In elementary school C.J. Watson would tell his friends that one day he would play in the NBA. It sounded like a typical little kid bragging to cover up the pain of the Las Vegas inner city – but he had a dream – and he wouldn't let go. His parents encouraged him to read, to do well in school and took him to community service projects to build into him character. C.J. became a talented player for national powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School then was recruited to University of Tennessee where he had a tremendous career. After not being drafted, he stayed after his dream, playing in overseas leagues, development leagues, summer leagues until the call came to play for the Golden State Warriors. C.J. carved out a strong 10-year NBA career not only with talent but an ability to overcome odds and tune out doubters. Now C.J. has a new dream – to encourage children to go after their dreams, to build character and to live with resilience. C.J. has now produced three books for children, CJ's Big Dream, CJ's Big Project and CJ's Big Moment. Today on Brave Men – what it takes to pursue your dream – it's not just about talent.

The Talk2Much Podcast is back in your life with former NBA player, CJ Watson, joining me to talk about his NBA career and investing. Growing up, I paid more attention to the NBA than anything else in my life so this episode was a special episode for me! Not only did CJ Watson play in the NBA, but he served as the backup to my two favorite players in NBA history; Stephen Curry and Derrick Rose. It was great to go through Mr. CJ's career and understand his mindset towards investing at different stages of his life. Hearing CJ Watson's personal perspective on finance and investing is going to be interesting for my audience. We also went through his children's books which he releases every year. We ended the show going through the stages of his NBA career and we talked about the current NBA season. Of course I needed to get some NBA predictions for my people.

We are starting off the month of September HOT with The Quiet Storm himself. We got C.J. Watson in the house! Our local listeners will remember him first for his days at Bishop Gorman where he absolutely dominated the court and the headlines. He went on to play 4 years at University of Tennessee, leading a nationally ranked Vols team to the NCAA tournament and becoming Tennessee’s second all-time leader in assists and steals. His journey to the NBA wasn’t easy and we got to hear all about it.It was a shock to everyone when Watson went un-drafted in the 2006 NBA Draft. He would spend time overseas and in the D-League before proving to everybody that he belonged in the NBA. Watson then went on to play 10 seasons in the NBA where he didn’t disappoint one bit. He even played in the Big3 and we learn about that too!C.J. was so gracious with his time and we really enjoyed hearing about his basketball journey. Of course we are impressed with what he can do on the court, but what he is doing off the court is even more impressive. Watson does so much for the community and the youth, and it says a whole lot about his character. The message to kids in the books he's making is valuable and uplifting so be sure to check it out at cjpens.com. We know you’ll love this one just as much as we did!Thank you C.J. Watson!

Today we hear from 10-year NBA guard and current BIG 3 player CJ Watson. CJ takes us through his journey and along with the highs and lows, we hear about his time at Golden State where he talks about the culture and what makes Oakland special. As the Baron Davis years wound down and side by side with a young Steph Curry, CJ was there for the rebuild and early days of the dynasty that would come to be. After 3 great years in Oakland he made his way to Chicago, a franchise he watched as a child and where his idol, Michael Jordan, was the star. Playing in the United Centre was surreal, and more importantly he was part of a franchise that was relevant again due to the 60-game win season headed by the then youngest MVP ever Derrick Rose. Our interview concludes with a conversation about his Foundation, how important it is for him to give back, and where he has found meaning as an author, a mentor and entrepreneur. Tune in to hear the whole story.

Ainda no Leste falamos de Josh Smith no Pistons, Al Jefferson no Bobcats, Mike Dunleavy no Bulls e Paul Millsap no Hawks. No Oeste o assunto é Andre Iguodala no Warriors, as várias contratações do Portland Trail Blazers e o novo Wolves com Kevin Martin e Chase Budin
