How did Saudi Arabia come to host leaders from the US, Russia and Ukraine for peace talks? Just a few years ago, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was publicly identified as the man who ordered the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. As a result, he was referred to as a pariah by former President Joe Biden. So, how did MBS go from pariah to peacemaker?Jonny Dymond speaks to journalist Jonathan Rugman, producer of the BBC documentary 'The Kingdom' about the life of Mohammed bin Salman.Producers: Richard Moran, Tom Kavanagh, Mhairi MacKenzie and Eleanor SlySound engineers: Mike RegaardAssistant editor: Richard Fenton-SmithSenior news editor: China Collins
Despite the recent incendiary declaration by Trump to occupy Gaza and clean the land of Palestinians, there remains fervent talk that normalisation with Saudi is on the cards. The de facto leader Mohammed Bin Salman has made it clear that he wants to make public what is very much the reality: his embrace of Israel and probably the most significant political prize to the genocidal state. The kingdom, in many ways, is rapidly moving towards a westernisation, at least in economic and cultural terms – with concerts and sporting events and the mass incarceration of the many scholars, including the father of my guest today, Shaykh Salman Alaoudh. We are honoured to have Abdullah Alaoudh on the show to help us understand the new Saudi Arabia and its extremes. Abdullah Alaoudh is a legal scholar from Saudi Arabia. He is currently the senior director of Countering Authoritarianism at the Middle East Democracy Center (MEDC) and secretary general of the Saudi National Assembly Party. Forty-five years ago this month, a group of armed insurgents stormed the Grand Mosque in Mecca, taking thousands of worshippers hostage. The siege would go on to have profound implications in Saudi Arabia, and beyond.
In the Jerusalem Post today, they ran an op-ed begging Jared Kushner to return to the world stage that read more like a love letter. It said “Dear Jared Kushner, Former senior advisor to the president of the United States, son-in-law of President-Elect Donald J. Trump. It's time to return to the table. In recent years, you have been instrumental in reshaping Israel's place in the Middle East. Through the Abraham Accords and countless behind-the-scenes efforts, you brought peace closer to reality and strengthened Israel's position globally. Now, at this critical juncture, we need you once again.” There it is, and that's the memo. On this episode of the Prophecy News Podcast, there is no shortage of eye-popping breaking news to talk about here at home in America and around the world. Jared Kushner, co-architect of the Abraham Accords with Mohammed bin Zayed is back in the news, and for all the right end times reasons. There is talk in the Democratic Party of having Joe Biden resign now, thus making Kamala Harris the 47th president. What a free-for-all that would be. 3 Iranians have been arrested in a plot to assassinate president-elect Donald Trump, and the Russia Ukraine War had it's biggest day yesterday. If you thought that returning Donald Trump to power was going to solve all our problems, you would be quite mistaken. A Trump presidency will solve some of those problems, absolutely, but it brings in a whole host of other ones. On this episode, we bring you all the breaking news you need to know!
Producent: Ylva LindgrenSlutmix: Jacob Gustavsson

The old world order is receding rapidly as preparations are underway to receive the coming Antichrist, and there is perhaps no place more incendiary right now than what happened yesterday. We told you how Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chose to not renew their Petro Dollar contract with the United States, something that gave America supreme financial dominance around the world over the past half century. Now the US will have to compete with the Chinese RMB, Euros, Yen, and Yuan, but that's not the worst of it. CBDC with its human-implantable microchip implications is coming like a freight train. On this episode of the NTEB Prophecy News Podcast, look anywhere around you on the global landscape, and it's nothing but crazy town from every angle. In just the past 24 hours, we've learned that the Earth's inner core has reversed its direction, NATO says a minimum of 300,000 troops are on high readiness, Pope Francis will address the G7 as king of Vatican City, and Bird Flu continues it headlong rush forward to become Disease X. Also at the G7 yesterday, the US signed a Bilateral Security Agreement with Ukraine and will help them fight Russia with boots on the ground. If all that is not enough, how about the IDF, who possesses some of the most-advanced military technology on the planet, fighting Hezbollah with a trebuchet straight out of 2 Chronicles 26:15? Only instead of flinging stones and arrows, they are hurling fireballs! Christian, the end times are no longer knocking on the door, they have kicked it in and are swarming from all directions. Flight 777 now boarding!

From Tucker Carlson to Johnny Depp, a celebrity bromance is the must-have accessory for modern dictators, says Marina Hyde (1m50); the Libertines on feuds, friendship and their tortured reunion by Simon Hattenstone (9m03); and how habituation, a simple behavioural trick, can help you experience less pain and more pleasure by Cass Sunstein and Tali Sharot (35m49).
Picture the scene: you're luxury glamping in the Saudi desert, the darkening sky already awash with stars above you. You're about to enjoy all the splendour of an evening amongst the Saudi royal court when Johnny emerges from his opulent tent, acoustic guitar in hand. That, I'm afraid, has been the fate of Mohammed Bin Salman's courtiers in recent months, ever since the pair began their budding bromance. This week, Whale Hunting host Bradley Hope has written an exclusive story on this new friendship for Vanity Fair, and we'll be unpacking its twists and turns in this episode. Tom Wright quizzes Bradley on the details, including how Johnny and MBS came to meet, his time aboard the crown prince's yacht, and what their relationship could signal for the future of Hollywood, Saudi Arabia, and the film industry. Saad Aljabri v. Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud
Saudi Arabia is changing, affecting its culture, the region and the world. Nightlife takes a look at the history and future of the country's sovereign wealth fund, pouring billions into economic diversification and social reform.

This week on the podcast we discuss Syria and the regime of Bashar al-Assad. For over a decade, the regime in Damascus has been an international pariah, amid a brutal campaign of terror by the Syrian armed forces against its people. The geopolitical sands however are shifting, with signs that regimes across the Middle East are prepared to talk with Assad once more. We look at what this means for the region, the implications for the alliance between Iran and Syria, and whether justice for the Assad regime's victims is now lost to realpolitik diplomacy. We also look this week at the Arab League summit in Saudi Arabia. This week Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued a rallying call for Ukraine at the summit, in a part of the world where views of the war differ greatly from those here in Europe. We ask what Zelenskyy was trying to achieve, not least by meeting Mohammed Bin Salman, what influence Russia has in the region and how is the war perceived by the people of the Middle East more widely. Joining Bronwen Maddox on the show this week s Dr Sanam Vakil, the new Director of our Middle East and North Africa programme. Saudi Arabia's crown prince is mending fences with Syria and Iran, soothing rivalries with Gulf rivals and now welcoming the Biden administration's point man on security to Jeddah. Ten months after that frosty fist bump with the US president, Mohammed bin Salman is talking peace-brokering in Sudan and a winding down of his eight-year campaign in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has entered into a new era of relations with its long time rival, Iran. It's a deal that has the potential to be very significant for the Middle East region. It's part of a vision of a new Saudi Arabia spearheaded by its Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. It's a vision of futuristic cities, a new society, and a move away from an economy reliant on oil, not to mention new deals with ancient rivals in the region. How much of this new vision of Saudi Arabia is achievable and is the man at the centre convincing enough to make it work? This week on The Inquiry we're asking, what is Mohammed bin Salman's vision for Saudi Arabia? The life and exploits of Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, aka MBS.Mohammed bin Salman is the uncrowned king of Saudi Arabia, ruling the Kingdom with an iron fist. He took power by force and coercion from Muhammad bin Nayef and he consolidated that power by kidnapping, detaining and torturing members of the Saudi Royal Family and prominent businessmen like Prince Alwaleed bin Talal in the Ritz Carlton hotel in Riyadh, he even kidnapped the Lebanese prime minister Saad Hariri and imprisoned his own mother. He also ordered the murder and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2017. If you enjoy our content, please become a patron to get our premium exclusive episodes, and our public episodes ad-free. 1 MBS also has an army of flies, tiger squads, gold cars and a lavish lifestyle, he owns the world's most expensive home, the Serene $500M yacht and Leonardo Da Vinci's Salvator Mundi, but the painting he paid $450M for proved to be a fake. MBS has a very dual personality: he's modern but also medieval at the same time. The Saudi state essentially treats women as permanent legal minors. But MBS is also implementing Vision 2030 to modernize Saudi Arabia, he allowed women to drive, he brought back cinemas, he reduced the power of the religious police and clerics, he wants green energy cities, and to move away from dependency on oil. 2 In the context of president Biden's upcoming visit to Saudi Arabia and meeting with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and MBS, “the reset”, with a gallon of oil priced $5, we think it's important to also highlight the relations between US and Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region like Qatar, Yemen, Syria, , Bahrain, Lebanon (United Arab Emirates), as well as the Iran – Saudi Arabia proxy conflict, known as the Middle Eastern Cold War. Saudi Arabia has a young population, 60% of Saudis are under 30 and use Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram. MBS' army of flies – bots and hackers - created by Saud Al Qahtani ensures that no critical posts happen, and his tiger squads – hitmen – target those who dissent like Saad Al Jabri. Women can now drive but Saudi Arabia still imprisons activists like Loujain al Hathloul. Some of the laws governing sex segregation have been relaxed, but Saudi Arabia's guardianship system ensures that men still have ultimate control over most aspects of women's lives. We also discuss the beheadings in Chop Chop Square (Deera or Al-Safaa Square), the executions of those who oppose the regime, the arrest of Ali Nimr during the Arab Spring, the lashing of blogger Raif Badawi, MBS' war in Yemen, and we draw a parallel between Mohammed Bin Salman and Putin. We also discuss the connection between the Wahhabi-Salafi Islam ideology in Saudi Arabia and Daesh (Isis), Al Qaida, and other terrorist groups: the ideology is so similar that the manuals used by Saudi kids in school are the same books used in terrorist indoctrination schools in the caliphate areas. The Trump visit in Saudi Arabia and the glowing orb in the now infamous photo depicting King Salman, Trump and Egypt's president Abdel Fattah al Sisi touching the orb is also a point of discussion. 3 1.
