and techno DJ. He later relocated to Los Angles and gained a massive hit with the 2004 track “Call On Me”. Eric sampled Steve Winwood hit “Valerie” which gave the track its catchy pop hook and merged new and old music. This sample also gave the song mainstream acceptance which allowed it to be played on the radio. “Call On Me” also had an iconic music video featuring suggestive choreography also made it the most talked about track.

Episode 49 of Season 5 aired on 8 December 2022 at 19h00 on Rebel Rock Radio.  It began with the very track that started me on this 40-plus-year journey down Rock and Roll Road i.e. ‘Detroit Rock City', the opening track from Kiss's Destroyer.  That album changed my life, and may have changed yours too.  If you get yourself a copy of The Story of Rock and Roll you may find some parallels.  From Kiss, we went to The Clash and the title track of the London Calling album.   Next, we got a deluge of guitar from Jake E. Lee and Ivan Ivankovic.  Ivan on a track called 'World in Fear' and Jake with Badlands back in 1984.  Randy Rhoads would have turned 66 this week so we wished him happy birthday in heaven and then checked out his more than able replacement Zakk Wylde in his band Black Label Society and a track called Lovin' Woman' off the Unblackened album.    We checked out The Raven Age and a track called 'The Death March' and that fitted well with yet another track of the latest Queensrÿche album Digital Noise Alliance.  We had some Lynyrd Skynyrd with ‘Call me The Breeze' and then another bit of classic rock in the form of 'Call On Me' from Bad Company.  Now if you are listening internationally then I am sorry I bang on about the state of South Africa as much as I do, it is a tragedy we are living through, a government that has betrayed the electorate and stolen all the money by looting and collapsing all the State-owned enterprises.  We are on the cusp of a complete blackout with load shedding around 8 hours a day.  It was therefore politically correct to bitch about it and play The Damned's ‘Wait For The Blackout, followed by Sex Pistols and 'EMI'.  If you substitute ANC for EMI you get the picture.  From there it was time for some upliftment and that came in the form of Van Halen with 'Dreams', The Gaslight anthem with 'Stay Lucky', and Sixx A.M. with ‘High On The Music'.  We will get through this and the music helps.   The downhill run included some grungy stuff from Audioslave, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains.  It was post-Layne Staley Alice in Chains I might add, William Duvall is doing a great job in AIC.  Next up, classics from ACDC and Black Sabbath, and then some Halestorm with a cover of Sophie B. Hawkins's 'Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover'.  We took a listen to a lot of brilliant stuff that is new to me, St Aurora out of Finland, Girish and the Chronicles out of India, and Risingfall out of Japan.  Thanks to the wifi situation with a lot of the cell towers in the country rendered useless because the batteries have been stolen, I lost a lot of listeners, apologies to all who were frustrated with the signal dropping.  The end of the show turned into a beautiful Metal Festival featuring, Sword, Motörhead, Pantera, Bewitcher, and Arch Enemy.  We ended off with Claymorean, a metal band out of Lazarevac, a small mining town in Serbia. Claymorean are one of the best bands I have discovered this year.  I hope you enjoyed the episode, comments are welcome, watch out for the monthly newsletter and let me know if you want to be on the mailing list.  Thestoryofrockandroll1@gmail.com Artists featured:  KISS, The Clash, Nevada Beach, Badlands, Ivan Ivankovic, Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society, The Raven Age, Queensrÿche, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, The Damned, Sex Pistols, Van Halen, The Gaslight Anthem, Sixx A.M., Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, ACDC, Black Sabbath, Hell Fire, Iron allies, Halestorm, the Pretty Reckless, Coal Chamber, Terminatryx, My Chemical Romance, St Aurora, Texas Hippie Coalition, Sword, Girish and the Chronicles, Risingfall, Motörhead, Pantera, Arch Enemy, Bewitcher, Claymorean The Story of Rock and Roll. DJ Colette on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 8/10/22 About DJ Colette - DJ, producer, vocalist – Colette has grown from an integral part of the Chicago underground into a breakout musical triple-threat releasing her most accomplished and fully realized artistic statement to date.  Combining the tunefulness of classic pop songs with the thump of classic house of her hometown, the album ventures into new sonic territory for Colette, from intimate bedroom beats to stadium-shaking dance anthems. When the Music's Loud is the sound of an artist at the peak of her powers. Always seeking to push boundaries and explore new territories, Chicago native DJ Colette, continues to discover ways to push her craft and career forward even after over two decades of leading the pack. A founding member of the pioneering DJ collective Superjane—along with DJ Heather, Lady D, and Dayhota—Colette has been an integral part of the Midwest underground since the birth of the 90s. Crafting events in Chicago—ones that would see most of Chicago's second generation of house music artists and DJs graduate to global scales—her Material events at the storied club Shelter in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood were seminal in the development of the house sound of Chicago's North Side, from the early 1990s on. Colette's groundbreaking combination of incorporating her live vocals over into DJ sets became her signature and a definitive technique that's won her fans from six continents. As a natural extension of her formative musical academia at Lane Tech College Prep, she began making recordings, with her first release appearing on 1995's “Moments of Epiphany” produced by Mazi & DJ Motion for Shroom Records. With an ever-increasing velocity of singles released for independent mainstays such as Icon Recordings, Moody Recordings, Nordic Trax, Brique Rouge, including Derrick Carter's seminal Classic Music Company, eventually led to recording two successful full-length efforts—2005's Hypnotized and 2007's Push—for San Franciso's legendary imprint OM Records. With multiple Dancestar Awards, commercial licenses, TV placements, and a Top #5 Billboard Hit, Colette was ready to make the next move in her career from not only just making records and playing them, but the upward motion to releasing them as well. Colette launched Candy Talk Records in June of 2010 as a platform for more creative control with her own music, their collaborations, and the choice and freedom to work with other record producers of whom she is a fan. Since then, Colette has personally released eight singles and two full-length efforts of her own work—2013's crowd-funded When The Music's Loud (named one of Vice's 99 greatest dance albums of all time) and 2017's Retrospective. Releasing remixed and original works from the likes of Gettoblaster, Sonny Fodera, Late Nite Alumni, Lawnchair Generals, Rubb Sound System, Scrubfish, WhiteNoize, Demarkus Lewis, Chuck Love, Golf Clap, Local Options, Change Request, and more she has created a home for other like-minded creators to have a platform for their work. With an ever-growing roster of musicians, producers, and DJs, 2019—thus far—has seen Candy Talk release East Coast production stalwart Pete Moss' mixes of Colette's “Dreams”, which peaked at #4 on the Traxsource Deep House Top 100. Establishing a remix series highlighting particular producers, Candy Talk has released two volumes in this series thus far with The Rubb Sound System Remixes (CTR015) and The Gettoblaster Remixes (CTR016), and The Demarkus Lewis Remixes (CTR018) featuring his reworks of "Call On Me", “Dreams”, and “We Feel So Hot” slated for the last quarter of 2019. Looking forward, the label anticipates celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2020 with a compilation centered around the best of the Candy Talk catalog—including some new tracks—(CTR019) in the first half of the new year.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. OTM: Ep #25 - How Eric Prydz and Others Totally Stole "Call On Me"

The year is 2004. Eric Prydz released an explosive number 1 dance tune called Call On Me with an equally famous music video that swept the world and has continued to make history. However, Eric Prydz along with Ministry of Sound stole that song along with others before him for notoriety. To understand this story we have to look back to the song's origins in Paris, France to see that Thomas Bangalter (one half of Daft Punk) and DJ Falcon together created the song and refused for it to be released mainstream. Take this journey with me as we peel back the layers of sabotage and expose how Eric Prydz and the other key players in this story got away with ripping an indie French House song into a massive hit record. I choose you: Writing wedding vows with Tim and Jade Weddings have been disrupted during Covid, but despite the hurdles, many couples have still been tying the knot in South Australia, including Tim and Jade, our special guests in this episode of The Adelaide Show. They got married last year in an outdoor ceremony and their vows were so different from the ones usually heard, that we asked them to join us to share their thinking and writing process - and to check on their marriage progress, to date. Tim and Jade are both vegan, so for the SA Drink Of The Week this week we chose one of their go-to wines. It's made by Yalumba. And in the Musical Pilgrimage, we finish off with a live performance of a song by Siberian Tiger, from the radionotes podcast with John Murch (a superb, South Australian podcast). You can navigate episodes using chapter markers in your podcast app. Not a fan of wine? You can click next to jump to the next chapter in the show. We're here to serve! Oh, and here's our index of all episode in one concise page Running Sheet: Writing wedding vows00:00:00 Intro Introduction to the show. 00:02:53 SA Drink Of The Week This week's SA Drink Of The Week is a 2019 Yalumba Bush Vine Grenache from the Barossa Valley. We chose it because it's one of Tim and Jade's go-to red wines, fitting in with their vegan lifestyle. 00:09:23 Writing wedding vows One of the great writers and wits, Oscar Wilde, references marriage in many books and plays and two of these quotes seem to be contradictory: The proper basis for marriage is a mutual misunderstanding. The other: Ultimately the bond of all companionship, whether in marriage or in friendship, is conversation. Back in October last year, 2021, a friend of mine, Tim Whiffen, married Jade Schulz, down on the outskirts of McLaren Vale at McCarthy's Orchard. What struck me about this wedding more than any others I had attended, was the quality of the writing in the service and in the vows. Of course, when you have two philosophers getting married, I guess one's expectations should be high. Jade and Tim, welcome to The Adelaide Show podcast. Let's deal with a few Oscar Wilde quotes. Tim, if you had to choose, which would be the better basis for marriage: mutual misunderstanding, or conversation? Jade, your thoughts? Another great writer in the world of romance, is Jane Austen, and perhaps Pride and Prejudice is considered one of the great romance novels of all time. One of the themes running throughout is the desperate and calculating nature of marriage and how Elizabeth keeps getting marriage proposals from Mr Collins. So much so, that at one point the story goes like this: “Really, Mr. Collins,' cried Elizabeth with some warmth, 'you puzzle me exceedingly. If what I have hitherto said can appear to you in the form of encouragement, I know not how to express my refusal in such a way as to convince you of its being one.” Who asked who to marry? Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran is listed everywhere online as the number one bridal waltz (what did you use). I would like to interrogate the lyrics briefly. And darling I will be loving you 'til we're 70 And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23 And I'm thinking 'bout how people fall in love in mysterious ways Maybe just the touch of a hand Oh me I fall in love with you every single day And I just wanna tell you I am How did you two meet and strike up a romantic interest? So honey now Take me into your loving arms Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars Place your head on my beating heart I'm thinking out loud Maybe we found love right where we are Is love something can be "found"? We are going to look at your vows now. And as a prelude, I found these writing wedding vows tips from brides.com. Let's see what you think about them. Say "I love you." Tell your partner you'll be there through thick and thin. Share personal stories. Actually make promises. Acknowledge the support you'll need from others. They also offered tips about writing them. Don't wait until the last minute. Plan to have your vows written three weeks before your wedding. Make a list of all your thoughts. Write up to three drafts. Don't try to include everything. Avoid words like "always" and "never." Embrace sentimentality. Go after laughter. Get inspired by books, songs, movies, and poems. Practice reading out loud. Indicate pauses and intonation. Ask a trusted friend to listen. Make a fresh copy of your vows for the ceremony. Keep the vows a secret from your partner until the ceremony. In fact, let's listen to them. Jade, you read yours first, so let's listen first: Tim, you are truly my best friend, the person I want to share every important moment with, good or bad. You are the person I want to share ridiculous jokes with and to do weird dances in the kitchen with for no reason. I feel so incredibly lucky to have found someone who is so genuinely kind, caring and thoughtful. You don't hesitate to go out of your way to make the important people around you feel loved and valued, and I think that is such a beautiful quality. I love how passionate you are about the things you care about, and how much you love to learn and grow as a person. I am so unbelievably proud of you and I promise to make you proud too. We both know that I am absolutely terrible at making decisions, indecisive is an understatement, but one decision I am so confident in, is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't believe in fairy tales, but I do know that when I am with you I feel a sense of stability, comfort, acceptance and love that I never knew existed before I met you. I know that special moments in our life have been made so much better by sharing them together, and that we are both prepared to work on and grow our relationship for the rest of our lives, and honestly I can't imagine anything better. I feel so fortunate to be able to love someone who enriches my life in so many ways, and cannot express how excited I am to marry you. Tim, I promise to always support and encourage you, to care for you and celebrate with you. I promise to value our differences as much as our common ground. And I promise to always be grateful that you eat all the yucky flavours of skittles and save the green ones for me. Today I stand in front of the people who mean the most to us and say, I choose you. I choose you over all others, I choose you to laugh with, to cry with and to grow with. I choose you to love, and I will choose to love you every single day for the rest of my life. There are three things, in particular, that struck me about your vows, Jade. Tim's nature of going out of his way to make people around him feel loved and valued. How did that crystallise as a quality to include in your vows? Tim eating the yucky Skittles for you. What are the bad colours? You finished by saying "I choose you". Describe the nature of that verb. Is it once off thing, or is choosing an on-going aspect of your relationship? Now let's listen to Tim's vows: It is without doubt that we have flourished together, Jade, we are more than the sum of our parts, and today I stand here committing to this relationship, considering myself beyond lucky to have found that. I have had many wonderful opportunities in my life, fortunately I was wise enough to recognise the greatest opportunity in asking for your hand in marriage. For all the knowledge and skill, I could seek to gain, I value this, what we have together, above it all. With all the beautiful and shiny things available in life, I am most drawn to your beauty, your nourishment, and your madness, because you are just mad enough to make things interesting. So, I won't avert my gaze to the stars when what I'm most proud of is in front of me today. My heart chooses you, Jade, and this life we have. When I wake every day, I do so with you in mind, when I dream a dream, I put you right beside me because what would any of it be worth without you? I could achieve many things alone, but I have achieved true greatness in love. My head can only kneel before my heart in its choice, and so I promise, beyond rationality, to continue to choose you, in sickness and in health, through absence and presence, peril and joy. I will love you after every board game where you target me and win, I will love you through every late arrival to everything without fail, and I will love you after every time I have to give you directions to your own home. I trust that you'll accept my love hand poured into every terrible or lazy meal I ever make, or the love I'm expressing through every annoying song I sing, and with the strength provided by our dearest friends here today I'm sure you'll be able to accept my love and apologies after facing my many imperfections. As philosophers, you and I don't deal in the absolutes of forever, but any fears I have are vanquished by trusting you. Your patience in the face of my flaws tempers my insecurities and your graceful love enriches my very being. Just knowing I don't have to face trials alone is halfway to deliverance, so it is you and I against the world, dear Jade, I love you, and I'm elated to be married to you. Tim, some things I wanted to explore. What did you mean by, I have achieved true greatness in love? You say you will love Jade after she targets you in board games and wins. What is this a reference to? You reference "graceful love" and not having to "face trials alone". Is this a key point for you? Questions from listeners about vows. Craig Mitchell, a friend and a Uniting Church minister. My question is about to whom the vow is given/addressed. There are family and friends as witnesses. Some of doing this publicly is that we are in a sense making ourselves accountable to others to uphold our promises, but also acknowledging that requires a supportive community. For some, this 'accountability' also has a religious dimension. ie being accountable to a deity, but also recognising the need for the deity's strength. So my question is how this wider sense of marriage as a social and even religious contract/covenant with both accountabilities and the need for 'a village' shapes both the words and the intent? How would the vows be different in private? What are we expected to say or need to say because this is a public declaration? My second question similar to above is how social expectations might negatively shape such vows (including seeing them as irrevocably eternal or even lifelong when that is largely the exception)? How do you take something seriously without requiring the impossible? Third question: When do celebrants draw the line and say “I don't think you should say that?” Michael Mills, actor and writer. Q: How is it okay that in some wedding vows in 2022, part of a woman's vow is still sometimes "to honour and obey." While the man doesn't have such a vow? How is this still a thing? And yes... I've witnessed it recently. A question from Colin Richard: Do people still say things like ‘forever' and ‘always' and things like that? They're lovely ideas, but we should probably throw in the words ‘I will try…' rather than promising something so many can't achieve (because we're all human, things change, and we can't always deliver on the original promise). Your thoughts? Let's start drawing this to a close now. Perhaps a little more Jane Austen, this time from Sense and Sensibility: "Lady Middleton resigned herself... Contenting herself with merely giving her husband a gentle reprimand on the subject, five or six times every day.” I think that's a reference to nagging. Are either of you nagging each other yet? Have you learned strategies for dealing with such things? And in Much Ado About Nothing, Benedick says to Leonato, "Thou art sad; get thee a wife, get thee a wife!" Tim, is that good advice? Thank you, both. Oh, and this podcast interview is me fulfilling my pledge made at your ceremony, to keep you two in check and accountable. 01:26:56 Musical Pilgrimage In the musical pilgrimage, we have a live version of Call On Me by Siberian Tiger, recorded during their intriguing conversation with John Murch on the radionotes podcast. The episode featuring Bree Tranter and Chris Panousakis, is available here: Siberian Tiger, radionotes podcast. In the chat with John, Bree and Chris explain the rationale behind their choice of the Henley Sailing Club as the location for the video for Call On Me. SUMMARY:Our guests on this episode of Songcraft are Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, best known for co-writing and producing nearly every Janet Jackson hit. They've worked with a who's who of artists, earning them 26 Billboard #1 R&B hits, 16 Billboard #1 pop hits, more Producer of the Year Grammy nominations than anyone in history, and a place in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. We'll chat with them about their varied career, and their new first-ever album under their own names, entitled Volume One. PART ONE:Fan mail and the hardest job in the world.PART TWO:Scott and Paul chat about the idea of the celebrity producer, and how Jam & Lewis might have set a new mold. PART THREE:Our in-depth interview with Jimmy Jam & Terry LewisABOUT JAM & LEWISWith 26 Billboard #1 R&B hits and 16 Billboard #1 pop hits to their credit, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are perhaps the most influential and successful songwriting and production duo in modern music history. They've recently released their first album under their own names, which is called Volume One.

Pete Moss and Colette on the "Virtual Sessions" presented by The DJ Sessions 2/27/21 Pete and Colette talking about their collaboration album "THE DAYS" A Retrospective Part 1" and other things... About Pete Moss - Philadelphia based Pete Moss knows a thing or two about house music having traveled the world in search of the ultimate underground dance floors, and releasing over 150 projects on top labels such as, Ovum, Dessous, ALola, Definity, Large, Seamless, I records, MN2's, Acryl and dozens of others, including his own underground Recline imprint.  Known as one of the finest late night/underground Dj's on the map, crushing it at Fabric London, La Terrazza Barcelona, Roxy Prague, Salon Daome Montreal, Harlot San Francisco, King King L.A, The Arches GLasgow, La Santanera PDC Mexico, Rioma Mexico City, Smartbar Chicago, Living Room Miami, among others, Pete has a reputation for giving his all at every gig and leaving people touched and inspired by his signature deep and eclectic sound. Candy Talk Records kicked off 2021 with its twenty-second release, featuring the first in a two part retrospective compilation "The Days", from label favorite, Philly's deep house aficionado, Pete Moss. This two-part retrospective compiled by label head Colette features some of Moss' most memorable moments, with many tracks originally only available in limited quantities. These hand chosen tracks have all been remastered for today's modern fidelity. Part one of this series features an eclectic collection of sounds and moods. From the dubbed out aesthetics of tracks like "So Sweet", "2012", and "All Ova the World", to the spaced out elemental disco-tinged "Turn U Back" and "Back in the Daze", this is just scraping the surface of this release's brilliance. Paring the sweet and subtle spatial delicacy of "Too Soon", "I See the Beauty", and his rework of "Dreams feat. Colette" with the emotive tracks like the deep and driving "Rain Day" or "Solutionz", this compilation is a true testament to the exploratory musical magic that has become a benchmark of the sound of Pete Moss.   About Colette - Always seeking to push boundaries and explore new territories, Chicago native DJ Colette, continues to discover ways to push her craft and career forward even after over two decades of leading the pack.

ON A MISSIONMENTAL AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE for all in our Armed Forces is a GOOD, IMPORTANT, and ESSENTIAL thing that SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED.For my sisters and brothers-in-arms of the United States Armed Forces, this is for you… for all of us! The beauty of being at the pinnacle of one's military career and in its twilight years is that you just may find you have more courage and confidence to speak up about things that you should have always been able to speak up about when you felt fairly certain that you would be criticized or scorned.I am Shawn Walrath. I am an Air Force O-6/colonel. These are matters of public record. And I'm asking for a few minutes of your time.We SHOULD NOT have NEGATIVE STIGMAS associated with MENTAL and BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE! Someone (me) seeking Mental or Behavioral healthcare should be viewed no differently than someone seeking everyday Primary Medical or Dental healthcare. It's about taking care of oneself and each other! So, here's that next big step in my career...I choose to be an even stronger advocate for Mental and Behavioral healthcare. I choose to not only lead, encourage, and support others but to LEAD BY MY OWN EXAMPLE! So here it is...I am a MENTAL HEALTH PATIENT. I am a BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PATIENT. I am a survivor and I am receiving therapy for diagnosed Anxiety Disorder. The specifics are for me and my provider(s). I am also a survivor and I am receiving therapy for diagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Again, the specifics are for me and my provider(s). I share this NOT for sympathy. Because, I'm all good. My therapy over the past 14 months has helped me a great deal in learning how to change how I think about and how I respond to these challenges. Rather, I share this to REASSURE my fellow service members--my fellow joint warriors--that you too CAN and SHOULD be comfortable in seeking Mental or Behavioral healthcare. I DIDN'T LOSE MY SECURITY CLEARANCE. I WASN'T REMOVED FROM MY JOB OR MY POSITION OF TRUST. I WAS STILL A VERY SUCCESSFUL SQUADRON COMMANDER WHILE SUFFERING MOSTLY ALONE. I'M STILL WORLDWIDE DEPLOYABLE. AND... I'M STILL A STRONG HUSBAND, FATHER, FRIEND, AIRMAN, LEADER, OFFICER, INTELLIGENCE PROFESSIONAL, AND JOINT WARRIOR. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY...THERE IS NOTHING, AND I MEAN NOTHING, TO BE ASHAMED ABOUT!If you need support, encouragement, or assistance, CALL ON ME. I'M HERE. I will NEVER leave a SISTER or BROTHER-IN-ARMS alone. We're in this TOGETHER, through it all.SHARE YOUR STORYI am writing an article on this topic that I started over a year ago. And it will hopefully be published this summer. Please feel welcomed and encouraged to share this blog and podcast on your own social media platform.Again if you need help and you are unsure of where to start or how to start, call on me. I'm here... for you!--Sincerely and faithfully yours,SHAWN P. Many of these tracks are hot off the presses and you'll likely be hearing them in your local club for months to come. As usual, I like to put my own spin on these sets with fresh reworks of classic tracks from decades past. There is no shortage of classic cuts in this set featuring "Dancin" by Aaron Smith and Luvli, "Say My Name" by Damon Hess (Destiny's Child), "Cold Rock A Party" by Richard Grey & Lissat (MC Lyte and Missy Elliott), "I See You Baby" by Groove Armada, "Work It & Lose Control" by Missy Elliott, "Feel What You Want" by Kristine W, "Call On Me" by Eric Prydz, "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake, and the obligatory Halloween favorite "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. Each of these tracks has had new life breathed into them by the various remixers who've given them a fresh new perspective. I really wanted to get these all out by Friday but things kinda slipped away from me but better late than never. Technically speaking, Halloween isn't until Thursday and you can enjoy these sets without all the spooky noises and typical filler (i.e., gimmicks) employed by other DJs in their sets. With my birthday rapidly approaching on Saturday, I wanted to give a shshout-outo David J. and Keith M. for their generous donations that helped cover some unexpected expenses this month including a pricey new DJ service (but worth it) and Billboard's new charge for access to their charts (which pissed me off). As it stands, we're back on track. I plan on updating volume 2 of the Essential 80's Dance Mix as I noticed two breaks within Taylor Dayne's "Prove Your Love" with a third for the outro. I'll need to re-edit the track and check for anything else I may have missed. Sorry for the continuous need to update sets but it's unnerving for me to not fix something — especially when it's a definitive series like this. I've already mentioned two Legacy entries on tap but I may expand that to four. It depends on whether I have enough of these two artists to make it work so I'm not saying who they are just yet. I'll let it be a surprise that many of you had asked for in the past when and if they do pop up My goal now is to get out the updated version of volume two of the Essential 80's Dance Mix followed by volume 4 sometime this weekend. Until then...ENJOY! Album: HW19Genre: House, Future House, Funky House, EDMYear: 2019Total Time: 02:45:36 1. Aaron Smith feat. Luvli - Dancin (Remix (Krono Extended Remix) 2. Dance Club

Party Favorz really dug in yesterday to deliver the epic 40-song non-stop dance music club podcast HW19 featuring the latest club hits from the biggest hitmakers of the moment. With my birthday rapidly approaching on Saturday, I wanted to give a shout out to David J. and Keith M. for their generous donations that helped cover some unexpected expenses this month including a pricey new DJ service (but worth it) and Billboard's new charge for access to their charts (which pissed me off). As it stands, we're back on track. I plan on updating volume 2 of the Essential 80's Dance Mix as I noticed two breaks within Taylor Dayne's "Prove Your Love" with a third for the outro. I'll need to re-edit the track and check for anything else I may have missed.
