Limiting beliefs are false beliefs that prevent us from pursuing our goals and desires. Limiting beliefs can keep you from doing important things, like achieving your health goals, slowing down applying for your dream job or finding the relationship you want (or leaving the one you don't want). Our beliefs put boundaries and limitations on what we perceive to be reasonable behavior. They can also keep you from doing unimportant things, like running through the streets naked or eating something that looks and smells unappealing to you. In fact, we need some limiting beliefs in order to, you know, limit us from doing some silly things but some limiting beliefs unnecessarily hold us back from who we want to become. I looked into the fearful eyes of a woman on the other side of my Facetime screen explaining to her that both of her parents' health from COVID-19 had declined rapidly and if she did not decide immediately, she would likely lose both parents within the hour. This week, Michal chats with fellow Wellness Warrior Liana Ledgerwood. Liana is an entrepreneur, mother of two little ones and a wife of a professional soccer player. After receiving her bachelors in education and becoming a school teacher she soon realized that she wanted to follow in her father's footsteps and be an entrepreneur. She left her teaching job to run a multi-million-dollar restaurant and eventually left that to open her own hot yoga studio. With a positive exit almost 5 years later she was on a journey of being a wife and mother and realized that the breastfeeding world needed a change. She taught herself how to sew, cut patterns and design and 4 years later she had created a nursing bra that was cute, sexy and functional and called the brand Milae Collective. Launching this company during a pandemic has not been easy especially when you include running two hot yoga studios and teaching 10 yoga classes per week. This mama is busy. Maintaining adequate nitric oxide levels is best recognized for the incremental advantages it offers if increasing blood flow and muscle oxygenation to the heart. Cardiovascular disease is being reported as one of the primary co-morbidities in the Covid-19 crisis. This week, Michal welcomes fellow Wellness Warriors Dr. Diana Driscoll whose unique experience as a patient has led to groundbreaking research, two patents to date, and a dramatic treatment paradigm shift for numerous "invisible illnesses". Now fully recovered, she is ready to share her story and practical experience at POTS Care. Dr. Diana Driscoll is an invisible illness patient, an author, speaker, patient advocate, researcher, inventor, clinical director, wife, and mother. Dr. Driscoll was disabled with an “invisible illness” including dysautonomia (POTS – Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS). This week, Beth & Michal welcome a fellow Wellness Warrior, Sara Banta, a Health Coach and busy mother of three who are now 12, 14 and 16 years old.
