Melissa and Kate first met when their sons played flag football together as kids. In this sobering episode, Melissa shares the terrifying story of how her 14-year-old son was approached by an older man on a public dock in Newport Beach in the middle of the day. Claiming he was suicidal, the man drew the teenager into an increasingly personal conversation, asked for his phone number, and later attempted to contact him again through text messages. After investigating with the help of a local Nextdoor post and Megan's Law records, Melissa discovered the man is a convicted violent sexual predator with a history involving kidnapping, lewd acts with a minor, and a stabbing that led to prison time. Melissa explains how she uncovered the truth, the emotional toll on her family, and why she wants other parents to understand how predators can manipulate young people through fear, sympathy, and emotional pressure—even in seemingly safe public places. Friday, I interviewed Fremont HD55 Representative Joel Guggenmos about his re-election campaign. There had been some rumblings about him living for a brief period outside of his district. He and his wife had their rent increased 600% and so they moved. For a few months, the Guggenmoses lived in a camper a short distance outside of his district. When they found a home they could afford, Joel and his wife moved back. Fremont County Clerk Julie Freese told the Cow Pie that he sold his home, bought a different one and then moved back. This, of course, blew up on social media. Saturday morning, Guggenmos issued a statement clarifying that has never owned a house. The Cow Pie, for their part, added an editor's note to their original article...at the bottom, where few people will ever see it. I spoke with Joel early this morning to get an update. Also included in this episode is the original interview I did with him on Cowboy State Politics Live.

The Philadelphia Union's 2025 season came to an end Sunday night, as they fell to NYCFC 1–0 thanks to Union slayer Maxi Moralez's goal. The main storyline from the match wasn't the goal itself, but the performance of former Union goalkeeper Matt Freese, who denied the Union on five separate scoring chances. Todd and José discuss the latest news, including Philadelphia Union Sporting Director Ernst Tanner being investigated by MLS after a report published by The Guardian detailed allegations of sexist, racist, and homophobic behavior from Tanner spanning seven years during his time at the club. They also share their thoughts on the match, with topics including: how much the Union's 22-day layoff affected their performance, whether Frankie Westfield and Mikael Uhre should have started over Nathan Harriel and Tai Baribo, and how Matt Freese and Maxi Moralez continue to haunt the Union.
