In today's episode, Yellow and I make an attempt to put the pieces of the puzzle together to get a clearer picture and a better understanding regarding the immigration issue in this country. We also take time out to remember Emantic Fitzgerald Bradford jr, an African-American man who was shot and killed by police prior to Black Friday at the Riverchase Galleria shopping mall in Hoover, Alabama. E.J., an army officer was initially thought to be the active shooter at the time of the incident. Jemel Roberson, a 26-year-old security guard unfortunately met the same fate when he was shot and killed by Chicago police after detaining a shooter at a bar. We closely re-examined the "Good Guy with a Gun" narrative and whether or not there's a double standard depending on who's holding the gun. Lastly, actor and musician Common does something special that deserves our attention on today's episode. Thank you for joining us today. Enjoy!

The title of today’s show is ‘SAME OLD GAME.’ We will be discussing the on-going plight of injustice for Black Men; a man helps his drunken neighbor to get home safely and gets arrested—imagine that.  While a police chief only gets three years for framing innocent Black men.  Jemel Roberson is shot and killed by police while detaining a shooter; Jemel was the security guard at the bar.  Well now, let’s talk GM buyout offer for employees before announcement of 14K job layoff.  Can we say blame it on the trade war---really.  At the other end of the extreme Michael Cohen admits that he lied to Congress; why—loyalty to Trump.  This will be quite an interesting show.  Tune in listen and let us hear your thoughts about these and other essential topics of the Same Old Game.  Black History Person---Jack Leroy Cooper (September 18, 1888 – January 12, 1970) was the first African-American radio disc jockey, described as "the undisputed patriarch of black radio in the United States. We are back after taking a week off to enjoy family and friends. The title of the show today is 'IT'S ALL A ILLUSION'. On the show today we will be discussing topics that illustrate just how today's society cannot trust much of what you see or hear. We will first discuss a story out of Chicago where a black security guard performing his duties is mistaken for a suspect and shot to death by a white police officer; who was not from the local area. The story of a 26-year old american missionary who was killed on a forbidden island in the Andaman Sea; some say africans and native americans should have done the same when europeans came calling. A story regarding a FedEx driver who was called racial slurs will not be charged for punching the person who was responsible whom later died; isn't about time all this type of non-sense stopped? There reportedly has been another toxic gas attack in Aleppo City or was this just another false flag to change the narrative of what is happening in Mexico and the Uitted States concerning the caravans? The President has demanded action to reduce the federal deficit but yet continues to push for money to build the wall on the border; although there has been a large increase in the federal deficit for the last twelve months. These are just a few of the topics open for discussion on the show today and as always we encourage you to call in with your comments. The LAVA Flow | Libertarian | Anarcho-capitalist | Voluntaryist | Agorist

Julian Assange has been charged in the US. Let's take a look at why this is happening. What's in the News with stories on government waste times two, feeding the homeless, sterilizing women, secession news, and Big Brother. And Yet Another Bad Cop on a cop killing a security guard doing his job. This episode is brought to you by ZenCash, now known as Horizen, a cryptocurrency that infuses privacy, anonymity, and security, done right. Also, brought to you by SmartCash, an easy to use, fast, and secure cryptocurrency that supports everyday use for everyday transactions.   WHAT'S RUSTLING MY JIMMIES This story broke as an accident, albeit an accident caused by government incompetence, but it is apparent now that the United States Justice Department is filing criminal charges against the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange The disclosure came in a filing in a case unrelated to Assange. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kellen S. Dwyer, urging a judge to keep the matter sealed, wrote, "due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged." Later, Dwyer wrote the charges would "need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested." Dwyer is also assigned to the WikiLeaks case. People familiar with the matter said what Dwyer was disclosing was true, but unintentional. On Thursday evening, Seamus Hughes, the deputy director of the Program on Extremism at George Washington University who is known for scrubbing court filings, posted about the apparent error on Twitter — which first brought it to the attention of reporters. Some people believe this was a simple copy and paste error and that the Assange indictment was used as a template for the unrelated case.   WHAT'S IN THE NEWS In government waste news, the US Postal Service lost $3.9 billion last year, while UPS and FedEx are doing well. In who would feed the homeless news, a coordinated wave of Kansas City Health Department inspectors simultaneously shut down large picnics across the city Sunday that were serving food to homeless and hungry people.  In socialist Canada news, indigenous women were being kept from seeing their newborn babies until they agree to sterilization.  In more government waste news, a new report from Brown University is aiming to provide a close estimate of the cost of the overall cost to the US government of its myriad post-9/11 wars and assorted global wars on terror. The estimate is that $5.933 trillion has been spent through fiscal year 2019.  In secession news, a Spanish audit office has ordered former Catalan leader Artur Mas and nine others to repay 4.9 million euros (5.6 million dollars) of public money spent on a non-binding independence ballot in 2014.  In Big Brother news, the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have hidden an undisclosed number of covert surveillance cameras inside streetlights around the country, federal contracting documents reveal.    AND YET ANOTHER BAD COP When police arrived after reports of a shooting over the weekend at a bar outside Chicago, witnesses say Jemel Roberson, a 26-year-old security guard who worked there, had already subdued the alleged assailant in the parking lot, pinning him to the ground. Adam Harris, who was at Manny's Blue Bar in Robbins at the time of the incident on Sunday, told WGN-TV that Roberson was holding "somebody on the ground with his knee in his back, with his gun in his back" when officers from neighboring Midlothian got there early Sunday. Midlothian Police Chief Daniel Delaney said that's when one of his officers "encountered a subject with a gun" and shot him, according to a statement given to the media. But the "subject" was Roberson, not the suspect in the bar shooting.

It’s another tragic thing to talk about, live through, watch and mourn but a black man with a gun was killed by a police officer in Illinois.  As a Second Amendment advocate and civil rights activist I am unfortunately in a familiar place.  Yes, I have been here before.  Questioned by friends, and scolded by enemies.  A life was lost and no solution seems worthy.  A mother lost her son, a church lost its keyboardist member, the divide between law enforcement and the community stays wide.  After the obvious bloviating, pontifications and generalities, what?   Racism.  Fear.  Perceptions. Poor Training.  Poor Hiring. Evil.  Some will blame the gun, race and the police.  The blame game, nor politics will bring Jemel back.  I am praying for our nation.  We haven’t overcome.  We haven’t achieved     "...Let us not wallow in the valley of despair. I say to you today, my friends, that in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.     I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the TRUE MEANING OF ITS CREED. Around 4 AM bar security guard Jemel Roberson was trying to subdue a suspect in a bar shooting. Police arrived on scene, saw Roberson with a gun and opened fire, taking his life. One killed and four wounded in the exchange of gun fire. We don't know all the details of this incident, but there are some valuable conceal carry lessons here we should all ponder. Experienced cop Jim Dexter talks about what police are thinking about as they enter a crime scene... And more specifically what a lawful conceal carry citizen should and shouldn't do. Far-right Education Minister Naftali Bennett threatened to withdraw his own party from the governing coalition unless Netanyahu names him as the new Defense Minister. Wednesday’s regular segment, Beyond Nuclear, is about nuclear issues, including weapons, energy, waste, and the future of nuclear technology in the United States. Kevin Kamps, the Radioactive Waste Watchdog at the organization Beyond Nuclear, joins the show. In an interview with the Washington Post yesterday Vice President Pence said that if China wants to avoid what he called an all-out Cold War with the United States and its partners, it must fundamentally change its behavior. The comments came in advance of President Trump’s meeting later this month with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Brian and John speak with Jude Woodward, the author of the new book “The US vs China: Asia's new Cold War?” British Prime Minister Theresa May told parliament today that the country is “significantly closer” to delivering on Brexit, saying that the draft agreement reached with the European Union would give the UK control of its borders, laws, and money. She is seeking the backing of her senior-most ministers before putting the agreement to a parliamentary vote. Steve Keen, the author of “Debunking Economics” and the world’s first crowdfunded economist, whose work is at patreon.com/ProfSteveKeen, joins the show. Jemel Roberson was shot by police in a Chicago suburb earlier this week. He was a Black security guard who was on duty the night a shooter came to the bar where he worked. He successfully had the alleged shooter on the ground when cops got there, but instead of taking the shooter into custody, the cops shot and killed Roberson, the security guard. Frank Chapman, a longtime organizer with the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, joins Brian and John. Protesting students in Colombia are preparing for a major demonstration tomorrow as they continue their struggle for adequate funding for the country’s higher education. Christian Polo, the spokesperson for the National Union of Students in Higher Education at the National University of Colombia in Bogota, joins the show.President Trump today named the former Commander of Central Command, General John Abizaid, as the new Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The appointment came as a surprise, as Abi Zaid has no known direct ties to Trump and the Saudis insist that any US Ambassador be a direct line to the president. Brian and John speak with Ali al-Ahmed, the Director of the Institute for Gulf Affairs.

I revisit "The Hate Project: Episode 18" broadcast on MLK Day January 21st, 2013. I pitch a business idea for booths that allow people to pay to say racist words in private.   African-American sports radio host NajRadio offers sympathetic perspective on white men who are left behind, and feel they have no access to the white privilege often attributed to them, but we also talk about the powerful people who take advantage of them.  Resident Klansman Dragon 1488 calls in, offers a very reasonable explanation on why regular citizens should not be allowed to own assault rifles, surprising given his ideology and membership of a hate group. I offer commentary at the very beginning reflecting on these conversations with discussion on recent events such as the shooting in Thousand Oaks, CA and the shooting of Jemel Roberson in Chicago.  Email: paradoxofcivility@gmail.comTwitter: @civilpodcastFacebook:  https://www.facebook.com/paradoxofcivility/ References from episode: Thousand Oaks gunman Ian David Long: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2018/11/08/ian-long-gunman-thousand-oaks-california-borderline-bar-grill/1928231002/ Ticking Time Bomb, sexual and physical assault: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/high-school-coach-says-california-gunman-ian-long-was-ticking-n935061 Gunman's social media during massacre: https://abc7.com/thousand-oaks-gunman-posted-to-social-media-during-attack/4655827/ Don't blame PTSD: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2018/11/08/thousand-oaks-shooter-experts-caution-against-blaming-ptsd-military-mass-shooting/1934942002/ NRA fights Doctors: https://www.npr.org/2018/11/11/666762890/after-nra-mocks-doctors-physicians-reply-this-is-our-lane Jemel Roberson senseless murder: https://chicago.cbslocal.com/2018/11/12/robbins-shooting-security-guard-jemel-roberson-midlothian-police-officer-mannys-luxury-lounge/ NRA silent about Jemel Roberson and other black good guys with guns: https://www.themarysue.com/a-good-with-a-gun-killed/ 2013 gun show injuries: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/5-injured-in-firearm-accidents-at-saturday-gun-shows/ Music:  Gnossienne no. 1 by International Surrealist Bulletinis licensed under a CC0 1.0 Universal License.Remedy for Melancholy by Kai Engel is licensed under a Attribution License.
