The This Connected with Catholic.dad podcast has been a true blessing to me, especially during these challenging times of the pandemic. It has provided nourishment for my faith and instilled a sense of holiness within me. One of the greatest strengths of this podcast is the wide range of guests and topics that are featured. It offers a diverse perspective on various aspects of life and spirituality, allowing listeners to gain valuable insights from different individuals. I particularly enjoyed the episode titled "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" with Father Tyler and Father Alex. The banter and occasional roasting between the priests and Arnel was both entertaining and hilarious. But beyond the humor, the episode emphasized the importance of keeping it real while staying holy, which resonated deeply with me. These types of episodes have the potential to draw more people to Christ, especially through their relatability.
On the downside, there were moments when I felt that certain topics could have been explored further or expanded upon. While the podcast covers a wide range of subjects, there were instances where I wished for a deeper dive into certain areas. However, this is merely a minor critique in an otherwise outstanding podcast.
In conclusion, I am truly grateful for discovering The This Connected with Catholic.dad podcast in the midst of this pandemic. It has become an essential part of my spiritual journey and has had a positive impact on my faith. The host's good intentions for the church, youth, and San Bernardino Diocese shine through each episode. The diversity in guests and perspectives promotes understanding and encourages open-mindedness. I encourage everyone to give this podcast a listen as it provides inspiration and growth opportunities for both Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
Send us a textMeli Ramos can be like any young adult you will meet but there is something different about her. A sense of peace and tranquility. This episode gives us an opportunity to have a conversation with a young person who felt called to serve in religious life and discerned out of that life to be called to serve in a different vocation. She is a second generation immigrant and one who one day may have that patronage.Remember to like, subscribe, and recommend to a friend. Contact us at catholic.dad50@gmail.com. Send us a textIn this episode we journey to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert to have a conversation with two young Catholics on fire with the faith. Genevieve Knight is a 28 year old cradle Catholic born and raised in Rancho Mirage, CA. Though she came from a Catholic background, it was not until the age of 21, while in her third year of college, she experienced a ‘simple, yet deeply profound' encounter with Christ which changed the trajectory of her spiritual life forever. Genevieve shares her story with This Connected not only as a young adult on fire for the Truth, beauty, and goodness of the Catholic faith, but as one who seeks to be a witness to every person searching for the story God is constantly writing upon his and her heart.Brian Ruberg is a 22-year old adult convert to Catholicism. Born on Rowlett, Texas and raised in La Quinta, California, Brian was brought up as a Non-denominational Protestant Christian but saw little value in his religion despite never abandoning it. After a search for meaning and purpose through various outlets such as philosophy and the straight-edge punk movement, he became involved in the online political scene where he met many like-minded young men, many of whom were Catholic. Already experiencing gradual growth in Christ, he became curious and fascinated with the Church and its reverence and tradition, attending his first mass in Latin. Over the next three years, he began to grow in the faith and fall in love with the sacraments, eventually becoming fully initiated into the Catholic faith on December 21st, 2024. Brian now works with his parish's Young Adults Fellowship and maintains many friendships within the Church community and continues to grow and help other incoming Catholics grow their faith.Remember to like, subscribe, and recommend to a friend. The city of Fontana had placed a moratorium on building improvements in this section of the city thus halting Planned Parenthood's plans to perform abortions. On the day of the filming of this episode the City of Fontana extended that moratorium for another 12 months. This allows a stay on any abortions to be performed. Out of the dark. Nallely Perez at 14 years old was pregnant. Begrudgingly she chose life for her daughter. But it was not a fairy tale ending when she chose life. At least not yet. Her journey is one of inspiration and her story is the truth of many other women who find themselves today. In this episode we hear from Nallely Perez, a mother, a wife, and an abortion worker survivor. Listen to her story working at an abortion center and the listen to the why and what happens inside to people who work at these clinics. Listen to her story; it may not be much different than yours and maybe be the catalyst to bring about compassion to pray more and reach out to help those who find themselves employed at these clinics. Find out how she got out of that darkness and found herself in the light to help others be not victims of abortion through the organization that has fostered her vocation to be the voice of compassion. We also hear from Maria from Respect for Life of the Diocese of San Bernardino who at the posting of this episode is fighting against the opening of another Planned Parenthood Clinic in the city of Fontana, CA. Episode 130: Quarantine Vibes! After 2 years of being virus free, the COVID caught up to us at This Connected and it was not the vacation we wanted. We paused podcasting to quarantine and focus on our health. However, things continued to move around us. So in this rant episode Tony, and I along with Bethany chatted about our quarantine experience and things that happened while we were gone, like the Roe decision on June 24, 2022. We also talked about YAM updates. Shoutout to the newest YAM in the diocese which is Lucis Missio from San Secondo d'Asti in Guasti California. Follow them at lucismissio.org/ and on their intagram account @lucismissio .And while we were quarantined This Connected was interviewed by Ryan Coleman and independent journalist and an article was written about the podcast in the IEByte which is the Catholic newspaper for the Diocese of San Bernardino. We were honored and humbled to be a featured article and I guess now called a "ministry for the ears."**SEND US SOME EARS LIKE MICKEY MOUSE OR WHATEVER AND TONY WILL WEAR THEM.**Lastly we shared what episodes will be coming up on the show.To read the IEByte Article: https://www.icbyte.org/index.php/news/diocesan-news/87-featured-stories/2966-this-connected-podcast-is-a-ministry-for-the-ears We hope you liked this episode.
