Welcome to the weekly MormonNewsRoundup where Al & Dives ruminate on the great and spacious Beehive!
Welcome brothers and sisters to Mormon Movie Reviews: Where LDS movie lovers belong! My name is Dives, today is Sep 21, 2022 this is episode and will we be reviewing EP - Cipher on the Snow (1974) Running time: 21 minutes "Cipher in the Snow" is a poignant and thought-provoking Mormon short film released in 1974, directed by Kieth Merrill. The story revolves around a tragic event that leaves a profound impact on those who witness it. The film begins with a young boy named Cliff, portrayed by Bruce Kimball, who is depicted as a quiet and withdrawn student struggling to connect with his peers. Despite his attempts to reach out and make friends, Cliff is often met with indifference and even cruelty from his classmates. One winter morning, Cliff's teacher discovers him sitting silently at his desk, unresponsive and seemingly lifeless. The school staff and students are shocked and saddened by Cliff's sudden death, and they struggle to understand what could have led to such a tragic outcome. Through a series of flashbacks and interviews with Cliff's classmates and teachers, the film pieces together the events leading up to his death. It becomes apparent that Cliff's isolation and loneliness were profound, and despite the efforts of some individuals to reach out to him, he remained deeply troubled and disconnected. As the story unfolds, viewers are confronted with themes of bullying, social isolation, and the devastating impact of indifference. "Cipher in the Snow" serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion, empathy, and reaching out to those in need. Despite its short runtime, the film leaves a lasting impression, prompting viewers to reflect on their own interactions with others and consider the profound impact small acts of kindness can have on those who are struggling. "Cipher in the Snow" is a moving and thought-provoking exploration of the human condition, offering valuable insights into the complexities of loneliness, empathy, and the power of human connection. References A DVD of the movie is available through BYU's Creative Works Office. https://creativeworks.byu.edu/Creativ... Conclusion there's a lot of people who like to mock this movie, but I WANT to treasure this movie while some aspects of the short are a little far-fetched, you can also take the moral of the movie to its logical conclusion: If I am not kind to others, they will die, which is not a good lesson I remember watching this film as a young boy at church, and while I did think that some of the parts were a little cheesy, the message of the short left me wanting to be a better person. I too experienced divorce and family trials as a youth, perhaps one reason that I connect so strongly with Cliff. Now that I am older and a former public school teacher who taught some potential ciphers in the snow, I also easily find myself sympathetic to Frank. I think it delivers a powerful and emotionally compelling narrative, this film has sticking power. if you look past the film's minor shortcomings to the timeless kernel of its universal message of kindness to others, the cipher in the snow will not leave you out in the cold Thanks so much for joining me to review this film, please like, subscribe, leave a comment, and join us next time for another episode of the MormonMovieReviews: Where LDS Movie Lovers Belong. Want to better understand the '23 algorithm & use it to your advantage? We pull back the curtain for the first time and are giving you a SNEAK PEEK into a conversation we had during our Creativ Rise Mastermind group community call last week. ⚡️ The best thing about these community calls is that everyone gets to give value. This sneak peek of our community call highlights a conversation between Lauren & Lukas. Lauren was seeking advice on how to use the algorithm and short form video to her advantage - - and Lukas @exploromann was giving his 2 cents (which turned out to be worth a lot more than 2 cents). Tune in & you'll find out what we're talking about.

This episode is inspired by one of our Mastermind grads who just landed a $10k wedding (shout out to @alexagphotos).
Finding Your Value shouldn't feel impossible. Especially after today's episode
We have another LIVE COACHING call with @petervndr, and we talk about the situation Peter is having with owning two businesses but feeling like he's being held back from his results because of it. He poses the question: "Can you build a wedding & commercial business successfully at the same time?" We absolutely loved this tactical conversation and know you will too! Tune in. If you enjoyed this coaching conversation - - and feel like you're missing the tailored strategy to keep moving the momentum forward in your business growth, don't miss out this fall on the Creativ Rise Mastermind. It's 6 weeks jam packed with coaching, community and accountability, and the results are incredible. But don't just take it from us, here is what one of our recent Mastermind grads said: “Ever feel like you've got it in you but don't know where to start? That was me prior to Creativ Rise. I always knew I wanted to run my own business and be my own boss. But no school or university will ever teach you how to break away from the pack and walk the road less taken. I've always learned by doing and observing those around me. Surrounding yourself with creatives is definitely the best way to learning and grow. This is why Creativ Rise is the ALL IN ONE PACKAGE. After the first call, all hesitations or concerns immediately vanished and suddenly in an instant, I had a Creativ family ready to help push me every step of the way……Suddenly I wasn't just some guy going door to door, asking people if they wanted to pay me to make a video for them. Suddenly I was a Brand Builder, Content Creator and Problem Solver. In the 6 weeks alone I was able to DOUBLE MY INCOME. This course MADE ME MONEY! I finally had clarity and direction in my actions. I had a network and a community to help push me out of my comfort zone and I was able to start living the lifestyle I had always dreamed about. Joey and Christy truly care. They care about YOU, your business and truly want you to succeed. My only regret is I didn't do this sooner.” -Mitchell Mcardle @mitchellmcardle Want results in your business that you wouldn't get alone? If you're a creative business owner (brand photographer, wedding videographer, graphic designer, web designer, social media manager, etc.), consider applying for the next round of the Creativ Rise Mastermind. Applications go live September 5th but the waitlist gets early access
A patent's assurance of the protection of inventions is a key reason why companies invest billions of dollars in research and development. 2020 was the 28th year in a row that IBM led the U.S. in the number of patents granted. [fortune.com] The Buzz 3: Every year Siemens honors Inventors of the Year in five categories: Newcomers, Open Innovation, Outstanding Invention, Lifetime Achievement, and Design and User Experience. In 2021, the 15 awarded inventors have their origins in the US, India, Israel, UK, Poland and Germany.
