Phil Harding had his hands in as many hits in the 80s/90s as anyone you care to mention. We will only concern ourselves with the better decade as we look into his career as producer/engineer and mixer.1. THE EARLY YEARS (Pre-1980-83)How Phil got into the business in the 70s, working with the likes of Gerry Rafferty (Baker Street!), The Walker Brothers (No Regrets!) and The Clash (White Man in Hammersmith Palais!), etc.Phil moves into the 80s with KIlling Joke and a very unique contribution to Sign of The Times by The Belle Stars. There is discussion on the differences (and similarities) between mixing pop and rock.2. MATT BIANCO/BASIA (1984-88)Working with Peter Collins leads to engineering Matt Bianco's first album which leads to Phil producing the follow up and mixing Basia's first solo LP. Through Peter connections are made with Pete Waterman.General chat on Phil's approach to mixing a track.3. STOCK AITKEN AND WATERMAN (PT 1) (1983-87)Phil enters the world of SAW. Talk of who did what within the team and experiences with Lamont Dozier, Princess, Mel & Kim and early Rick Astley.Further talk on who had "Woolworth's ears" and why SAW didn't produce Pet Shop Boys.4. DEAD OR ALIVE (1986-88)Let's face it, this section is almost exclusively about You Spin Me Round, the first SAW number one and an iconic 80s hit.5. BANANARAMA (1986-88)Working on Venus, Bananarama wanted the Spin-Me-Round hi NRG treatment, leading to a number of massive pop hits.  Also discussed is the Bananarama vocal approach and how it was decided who at the Hit Factory worked on what.EITHER/OR | Does Phil have the Terminator listen to Prince on his ghettoblaster or Robocop listen to MJ on his walkman?Phil can be found Website: philhardingmusic.comTwitter: @phardingmusicFacebook: Phil Harding80sography@gmail.comSend us a text

The project's true driving force is tofacilitate honest, vulnerable conversations about adoption. Too many people, she says, are ignoring these important issues. In addition to acting and writing, Zara is also a talented singer and songwriter who launched her career in the 80s, appearing in music videos and providing backing vocals on tour with Bob Geldof, Matt Bianco, David Essex and Nick Kamen. While taking some years away from creative endeavors to raise a family, she came back strong in the 2000s, releasing two albums(When The Rain Stops and You. Me & Us) produced by Ted Perlman, whose multi-faceted musical resume includes Whitney Houston, Bob Dylan and Chicago; earning a Best Homegrown Documentary honor for her 2008 film Roots Unknown at the Garden State Film Festival; and publishing in 2008 her first book Mother Me, a compelling memoir about her ongoing struggles as an adoptee now raising a family of her own. A few years later, Zara's song “I'm Legit,” co-written with Darryl McDaniels (DMC of Run-DMC), was a successful single in the adoption world and beyond. In 2014, Zara's one woman show Beneath My Father's Sky, directed by Eliza and Eric Roberts won Best Direction at NYC's United Solo Festival and was performed in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Connecticut and London in 2016. As she celebrates the release of her extraordinary autobiographical film Somebody's Daughter, Zara Phillips offers up some tough love truths that fly in the face of the often cheery, sanitized way adopted children (and other beings) are depicted in Disney films and other media. From her years of advocacy, studying contemporary sociological research and personal experiences as an adopted person herself, the passionate lifelong advocate for adoptees knows that even well into adulthood, their existential struggles of feeling like outsiders with little known stories of their history and birth parents makes them at least four times more likely to attempt suicide. They are also much more inclined to turn to addiction as a coping mechanism, as Zara did in her teens and early 20s. Somebody's Daughter - and the 2018 book and 2022 one-woman show the film is based on – focusses on Zara's personal journey of overcoming early addiction, navigating her life and meeting her birth father after many years and struggles after connecting with her birth mother. “This is not just an executive order. There is a point behind net zero goals, and this is to address climate change and global warming. A million and a half EVs were sold last year. Infrastructure is still being built. I'd say the train has left the station."  Joan Michelson on Full Crew Podcast The U.S. government has provided $7 billion in funding for critical minerals and $7 billion to fund 500,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. With a new administration now in place, what can this mean for the transition to EVs, as well as EV policies and regulations? Listen to Joan Michelson's discussion on the tech podcast Full Crew, with Matt Bianco, President of FedWay Consulting and Chris Treanor, Partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld. This podcast was recorded before the 2024 US presidential election, but the insights are more relevant than ever. You'll hear about: The critical role of government policies and regulations in driving EV adoption. Concerns about supply chain security and the dominance of China in the global EV market. The increasing focus on cybersecurity and supply chain security. The federal government's efforts to procure and deploy EV charging infrastructure. Mother Nature, society, and our political systems remind us of that every day.” Joan Michelson in Forbes Read Joan's Forbes articles here. Adrienne invited five distinguished guests: Dr. Matthew Post, Dr. Matthew Bianco, Dr. Gary Hartenburg, Karen Glass, and Peach Smith to discuss the topic of virtue in education. How ought virtue be taught and can it be taught? What's the practical end of teaching virtue? These are all questions we ponder in this episode to further our understanding of what virtue is and how to attain it. Some Topics and Ideas in this Episode Include:  What is virtue according to the tradition?
