This is big work my friend, and I know you've got this.     What's in it for you:  A poetic reminder that what we want for our world won't exist if we don't have it within A picture of what spiritual support looks like and why it's so important for this brave work How to take responsibility in an empowering way so you can step forward freely A phrase that may help you let go of the hard-to-let-go things  Some big questions to shift from powerlessness to standing in your power   Tools for Change:  Ever stuck in the cycle of blaming or desperately wanting something or someone to be different?  It's a painful place to be and totally powerless.  When you find yourself struggling with what you're experiencing, here are a few powerful questions to ask yourself:  What is it in the situation/person that I want to be different? One of the topics that is sitting with me from last week's episode with Jeanell Greene is avoidance of responsibility; particularly in circumstances where mainstream society supports our stance. In this personal episode, I share a vulnerable story of the moment I stopped blaming others for my pain and found true freedom in my life by owning how I was showing up. My hope is that this story inspires you to stand in your power to do the real work of changing the status quo. What's in the episode for you:  The question that released me from being a victim in my life How to determine what you can control and turn your focus inward The process for courageously shifting from blame to standing in your power Inspiration for what is possible when you own your life experiences Tools:  To increase your awareness around taking responsibility, I encourage you to start with these change-making tools:  Identify an area in your life where you are feeling victimized or taken advantage of, and ask yourself: what is the story I'm telling myself in this moment? Spend some time journaling around the question: “How am I showing up when I believe this story to be true?” Need a supportive circle to grow your change-making skills with?  Reach out and ask about our upcoming programs: hello@humconsulting.ca Check out our upcoming Stepping Into Your Essence Retreat happening on Feb 5th, 2022: https://www.lindamackie.ca/2021-stepping-into-your-essence Gary Zukav and Linda Francis, Seat of the Soul Institute https://seatofthesoul.com/

As change-makers, receiving support is one of the most important things we can teach ourselves, because only together will we solve the problems that the world faces today. Listen in if you've struggled with receiving support or feel like you're better off doing things on your own.  My hope is that you leave this episode with an openness to invite your dream team into your life.   What's in this episode for you: A story of how good our accomplishments can feel when we don't do them alone How illness forever changed my relationship with receiving The 5 people to have by your side as you go through life An exciting announcement of an upcoming opportunity to be together You can follow Sandra Yancey here @sandrayancey and join her Sip Tip and Talk here https://www.ewomennetwork.com/page/sip-tip-talk Poem: Starlings in winter by Mary Oliver Chunky and noisy, but with stars in their black feathers, they spring from the telephone wire and instantly they are acrobats in the freezing wind. And now, in the theater of air, they swing over buildings, dipping and rising; they float like one stippled star that opens, becomes for a moment fragmented, then closes again; and you watch and you try but you simply can't imagine how they do it with no articulated instruction, no pause, only the silent confirmation that they are this notable thing, this wheel of many parts, that can rise and spin over and over again, full of gorgeous life. Ah, world, what lessons you prepare for us, even in the leafless winter, even in the ashy city. I am thinking now of grief, and of getting past it; I feel my boots trying to leave the ground, I feel my heart pumping hard. I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbable Tools for change: Take a look at your life and ask yourself if you have these people in it. If not, set your intention to find them.  Cheerleader – loyal, cheering you on no matter what crazy idea you bring forth Challenger – encourages you to think bigger than what you are thinking Push you out of your comfort zone – see when you're playing safe, and ask you to do differently Motivator / Mentor – way ahead of you, can guide you Safe space – tell deepest fears to, get angry with, be messy together Thanks to Sandra Yancey, the CEO of eWomen Network for inspiring these ideas.

Today is a very significant day in Canadian history. It marks the 1st National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. In this episode I gently remind us through story telling what happens when we let fear determine our actions and provide you with actions and questions that contribute to a different way of being. Today is a reminder of how important it is to take responsibility for being the change we want to see. What's in this episode for you: A poem by an Ojibway writer who turned his pain into art that heals Stories from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's report on Missing Children and Unmarked Burials Ideas for honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation  Introspective questions that foster curiosity, love and compassion Quote: An excerpt from Embers by Richard Wagamese It's all about opening, really. When I open myself to the world and its possibilities - even its hurts - I become whole. But when I choose to close, my life becomes fraught with struggle. Everything I do becomes about shielding myself rather than inviting good energy to fill me. Everything is energy, so I try to let the negative pass through me, rather than holding onto it.  Tools for change: If you have some people you feel you can deepen this discussion with, here are a few questions you can explore in a curious and heart-felt conversation : What feelings come up for you on this day?   What lesson does this day hold for you that you want to carry forward?   What is one way you can express acceptance of, or celebrate another person?   What is one way you can express acceptance of, or celebrate yourself?
