Episode 292 features Scott Love interviewing culture-transformation author and speaker Greg Hawks about his book Act Like an Owner: Five Unlocks for Creating Culture People Love and Results Leaders Need. Hawks frames workplace behavior through a simple but sticky metaphor drawn from his years as a landlord: in every organization you have owners (people who take responsibility and treat the “house” like it's theirs), renters (people who do their jobs but don't emotionally invest), and vandals (people who actively damage culture through blame, excuses, and disregard). A key point is that “acting like an owner” isn't reserved for people with equity—anyone can adopt an owner mindset, and leaders of even small teams can influence culture by clarifying what commitment looks like, building trust, and refusing to tolerate “vandal” behavior that demoralizes everyone else. Hawks also emphasizes that culture improvement is often less about elaborate programs and more about consistent, practical behaviors that create momentum. He highlights the value of clear standards and accountability (commitment measured by responsibility rather than hours), and “activating lasting value” through simple, specific encouragement that accelerates trust (“people like people who like them”). He argues the real leverage move isn't obsessing over disengaged “renters” but addressing actively disengaged “vandals,” because removing toxic behavior makes it safe for others to re-invest. The conversation closes with actionable guidance: think beyond your own “room” and care about the whole “house,” notice and affirm positive behaviors in others regularly, and ask yourself in every situation whether you're owning outcomes or defaulting to blame. Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, Beau Morgan, and Dylan Mathews talk about Onyeka Okongwu losing some teeth in the Atlanta Hawks 117-106 win over the Boston Celtics last night in Boston, and explain why they think the Hawks are finally looking like the team they were expected to be and look like in the post Trae Young era.
HR3 - If Michael Penix can go through motions during offseason programs that's a win Mike Johnson, Ali Mac, and Beau Morgan quickly touch on some of the biggest headlines around the local and national sports scene, let you hear Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. tell Sports Director of WSB-TV Channel 2 in Atlanta Zach Klein that he'll be ready to play week one, react to what Penix Jr. had to say, and explain why they think Penix Jr.'s previous knee injuries should help him be ready for week one. Then, Mike, Ali, and Beau spend some time with reporter, host, and analyst for CBS Sports Evan Washburn! Mike, Beau, Ali, and Evan discuss how Evan prepared for the cold and snowy AFC Championship game last Sunday, how much the weather affected the AFC Championship game, Bo Nix saying that he does not have a preexisting condition in his right ankle that would have required surgery in the future had he not suffered the fracture in the AFC Championship game, how Evan feels about the Atlanta Falcons hiring Kevin Stefanski as their next Head Coach, the people at CBS missing Matt Ryan but being happy for him and his new role as the Falcons President of Football, what Evan's reaction was when he found out Bill Belichick wasn't a first ballot Hall of Famer, and if he was more surprised that New York Jets Head Coach Aaron Glenn was allowed to basically fire his whole coaching staff, the Buffalo Bills deciding to promote Offensive Coordinator Joe Brady and make him their next Head Coach, or the rumors that Jim Schwartz and Todd Monken could end up being co-head coaches in Cleveland for the Browns. The Morning Shift crew also talks about Onyeka Okongwu losing some teeth in the Atlanta Hawks 117-106 win over the Boston Celtics last night in Boston, explain why they think the Hawks are finally looking like the team they were expected to be and look like in the post Trae Young era, and then close out hour three by answering people's questions about anything in the Morning Mailbag!

We are just 10 sleeps away from the Super Bowl and we can't underestimate this Patriots team. They've got a solid defense and the runner-up MVP and we haven't seen them without weather being a factor in a few weeks, not to mention they went up against 2 of the top 3 defenses in the league in the last two games and they found a way to win. Now, with the weather they've dealt with in the playoffs, we don't know that they're defense is as good as it's looked, but we do know that their offense is better than they've looked. Mike MacDonald will have his team ready to go and there's no way they're reading all their hype, but a lot of National and some local media think this thing is a lock for the Hawks. :30- It's time to hand out some more Scarlett D's and one of them hits close to home. :45- No, Ryan Leaf does not have a hall of fame vote… although a lot of people thought he did yesterday! The Seahawks learned a tough lesson last week in Williamsburg, where another first-half deficit proved too deep to dig out of against a good William & Mary team. The Tribe mixed their defenses early and got UNCW out of character before a second-half rally. It seemed there was a lesson in the loss, though, as the Hawks showed up with their best all-around performance in weeks in a tough win at Hampton behind an incredible performance from Greedy Williams, another big one from Patrick Wessler, and nice contributions from Makoi Mabor and Jahnathan Lamothe. Now, UNCW heads north to meet rival Towson in a pivotal game for the Tigers, who sit at 4-4 after recovering from a slow start in CAA play.
