Tasha Ghouri is a television personality, activist, dancer and model, most recognised for her stint on the 2022 Summer series of Love Island UK, with Tasha being the first deaf person to enter the Villa. Referring to being deaf as her ‘Superpower', Tasha was born deaf - with her parents identifying her disability when she was just 12 months old - and wears a cochlear implant in her right ear. She launched her own podcast ‘Superpowers with Tasha'' in February 2023, which focuses on normalising disabilities and explores what once made her feel like an outcast now being her greatest source of strength and community. Following her exit from Villa and over the last two years, Tasha became the first ever pre-loved brand ambassador for eBay and worked with the likes of brand ambassador for Ann Summers, Loreal Paris, and Essie. In 2021, she was praised for an ASOS campaign where she modelled for ASOS' earrings wearing the implant and became a figurehead in the deaf community. I'm really looking forward to sitting down with Tasha today to talk about her time during the filming of Love Island, but also to explore life after leaving the Villa; whether the Love Island bubble has truly burst and her work to normalise her differences throughout everything that she does. - Tasha's early life- The story behind Tasha's cochlear implant- Tasha reveals her struggle being deaf at school- Why it is essential that schools become accessible- Why Tasha nearly didn't go on Love Island- Tasha shares how accessible the Love Island villa is- Tasha reveals behind the scenes of her first day on Love Island- Tasha's experience with the Love Island psych team Hosted on Acast. A fascinating, vulnerable and inspirational conversation with Jacqueline Gold CBE, Executive Chair of Ann Summers. With female empowerment at the core of everything she does, Jacqueline has skyrocketed the brand, become one of the UK's richest women and faced life-changing personal challenges – a true ambassador for the mantra: ‘Anything is Possible'   Don't forget to share your takeaways and tag us on social media: @anythingispossiblebrand @iamhollymooreevents   Show notes: Episode one: We hear the story of scaling Ann Summers with true purpose: from breaking into a male-dominated industry, challenging the stereotypes and pandemic pivots.  And most importantly, Jacqueline shares her personal story, which has included life-changing obstacles she's dealt with through optimism, determination and true awe-inspiring grace.     We learn from Jacqueline about the incredible work she does to empower women in the bedroom, including inclusivity and raising awareness around what every woman needs to enjoy their sex life.  Through her own personal journey with breast cancer, Jacqueline has created a platform which allows women to understand their bodies and how different things including cancer treatment can have an impact on their sexual wellbeing, and has created products and understanding to fully support women no matter their situation.   The episode also sees Jacqueline share the heart-breaking story of losing her baby boy Alfie at just 8-months, following an emotional journey with IVF.   Empowering women in business is also incredibly important to Jacqueline, which led to create ‘WoW' – Women on Wednesdays - #WOW offers a place for women to network and celebrate each other's successes, whilst gaining support and advice to grow their businesses.   Jacqueline talks through challenging moments which have shaped her, the way she sees empowerment and the ways she continues to inspire others – a must-listen episode.     This episode's guest Jacqueline Gold CBE – Biography: Jacqueline Gold CBE is Executive Chair of Ann Summers, renowned for managing a business run by women, for women.  Jacqueline is an activist for women in business, championing female entrepreneurs and, through sharing her own experiences, aims to better the working environment for women. Her attitude towards female empowerment and gender equality inspires countless generations of women to pursue their dreams and celebrate their successes, not least her daughter Scarlett. After starting her career aged 21, Jacqueline has made Ann Summers the profitable success it is today through hard work, determination and a belief in a concept that had never been seen before. With no formal business training, Jacqueline ascribes her success to understanding women, good instincts and always listening to her customer. It was this business intuition and knowledge of the female customer that helped Jacqueline come up with the Ann Summers Party Plan idea, adapting the idea of ‘at home' parties to bring sex toys and lingerie to women in a new environment. Jacqueline's proposal was initially met with resistance but her idea was proven an instant success with hundreds of women keen to become party organisers and even more wanting to attend parties themselves. This was the first step in developing the reimagined Ann Summers we know and love today, changing the sex lives of men and women in the UK forever. Jacqueline's career journey hasn't always been plain-sailing, with some difficult challenges along the way including one extremely frightening moment when she received a bullet in the post after setting out to bring sex to the high street. However, unperturbed, Jacqueline persevered and has achieved unparalleled success with Ann Summers.   Support Breast Cancer Now: www.breastcancernow.org/   Useful links & social platforms: www.jacquelinegold.com/ www.annsummers.com/ The meditation centre mentioned by Jacqueline: www.londonmeditationcentre.com/ ‘Why Meditate' book by Jillian Lavender Connect with Vanessa Gold , CEO of Ann Summers (Jacqueline's sister) uk.linkedin.com/in/vanessa-gold-b95537b7     More from Anything Is Possible: www.instagram.com/anythingispossiblebrand/ www.anythingispossiblebrand.co.uk/ Tik Tok: anythingispossiblebrand   Follow Holly Moore: www.instagram.com/iamhollymooreevents/ www.linkedin.com/in/makeeventshollymoore/ www.twitter.com/hollymoore   More from Make Events: www.instagram.com/makeeventsltd/ www.makeevents.co.uk www.hmevents.co.uk

Do you want to know how to make the impossible possible? Jacqueline Gold CBE, Chief Executive of Gold Group International, Ann Summers and Knickerbox, is a living, breathing example of an entrepreneur who achieved just that. In her early twenties, Jacqueline set off on her business adventure to revolutionise the way women view, feel and talk about sex, and since then, has disrupted the entire industry.  This week's Lightbulb Moment is taken from Holly's conversation with Jacqueline, where she shares how she unexpectedly coined the idea for her Ann Summers parties, and the barriers she had to overcome for her groundbreaking idea to be taken seriously by a business world of greying men.  Recalling how her career too began in a completely different way to what she had imagined, Holly explains her theory of why brands that understand their customer and what they fundamentally need, have the power to change the world even when nobody else can see it just yet.  This is a lesson from Holly in why you should trust the process, your gut and the universe, to achieve your dreams…  Listen to Jacqueline Gold's episode here.  Enjoying listening to these unfiltered chats? Penelope Wilton (After Life), Sophie Rundle (Peaky Blinders), Angela Griffin (Harlots) et Sharon Rooney (Finding Alice) forment le quatuor principal.
