Let's talk hiring! In this podcast episode, I thought it would be important to talk about why most business owners will not hire or outsource their tasks to others to complete. This topic came about when I was conversing with a close business friend of mine, Dottie Reynolds. Dottie had a very intriguing question, which made me wonder why business owners hire coaches to be taught to do things on their own versus outsourcing that workload. When I first started my business, I was guilty of doing everything on my own. I am capable of doing the majority of the facets of my career, but having my team has made everything so much easier to concentrate and execute. I absolutely feel like a girl that got visible! In this episode, I speak about at least 7 different reasons as to why someone will not be hired, someone else for their work and things you should consider when making that decision. Whether it is due to cost, perception of what you think is hard work, or not trusting others to work on your business niche, every business owner has their own reason. You'll learn in this episode:   What are the typical reasons someone would avoid hiring someone, for their business?  What are the top reasons why someone will not outsource work?  Why outsourcing may be considered expensive versus getting coaching?   How to know when it is time to outsource that workload? I hope this episode really helps you to invest in yourself and not always rely on outsourcing talent. Resources You can check out Dottie Reynolds: https://www.facebook.com/dottie.reynolds10

Did you know that podcasting is one of three sustainable places to make your content? Podcast SEO is extremely important and has gained an immense increase in attraction online and within the business community. Even major companies are expanding their products to host and invest into the podcast community. I've been within the podcast space for years, and it still shocks me when I find out SEO is not being used. People are really struggling, because although SEO is pretty old and podcasting is old, no one is marrying the two. The best way for podcasters to grow and be seen is by using SEO, because with SEO, we intentionally make content our audience is looking for. It is no longer enough to post a show or have many episodes, there has to be intention behind it. Now, this increase in investment around podcast SEO, can be seen as both positive and not so great due to the increased competition. However, using SEO with your podcast works and we must start acknowledging it. In this episode you'll learn: What podcast SEO is? Why is it important as a podcaster to use podcast SEO? Today's episode is to provide accountability to my Girl Get Visible listeners, on how you view your metrics and KPI. In recent discussions, I've seen business owners, not willing to own up to,  whatever metrics they are measuring their business by. For example, in SEO, metrics we may measure ourselves by are email subscribers, bounce rates, keyword rankings, and even page speed, to name a few. If you've been in a few SEO training sessions already, you may hear some lofty metric goals, but don't scorn them. If you see a metric that's relevant in your industry and immediately resort to lowering them, you are doing yourself a disservice. Nothing is unattainable and you have the power to succeed, beyond your wildest imagination. Now, it may not happen overnight, but make it a goal and continue to work on it. Listen to this word of encouragement on why metrics should not be seen as a myth, but instead truth to the success of your business. What, we need to be realistic about as business owners? I really hope you enjoy this episode, and don't forget to share with me the goals you are trying to achieve in the comments.

Conversations that use technical terms that typical business owners do not understand, are common. A prime example of this is the idea of ranking factors. Think to yourself as you are listening to this episode and ask, Do I know what a ranking factor is or why it matters. Business owners and entrepreneurs may not be familiar with ranking factors, because it is not always spoken about. When using SEO as a strategy, having customers come to your site is important, but you are just beginning. If you are not meeting your business goals, such as increased sales or memberships, it could be because there are other factors you need to pay attention to.  Think of ranking factors as a search engine scorecard. You are constantly being graded based on your site's interaction with your customers. Depending on the ranking factor, the higher or lower it is, the more successful your site and content will be in your business goals. Google measures your site, by looking at factors, such as, your site's relevance and popularity, your site's speed and even how quickly someone clicks that exit button. In today's episode, I talk about major ranking factors, why we should care about them and how to get factors into the right ranking. Do you want to know how ranking factors affect your SEO? Ya'll, my bushes are gone and I am so upset! The absolute audacity. So, my husband and I decided to focus on our home's landscaping this year, guess who was really proud of our new budding bushes and growing vine! I was….. This was going to be our home makeover and I could not wait to see what it was going to look like next year. But then, everything took a turn when I went out to check on my bushes and only one was left, with three small leaves.  As I was going through a world of emotions, in true Akilah fashion, I remembered that this feeling I was having was familiar. As a business owner, we have all experienced the feeling of our expertise, product, or service being looked over by others. The feeling where you've worked so hard to get your business where it is today, and still no interviews, limited sales, and not enough traffic to your site. Just like my bushes that were not “seen” and mistakenly “removed”, entrepreneurs can sometimes be overlooked by others! As an SEO expert and coach, majority of my business is built on the foundation of VISIBILITY for myself, my clients and my community. *cues theme music* In this episode, I talk about how to grow visibly to your customers, search engines and others. You know how much time, effort and sacrifices you've made within your business, but that does not mean other people are seeing that through their own lens. It's not about what's visible to you, it's about what's visible to others. So I have a few questions for you: Are you uncertain about the visibility of your business? Do you think your business and expertise is being overlooked? Do you feel like you just want to give up on that business, podcast or even blog? Interested in tips on ways to grow more visibly? This episode will give you some laughs, tips, and motivation to get your head back into the game.
