Eric & Eliza RobertsTake a walk with me down Fascination Street, as I get to know Eric & Eliza Roberts. You know Eric from over 800 acting projects: including The Pope Of Greenwich Village, Runaway Train, The Specialist, The Righteous Gemstones, Star 80, King of the Gypsies, and several hundred more. You know his wife Eliza from many, many projects like: The Howdy Doody Show, Animal House, Lois & Clark, and Dr. Who; as well as casting and producing in a myriad of other film and television projects. In this episode, we get to know where and how each of them grew up, and what got them into the industry. We also get to hear their love story. I love finding out how couples met, and this is a great story! Next, we launch into everything from movies and TV shows, and their experiences on those sets. Eliza shares stories of trying to help spouses & girlfriends of actors feel more comfortable with their partners doing love scenes. Eric shares behind the scenes stories on the sets of The Specialist (with Sylvester Stallone), and The Expendables. Eric then gets Eliza to share stories of helping get George Clooney cast in E.R, and even helping to convince John Travolta to accept his role in Quinton Tarantino's Pulp Fiction! We discuss Eliza's kids (Eric's step kids); one has Pi Bakeshop in Los Angeles, and the other is a VERY accomplished musician. Naturally, we discuss Eric's experiences on the most recent season of Dancing With The Stars, and Eliza explains how KISS's Gene Simmons helped shorten Eric's time in the competition. Lastly, we talk about the book! 'Runaway Train: Or, The Story Of My Life So Far' is Eric Robert's memoir (with Sam Kashner). We chat about why he decided to write the book, and how much help Eliza was in getting him to do it, and actually getting it made. This is a real Hollywood POWER COUPLE! They share the workload, and the credit. It was super sweet getting to see them pass the credit to each other.

o wrap up this week on Wall Street Rap, Eric Robert, Director of Investments, discussed a notable uptick in consumer sentiment, reaching a six-month high, largely due to lower interest rates and easing inflation. This optimism signals a potential boost in consumer spending, which could impact economic growth positively.

This week on the Exciting & New podcast, Jason, Andy and Dana are joined for the first time, but hopefully not the last time, by Andy's oldest, Daniel. He felt it was about time he got off the couch and got into the hot seat as we discuss the 1984 crime, mob-adjacent drama, The Pope of Greenwich Village. Mickey Rourke, still young and in all his hottness, is led astray by his dim-witted cousin Eric Roberts as they rip off a local mob boss and have to pay the price. The price? THEY TOOK MY THUMB, CHARLIE!! Eric Robert's acting is over the top in the movie. Almost to the point that this movie becomes a comedy. Is it supposed to be funny? We all laughed. Anyway, this was an interesting movie to initiate Daniel on and we hope we didnt frighten him off. Enjoy the pod.

Before we get started, let me say one thing: actually, let it be two things: or maybe three things: one, Eric Robert's hair reached its peak volume and glory in this movie; two, Adam picked this one and Aidan had nothing to do with it; three, Best of the Best is eye-wateringly bad, but it's impossible to tear your eyes away from the damn thing. It never wavers from its mission, which is to tell the heart-stirring story of a ragtag team of American fighters going up against the Korean Tae Kwon Do team for honour and glory. Not a single awful second is wasted in its dedication to telling the story of Alex Grady (Eric Roberts), a disgraced fighter who has one shot at restoring his former glory. Except it's also the story of Tommy Lee (Phillip Rhee), who needs to overcome his most painful memories and defeat a) the leader of the Korean team and b) his inner demons. Pick a movie, ya freaking movie! You know what, two stories is fine. Especially if Eric Roberts kicks a man in the face. Which he does. Repeatedly.Unfortunately, no one in Best of the Best appeared in any episodes of The Equalizer or Spencer: For Hire. We regret the vagaries of fate.

Eric and I go over a synopsis of this play, first staged in 1897 to immense adulation. Then we discuss the meaning of the love triangle, the larger-than-life character of Cyrano and the meaning of the play. Since 1897 there has been a variety of different projections of Cyrano's looks. This is an important feature of the play. How ugly should Cyrano be? What is it that Roxanne falls in love with? Can a beautiful man also be bright and clever and witty? What role does Cyrano's nose play?We analyze some specific passages in the play.We take a look at the spiritual/body dichotomy in the play. The role of “success” in Cyrano. In the second half of the conversation, Eric, who is a Catholic, and I have a debate about Pride and the meaning of Cyrano's Pride.Eric Robert Morse (ericrobertmorse.com) is a writer, publisher, painter, illustrator, web programmer, philosopher, theologian, economist, and historian. My intention was to take a mental break during the holidays from reading about and watching different murder kind of of stories. That didn’t last. Very long. I got wrapped up watching the Richard Jewell movie that Clint Eastwood directed in 2019. I hadn’t seen it yet, so I watched it. Then on Netflix, they released Manhunt: Deadly Games... which is about the Olympic Park Bombing that basically ruined Richard Jewell’s life for years after being falsely accused. The Netflix series focused on the piece of garbage that actually DID do it, along with his multiple other bombings. I realized that even though I’m pretty aware of the story, mostly because I live in Alabama and that’s where Eric Robert Rudolph did a lot of damage, but I was a kid at the time and kind of got tired of hearing about it on the news every day… so I tuned it out. Also, it wouldn’t be until years later that the full scope of his crimes were revealed. Most people mentally moved on as well, just assuming that Richard Jewell was guilty or at least involved. So in 2020, before reading up a lot more, I knew that the only role Jewell played that day was as a security guard that spotted the backpack that ended up being a bomb, and saving lives by alerting officers and getting people away from the blast area. But today we're talking about the actual murderer… Eric Robert Rudolph. Subscribe and share 10 Minute Murder with your friends. So an Atheist and a Catholic enter a podcast studio... I had a great time and a great conversation with Eric Robert Morse, author of The Juggernaut: Why the System Crushes the Only People Who Can Save it." This poem by William Blake was great fodder for a much larger discussion: What is the ideal society and how does one build it. What I found most interesting in this discussion was that eventually we got to the point where we were discussing out methods of thinking. This is the most critical aspects of coming to conclusion. If one person see the world as concretes disconnected from abstractions or vice versa or somewhere in between that makes it hard to converse. Yet we figured it out and by the end came to some interesting conclusions on how an atheist and a Catholic can come to some serious agreements. Enjoy.
