The sermon draws a powerful analogy between spiritual direction and navigating with a GPS, emphasizing that when believers stray from God's will—marked by rebellion, worldly distractions, and moral compromise—they face confusion and spiritual disorientation. Centered on Isaiah 30:21, it calls for a return to the 'root' of faith through four essential lanes: prayer, purity, praise, and proclamation. These are not optional practices but divine mandates—prayer as the foundation of communion, purity as a reflection of sanctification, praise as a response to God's faithfulness, and proclamation as an expression of His heart for the lost. The message is both convicting and comforting, urging believers to realign with God's will by embracing these spiritual disciplines, which restore purpose, clarity, and direction in the midst of life's detours.

Let's be real - getting “back on track” after something hard (whether it's a surgery, illness, pregnancy, or just life throwing you a massive curveball) can feel nearly impossible. I've had my fair share of those moments lately. My body, my mind, and my emotions have been through a LOT over this last year honestly. The truth though? You're not starting from zero, and you haven't “lost” all your progress when you're coming back from {xyz}. You don't need to “bounce back “ - you need a mindset shift!Structure comes before intensity. Start small, and focus on one or two anchor habits (i.e. walking daily, increasing hydration, or prioritizing protein). You've got to adjust your expectations because you are NOT the same person you were before that event, and that's okay! Give yourself some freaking grace, because healing isn't just physical - it's mental and emotional, too.Episode recap:Why you need to shift your mindset FIRSTChoosing to start small + rebuild your routineThe importance of adjusting expectations & meeting yourself where you areFueling your recovery by prioritizing eating ENOUGH foodRealizing that healing is mental and physicalWhy setbacks aren't failure, but a way to help you move forwardLeaning on your community and finding accountabilityReal & encouraging stories from ladies in my communityLinks/Resources:Ep. 133 | Taking ‘Breaks' on Your Fitness Journey for Pregnancy, Injuries, Mental Health Struggles, and MoreGrab your FREE Body Recomp Meal Prep BlueprintListen to the Sol Fit PodcastJoin FIT CLUB, my monthly membership with workouts you can do at home or the gymPRIVATE COACHING is my 1:1 program (choose 3 or 6 month option)Connect with me on Instagram @kristycastillofit and @unfuckyourfitnesspodcast so we can keep this conversation going-be sure to tag me in your posts and stories!Join my FREE Facebook group, Unf*ck Your FitnessClick HERE for my favorite fitness & life things!Send me a text with episode ideas or just to say hi! If you've ever ended the night face-first in a pint of ice cream thinking, “I just need more willpower,” this episode is a must-listen.   In today's episode of the Outsmart Overeating podcast, Coach Steph and I dismantle the myth that self-control is your missing ingredient. Spoiler: You don't have a willpower problem. You have a thinking problem—and it's not your fault.   We'll show you: Why willpower works in short bursts but always fails long term How decision fatigue is silently sabotaging your food choices The surprising reason your most disciplined efforts are making you feel more out of control Why emotional needs—not food—are the real root of overeating And how changing your inner psychology creates lasting change without food rules or obsession   We're pulling back the curtain on the real drivers behind compulsive eating—like perfectionism, scarcity thinking, and deeply rooted beliefs around weight and worth—and showing you how to break the cycle for good.   If you're tired of being stuck in the binge-restrict loop, this episode will leave you feeling seen, validated, and most importantly—equipped with actionable insights you can use today.

#259: How to Create Your SOS Plan – Your Personal Toolkit for Getting Back on Track

The Art of Value Whispering Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 11, 2025 14:03

Welcome to the Art of Value Whispering podcast   Lately, I've noticed a pattern. Not just in my clients and community, but in myself too.  ‍ It's that creeping sense of overwhelm or loss of focus that shows up when you're trying to wrap things up, especially during seasonal transitions. Or when you're coming back from a break. Or when you've had ‘one of those days' where nothing quite seems to work as you'd like. It can be a productivity killer! ‍ In those moments, it's common to feel a bit off and you're struggling to focus and regain your sense of flow. If you can relate, this episode is for you! ‍ A few years ago I created the idea of an SOS Plan to help me and my clients in just these moments. It has since become an essential tool for me and for the women I work with, helping us to quickly get back on track, feeling good and enjoying focus and flow.  ‍ An SOS Plan is a simple but powerful personal reset kit - something you can reach for when life throws you off balance, your energy is low, or your motivation feels stuck in first gear. ‍ I know that for us introverts, the overwhelm doesn't always show up loud and messy. Sometimes it's just fog in the background. A heaviness. A moment of self-doubt that spirals. That's exactly why having a personal go-to plan - something that takes the guesswork out of “What now?” - can be a game-changer. ‍ In this episode, I walk you through how to create your own SOS plan, so you have a ready-made toolkit for getting back into flow, recharging your mindset, and reclaiming your energy when it matters most. ‍ Listen now to learn how to get back on track and feel productive again, without guilt, pressure, or overwhelm. ‍ ‍ “You don't need motivation to start, you just need your next small step.” - Melitta Campbell In this Week's Episode... ‍ You will discover: ‍‍ How to create a personal SOS plan that quickly brings you back to focus and flow (when life gets messy) Essential items to include in your SOS plan The power of using music, quotes, and rituals to shift your energy instantly Why introverts especially benefit from having a reset system The simple mindset tools that actually work ‍ How to build resilience without pushing harder, but by leaning into self-leadership ‍‍ ‍ SOS Plan Ideas: Here are some ideas of things you might like to include in your personal SOS Plan: ‍ A favourite song that gets you dancing My favourites are Alive and Amplified, Katchi and Makin' Excuses A quote that inspires, grounds or uplifts you A simple feel-good ritual A centering practice A way to quickly reassess or reprioritise A grounding mantra or affirmation A recorded voice memo or journal entry from a stronger moment A comforting photo or visual cue A ‘low-effort, high-comfort' action list A check-in buddy ‍ A micro-goal checklist ‍

Have you ever thought, “I used to be so good at this… what happened?” Whether it's been a few weeks or a few years, starting over in your health and fitness journey can feel overwhelming. But here's the truth: you're not starting from scratch—you're starting from experience. In this empowering episode of Simple Fitness Habits, Shaela walks you through 5 simple, grace-filled steps to get back on track with your fitness, nutrition, and mindset—without falling into hustle, shame, or the lie that you have to “do it all.” This is your Christian woman's guide to starting over with intention, strength, and Spirit-led strategy. In This Episode, You'll Learn: Why 10–15 minutes of strength training is a better “restart” than forcing a full workout split. How adding one palm-sized serving of protein daily boosts strength, reduces cravings, and stabilizes energy. What NEAT (non-exercise activity) is—and how dancing, walking, or even tidying up can support long-term fat loss. The hydration mistake Christian women often make (and how electrolytes can fix it). The 3 smart supplements to focus on—and why “less is more” when it comes to health trends. Rooted in Scripture: This episode reminds us that God doesn't call us to hustle for perfection—He calls us to show up in faithful obedience. Through small, sustainable habits, we can honor the bodies He's given us, serve our families, and pursue our callings with energy and grace. Fur Mum to two Aussie Shepherds, Savannah & Angelica. I own and run my own business selling energy cleansing &lifting products, and I was a hairdresser in my past life. I've had weight issues my whole life, at 17 I was diagnosed with PSOS, now at the other end in peri/menopause and on HRT.I went through 18 cycles of IVF to have my beautiful boys. Atmy highest weight (after IVF and the baby's) | was 130kg (290lbs) and at my lowest 55kg (121lbs). IF Starting Date: 3rd October 2022SW: 91.6kg (201lbs)CW: 64kg (141lbs)First Time Lost: 27kg (60lbs) Second Time Loss: 14kg (30lbs)Height: 160cm (5'3”)I lost 27kg (60lbs) from 3rd October 2022 till September 2023, doing clean IF, then slowly with mostly 4 4-hour daily windows and some slack food choices like casual drinking wine, as well as a couple of big life moments full of stress Iregained 14kg (30lbs) of my weight by 26 August 2024, when my weight was 78kg (171lbs). Strict OMAD (1 hour mostly a day), alcohol free, and cardio exercise 5 times a week till mid March 2025, got my weight back to 70kg (154lbs). I felt the weight lost the second time around was a lot harder and ahell of a lot slower. My weight loss got stuck around 70kg (154lbs) for over 7 weeks, so I reluctantly started ADF for the first time on 24th March 2025., Wednesday, Friday, with OMAD Sundays, I lost 6kg (13lbs) in 4 weeks. I never thought I could or wanted to do ADF, but I like it now. I've always cleaned fasted and don't do the 500-calorie down day option. So here I am, 2 years and six ish months into my IF lifestyle, back to 64kg (141lbs) in my second round of maintenance, alcohol free, working on muscle tone as well as cardio, and myself physically, emotionally and spiritually daily
