Happy Holidays Kids! Doc and Angus wish everyone a Merry Christmas as they review The Dark Knight's take on 'A Christmas Carol', Batman Noel by Lee Bermejo. Batman: Noel https://www.amazon.com/Batman-Noel-LEE-BERMEJO-ebook/dp/B00FP1T2US/ Inspired by Charles Dickens' immortal classic A Christmas Carol, BATMAN: NOEL features different interpretations of The Dark Knight, along with his enemies and allies, in different eras. Along the way, Batman must come to terms with his past, present and future as he battles villains from the campy 1960s to dark and brooding menaces of today, while exploring what it means to be the hero that he is. Members of Batman's supporting cast enact roles analogous to those from A Christmas Carol, with Robin, Catwoman, Superman, The Joker and more playing roles that will be familiar to anyone who knows Dickens' original holiday tale. Jace chats about Batman: Noel by Lee Bermejo. It's the classic tale of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens but adapted to the DC Universe as told by Lee Bermejo. Batman as Scrooge with various DC characters as the Christmas Spirits. Bermejo does a great job of capturing the essence of the story while staying true to the core of Batman. Where the story really shines is the art, Lee's art is transcendent as he captures the gritty feel of Gotham city while still infusing the hope of the season into the illustrations. A wonderful addition to the holidays, add this to your collection and make it a holiday tradition by reading it during the yuletide season.
Jingle Bells, Batman smells... It's the most wonderful time of the year in Gotham, but not everyone is feeling festive. Batman: Noel retells Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. But this time, Scrooge isn't some grumpy old man. This time, he's Gotham's Caped Crusader, the Batman. In our final episode of the year, we explore why Batman is an updated Scrooge archetype and why the themes of A Christmas Carol are still relevant today. Enjoy and Happy Holidays! In this episode, Pedro and Aidan get in the Christmas spirit by reviewing the 2011 graphic novel, Batman: Noel which was written and illustrated by Lee Bermejo, who previously did the artwork for Joker. Batman: Noel is based on Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol and features characters from both Dickens and the Batman mythos.
