Husband and Wife cover Psalms 120 - 122Psalm 120: A Prayer for Deliverance from Deceitfulness. Starts, "In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me." This is the first of 15 psalms categorized as Song of Ascents. We have no idea why they were written... much like the rest of the Bible. Psalm 121: The LORD Is Thy Keeper. Starts, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help." The first verse is frequently quoted to commemorate monuments and memorials inspired by mountains or hills. What would a hill have to do in order to inspire memorializing? All the best hills I know are boring af.Psalm 122: A Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. Starts, "I was glad." No notes, but the title makes me think of the song "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. It is the second senior Grand Prix event of the season and we are already exhausted, and the men's continued chaos does not help one bit. Fortunately in this Skate Canada Men and Ice Dance episode, there were some relieving and joyful moments as well.In the Ice Dance event, we pleaded with Zach Lagha to sell his Rio beak masks, continued to be both 3000 and 8 and 2000 and late with another Boom Boom Pow program, and gave bold predictions about Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier on the Olympic podium. In the Men's event, we were worried about Keegan Messing (although very much appreciated the photos of Lane and Wyatt in the K&C), and surprised by the sudden appearance of Avril Lavigne in the Matrix. We also breathed a collective sigh of relief for Nathan Chen (but not for Raf).Timestamps(00:00) - Intro(01:15) - ICE DANCE(01:55) - Haley Sales & Nikolas Wamsteeker(04:55) - Elizaveta Shanaeva & Devid Naryzhnyy(08:55) - Christina Carreira & Anthony Ponomarenko(10:52) - Lilah Fear & Lewis Gibson(15:08) - Marjorie Lajoie & Zachary Lagha(19:29) - Diana Davis & Gleb Smolkin(26:23) - Caroline Green & Michael Parsons(29:05) - Olivia Smart & Adrian Diaz(31:00) - Charlene Guignard & Marco Fabbri(32:46) - Piper Gilles & Paul Poirier(36:38) - MEN(37:20) - Roman Sadovsky(39:20) - Tomoki Hiwatashi(41:51) - TANAKA Keiji(44:35) - Conrad Orzel(47:16) - Alexander Samarin(51:03) - YAMAMOTO Sota(53:29) - Morisi Kvitelashvili(56:22) - Keegan Messing(1:01:10) - Makar Ignatov(1:04:32) - Evgeni Semenenko(1:06:46) - Jason Brown(1:09:29) - Nathan Chen(1:14:49) - Situation with Rafael Artyunyan(1:16:22) - Outro------------------------------------------------Follow our figure skating podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lutzgetdownpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/lutzgetdownpod And to work with us please contact lutzgetdownpod@gmail.com Logo design by @dezisartvibes on Instagramxx Joce & Clauds
Would it really be a men's event if chaos did not abound? We will never know the answer to that as at Skate America, we again did not see peace. We talked about how everyone should lay off Nathan Chen and how we love happy and confident Vincent Zhou and the benefits of skating to a program with your name as the title. We also questioned who Joce's clubbing buddy is now that Uno Shoma is skating to Vivaldi and Bolero, and cried for and with Kevin Aymoz while joining the audience for a standing ovation. In the dance event, we pondered the placement of Yehor Yehorov's worm-ing on the ice, dated ourselves by revealing how old we were when Boom Boom Pow topped the charts, and learned the true meaning of Too Darn Hot with Evan Bates' highly insulated free dance costume.Timestamps:(00:00) - Intro(01:07) - ICE DANCE(02:38) - Molly Cesanek & Yehor Yehorov(05:06) - Carolane Soucisse & Shane Firus(06:04) - Natalia Kaliszek & Maksym Spodyriev(06:37) - KOMATSUBARA Misato & Tim Koleto(09:28) - Annabelle Morozov & Andrei Bagin(13:11) - Olivia Smart & Adrian Diaz(16:00) - Laurence Fournier Beaudry & Nikolaj Sørensen(17:55) - Madison Chock & Evan Bates(23:19) - Madison Hubbell & Zach Donohue(26:06) - MEN(26:23) - Kevin Aymoz(28:52) - Artur Danielian(30:27) - Adam Siao Him Fa(33:27) - Nam Nguyen(36:15) - Daniel Grassl(39:19) - Michal Brezina(40:50) - Jimmy Ma(44:09) - SATO Shun(46:44) - Nathan Chen(54:28) - UNO Shoma(58:03) - Vincent Zhou(1:02:46) - Outro------------------------------------------------Follow our figure skating podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lutzgetdownpod/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/lutzgetdownpod And to work with us please contact lutzgetdownpod@gmail.com Logo design by @dezisartvibes on Instagramxx Joce & Clauds
https://linktr.ee/TempleOfBleh https://www.ueginc.com/ Dave Loncao joined Roadrunner in 1998 to help lead the label's radio promotion arm into bolder territories. As you're about to hear - he delivered in spades. For procedural propriety - I claim that 'How You Remind Me' is the most played record of a certain decade (or all time). I'm only partially right;Source - http://www.mtv.com/news/1627833/eminem-is-the-best-selling-artist-of-the-decade/"According to Nielsen — which began keeping track of digital sales in July 2003 — Flo Rida's "Low" was the decade's top-selling digital song, having been downloaded more than 5.2 million times. It bested the likes of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" (nearly 4.7 million downloads), Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" (4.6 million) and the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" (4.3 million). And there was none of that funny downloading stuff when it came to the decade's most-played radio songs (generational divide, anyone?) a list topped by Nickelback's "How You Remind Me" — which was spun more than 1.2 million times since being released in 2001"
Phil, Jake and Jason rank radio edits (of songs), and vinyl records (which usually contain songs) on the List of Every Damn Thing. If you have something to add to the list, email it to list@everydamnthing.net (or get at us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook).SHOW NOTES: Jason sings the praises of Kool-Aid pickles in the episode. Phil & Jake are sure Kool-Aid pickles are good but they look like sea slugs. Phil was right that Vincent Price's spoken-word part on Michael Jackson's “Thriller” didn't appear on the song's 7” single. It did appear in the music video, though. Phil talks about a song by Pink that refers to satellite radio. He had the artist wrong; it was the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow". Radio stations censored the word "satellite" and we think it was just them flexing. There are three versions of “I Got 5 On It” by Luniz: the original one with explicit lyrics, the clean radio edit, and the Bay Area Ballas Remix. "Get Low" by Lil Jon& The East Side Boyz got heavy radio play using an edit that had a lot of profanity taken out, but they got to say "skeet" (which is slang for ejaculation) many times. Lil' Jon also apparently ran a label called Skeet Skeet Records. Phil mentions that the radio edit of “Country Grammar” by Nelly really helped Nelly crossover cause it was built on a children's singalong although the song was talking about a drive-by shooting with an Armsel Striker "Street Sweeper" which is an automatic shotgun. In the episode, Phil doesn't know the full name of the weapon but he had the right idea. Phil talks about the end of the first act of Scarface which is his favorite part of the movie. We talk about “Money For Nothing” by Dire Straits. The guy from Dire Straits also wrote “Private Dancer” by Tina Turner. Can you play a gold record? Most gold or platinum records are colored vinyl and you can play them but, like Phil speculates, it's usually a random record that's been painted so if you buy Bruce Springsteen's Human Touch platinum record and play it, it might be Legs by ZZ Top. Taylor Swift's album Evermore is the one Jake talks about but can't remember the name. ALSO DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE:demolition derbies * “Tainted Love” by Soft Cell * “Truth Hurts” by Lizzo * “Night Moves” by Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band * “MacArthur Park” by Donna Summer * “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown * “Back that Thang Up” by Juvenile * intro to “Back that Azz Up” * “Dre Day” by Dr. Dre * “Let's Get it Started In Here” by Black Eyed Peas * “Mind Playing Tricks on Me” by Geto Boys * metatextuality * “Dope Man” by NWA * “Humpty Dance” by Digital Underground * Showgirls * “Tutti Frutti” by Little Richard * McRib * daylight saving time * “1999” by Prince * “Do You Know the Way to San Jose” by Dionne Warwick * speed limits * Cannonball Run * public humiliation * fast fashion * cassette tapes * compact discs * Spinderella * Crocs * books * Allman & Woman * podcasts * ducks * Bill PaxtonBelow are the Top Ten and Bottom Top items on List of Every Damn Thing as of this episode (for the complete up-to-date list, go here):TOP TEN: Dolly Parton - person interspecies animal friends - idea sex - idea Clement Street in San Francisco - location Prince - person It's-It - food Cher - person Pee-Wee Herman - fictional character Donald Duck - fictional character Hank Williams - person BOTTOM TEN:177. Here's the thing, D-Lovers: it's not that G-FORCE - a Disney movie that answers the unasked question "what if guinea pigs were spies?" - doesn't merit any criticism. There's far too many Black Eyed Peas needle drops for that to be the case. It's just that, in our hosts' estimation, it doesn't merit the amount of criticism it has received. Because at the end of the day, there are a lot worse spy movies than this that don't feature adorable guinea pigs adorably using tiny spy equipment. All we're saying is it seems like everyone had a good time making this movie, and we had a good time watching it, ok?
Hosts Chris Binning and Evan Cox discuss the anxiety and awkwardness that can stem from a visit to the dentist. Plus, Chris finds an army of bots, Evan remixes Boom Boom Pow, and they both love Ritz crackers.

This is the seconfd part of a two-part podcast where we chat to Manchester based singer, Rowetta about her life and love of music, her memories and experiences from School Hall's to Concert Halls, to life in Happy Mondays, her X-Factor adventure and other interesting stories from one of the most sampled and powerful female singers on the planet. This interview took place at the offices of Forever Mancheter who today occupy the same building that used to be home to The Boardwalk, the very place where Happy Monday's cut their teeth!Rowetta is secret voice on the Black Eyed Peas worldwide hit. “Boom Boom Pow” and is also the voice on the renowned 1989 track "Reach Out", which has been sampled by many, including Steve Angello, DJ Zinc and Todd Terry to name but a few. Steve Angello and Laidback Luke used Rowetta's voice for the hit dance tune “Be” which David Guetta and Hardwell often use it to open their dj sets, it is also used on the Steve Angello/Robin S hit “Show Me Love”. The original version was written by Rowetta with Sweet Mercy and it continues to be sampled and played globally today.Rowetta is also the original female singer with the recently reformed Madchester band, Happy Mondays, singing on all their hits, and touring the world. She played herself in the Michael Winterbottom film 24 Hour Party People and was Simon Cowell’s favourite and the last lady standing in the UK’s very first X Factor in 2004.Rowetta is also involved with and an ambassador of many charities and is passionate about Manchester.Forever Manchester is a charity that raises money to fund and support community activity across Greater Manchester, for more information please visit www.forevermanchester.com

I live with a super social twelve-year-old. Our home is conveniently located within biking and walking distance to a vast majority of her friends. Therefore, I interact with dozens, seemingly hundreds, of middle-schoolers on the reg. That means “regularly.” Not only do I hear, and apparently absorb (…totes…) their language, but I also hear, and often abhor, their music. At times, I’m tempted to let something much like this slip from my mouth, “Music is horrible today.” Guess what, though? It’s not true. What I’d really be saying is, “When I was a kid…our shitty pop music was less shitty than this generation’s shitty pop music.” But see, shitty pop music is shitty pop music is shitty pop music. And also, all art is relative, and personal, and wrought with nostalgic, emotional overlay. I realized this as Jen played, “Hit the Quan” for me. If you stream the podcast just below this post, you can hear both the song and the insights. For those of you who’ll just read, and to assure myself that, indeed, every decade’s shitty pop…let’s call it Poop Music, is merely soon-to-be-dated Poop, I did some research. I use the term “research” quite loosely. What I really did was look at the “List of Billboard Top 100 chart achievements by decade” on Wikipedia, within which I found the top songs of each decade back to 1958. That’s right, 1958. People, Wikipedia is absolutely wonderful for many things. Not serious academic research, and not as a solitary source. Don’t dismiss it out of hand just because it’s crowd-sourced. While it only takes one dick to ruin something, the crowd generally trumps the dick. However, also realize that the community created a 1958 – 1969 “decade” because, I dunno, the dick won there. So, for any of you who’ve claimed, in your best crotchety old-man/old-woman demeanor, “Music ain’t like it used to be,” feast your eyes on these lists. (And hell, link through to the videos to feast your ears as well!) Keep in mind, there are absolute gems of pop perfection in each decade…and there are heaping mounds of steaming shit as well. All the way back to the decade that began in, uh…1958. I won’t try to convince you which songs here are genius, which are formulaic, which are immediately forgetful, unforgettable, and which are vomit-worthy. I only ask you to keep track of your reactions as you travel back…and be completely honest with yourself. Because a turd by any other name would smell as putrid. Here goes: 2010’s – “Songs,” and artists (by total weeks at number one) “Uptown Funk,” Mark Ronson featuring Bruno mars (14)“Blurred Lines,”* Robin Thicke featuring T.I. and Pharrell (12)*No-boobies version****If you like boobies, and who doesn’t like boobies (?!), just google search: blurred lines unrated“See You Again,” Wiz Khalifa featuring Charlie Puth (12)“We Found Love,” Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris (10)“Happy,” Pharrell Williams (10)“Tik Tok,” Kesha (9)“Call Me Maybe,” Carly Rae Jepson (9)“One More Night,” Maroon 5 (9)“Royals,” Lorde (9)“Somebody That I Used to Know,” Gotye featuring Kimbra (8)“All About That Bass,” Meghan Trainor (8) 2000’s – “Songs,” and artists (by total weeks at number one) “We Belong Together,” Maria Carey (14)“I Gotta Feeling,” The Black Eyed Peas (14)“Lose Yourself,” Eminem (12)“Yeah!,” Usher featuring Lil John and Ludacris (12)“Boom Boom Pow,” The Black Eyed Peas (12)“Independent Woman,” Destiny’s Child (11)“Irreplaceable,” Beyonce (10)“Low,” Flo Rida featuring T-Pain (10)“Maria Maria,” Santana featuring The Product G&B (10)“Dilemma,” Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland (10)“Foolish,” Ashanti (10)“Gold Digger,” Kanye West featuring Jamie Fox (10) 1990’s – “Songs,” and artists (by total weeks at number one) “One Sweet Day,” Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men (16)“I Will Always Love You,” Whitney Houston (14)“I’ll Make Love to You,” Boyz II Men (14)“Candle in the Wind ‘97/Something About the Way You Look Tonight,” Elton John (14)“Macarena,” Los Del Rio (14)“End of the Road,” Boyz II Men (13)“The Boy is Mine,” Brandy and Monica (13)“Smooth,” Santana featuring Rob Thomas (12)“Un-Break My Heart,” Toni Braxton (11)“I Swear,” All-4-One (11)“I’ll Be Missing You,” Puff Daddy and Faith Evans featuring 112 (11) 1980’s – “Songs,” and artists (by total weeks at number one) “Physical,” Olivia Newton-John (10)****I never realized how gay this video is, literally and in 80’s vernacular.“Bette Davis Eyes,” Kim Carnes (9)“Endless Love,” Diana Ross and Lionel Richie (9)“Every Breath You Take,” The Poice (8)“I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,”** Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (7)**I also love Rocky Road“Ebony and Ivory,”** Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder (7)**this“Billie Jean,” Michael Jackson (7)“Call Me,” Blondie (6)“Lady,” Kenny Rogers (6)“Centerfold,” The J. In either case, we present to you, “Now That’s What I Call Poop Music!” Oh…and at the end? “Paid In Full (7 Minutes of Madness Remix).” Pump up the volume, pump up the volume, chkuh-chk-chk-chk Pump that bass!

Spend any time talking to the players in the local folk, Americana, and singer/songwriter scenes, and I guarantee the name Jethro Easyfields will come up, usually connected to a story that should be made into a song, or possibly an episode of some sitcom about being a musician. I've never had the nerve to ask how many of these are true and how many are just part of the mystique. Really, I don't want to know. I have my own ideas, and I don't want them tampered with. As a prolific songwriter, poet, artist, and personality Jethro is one of those guys who just seems out of time in this era where music is either over-produced synthetic pop or over-driven guitars played percussively out of tune. Jethro is organic. Jethro is about the story. Jethro is about actually listening to the music. In an age where the Black Eyed Peas have a top-selling album and the world's ear and all they can contribute to the conversation is "Boom Boom Pow," Jethro gives us The Outland -- eleven stories, eleven characters, and at least eleven different styles and moods. Better still, as he puts it, he went dumpster diving through a couple hundred songs in stash of old, unused tracks to find them. Am I the only one who sees the irony here? Links referenced in the show: Jethro Easyfields can be found here | | | His latest album, The Outland, is available via . It was produced by the ubiquitous . I can't think of a better way to start 2010 off than to remember 2009. Okay, maybe not everything from last year, rather the fantastic house music that made us dance, sing and celebrate! 2009 was the year a diva was realized. Yup, I'm talking about Kelly Rowland. So she found herself without a record label and at the same time collaborated with David Guetta to create the most memorable song of the year. "When Love Takes Over" blew our minds, while rattling dance floors across the world; once it previewed at WMC, it was unstoppable. Looks like life without Destiny's Child, much less Sony is looking pretty damn good these days. However, she still has that pesky little thing to wrap up with Sony. Destiny's Child is slated to release a final album later this year. Then again, if Beyonce (another winner this year) doesn't stop bombarding us with new material, a new album by DC may even be delayed. David Guetta was definitely the man of the year. His collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas brought us two monster smashes "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Got a Feelin." Not only were these monster club hits, but also massive Top 40 hits that tied up the number one spot for most of the spring. Word up to the old school tired-ass hip-hop artists; either change with the times or your ass will be left behind. Frankly, I don't care if I ever hear another song with "shawty" in it again. Pu-leaze! The minute some white bread tween like Jesse McCartney starts using it, it's time for a change! Regardless, you can thank David and the BEP for breaking that stale mold of Top 40 radio in the U.S. Now let's see what other pop artists do with it in 2010. Justin, you're up next my man. The sleeper hit of the year was "Release Me" by newcomer Agnes out of Sweden. Her meat and potatoes style of pop is not only well written but pretty damn catchy. Coupled with the right producer (Cahill), her music translated quite well onto the dancefloor. In fact, I'd say she gave 2008's newcomer Solange a definite run for her money in that category. While the biggest news of the year came from the death of one of pop music's biggest icons Michael Jackson, it was Lady GaGa who drained the rest of our attention. "The Fame" was released in August of 2008 to critical acclaim by the only sites that matter. Arjanwrites, Electroqueer and Popjustice all praised the album with its dance-ready electronic beats and pop sensibility. While the lead single "Just Dance" was blowing up in clubs all around the world, true to fashion Top 40 radio resisted until January of 2009 before the GaGa came crashing through their doors and forced them to add it to rotation or risk becoming irrelevant (not that they aren't already). The rest was history. Spawning four number singles and dance hits, LG was on a roll. By the end of the year, we were treated to "The Fame Monster," a collection of eight brand new songs with its lead single "Bad Romance" taking the lead. I fully expect to be hearing LG on the radio and in the clubs 24/7 throughout 2010. Make no mistake, she is a star of her own making and there just isn't anyone that can match her talent. In fact, when publicity whores like the Fred Phelps bible-thumping wingnuts clan get involved, you know she's doing something right! Starting things off, we got Beyonce's "Single Ladies" whose video spawned a million imitations. No doubt, she was at the top of her game in 2009 with chart-topping hits like, "Halo" and "Sweet Dreams" among many, that kept Beyonce in the news. We also have Lady GaGa's second release "Poker Face," which even got the 100-year-old Baba Wawa reciting the words "bluffin with my muffin" on national TV during an interview with the Chanel clad Princess of the dancefloor. You also get a double shot of Mariah and P!nk's latest. I'm still waiting for LaFace to release the absolutely beautiful "I Don't Believe You" as a single (fingers tapping on the desk). Unfortunately,

The song Me Quiere y No Me Quiere (Love Me Yeah Love Me Not) undoubtedly brings an exciting new sound to the Latin music scene. An undeniably infectious Spanglish combination of dance/pop and hip-hop that cannot be ignored. It currently stands at No. 2 in the DJ Latinos Dance Charts above Boom Boom Pow by Black Eyed Peas and Just Dance by Lady Gaga as well as at No. 8 in the Latin National Record Pool Directors Association ! www.josiecarr.com
Scott and Rowdy discuss Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow," revisit The Lonely Island's "I'm On A Boat" and talk about the Shroud of Turin.

Two days ago, I had the chance to finally preview 'Take 2' and decided I wasn't exactly feeling the Bimbo Jones mix of "Push Up Word Up" and decided to swap it out for the club mix instead. That version is more of a breakbeat mix very similar to the original 80s version by Cameo, which I like much better. While I was at it, I went ahead and made some minor improvements to a couple of songs. I decided that the Simply Red and Freemasons with Sophie Ellis- Bextor mixes were a little too slow for my taste. So, I increased the BPM from 125 to 128 giving both songs an energy boost. It's not as significant as you might think since the vocals remain the same and don't come out sounding like the Chipmunks. I've done this before, but not after I had already posted the mix. I also remastered the Freemasons mix to bring it up to par with the songs surrounding it. The quality was a little lacking so I added some light compression to toughen it up a bit. Anyway, if you want the final version, the mix along with a new .cue file has been replaced and is available for download. I have to say this has been a hectic week. I've had a lot on my plate and had all the mixes finished up on Sunday to get other work done. The only problem was a slew of new promos showed up. There were several worthwhile mixes that I added to this third installation, making it longer than previously projected. I don't think anyone will mind and I'm guessing that the fourth will have some changes as well, though I can't guarantee the length. I just thought I'd put that out there before some of you get all up in my face about the length of the mix. Regardless, once you hear it, you'll be glad I made the additions. Starting things off with quite possibly the hardest songs I've had to mix in a long time. Ashley Tisdale's "It's Alright, It's Okay" and Kaci Battaglia's "Crazy Possessive (I'll Muck You Up)" are too big and I mean very BIG electro house tunes that you'll no doubt be hearing everywhere this summer. The problem I had was the rolling beats that Dave Aude and Cahill used as the foundation for the songs. The best way to mix in and out of these is to have a song in a perfect key that has no build-up or breakdown at the end. Otherwise, you can forget it. After messing around with it yesterday evening, I finally decided to move them to the front of the mix and took the easy way out of "Crazy Possessive" to keep things moving along. Speaking of Dave Aude, this guy is on fire! Last year I was complaining that he was kind of hit or miss in his mixes, but it seems that everything he's touched this year (and that's been a lot) is nothing short of magic! So I want to give a big shout out to Dave for rocking the floors in 2009! We also get hot new tunes by Erika Jayne and Amanda Wilson. Erika's new single "Give You Everything" (currently only available on iTunes ) is jam-packed with great mixes from Dave Aude, DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, and Moto Blanco. I would definitely add this to your essential list as it has something for every floor. Equally, Amanda's "Make It Real" is one of three brand new songs from the budding diva in this series all begging for attention. I'm not sure when she plans to stop and smell the roses, but I'll take that amazing voice anytime. Now, will someone please give this woman a record deal, like yesterday? Other songs already making a lot of noise are the Black Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" and Lady GaGa's latest "Love Game". Both songs are already burning up the dancefloor and if it isn't where you're at, then request it. The DJ will thank you. Rounding the mix out, we get a hot new single from 80's freestyle artist Safire. "Exotique" is another essential song that comes packed with great remixes by Mike Rizzo, Johnny Vicious, Jamie J. Sanchez and Mark Alston. Once again, something for every floor that anyone would be a fool to pass up. Finally, we have an amazingly sweet pop song "Armageddon" by newcomer Jess...
