JMN is live on the UNF campus for Market Days, kicking off our Spring college campus tour! University President Dr. Moez Limayem joins JMN and shares details about UNF's recognition as a premiere business partner in the Jacksonville community, including the Coggin College of Business MBA program, and their dynamic academic and STEM programs.

Dr. Limayem discusses the relationship between UNF and the local community, UNF Giving Day on April 1, and how donations directly fund academic and research programs at the University.

Graduate student Carleigh Eagle works as an engineer at Mayo Clinic, and is pioneering 3D imaging and modeling technology for use in healthcare and medical/surgical processes. As a sample of this technology, she has a 3D printed model of her own brain to use in demonstrations. In cooperation with Mayo, this and a variety of chemistry, biology, and engineering programs provide innovations in surgical processes and medical therapies. Carleigh is an example of the student, program, and institutional intersections between UNF and the local (and global!) community.

In addition to world class academic, business, and technology programs, UNF is also home to world class athletes. UNF senior Smilla Kolbe shares her experiences as a student athlete, and is the first Osprey to qualify for and compete in the 2025 NCAA Track and Field Championships, against the best runners in the country. Additionally she was the 2024 Atlantic Sun Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, working on an academic program in psychology and criminal justice.

Abraham Ovalle is a FinTech major at UNF, and joins JMN to discuss this program, and how he plans to make a career in the field. FinTech (Financial Technology) is a STEM science integrating math and business. He's well on his way, having served 4 career related internships and already having a FT job in accounting. HIs experiences exemplify how UNF students apply their academic achievements to SWOOP into future success!

Dept. of Biology Chair Dr. Jim Gelsleichter, and Associate Professor Dr. Quincy Gibson, share details about the Coastal Marine Biology programs at UNF. Dr. Gibson leads a dolphin research program studying the behaviors of dolphins present in the St. Johns River. Dr. Gelsleichter details how this research and other programs apply to the world abroad, through cooperations with programs like Ocearch, coastal resilience, and more. This research pushes boundaries of biooogical and ecological sciences, and the impacts originate from the local Jacksonville community.

Scott Curry, Senior Director of Career Services and Industry Engagement, and Dr. Erin Richman, the AVP of Academic & Student Affairs, discuss how these events provide an opportunity for the student and local business communities to interact and facilitate "experiential" learning.

Dr. Mei Zhao, Interim Dean for the Brooks College of Health, discusses how the University has grown, and how the heath care programs offered have evolved as part of UNF's strategic plan in cooperation with partners like Mayo Clinic, Baptist Health, and HCA Florida Memorial Hospital.

Hoo boy! It's another stream of consciousness. I've warned them about letting me alone in the studio... Riding solo again today I brought up various productions that are happening this summer at the Winnipesaukeeplayhouse, the NL Barn Playhouse, the M&D Playhouse in Conway, the Powerhouse Theatre and the Pittsfield Players. I gave a quick recap of the Powerhouse Theatre Collaborative Play Festival held at Prescott Farm this past weekend. I give a quick look at some upcoming interviews and finally, I talk about the Market Days coming up in Concord June 20-22.
