Na'hum. (consolation). Nahum, called "the Elkoshite," is the seventh, in order, of the Minor Prophets. His personal history is quite unknown. The site of Elkosh, his native place, is disputed, some placing it in Galilee, others in AssyriaThe name refers back to Yahweh's compassion connected with Jonah's mission eighty-seven years before. What is the purpose of this book? The book of Nahum is devoted exclusively to the announcement of the destruction of the city of Nineveh; the prophecy gave hope to the people of Judah who had long been terrorized by Assyria's constant and ominous threatBefore I get into this study, I discuss the negative side of the word ‘whirlwind', which we find in verse 3 is the positive side of Yahweh's WordJuly 20th 1776 we read of a letter written from John Page to Thomas Jefferson. At the end of this letter John Page writes; “P.S. I am highly pleased with your Declaration. God preserve the united States. We know the Race is not to the swift nor the Battle to the strong. Do you not think an Angel rides in the Whirlwind and directs this Storm?” Knowing what I know about Jefferson, John Page could not have been talking about Yahweh! But his pagan godIn his book, American Dynasty, Kevin Phillips confirms this practice of message-coding by Bush, pointing out the ever-present references in the president's speeches to words such as “evil” and “evil ones.” At the top of Phillips' list is reference again to the use of the metaphysical phrase “whirlwind,” which he interprets as “a medium for the voice of God.” From an esoteric point of view, Phillips was either unaware of or unwilling to discuss the deeper, contemporary meaning of this language and its importance to secret societiesInvitation to angels by elected officials combined with passive civilian conformity is key to opening doorways for supernatural agents to engage social governance. This is a classic tenet of demonology. Spirits go where they are invited, whether to possess an individual or to take dominion over a region. One could contend therefore that starting in 2001, the United States became so disposed in following and not challenging unprecedented changes to longstanding U.S. policies including the Christian rules for just war, that a powerful force known to the Illuminati as the “Moriah Conquering Wind,” a.k.a. “the Angel in the Whirlwind” accepted the administration's invitation and enthroned itself in the nation's capitalIn 1992, former M16 British Intelligence Officer, Dr. John Coleman wrote a book about “The Committee of 300” in which he claimed inside knowledge concerning world manipulation by an occult Illuminati elite. According to Coleman, “Moriah Conquering Wind” is one of the modern names the society members go by. He stated:Included in the membership are the old families of the European Black Nobility, the American Eastern Liberal Establishment (in Freemason hierarchy and the Order of Skull and Bone), the Illuminati, or, as it is known by the Committee, “MORIAH CONQUERING WIND”…. In the Committee of 300, which has a 150-year history, we have some of the most brilliant intellects assembled to form a completely totalitarian, absolutely controlled “new” society - only it isn't new, having drawn most of its ideas from the Clubs of Cultus Diabolicus. It strives toward a One World Government rather well described by one of its late members, H. G. Wells, in his work commissioned by the Committee which Wells boldly called: “THE OPEN CONSPIRACY-- PLANS FOR A WORLD REVOLUTION.” The same spiritual battle that took place in the times of Nahum is taken place right now in America. Bush: 'Inaugural Address' (3)America,at its best, is a place where personal responsibility is valued and expected.Encouraging responsibility is not a search for scapegoats, it is a call to conscience. And though it requires sacrifice, it brings a deeper fulfillment. We find the fullness of life not only in options, but in commitments. And we find that children and community are the commitments that set us free. Our public interest depends on private character, on civic duty and family bonds and basic fairness, on uncounted, unhonored acts of decency which give direction to our freedom.Sometimes in life we are called to do great things. But as a saint of our times has said, every day we are called to do small things with great love. The most important tasks of a democracy are done by everyone.I will live and lead by these principles: to advance my convictions with civility, to pursue the public interest with courage, to speak for greater justice and compassion, to call for responsibility and try to live it as well.In all these ways, I will bring the values of our history to the care of our times. What you do is as important as anything government does.I ask you to seek a common good beyond your comfort; to defend needed reforms against easy attacks; to serve your nation, beginning with your neighbor.I ask you to be citizens: citizens, not spectators; citizens, not subjects; responsible citizens, building communities of service and a nation of character.Americans are generous and strong and decent, not because we believe in ourselves, but because we hold beliefs beyond ourselves. When this spirit of citizenship is missing, no government program can replace it.When this spirit is present, no wrong can stand against it.After the Declaration of Independence was signed, Virginia statesman John Page wrote to Thomas Jefferson:"We know the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong. Do you not think an angel rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm?"Much time has passed since Jefferson arrived for his inauguration. The years and changes accumulate. But the themes of this day he would know: our nation's grand story of courage andits simple dream of dignity. We are not this story's author, who fills time and eternity with his purpose.Yet his purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled in service toone another.Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make our country more just and generous, to affirm the dignity of our lives and everylife. This work continues. This story goes on.And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm.God bless you all, and God bless America.
“started out of our desire to build our home, and trying to come to terms with with a style that both my wife and I liked and agreed on. So once she found the look of timber framing, and just, we both agreed that that was something that we could get into and that we wanted to go after it. “ -John Page Welcome to a brand-new episode of the Woodpreneur Podcast. Today, your host Steve Larosiliere is joined by John Page from Page Timber Works. John's journey into the world of timber works began in his childhood, woodworking alongside his father. As the oldest of four boys in a large family, contributing was a way of life. After a decade in remodeling post-high school, John's path took a pivotal turn when he and his wife decided to build their home. Their shared love for timber framing style became the foundation of Page Timber Works. In 2011, John attended a workshop to learn traditional methods of timber framing, marking the official start of his venture. What followed was five years of marketing, introducing the unique craft to the community, and undertaking projects like porches, pergolas, pool houses, and even cabins. Eight years later, John and his team built their own home, a testament to their skill and dedication to the craft. Listen now and get the whole story! “We do so many different things that it's that part of what I love about it is the you don't ever get bored with it.” -John Page Embracing a Unique Style in Timber Framing Timber framing was relatively new in John's central U.S. area, and educating the community became a significant part of his journey. John leveraged his and his father's reputations to introduce and expand the reach of this unique craft. The First Major Breakthrough The turning point for Page Timber Works was a massive barn project. This post and beam structure, featuring custom elements and challenging dimensions, proved John's capability to handle ambitious projects, paving the way for future success. Evolution of the Business Vision John's business didn't start with a grand plan but rather from a practical need to earn a living while maintaining work-life balance. Timber framing started as a personal project for his home but evolved into a business passion. Today, Page Timber Works is more than a timber framing company; it's a full-service general contractor still engaged in remodeling but with a strong focus on high-quality, timber-framed structures. Team Dynamics and Day-to-Day Operations John leads a team of six full-time craftsmen, including a timber design specialist and project manager. His role varies from sales to sourcing materials, reviewing estimates, and ensuring smooth operation across projects. His hands-on approach keeps him intimately involved in every aspect of the business. Balancing Family Life John, a father of five, faces the challenge of balancing a growing business with family life. Involving his children in the business and spending quality time with them helps maintain this delicate balance. Future Plans and Aspirations Looking ahead, John aims for a more consistent work-life balance and is committed to nurturing his employee relationships. He also plans to introduce a furniture element to the business, leveraging Arkansas's abundant timber resources. Marketing and Client Relationships John and his team focus on building strong client relationships. A significant part of their marketing strategy involves revisiting past clients to introduce new services like furniture making, demonstrating a commitment to long-term relationships and community building. Firm clients are focusing on diversity internally and with their outside counsel. While we all generally know what ‘diversity' means, we all may not have diligently considered what it takes to create diversity in a law firm, worked to intentionally and meaningfully advance diversity in our law firms, and/or identified innovative ways to foster inclusion in law firms that support retaining diverse talent. In this episode of Diversity Ever After, host Kennard Davis reflects on these questions by obtaining the perspective of three special guests: Marcus Brown, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Entergy Corporation, Chris Walker, Associate General Counsel at Jacobs Engineering Group, and Danielle Agee, Market General Counsel for the Southcentral Market at Verizon. Join us for an engaging discussion on the meaning of diversity, how law firm clients are also working internally to create more diverse and inclusive teams, actionable ways to facilitate purposeful development of minority attorneys who work in law firms, and methods for holding firms accountable to the diversity requirements set by their clients. It's Friday the 13th of May, 2022, and this is a look at the information security news from overnight. From PortSwigger.net:John Page at Malvuln.com has discovered a vulnerability in the REvil ransomware that can be exploited to deactivate the malware before it encrypts any files. REvil searches for and executes DLLs in the directory where it is located. By hijacking a vulnerable DLL and executing specially crafted code, he was able to stop and terminate REvil before it started encrypting. Details, including a proof of concept, in the article. From BleepingComputer.com:Threat analysts have spotted a novel attack attributed to the Iranian hacking group APT34 or Oilrig, targeting Jordanian diplomats with custom-crafted tools. The spear-phishing email has an Excel attachment that contains VBA macro code to load a malicious executable, a configuration file, and a signed and clean DLL. It also checks for the existence of a mouse, which if you are playing in a sandbox, may not be there. From SecurityWeek.com:Thousands of Zyxel firewalls could be vulnerable to remote attacks which affect ATP, VPN and USG FLEX series firewalls. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote, unauthenticated attacker for arbitrary code execution as the “nobody” user. The company has already released a fix. Details in the article. Also from SecurityWeek.com:A total of 17 vulnerabilities have been found in the InHand Networks wireless industrial routers which could be exploited to gain root access. The weaknesses affect IR302 version 3.5.37 and prior. If that is you, make sure to update to version 3.5.45. Get your patch on kids. And last today, from TheRecord.media:Top Aces, a Canadian company that supplies fighter jets for airborne training exercises has been hit with a ransomware attack. The company works extensively with the armed forces of Canada, Germany, United States, Israel and others. The LockBit ransomware group gave Top Aces a deadline of May 15 before it leaks the 44GB of data it allegedly stole. That's all for me today. Remember to LIKE and SUBSCRIBE. And as always, until next time, be safe out there.

Developers everywhere have embraced document databases. But in many cases, it's for the wrong reasons. Take the current hype around going schemaless — it's almost too easy to store arbitrary JSON or XML in a document database. But if you expect to filter, modify and retrieve it efficiently, you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. On today's episode, we're talking with John Page, Distinguished Engineer at MongoDB about the concepts and myths surrounding the schemaless nature of document databases and MongoDB. In March, you can see the tiny, wedge-shaped larvae of barnacles catching early spring plankton. They scull about with their six legs, not yet ready to settle and grow into the barnacles we know. Most Bay lovers have at least one good barnacle story. Invariably these tales involved hands cut by sharp shells, or speed- and fuel-robbing crust on boat bottoms. But these crustaceans do more than create havoc for humans. They create little ecosystems on dock and pier pilings and fallen trees. In this episode, John Page opens up the world of yet another small Bay creature that has a story that surpasses its tiny size. The Chesapeake has a healthy population of otters. In fact, every river system has at least one family. Otters are perhaps the wildest, most elusive mammals on the Chesapeake. They certainly see more of us than we do of them. However, if you are lucky enough to spot one, watching an otter play on the ice if February is sure to be one of the highlights of your year! In this episode, John Page introduces us to these playful Chesapeake residents and dives into what makes these semi-aquatic mammals so otterly unique. https://www.cbf.org/news-media/multimedia/podcasts/chesapeake-almanac/podcast-february-otters-transcript.html (TRANSCRIPT) Subscribe to Chesapeake Almanac, find us on your favorite podcast platform, or visit our podcast page at https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac (https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac). When you think of the Holidays, I'll bet the first thing you think of is the MongoDB Atlas Data API... right? Ok, maybe not the first thing for you, but it was one of the first things my colleague John Page thought of. He's put together a very cool holiday project that exposes a string of lights via the MongoDB Atlas Data API and it enables you to interact and change the lights on his tree. To get more information about this amazing project, read his recent article on the MongoDB Developer Blog here at https://www.mongodb.com/developer/article/christmas_2021_mongodb_data_api/. You can link directly to the tree project here. Thanks to John for building this great, inspirational project and thanks to all of you for listening throughout the year.
Fossils put Bay time into perspective. Features of today's region were already recognizable when the Atlantic Ocean flooded the mouth of the Susquehanna River system 15,000 years ago. When the cold fronts push into the Chesapeake region, you can expect to see (and hear) large flocks of tundra swans sweeping in after them. These are creatures of habit, or some may say tradition, flying more than 1,000 miles to the same wintering grounds each year. In this episode, John Page shares some of the reasons these birds select the Chesapeake, as well as what changing conditions in the Bay may mean for their future. https://www.cbf.org/news-media/multimedia/podcasts/chesapeake-almanac/december-swan-time.html (TRANSCRIPT) Subscribe to Chesapeake Almanac, find us on your favorite podcast platform, or visit our podcast page at https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac (https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac). We all know the iconic Chesapeake oyster. But studying less well known members of the Bay community is often a good window into understanding it better. Softshell clams, hard clams, brackish-water clams, hooked mussels, ribbed mussels, and the stout razor clam each have their own niche and specialty--and guidance for eating. In this episode, John Page shares the stories of the "other" Chesapeake mollusks--including one that can dig faster than you can! https://www.cbf.org/news-media/multimedia/podcasts/chesapeake-almanac/podcast-december-the-other-mollusks-transcript.html (TRANSCRIPT) Subscribe to Chesapeake Almanac, find us on your favorite podcast platform, or visit our podcast page at https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac (https://www.cbf.org/ChesapeakeAlmanac). The MongoDB Data API lets you read and modify data in MongoDB Atlas over HTTP. You don't need any additional MongoDB drivers, libraries, or connection strings; just a standard HTTP client and a valid API key. The Data API's endpoints expose actions that are similar to the standard query methods available in MongoDB drivers. You can call them to create, read, update, delete, or aggregate documents in your cluster. Sumedha Mehta is the Product Manager responsible for the Data API and she joins Michael for a brief introduction to the product, how it works as well as its benefits. In this episode of Chesapeake Almanac, John Page Williams introduces us to a group of microscopic plants that live in the Bay thrive over the fall and winter. Diatoms--microscopic algae--are stunningly abundant this time of year. In Edwardian England, those interested in natural history made a hobby of collecting diatoms, looking at them under a microscope and marveling at their complex shapes, which have been referred to as "intricately carved glass jewel boxes." But those intricate designs are more than stunning to look at. They play an important role in the organism's survival.
