California voters are poised to vote on a one-time billionaire tax that would fund schools, food assistance, and Medicaid. Silicon Valley is spending big to keep the precedent-setting initiative off the November ballot, but the campaign's most powerful opponent isn't a tech oligarch — it's California Gov. Gavin Newsom, the Democratic power broker and potential presidential candidate. Today on Lever Time, David Sirota sits down with Dave Regan, the union leader who engineered the billionaire tax, to find out why Newsom and his allies are racing to kill the measure — and what this fight reveals about oligarchs' control of the Democratic Party. If you're into Japanese tattooing, especially in relation to its cultural connotations, you're gonna love this one. Dave is a tattooer specialized in Americana and Japanese with extensive international experience. His passion for gardening - he works with the Denver Botanic Garden on cultivating their renowned Japanese garden program, as well as maintaining the trees of Hakubai Zen Temple in Boulder - brought him a deeper insight on the philosophical aspects of Horimono. In this episode we talked about some key concepts and his upcoming book, a great addition to everyone passionate about Japanese tattooing ‘Horimono: a Western Perspective'. This book is the product of a collaboration with AfterLife Press, world renowned for the quality of both content and craftsmanship of their publications, and it has been supported and reviewed by a number of horishi, including Tatsutoshi the First of the Shodai Horitoshi family. After reading the April 17 edition of the Wilson County News South Texas Living feature, “Time in a bottle,” about the site of Klasek's Bottling Company in Floresville, Dave Regan sent in this amazing full-color photo. Works; Mrs. John Klasek, Prop. Floresville, Texas.” Regan said he has no idea of the date or the occasion for the promotion, but is grateful that he now knows a little more...Article Link

Dave Regan has been able to experience more than one life in his years. Growing up in the times and neighborhoods that built the America we walk in today, Dave's journey includes nights on horseback, saddling up a chopper and logging trip after trip. The thing is - he was doing these things while spending his days building the ads that spread Detroit's auto industry across the country. After living a full life as an adman, he turned his trail toward becoming an educator, helping to lead the industry into the next frontier. Today he spends his hours teaching advertising students at Michigan State University, where he's been for nearly 20 years. Guess what? He touches on all these things in the episode - and we've left a couple things out in this written synopsis. You'll have to listen to hear the full story. Listeners who stick around til the end won't be disappointed. conventioNOT is on all podcast channels. Quick launch your favorite app by clicking here.

In this episode of the Pacey Performance Podcast, I am speaking to Former Sports Science Coordinator at Miami Dophins & NY Mets, and Performance Consultant, Dave Regan. Dave was introduced to me by Jo Clubb who is at the Buffalo Bills after I asked her who I should speak to about working in the NFL. Dave spent 4 years with the Dophins and 1 year with the Mets so has a great understanding of both sport but is not currently employed in either sport so was able to really lift the lid on what its like to work in them environments. I absolutely loved this chat with Dave that was not only very informative but extremely entertaining! Hope you enjoy this episode with Dave Regan.
