Created By: Yariv WolokMusic By: Jay LubesWebsite: https://www.flyersnittygritty.comRecent news has come to light that the Philadelphia Flyers have moved one of their three assistant coaches at the NHL level down the AHL. Ian Laperriere will head up his first coaching job, leading the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the 2021-2022 AHL season. Without any other coaching changes announced, Laperriere will find himself looking for additional staff, with early names like former Flyers' defenseman Nick Shultz at the top of the list. Meanwhile at the NHL level, Alain Vigneault could also be looking to replace the long time Flyer as the team typically has carried three assistant coaches in the past. Meanwhile as the NHL playoffs rage on, Flyers' fans continuously compare their team's roster to others who have show success in the COVID shortened season. One main focus of this episode is Phil Myers, a player who seemingly has been thrown aside as a viable choice for a Top 4 defensive role option for the next NHL season. However, Kevin and I both discuss Phil's performance this past season and how he wasn't given a fair shake for his actual statistical output. And while, yes Phil, like others struggled, he seems to get a harsher rap than necessary. Throughout the NHL season Phil Myers found himself in and out of the lineup due to injury and how that caused more of his bad play than his overall skill level. On this episode of Gettin Gritty Wit It, I welcome back local hockey player and friend of the show Kevin Fortier. Join the pair as they discuss Pacific Rim (never fear; Barry hasn't seen it so no spoilers here), Image comics 5 Ghosts and Ghosted, the Deadpool video game, the potential DC movies (bear in mind this was recorded before the SDCC announcements) and much, much more! So grab a nice summery cocktail (Bahama Mamas never go amiss), find a nice bit of shade and enjoy Episode 18 of The Parlour! Episode Theme - 'Get Loki' by The Avengers End Theme - 'You've Got The Look' by The Lonely Island feat. Hugh Jackman and Kristen Wiig Apologies all; it seems my technical prowess died a death yet again this episode, and so it sounds somewhat like I spent most of this episode underwater. I can only assume that I set up the fancy new mic wrong and somehow ended up recording with the in-built mic in Lappy. *sigh* I am so useless. Profound apologies to all; bear with me, eventually I'll get it!!

Bonjour mes amis! Bienvenue sur l'episode 12! Joining Stacey in the Parlour this month and stealing all the Battenburg cake is Stephen Lacey! Stephen is no stranger to the Land of Podcasting, hosting not one but two shows; The Fantasticast and 20 Minute Longbox. As you may have guessed from all the French, this episode features quite a long review of Les Miserables (sorry for the lack of accents; no idea how to do this on Lappy!) Also featured are ramblings on all the latest happenings in the world of Spider-Man (expect spoilers for basically every Spider-Man comic that has been out recently), plenty Marvel Now titles, The Big Bang Theory, Dredd, Searching fo Sugar Man and much much more! So sit back, relax, nab some Battenburg before Stephen scoffs the lot, and enjoy this latest installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! P.S. I would like to apologise profusely for referring to the movie Dredd as Judge Dredd the entire time I reviewed it. Worra plonker, eh??
