Brasiliansk jiu-jitsu, BJJ, er en form for jiu jitsu, der er udviklet i Brasilian i starten af 1900-tallet, fra klassisk japansk judo, med særligt fokus på gulvkamp. Hvor der i judo klassisk er meget fokus på kast, er det altoverskyggende fokus i BJJ altså gulvkampen. BJJ blev for alvor kendt i den vestlige verden i forbindelse med fremkomsten af Mixed Martial Arts, hvor brydning eller gulvkamp fylder meget og fyldte endnu mere i starten. Lari Salomaa on matkustanut kahvin perässä Brasilian viidakkoon ja kirjoittanut teoksen Kahvivallankumous. Se on tarina kahvipavun matkasta tropiikista pohjoismaiseen kahvipannuun. Onko kahviloilla ennen ollut vahva oma identiteetti, joka on houkutellut eri yhteiskuntaluokkiin kuuluvia asiakkaita? Satu Jaatinen on tutkinut suomalaista kahvilakulttuuria. Ovatko tämän päivän kahvilat sitten profiloituneet jollakin muulla kuin yhteiskuntaluokkaa korostavalla tyylillä? Paahtimokahviloissa asiakas näkee kahvin kaikki valmistusvaiheet silmiensä edessä. Ensimmäinen kahvifestari järjestettiin Helsingin Suvilahden Kattilahallilla 2015 ja kävijöitä oli noin 3 500. Nykyään kävijämäärä on yli 10 000 ja tapahtuma järjestetään Kaapelitehtaalla 25.-27.4. January is a perfect time to heat it up in the studio! So we had our fave Brazilian Musical Auntie come by with a dose of modern Brazilian tunes. Jen Nascimento (Tia Jenny) is a percussionist focusing on African and Brazilian drums, and a trained singer as well. For 20 years she has sung and played in jazz, afrobeat, blues, and Latin bands, often reinterpreting the diverse Brazilian classics she grew up hearing at home. Her love of hip-hop had her collecting vinyl in the 90s, and today Tia Jenny ("Aunt Jenny" in Portuguese&Spanish) curates and spins for lovers of world bass and tribal-digital, as well as emerging soul and hip hop.
