The conversation explores statistics on earnings in marriages, the impact of education on black women, the role of blue-collar workers, family dynamics, and the challenges faced by African-American women in dating. The discussion also delves into the male ego, the concept of provision beyond financial contributions, and community perspectives on gender roles and earnings. Takeaways The landscape of marriage and earnings has shifted significantly over the years. Women are increasingly becoming the primary earners in households. Education plays a crucial role in the earning potential of black women. Blue-collar workers can also earn substantial incomes, challenging stereotypes. Family dynamics greatly influence a man's earning potential and behavior. African-American women face unique challenges in dating due to economic disparities. The male ego can be affected when women earn more, impacting relationships. Provision in a relationship encompasses more than just financial support. Time and emotional support are critical components of provision. Community perceptions can influence individual relationships and choices. Fundamentally, creativity is at the core of becoming and being human. I do find it fascinating that the oldest religious figurines, the Venus', are all representations of the feminine divine, a truth that offends the patriarchy as evidenced by the male god religions that downplay the female contributions with some going so far as to label women unclean and inferior and objects to be subjugated to male desires. The Abrahamic cults took this one further when they classified mother nature as persona non grata, the haven of devils and evil minions... --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/david-olson6/support
The 'Male Ego' is often referred to as 'Toxic Masculinity'...but is it all toxic, and is the behaviour associated with it exclusively male?
The male ego is fragile for most men. So fragile that they're willing to go to the extreme when they're told “NO”.
This week on the podcast: • Meredith & Tess bask in the afterglow of a job well done after having multiple Boredwalk videos go viral on social media last week! • Thankfully, illogical trolls are always on standby to keep content creators from getting big heads! Just as the internet giveth views, it also giveth unhinged ramblings from people with more WiFi access than good sense. • On the customer review front, Kat has some very nice things to say about the Grievance Journal she recently purchased for her husband. Making hopes & dreams come true? Just another day at the office! • Fans respond to the recent Question of the Day "if you had intro music what would it be?" and Tess & Meredith share their own answers! This QOTD does double duty as a springboard to a rad playlist. • They then wrap up the episode trading answers to the questions "what's the biggest favor someone has done for you?", "what have you changed your mind about?", and "what aspect of being an adult is under-appreciated?" from the new Delve Deck beach balls! If you think the Delve Deck questions and the conversations they sparked sound fun, head over to Boredwalk.com and pick up sets of either the cards or beach balls for yourself! Skip discusses how the male ego can be fragile when it comes to rejection. He discusses how when that ego is broken, men will excuse poor behavior because they didn't get what they want from the woman/women. Skip shifts into how his lack of vulnerability shows up in relationships (romantic/platonic/familial). An honest episode where he is currently and where he wants to be. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skipchronicles/support

Men are born with ego. But, according to Gareth Nock, a fitness expert and coach, podcast host, and Founder of The Nock Academy, dads can do the necessary work needed to strip off their egos so that they can become a positive force in their children's lives. While that may sound a little close to impossible, Gareth is a breathing example of a man who can let go of his ego and still be masculine in the eyes of his kids and of the community. On top of that, he's living his true passion and purpose while adding value to the world through the community he's built through The Nock Academy. In this episode, you will learn how you, too, can become a dad with no ego and still lift your family higher through strong leadership. "From my brief experience as a dad of a daughter, they need you there, and they need you there with no ego, with no limitations and restrictions that have been part of us growing up as men.” - Gareth Nock In This Episode:Gareth shares how to teach 9-12-year-old boys about body imageWhy it's concerning when kids see their dads look at exercise as a means of losing weight and building musclesLearn how to let go of your ego in a healthy wayDiscover how dads can be fully involved in their daughters' lives in a "masculine" way, yet stripped of any egoThe biggest sacrifice dads can make for their kids which, ironically, turns out to be their biggest win tooAligning your life decisions with your valuesGareth shares a sneak peek of the common questions men and dads throw at him and what you can learn from these questionsHow motivation can come from an all-or-nothing mindsetResources Mentioned:All or Nothing MindsetConnect with Gareth Nock: Website InstagramFacebookTikTokYouTube Twitter PodcastConnect with Cam Hall:FacebookInstagramTwitterLinkedInYouTubeEmail - cam@dmdpodcast.com

I've noticed in my life an inability to properly process rejection and realized how I was also not alone in this. That there were a lot of men around me and even men I looked up to that didn't also know how to navigate the feeling of being rejected. So in this episode, I explore how this failure to cope and process rejection influences the behaviors and patterns of many, and even determines what personality they choose to embody. The male ego is driven by recognition, attention and action. Men are assumed to be more active beings who do important things(such as political leaders, soldiers, scientist, etc. and who more deserving of attention by others? The ego refers to one's belief in one's own value, and someone with a "fragile ego" lacks self worth and confidence. A person with a fragile ego is readily swayed by others perceptions. Is the male ego why women fake orgasms? Does it help or hurt. Recently two interviews on The Breakfast Club give examples of the male ego. First video is Tamara Hall gets left in the ocean unprotected. Second DJ Envy's and his Wife Gia Casey talks about faking orgasms. Does this act protect or hurt the male ego. A frail ego in ANY type of relationship makes it hard to be the most authentic version of yourself. We point out a few things to look out for and also share some stories about some of our experiences.
Today I am sharing a very important conversation. I recently spoke with Joey Dumont, a self-professed 'recovering egoist' who took a year off to write a book about his life, his loss & 'recovery' that turned into three and has now sent him down a new path of (comedic) enlightenment with a heart for helping others. Joey lost his younger brother to suicide in April 2007 and spent the next year basically hiding, or perhaps running, from the grief, the PTSD and more. Sibling loss is complicated and as we know, loss by suicide even more so. It truly was a joy to talk with him. I hope you will take something from it as well! ALL THINGS Joey Dumont can be found here... his book ("Joey Somebody"), his podcast ("Laugh Your Cry Out") and his coaching! I encourage you to check him out! I cannot wait to listen to his podcast and read his book. Again HERE is the LINK go check him out! As with everything you hear on my podcasts, please take that which serves you & leave the rest. I hope you will find something of value & I am so sorry that you need to be here, but so honored you are here. Please reach out to me if you know of someone that I should talk to or if you yourself would like to have a conversation around the suicide loss and grief space. Instagram is probably still the best way to contact me or directly through email. I am already scheduling people into this Spring so it's not too soon to reach out!
