The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (03/31/2025): 3:05pm- The far-left continues to vandalize Tesla electric vehicles out of disdain for CEO Elon Musk and his close affiliation with the Trump Administration. In Bucks County, Pennsylvania a man's Tesla had a swastika carved into it while the vehicle sat in a Planet Fitness parking lot. Meanwhile, in Flagstaff, Arizona, a 61-year-old Tesla driver was cut off and ultimately assaulted by a motorist. 3:15pm- While speaking in Wisconsin, Elon Musk called out the “violence and hatred that is coming from the left”—exclaiming that progressive Democrats have “gone psycho.” 3:30pm- The left continually claims that the U.S. is heading towards a second Civil War—but don't believe them. Rich notes the country may be divided philosophically, but the vast majority of Americans aren't as angry as corporate media is making it seem. While the Civil War divided the country by geography, what would the line of delineation even be in modern America? 3:45pm- A man in Texas has been charged with ramming his ATV into a Tesla Cybertruck causing thousands of dollars in damage. Trump vowed to place onerous sanctions on Russian oil if progress isn't being made soon. 5:20pm- White Lotus Season 3 aired its second to last episode last night…is it time to declare this season is a bust? Matt says he's holding out hope it'll have a great finale. But why is anyone taking television advice from him? Plus, Americans are staying away from movie theaters—is it because of increased competition from streaming platforms or is Hollywood simply creating a subpar product? 5:40pm- According to the transcript of Donald Trump's phone conversation with NBC News, the president said of foreign auto manufacturers having to raise their prices as a result of his tariffs: “I couldn't care less.” He explained: “I hope they raise their prices, because if they do, people are gonna buy American-made cars. We have plenty.” 6:00pm- From the Oval Office, President Donald Trump signed an executive order preventing “exploitive ticket scalping” as Kid Rock stood next to him. While answering questions from the press, Trump said has been allowing White House staff to use the Tesla he bought earlier this month. On this episode, Bill sits down with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd for a wide-ranging, personal chat about her new book “Notorious"—a collection of her incisive profiles of major cultural and political figures—and why she once went viral for a botched edible experience in Denver. The two swap stories about growing up in Washington, D.C. (her father was a detective), how “woke” culture may have dampened the fun on the left, and what still draws voters to Donald Trump's brash humor. Maureen recalls the times she's gone toe-to-toe with politicians across the aisle, and she and Bill debate whether Democrats need a showman of their own. Throughout it all, they reflect on the challenges of bridging America's political divide, the strange alliances they've formed in the process, and how a good dinner party could be the real key to bringing people back together. We get into a new profile of Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir, which is written by Maureen Dowd, one of the NYT's most credulous opinion writers, and thus the perfect person to coax Karp into being as weird as he wants to be. This piece reveals a lot of core lore about Karp and shines light on a man who is riddled with contradictions and has turned that affliction of the soul into a superpower. ••• Alex Karp Has Money and Power. SERIES 3 EPISODE 13: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Did you HEAR Trump yesterday? Did you HEAR HIM TALK? He's in Howell, Michigan, where it might as well be Alabama in the year 1855, where they marched chanting “We Love Hitler, We Love Trump” a MONTH ago, and he came out at the County Sheriff's Office, and behind him with the cops as the props and if he had had ten times the energy and ten times the focus you would have said: what's wrong with Trump? Is he DYING or something? I mean I don't THINK he's dying, I think there are intermediate stages between having every single thing in a presidential campaign turn against you in a matter of two weeks and actually dying, but look if this mumble thing continues, at this rate they're going to have start putting live captions over him. Trump responded to the overture from the RFK Junior camp about dropping out if Trump would give him a role in his cabinet. “I didn't know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I'd be open to it.” RFK's running mate Nicole Shanahan appears to be doing the bargaining. Even she has figured it out: "We run the risk of a Kamala Harris and Walz presidency, as we draw votes from Trump. We draw, somehow, more votes from Trump. Or we walk away, right now, and join forces with Donald Trump…” Translation: bribe us and we'll go away. Looks like what they want is Secretary of Health and Human Services. THE SELF-DEFENESTRATION OF THE POLITICAL MEDIA: The Times really did it yesterday, with no sense of irony, no meta self-reflection: “Kamala Harris's tan suit was a surprising choice, our fashion critic writes.” The Post, meantime, did a DNC factcheck and got half a dozen things wrong: the Post insisted that there was no evidence that Trump ever sent love letters to dictators with Kessler writing “we do not know what Trump wrote to Kim Jong Un,” Media Matters went appropriately nuts. Of course we know. Trump showed them to… Bob Woodward of the Post. The factcheck now has its own factcheck. I recommend to you and will quote extensively from a masterpiece on this topic in The New Republic. Meredith Shiner writes: "after years of watching Morning Joe and searching for their birthdays in the Politico Playbook, they do not see their role as speaking to us, but rather speaking to themselves." Ex-effing-actly. B-Block (26:47) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Jesse Watters has rebirthed birtherism. He's sending "Johnny" to Hawaii to get the real story about Barack Obama's birth certificate because Harris. Amy Kremer, a GOP Committeewoman from Georgia, is the sucker born every minute. A liberal trolls the idiot Jack Posobiec by saying she'll have an abortion and a vasectomy onstage at the DNC and Kremer believes her. And Stephen L. Miller - the "other" Stephen Miller - uses the c-word about Mallory McMorrow with no self-awareness that it's used about him. C-Block (37:10) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: It was a lovely day in Fun City yesterday so I was out all day and I walked right past it: the bar out of which George Steinbrenner stepped one night in 1981 after I had spent the day trying to find... SERIES 2 EPISODE 209: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: The dam was supposed to break yesterday, against President Biden. It didn't. Meetings were delayed and stances were softened. And if we are really going to do this, I finally have some actual advice for the president. If you want to change the topic, REALLY change the topic: Arrest the Trump terrorists. This Federalist Society president who again yesterday vowed revolution against the government of the United States and implied he was ready to make it bloody and violent? Arrest him. The North Carolina Republican candidate for governor? Who called for mass killings of the people he doesn't like? Arrest him. The Supreme Court - corrupt, insane, amoral - was also ultimately unimaginative. It tried to give Trump absolute immunity from prosecution for official acts. It didn't even think it was giving Biden the same tools. Use them, Mr. President. Arrest Kevin Roberts for calling for the violent overthrow of the government. Arrested Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson for terroristic threats. Arrest Trump's gang. If need be, invoke the Insurrection Act as Trump intends to - and arrest him. If you really want to change the topic, CHANGE THE TOPIC. Change it from words, to action. Save the nation. Now. B-Block (25:30) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Maureen Dowd finally writes a column about Maureen Dowd writing a column and misquoting Biden in it. Marjorie Taylor Let's Compare Biden's Acuity To Hers Greene lists a dozen signers of the Declaration of Independence, there are only eight names on it, and six didn't sign it. C-Block (36:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Perfect time to retell it, forgive me if you've heard it before. 17 years ago I was taken to lunch by a senator looking to stop sounding crazy when he was angry, and instead sounding more like my righteous indignation. SERIES 2 EPISODE 122: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) BREAKING: The Democrats have flipped the Kitara Ravache Memorial Special Congressional Election in the New York 3rd. It's not a bellwether. It won't even be the same district a year from now. But Tom Suozzi not only took back the seat lost to "George Santos," he completely overshadowed the WhoreHouse Republicans' performance art impeachment last night of Secretary Mayorkas. (3:47) SPECIAL COMMENT: For once Politico aptly describes it: "The Biden Age Plot." Disgraced Special Counsel Robert Hur and House Republicans aren't just looking to have Hur testify on a topic about which he has no expertise, but they intend to have "Biden's Age" be the 2024 version of Benghazi: hearings, controversy, press conferences, witnesses, transcripts, subpoenas for weeks or even months. It's enraging but it reveals the GOP's terror: it is willing to risk bringing up Trump's age, Trump's bad mental health, and especially Trump's stolen documents - the actually stolen ones for which he will stand trial eventually. There are two possible Democratic responses. The first is for Attorney General Garland to squelch testimony and leave the Republicans with only one note rather than a hatful of phony storylines. The second is for the Democrats to hoist the GOP on its own petard, and to conduct a Senate investigation to whether Hur and the House Republicans conspired for him to write his editorialization about Biden before he submitted his report. There is a sidebar to the entire "Biden's Age" crap. When you hear 77-year old Chris Wallace or 72-year old Maureen Dowd or even 61-year old Jon Stewart say "he's too old" there is a second half to that sentence that they never say aloud. "HE'S too old, and that proves I'M not." The personal fear and memento mori are a huge component. And there IS a response and, happily, the Biden Campaign seems to have just figured it out this week. B-BLOCK (22:11) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Sean Hannity averaged 1.25 Hunter Biden stories per show last year and now the House has dropped the Hunter Biden performance art. SEASON 2, EPISODE 110: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: THIS IS TUESDAY JANUARY 23rd, THE EIGHTH DAY OF TRUMP'S DEMENTIA CRISIS: While Trump and his defenders quadruple-down on the Orwellian lie that he MEANT to conflate Nikki Haley and Nancy Pelosi and January 6th, Trump adds a new reason for serious concern about his mental stability. In an interview in New Hampshire for the primary, Trump is asked about Haley's insistence he is not competent and in one answer invokes Dr. Ronny Jackson, can't remember his name, recalls it, moves to a different topic, and then brings up Ronny Jackson again - as if for the first time. There's a reason Ron DeSantis did NOT end his campaign, but, like Ramaswamy, only suspended it. Like Haley, they both know that something above-and-beyond all previous problems has hit Trump and they will stay quietly and obediently in the background until it - or something else - comes and gets him. There is little to report from New Hampshire, though the networks and newspapers will report it anyway. They will also tell you that Trump did better in Iowa than he will in the Granite State even though the reverse is true - because math may be hard but bucking the conventional wisdom is harder. Trump got 51% of the voters (and 7% of all Republicans) in Iowa. He may get 57% in N.H. That would be MORE. B-Block (20:23) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: It's time for The New York Times to stop publishing the same column Maureen Dowd has rewritten every week since 1997; how NOT to suppress the news in Colorado (28:25) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The DeSantis War Room loses the battle of South CAROLINIA. The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (11/20/2023): 3:05pm- Earlier this month, in a social media post, Democratic political strategist David Axelrod expressed doubt that President Joe Biden could win reelection without strategic changes to his campaign and alterations to how the public perceives him—explaining that Biden needs to decide “whether it's in his best interest or the country's” to run again. According to reports, in response to the post, President Biden dismissed the critiques and referred to Axelrod as a “prick.” Now, Axelrod is reaffirming his prognostication. In an interview with Maureen Dowd of The New York Times, Axelrod said that he believes President Biden has a less than “50-50 shot” of winning reelection against presumed Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. On November 8, all three network (ABC, CBS, NBC) evening news programs relayed the bombshell development but only spent 100 seconds total on it, and dutifully repeated the debunked White House line of there's “no evidence” directly linking to the President. It was whisked away by the next day, as none of the network morning shows touched the story.” You can read the full article here: https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/geoffrey-dickens/2023/11/14/eight-new-biden-family-scandals-abc-cbs-nbc-are-hiding 4:05pm- Alex Nester—Investigative Fellow for Parents Defending Education—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss a new investigation into “Gender & Sexualities Alliance” and “Rainbow” clubs rising in prevalence in grade schools across the county. However, GSAs have ‘evolved beyond their traditional role' and ‘have emerged as vehicles for deep social change related to racial, gender, and educational justice.' Starting as early as pre-school, GSA clubs serve as a place for students to ‘meet and connect with other trans and queer students on campus,' ‘create safe spaces and talk about various issues they face,' and engage in activism.” You can read the full report here: https://defendinged.org/investigations/pride-and-prejudices/ 4:25pm- French film critics have written negative reviews of director Ridley Scott's newest film “Napoleon”—alleging that it is not historically accurate and is “very anti-French and very pro-British.” In response to the criticisms, Scott said to “shut the f*** up.” You can read more here: https://www.dailywire.com/news/ridley-scott-responds-to-french-critics-slamming-napoleon-shut-the-f-up 4:45pm- The executive branch continues to expand its power via an unchecked bureaucracy—and with each expansion comes a subsequent encroachment upon individual rights. EPISODE 226: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: In a normal world the criticisms were so milquetoast and so covered in caveats that they'd barely be noticed. In the context of the perpetual darkness of Donald Trump and the Coalition of Hatreds, they are bursts of sunlight. They inspired absolutely nobody, and it could all go away tomorrow as it has so many times before, but graded on degree of difficulty Nikki Haley and Tim Scott each gave The Gettysburg Address yesterday. SOMETHING has happened in the calculations of other Republicans regarding today's indictment of Donald Trump. As it ridiculous as it might be Haley and Scott are running for the Republican nomination and that there have been calls on the right for them and everybody but Trump to drop out and endorse Trump as a way to show they believe in Trump. And instead, at an event where he announced the endorsement of 140 Republicans, Tim Scott instead said “This case is a serious case with serious allegations.” And while that squeak heard round the Trump-World was reverberating, Nikki Haley went on Fox and said if the indictment is “true...President Trump was incredibly reckless with our national security. More than that, I'm a military spouse, my husband's about to deploy this weekend. This puts all of our military men and women in danger, if you talk about what our military is capable of, or how we would go about invading or doing something with one of our enemies. If that's the case, it's reckless, it's frustrating and it causes problems.” In the time of terrified subservience, as if Trump were Shtalin with hemorrhoids, Nikki Haley accused Trump of being reckless with the national security and endangering the lives of military men and women and talking about our military plans to invade – or defend against – other countries. In other words, she said everything I said on this podcast yesterday. And all the things DEMOCRATS WON'T SAY. And she said them on Fox. Tim Scott and Nikki Haley would be the LAST two I would've expected this from, and they did it on the same day, and they did it in what was for them very high profile venues and it means that they have completely re-calculated the equations. Each had slammed the indictments, unequivocally, last week. Haley and Scott didn't grow consciences over the weekend. The scales did not fall from their eyes. Neither is smart enough to have figured this all out by themselves. They HAVE to seen internal polling, or heard dire assessments of what is behind the indictment, or gotten advice from people THEY know and people they think know, that this is the moment to turn on Trump. It could be something we don't know about or it could be something The Wall Street Journal put up at noon yesterday. Headline: “Trump Needs White Suburban Women. His Indictment Splits Them. Key swing group could help decide who takes White House in 2024.” SOMETHING has HAPPENED. B-Block (20:43) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Fox sues Tucker Carlson for damages. Damages? Have you SEEN his Twitter videos? And the Saudi purchase of the PGA Tour now has to get past a Senate investigation (24:44) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Josh Blackman, would-be Maureen Dowd replacement; The Guardian has bad news for Harmeet Dhillon; And the guy who nearly killed The Washington Post, Fred Ryan, quits to become the boss at the Center For Civility at The Ronald Reagan Foundation (that's a job that comes with 52 weeks of vacation a year). 29:32 THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I played a clip of him a few weeks back, from a New York radio newscast we did together in 1980. He was the most talented person I ever worked with, and in the 40 years since nobody's come close. He was also the most mean-spirited, the most screwed up, and he met a tragic end. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for May 9, 2023 is: unctuous UNK-chuh-wus adjective Unctuous is a formal word used to describe someone who speaks and behaves in a way that is meant to seem friendly and polite but that is unpleasant because it is obviously not sincere. It can also mean “fatty,” “oily,” and “smooth and greasy in texture or appearance.” // Politicians are often at their most unctuous during election years, full of empty promises made solely to win over certain voters. // Braising chicken thighs with their skins on creates a rich, unctuous sauce that can be spooned back over the finished dish. See the entry > Examples: “The fate of a sycophant is never a happy one. At first, you think that fawning over the boss is a good way to move forward. But when you are dealing with a narcissist … you can never be unctuous enough.” — Maureen Dowd, The New York Times, 18 June 2022 Did you know? Nowadays, unctuous usually has a negative connotation, but it originated as a term describing a positive act: that of healing. The word comes from the Latin verb unguere (“to anoint”), a root that also gave rise to the words unguent (“a soothing or healing salve”) and ointment. The oily nature of ointments may have led to the use of unctuous to describe things marked by an artificial gloss of sentimentality. An unctuous individual may mean well, but the person's insincere effusiveness can leave an unwelcome residue—much like that of some ointments.
