But, there is hope and healing. Today, I am joined by someone who has an incredible story of resilience in the face of rejection. He is a pastor, entrepreneur, author, singer, break dancer, fashion designer, husband, father and I am honored to call him my friend and brother, George Davis.Check out my new website!https://www.nonajones.com/ Take a look at my other books!https://www.nonajones.com/books

"I am a producer, musician and DJ from Frankfurt, Germany. My second base is Atlanta. Frankfurt, with its more electronic-based sound and Atlanta, with its more soulful sound, significantly impacted me. My house productions have been heavily influenced by the deep and soulful house sound of the late 90s and the early and mid 2000s. In addition to house, I spin broken beat, afrobeat, disco, funk, soul, Bossa, etc, basically a large part of the music of the Afro diaspora. For this particular set, I tried to stay within the realms of house. My second EP on Kickin' Up Dust is droppin' this November – make sure to check out the first one as well! Always remember music heals the body, mind & soul. Enjoy the mix! All the best, George"

The greatest players to have ever appeared in a Major League Baseball game are honored and immortalized in Cooperstown, New York at the Baseball Hall of Fame. Players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Ty Cobb and Christy Mathewson. Ted William and Joe DiMaggio. Mickey Mantle and Stan Musial. Of course there's Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Tom Seaver and more recently Ken Griffey, Jr. and Mariano Rivera. But there are dozens upon dozens more who have been enshrined and whose stories we know so little about. Names very few of us recognize. Guys like Dan Brouthers, Deacon White, Bid McPhee and George Davis. Guys who had great careers, but guys whom we know so little about - not matter how deserving of a plaque they are. Another of those names is Dave Bancroft. He made his debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1915 and led them to a World Series appearance. A career .279 hitter, Bancroft enjoyed his best years with the New York Giants for whom he hit .310 and played shortstop on a team that went to three straight World Series and twice came out on top, beating the New York Yankees in 1921 and 1922. Bancroft was a "beauty" at shortstop. In fact, his game might most be compared to that of a more recent defensive "wiz" - Ozzie Smith. On this episode of Sports' Forgotten Heroes, author Tom Alesia joins for a wonderful conversation about one of baseball's most obscure Hall of Famers - Dave Bancroft. Tom's new book, "Beauty At Short" is a terrific retrospective on a career so many know so little about. Tom and I talk about Dave's early struggles at the plate, his defensive genius in the field, his desire to manage, his days as a playing-manager with the Boston Braves, his days as a Manager in the All America Girls Baseball Association and Dave's life off the field.

On June 10th 2022, the ATV-TALK team traveled to Ohio to attend the Briarcliff round 7 ATV MX Nationals. During the event, host Leonard Duncan had the opportunity to meet the top five MX Pros Brandon Hoag(5th), Jeffery Rastrelli(4th), Bryce Ford(3rd), Chad Wienen(2nd), and Joel Hetrick(1st). A live press conference was held before the race guest, George Davis, assisted with the interview. During it, the racers talked about their season, dealing with mechanical issues, and the track condition. From Brandon Hoag digging his way back from unforeseen engine failure in round 1 while leading the race, to Jeffery Rastrelli taking on the duties of running his own team, a new business, and recovering from a personal health issue, to Bryce Ford being picked for Team USA, which brought some unwanted haters on social media but focus and teamwork bounced him back, to Chad Wienen finding himself in an unusual spot trailing deep in the seasons points totals winning the last 2 rounds, to your points' leader Joel Hetrick, who has a new look on the track this year, practicing patience and calm to lead the way to a possible 3 national title. Remember, these are the fastest 5 men on ATVs in the world bar none. It is believed to date that this is the first press conference of its kind in the industry. So, hear how they have overcome difficulties on and off the track and do not miss the opportunity to learn from the best.
The Beyond The Fog Radio team is hard at work recording and editing new episodes for Season 4 — releasing this August! — but in the meantime, we're looking back at some of our favorite interviews from Seasons 2 and 3. This week, we revisit our interview with developers and community leaders Michael Baines and Cathy Davis (Season 3 Episode XX). Michael Baines is a developer and contractor for low-income housing and the founder BGI Group Inc., the largest employer of formerly-incarcerated people in the Bay Area. Cathy Davis is the Executive Director of Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services, a nonprofit that provides services to disadvantaged seniors in San Francisco. She also runs the Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center, founded by her late husband Dr. George Davis and built by Michael's company. Together, these two have made an immense and tangible impact on their community. Their social justice development model has broken barriers for the city's seniors, and even involved whole communities to create a commercial kitchen that generates profit for the senior center. They do their work humbly and whole-heartedly. We believe this interview is priceless in its wisdom about helping those in need. Let's take another listen to Michael Baines and Cathy Davis! (For more information about Michael Baines and his company, visit bgiconstruction.com/bgi-management . Our guests this week, Michael Baines and Cathy Davis, have done incredible work to help our city's challenged neighborhoods. Michael Baines is a developer and contractor for low-income housing and founded his own company, BGI Group Inc. Even more, his company is the largest employer of formerly incarcerated people in the Bay Area. Cathy Davis is the Executive Director of Bayview Hunters Point Multipurpose Senior Services, a nonprofit that provides services to disadvantaged seniors in San Francisco. She likewise runs the Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center, founded by her late husband George Davis, and built by Michael's company. With Michael as the builder and Cathy running the non-profit and senior center, the two have made an immense and tangible impact on their community. They've made a social justice development model that's broken barriers for the city's seniors and even involved whole communities to create a commercial kitchen that generates profit for the senior center. They do their work humbly and whole-heartedly. We believe this interview is priceless in its wisdom about helping those in need.
