Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara said "the loss of a human life is a tragedy" as he spoke about the woman shot and killed by an ICE agent on Wednesday. He said tension has built up over ICE's presence and added "this was entirely predictable." O'Hara defended his officers, who he said are being put in the middle and trying to deescalate situations. Nick Reiner was set to be arraigned on murder charges on Wednesday in the killing of his parents Rob and Michele Reiner. But his defense attorney, Alan Jackson, told the judge he could no longer represent the 32-year-old. After the hearing, Jackson said he couldn't say why he withdrew for legal reasons, but added, "Nick Reiner is not guilty of murder." The UFC has put on thousands of fights over the years and have no doubt have been unhappy with at least a few of those results, but when it comes to these fights, well they were downright embarrassed and some even got Dana White to threaten to leave press conferences.

Dana White is an American businessman who is the CEO and president of the UFC. Outside of the UFC, he is the owner of Power Slap, a slap fighting promotion he founded in 2022. He's best friends with Donald Trump and tight with guys like Kid Rock and Zuckerberg. He randomly gave me cash out of his pocket one night when Cowboy Cerrone and I were down on our luck at the black jack tables. He had no reason to be nice to me but has always shown kindness and hospitality when I come to the fights. I'm a huge Dana White fan and I hope you are too after this podcast.

The Year of Our Lord 2025 was a weird one in MMA. Complete dogshit for the heavyweight division, obviously. You started the year with Dana White swearing up and down that he was going to get Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall done, only to have Jones quit the sport to monetize this amazing brand he'd built — then come crawling back as soon as he found out about the White House fight card. When they finally did set up a heavyweight title fight for Gas Hands Tommy, Ciryl Gane went two knuckles deep in Aspinall's eye … which obviously seems to have negatively affected Aspinall's career more than Gane's. But it wasn't all bad. In the spring, fighters started to get that sweet, sweet class-action settlement money. By the end, Merab and Islam were the consensus fighters of the year.
