In the Red corner we have Jeskaibowl made by TheBenwa, and in the Blue corner, we have Killer Queen made by Cole! And....wait why are there knife wielding clowns showing up in the arena? We're now a Captive Audience! British Columbia is filled with cool people, and so we welcome TheBenwa with open arms as we join together to chat about his Juri, Master of the Revue Artisan deck! We then discuss brewing in the community, and why we both took to the Battlebox, shared deck experience with our respective brews of Queen Marchesa and Narset, Enlightened Exile. Check out TheBenwa on Twitter @THEBENWA, his Juri "Feng Shui Engine" list and his Jeskaibowl v1 on Moxfield, and Cloudhead Game's Linktree.
Ok lemme tell you the lightning in the bottle format I just made. It's Commander Dandân, but instead of blue it's Mardu, and everyone had Queen Marchesa as a commander, and the deck is 100-some-odd cards, and it's about topdecking and capitalizing on the graveyard, and- I ramble for a few minutes to talk about my Killer Queen project that I've been working on for a few weeks, and will be doing further testing to see what my friends think! Check out the list on Moxfield in its current 2.0 version, and take a peak at the primer!

The epic robot-fighting series BattleBots is back for a brand-new season as the world’s biggest, baddest, strongest, and fastest next-generation robots duke it out for robot fighting supremacy. Sixty teams from across the globe including unproven rookies, up-and-coming stars and legends in the game will throw their fearsome fighting machines into the BattleBox for a chance to walk away with the preeminent prize in robotic sport: The Giant Nut. This season’s action-packed tournament includes former champion Tombstone, and formidable foes such as Whiplash, SawBlaze, Captain Shrederator, Lock-Jaw and Bloodsport. Each episode highlights the design and build of the competing robots and profiles the teams behind them. Competitors come from all types of backgrounds – from families to university students and everything in between. Every machine is homemade and constructed from a variety of materials with custom-built weaponry to destroy the competition. The youngest competitor is just 11 years old and this season’s lineup includes the first ever 500lb walking robot. Calling all the action is veteran sportscaster Chris Rose and UFC Legend Kenny Florian. Chris was one of the original hosts of Fox’s popular The Best Damn Sports Show Period, and was an on-air host at FOX Sports from 2000 to 2012 where he served as the on-site pregame show host and called play-by-play for MLB on FOX. He also hosted FOX's pre- and postgame coverage for the 2009 All-Star Game and World Series. In addition to his baseball work, Chris called play-by-play for FOX NFL Sunday and hosted FOX Sports' Bowl Championship Series coverage for the last four years. Chris is currently the co-host of Intentional Talk on the MLB Network as well as a studio host for the NFL Network. This week on the podcast, we sit down with the Vasquez family—Jeff, Debbie, Matthew and Jason—who field the hard-hitting heavyweight Whiplash! Jeff and Debbie have been building combat robots since the early 2000s, and raised their sons in the sport. Today, the Vasquez family competes with robots in every weight class. They’re best known for Whiplash, the articulated lifter/vertical spinner that took on the hardest-hitting bots in 2019 BattleBots—and usually come out on top. Outside of the BattleBox, Jeff builds and drives robots for film, TV shows and commercials. Matthew and Jason are both in college, and have become the public face of the team on BattleBots, working together to drive the robot and strategize outside the arena. Oh! And we talk about Fred!
