Truly productive people are always producing due to systems and routines they have established; I call these trains. They have their trains humming along which allows work-life balance. And balance means motion. If you are riding your bike, you are in motion while balancing. But when you slow down, you may lean to one side taking you out of balance. The same is true in life. But truly productive people can spot that imbalance and pivot and iterate to get back to balanced.  It's a lot harder to start a stopped train… It's a lot easier on your balance if you iterate, opposed to stopping and then trying to get the trains up and running again. Let me refresh your memory of March 2020 when all of our trains stopped. It took almost three years to get all the trains running again. Do you remember how much energy it took? Some trains slowed down too much and had to permanently pull into the station, going out of business.  And recently with CrowdStrike going down for the airlines. It's just not easy to get the planes back up in the air. There is a trickle down stacking effect. The earlier flights didn't go out so they needed to get those people on their way before they could accommodate current time flights. It took a lot of manpower to get those planes back in the air and caught up on their scheduled flight times. And the next likely time we can anticipate our trains stopping is the election…EEK!  You can choose to get tunnel vision and focus solely on the election and possible outcomes. And then get emotional for the few days that follow. You know what productive people will be doing? They will produce until election day, go vote, and go back to producing. Truly productive people recognize what is worth the investment of their time and money. They want to effectively and productively use their time.  What took me out of balance There I was chugging along with my trains. I survived Greg's surgery in December, the quest to solve Grayson's eczema for a while now, and other family needs for my time. I prepared the trains for the time I'd be gone in England. We had a fabulous trip and I jumped right into work when I got back. But something funny happened. You know I have told you your house will feel off and that is when it's time to iterate or reset, because organization and balance is a feeling? Well, I didn't do my normal summer reset. By the end of August, I had to take time off just to get the house back to normal. Why had my systems failed me?  They did not fail me but I wasn't accounting for how much my family had needed me, not to mention all the time I gave to the remodels of Joey's condo and Abby's downstairs apartment. I realized I was completely over committed. Productive people can look at their systems and routines and pivot due to recognizing something like being over committed. I started to lean towards home and needed to get back in balance. I made three big decisions to put me back in balance. I have altered some plans at work to allow more home time. I have decided to take one less class to again free up more time to give to my family who have been in a season of needing more of me. This will lighten my load and allow me to stay in balance. You have to know when to take some cars off the train and send them to the yard until you can maintain them again.  EPISODE RESOURCES: The Sunday Basket® The Paper Solution® The Productive Home Solution Podcast 10 Year Anniversary Giveaway Sign Up for the Organize 365® Newsletter  Did you enjoy this episode? (@ourpassionistrance) He is also a resident DJ on "The DJ Sessions" and a resident DJ for In Motion Productions.   Serjey Andre Kul was born in the capital of Belarus. His passion for music developed at a very young age, with his father introducing him to the earliest electronic music from the 80s & 90s, such as Duran Duran and Depeche mode. By age six, Serjey began recording music to cassette from radio stations, which was the beginning of his mixtapes and mixes!   In 2000 he moved to Seattle, Washington, at age 11, where he was introduced to Trance music through Seattle's #1 Trance show titled "Nocturnal Transmission with DJ Tamm" on the local dance radio station C89.5fm. His Radio shows began to get attention, and he was asked to start playing as a resident on "The DJ Sessions" for iTVNW, also known as TDJS, an internet show that showcases the best local and international DJs. He has been a resident on the show for 4+ years. Being a resident for TDJS, he has now appeared on the new Twitch Featured Partner series "The DJ Sessions" over 40 times in the last four years while rotating between other local and internationally recognized DJs.   Recently, Serjey joined a local promotion company specializing in Trance and Progressive House music called "In Motion Productions." Serjey Andre Kul Pt. 2 on the Rooftop Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 3/23/24   Serjey Andre Kul is a Seattle-based Trance and House DJ and the Producer of weekly podcasts, "My Passion is Trance" and "Our Passion is Trance & Friends. He immediately fell in love with this genre of music and knew Trance was the music for him.   His passion for Trance was so strong that he wanted to introduce this music to others and decided that he could do that best as a DJ. So he began teaching himself to mix, and after countless hours of hard work learning this new trade, Serjey successfully compiled his first weekly mix show, "A Trip in Trance," aired in 2008 on Trance. Fm radio. Later he founded "My Passion is Trance" and "Our Passion is Trance & Friends" to continue promoting the music he loves.    His mix shows are now being broadcast on iTunes, Mixcloud, Podbean, Spotify, and iHeartRadio, as well as other sites. Recently, Serjey joined a local promotion company specializing in Trance and Progressive House music called "In Motion Productions." In Motion has worked with multiple clubs in the Seattle and Oregon area and brought some of the Top names in the industry, such as Markus Schulz, Ferry Corsten, Roger Shah, and Gabriel & Dresden. In Motion has thrown and promoted multiple shows weekly, and Serjey is a rising talent amongst their resident DJs. Additionally, Serjey has played as direct support or opened for shows featuring headliners such as Binary Finary, Talla 2XLC, Ashley Wallbridge, Darude, Neelix, Mark Sherry, Indecent Noise, Amir Hussain, and Super8 & Tab, to name a few. He believes his purpose is to share music and spread happiness to everyone.   About The DJ Sessions - “The DJ Sessions” is a Twitch/Mixcloud "Featured Partner” live streaming/podcast series featuring electronic music DJ's/Producers via live mixes/interviews and streamed/distributed to a global audience. Today we welcomed Aaron Everitt back to The LoCo Experience studios for our Northern Colorado real estate and water update, and as usual we got into all kinds of additional topics.  Aaron had recently been a part of a historical tour of sorts, and we had some discussion about the history of Fort Collins, and the many subdivisions that his family enterprise built throughout the last 50+ years -, and we spent a lot of time talking about water - rising cots, declining liquidity (so to speak), and the impacts to new home inventory and pricing in various markets.  From there, we get a business update from InMotion, and discuss a new LLC Aaron has recently formed, Best Craft - which handles distribution chores for several microbrewery enterprises along with craft distillers and even a soon-to-come THC water product.  We jump from there into some discussion around the Israel/Hamas situation  and into our usual liberty topics.  Aaron has been releasing a series of Video Essays on X.com - written essays transformed into storyboard-type videos, he's been getting a lot of traction and engagement with titles such as INFLATION and THE GRIEVANCES and WHAT IF WE ARE THE BAD GUYS.  As usual, it's a no-topics-off-limits kind of conversation, and as always - I learned some new things and so will you! - so please join me for my most recent conversation with Aaron Everitt on The LoCo Experience! Episode Sponsor: InMotion, providing next-day delivery for local businesses. On this week's episode, you will understand your subconscious mind, and your subconscious limiting beliefs, a little better: Where do they come from? Are they serving you? Should you ditch them and go for new ones? As Don Miguel Ruiz would say, humans before us have designed a "dream of the planet", or "society's dream", and we've been raised to believe and perpetuate that belief system... But it might be serving you less than you think. If you want to believe that your dreams are possible, you've come to the right place: whatever your mind believes, you can achieve.RESOURCES:Darnall, B. D. (2010) Mirror Therapy. One year after introducing its new 24/7 automatic traffic ticketing system, New York City speed violations have reportedly dropped by 30%. Small mode shift leads to big gains A good argument for why motorists should want to see more ebikes on the road: “Studies have shown that a mere 10% shift from car drivers to bike riders has resulted in a 40% reduction in traffic congestion. Even if you never touch an ebike, you would benefit from supporting their increased use.” Lavoie buys Vanmoof Cult ebike brand VanMoof has been bought out of bankruptcy by Lavoie, a company that makes high-end scooters based on McLaren Applied's Formula 1 technology. VanMoof's bankruptcy earlier this summer had left its more than 190,000 riders in limbo. NYC Equitable Commute Project can't get off the ground New York City's ebike trade-in program—designed to help delivery workers swap low-quality, fire-prone bikes for safer, industry-certified models—is off to a rocky start. Since July, only three bikes have been traded in. Experts say the city's 60,000+ delivery workers aren't participating due to language barriers, cost of the trade-ins, and a slow and somewhat difficult approval process. Kenya is making the US programs look silly. Kenya has revealed the details of its ambitious new plan to encourage electric motorbikes adoption through a manufacturing partnership with the African startup Spiro. “[President] Ruto said Kenya currently had 1,000 of the new bikes, with another 10,000 on their way, and that Spiro had established a plant with the capacity to assemble 1,000 of the vehicles daily.” Vehicle Launches The new V13 Challenger from Chinese manufacturer InMotion is a thrilling new electric unicycle that reaches a staggering top speed of 87 mph (140 kph), powered by a 4,500W motor with a maximum torque of 300 Nm. Speaking of Specialized, the company just launched the new Globe Haul LT electric cargo bike, a heavy duty hauler equipped with a throttle and a top speed of 28 mph (45 kph). The $3,500 bike has a carrying capacity of 176 lbs (80kg), a 700W hub motor equipped with a torque sensor, and a UL-listed 772 Wh batter with a range of up to 90 miles (96 km). Cannondale's Cargowagen and Wonderwagen Neo are two newest additions on the electric cargo bike scene. The Cargowagen is a longtail that can haul up to 80kg, while the Wonderwagen has a giant front bay that can carry 100 kg, plus another 27kg on the rear rack. Both models are powered by capable Bosch motors, giving them a top speed of 28 mph (45 kph). Interview with Patrick Wirth Today we have Patrick Wirth on the show. Patrick is the VP of Mobility at Baloise Group. Baloise, is a European insurance company headquartered in Basel, Switzerland. Founded in 1863, the company offers a range of insurance and pension solutions, as well as investment products. VC. It is very cool to see an insurance company get into VC and take a different approach to not only investing but also the ongoing relationship these companies might have with an insurance company.

Washington undertook a tour of the ex-colonies to talk to ordinary citizens about his new government, and to imbue in them the idea of being one thing—Americans. In the fall of 2018, Nathaniel Philbrick embarked on his own journey into what Washington called “the infant woody country” to see for himself what America had become in the 229 years since. Writing in a thoughtful first person about his own adventures with his wife, Melissa, and their dog, Dora, Philbrick follows Washington's presidential excursions: from Mount Vernon to the new capital in New York; a monthlong tour of Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island; a venture onto Long Island and eventually across Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The narrative moves smoothly between the eighteenth and twenty-first centuries as we see the country through both Washington's and Philbrick's eyes
