Greg Abbott (R-TX) has continued to place “razor wire” along the border—arguing that the Supreme Court may have authorized the federal government to remove the wiring, but he remains legally permitted to use the wire when he deems it necessary. In response to Abbott's actions, several Democrat congressmembers have publicly called on the Biden Administration to “federalize” the Texas National Guard, ultimately preventing Abbott from securing his state's border. 3:10pm- During a Friday afternoon press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked if the American people should be “prepared for the situation on the border to get worse.” In response, she said she was unable to predict the future. 3:20pm- While appearing on Fox News with Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer, Governor Greg Abbott defended his placement of concertina wire along the U.S. Southern border, exclaiming: “Texas has a right, as a state, to stop criminals from coming into our state.” 3:30pm- White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre accused Texas Governor Greg Abbott's policies of “making it harder for Border Patrol to do their jobs.” 3:40pm- During a recent MSNBC broadcast, Joy Reid ridiculously compared enforcing the U.S. Southern border to prevent mass-unlawful immigration to segregation. While these proclamations play well with the radical left, are they going to win over any moderate Democrats or independents in an election year? Consequently, could the Biden Administration's policies to appease progressives destroy President Biden's reelection chances?   3:50pm- During a press conference earlier this week, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on the federal government to ban Zyn nicotine pouches and energy drinks. Transgender swimmer Lea Thomas wins yet another swim tournament, provoking anger and confusion from female athletes and their families. But as sanity begins to become more of a minority amongst the thinking of the left, one has to wonder where are all the voices from the women who are effectively being erased? Where is the outcry and protesting? The reality is that the damage the transgender movement is doing to women is something that can only be overcome by actual women. Women who need to speak out and defend themselves, defend other girls from a radical ideology that says real women don't even have the right to exist. Of course the only way to do that is stand in defense of reality, stand in defense of the truth, even if speaking that truth comes with a cost. We sat down with Lea Thomas for this interview. She is fresh off the release of her album "Mirrors to the Sun," which came out on July 23. Lea spent some time in Vermont while recording this album. She transformed a house into a studio. It allowed her to get in touch with nature and sometimes go for a walk through the woods to clear her head. Nature was a big theme throughout this album. Also, the listeners see Lea's love for wolves appear in this release. The song Hummingbird is about a dream she had where she transformed into a wolf -- the full story is incredible and it opens the door to a full discussion about dreams. We also chatted about how Lea's musical journey first began on piano, how she is a visual artist who focuses on hand weaving and natural dyes, and her time spent learning about herbal medicine. We had the pleasure of interviewing Lea Thomas over Zoom video! Thomas creates worlds with her words, blending personal narrative with universal observations of both the mundane and spiritual, often in the same breath. Guiding her band between energies of introspection and exploration, focused calm and propulsive rhythms.Thomas's second full length solo record is a dynamic reflection on themes of transformation, belonging, and self-discovery. Thomas's naturalist perspective permeates many of the narratives on Mirrors To The Sun. While writing the songs that became Mirrors To The Sun, Lea Thomas was also reflecting on the mile-marker of living in New York City for over a decade. About LeaBorn in Hawaii and based in Brooklyn, Lea Thomas started her musical journey early with piano, later moving to guitar as her main accompanying instrument. Recording her own music as a teenager led to her eventual move to New York City at 17 where she found her footing studying audio engineering, working in music studios and performing in local venues.Her first record, Want For Nothing, was released in 2017, followed by her Part of This Place EP and an ambient/folk/field recording collaboration with John Thayer called Blue of Distance, released in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Now, in 2021, the multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer brings audiences into her world of wonder with Mirrors to the Sun, out now on Spirit House Records.In addition to her work as a musician, Thomas is also a visual artist with a focus on hand weaving and natural dyes.
