Dennis is joined via Zoom by two of his friends from the Xana-crew; Eric Seppala and Ruston Harker who have something unique in common. They both created passion projects during the pandemic involving Barbies and Instagram, which continue to today. Ruston's account is @dolldecree and it features short animated vignettes involving Barbie and her friends, saying pithy things and looking fabulous. Eric's account is @olivianewtonjohnisadoll and it's exactly what it sounds like. Using Barbie dolls, Eric has painstakingly recreated looks from Olivia's career; from her breakout days in the 1970's to Xanadu to the Physical era to her more recent memoir launch. Both men talk about what inspired them to start the accounts, their different creative processes--Ruston uses AI, Eric is totally old school--their most popular posts, and what having this side project has brought to their lives. Other topics include: the shame attached to wanting to play with Barbies as a boy, the Christmas gifts they'll remember forever, the joy of connecting with other Xana-fans, and constantly wondering if you're crazy for putting so much time, money and passion into these doll projects. The episode ends with a special musical moment; a bangin' cover of Kelly Clarkson's "Under the Mistletoe" performed by Dennis's past guests Matt Zarley and Kathy Deitch. Happy Holidays, everyone!
My guest today is Broadway veteran and award-winning recording artist Matt Zarley, who released his spectacular musical web series "11 O'Clock Number." The series features a dozen tunes by Broadway composers, all originally sung by women. Over 12 episodes, Zarley weaves those songs in between video testimonials as he copes with isolation during the pandemic lockdown. Each song - spectacularly imagined as a dream concert performance – becomes its own personal catharsis for our hero, Zack (played by Zarley). The result is, at times, touching, humorous, and relatable. Zarley – who can croon a quiet heartbreak or throw down rich, full-throated showstoppers with equal ease – is in peak vocal form. I really enjoyed the full series because…who doesn't love some great music theater songs? You can find all 12 episodes of "11 O'Clock Number" on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLGx5wJAFYYwU3qw6tMdn-6X-YD80sx5Km

WE BELONG ( Feat Matt Zarley ) by Bill Bennett
DJ Bill Bennett EXODUS I am very proud of this album that contains new mixes of my previous singles and new tracks I never released. Many of us have had a very difficult time since the quarantine. I have made a decision to not release my new album for sale. I really do not want the anxiety of getting daily notifications on this album sales stats, commissions etc. My haters will have a field day with this one. But I know now what haters stands for... Have Anger Towards Everyone Reaching Success I have done 2 giant tours, several billboard club hits... I have been there and have the T-Shirt. I am now 55, I have no desire to be on magazine covers or in the gay rags. I just want my art out there. The world, the universe is energy. And we get back what we put into it. This is my gift to you. I hope it helps eliminate the darkness that has been around us these past few years. I hope it brings you joy. I hope it makes you smile. I hope it makes you move. I hope it makes your 2024. I do ask two favors of you. First, on your first listen please use headphones and listen to the entire album from start to finish to fully experience my art. Secondly, share this link with your friends. If this makes someones day, week or year... I have done my job. Namaste. Dennis visits the L.A. home of his friend Matt Zarley for Listening Party of the songs from Matt's newest project 11 O'Clock Number, a musical video project about a man who harnesses the power of musical theater songs to help him cope with lost love, losing his mother and the stresses of the pandemic. Matt talks about where the idea originated from, how working on the project helped keep him sane during the COVID lockdown and how he approached the vocals as if he was, in his words, “never going to sing again.” Matt also discusses why he chose each of the 12 tracks: “Never Enough” from The Greatest Showman, “Still Hurting” from The Last Five Years, “With You” from Ghost, “I'm Not That Girl” from Wicked, “I'd Give My Life For You” and “I Still Believe” from Miss Saigon, “Take Me Or Leave Me” from Rent, “He Used To Be Mine” from Waitress, “The Human Heart” from Once On This Island, “Anything But Lonely” from Aspects of Love, “I'm Here” from The Color Purple and “What I Did For Love” from A Chorus Line. Other topics include: Broadway curtain calls, stage door memories, baring almost all in Broadway Bares, the show that got away, his decades long friendship with Billy Porter and why he loves to sing. www.mattzarley.com
It's time for the men to take centre stage on the dance floor and in this special edition of Men for World Pride in Sydney, that's exactly what they do. Keeping with the Pride Men theme, I've selected tracks from male artists who identify as gay, bisexual or non binary. The set kicks of with the incomparable George Michael and his mega hit song "I Want Your Sex" given a modern spin by Huffnpoof. Division 4 creates a fantastic cover of "You Don't Treat Me No Good" and Sam Smith's new track "I'm Not Here To Make Friends" is a club anthem. Darren Hayes features twice in this set, first up with his Savage Garden collaboration "I Want You" and later with "Step Into The Light". Dirty Disco features two excellent mixes for Erasure and Years & Years respectively. Magnus Carlsson released a song for Stockholm Pride with a great remix by SoundFactory and Ross Alexander covers "I Love My Radio" released in the 80's. One of my favourite male artists is Matt Zarley and his uplifting song "Somebody 4 Everybody" is brilliantly remixed by Moto Blanco. Chris Willis' hit "One Life" features here (I do love me some Chris Willis) and Tommer Mizrahi delivers two top mixes for Jason Walker and Kevin Aviance. The set closes out with the exquisite 7th Heaven remix of "Feel The Music" by Sean Ensign and an updated version of Sylvester's classic disco track "Mighty Real" mixed by Jet Boot Jack. Feel the music and feel the Men in this special World pride edition of Pride Men. EnjoyAnthony1/ "I WANT YOUR SEX" (Huffnpoof Remix) - GEORGE MICHAEL2/ "YOU DON'T TREAT ME NO GOOD" (Original Club Mix) - DIVISION 4 ft. Continuing the all male vocal sets comes Men 15. The past editions of Men have related to Mardi Gras Men which have been a mixture of gay and straight male vocalists. For this first edition of Pride Men, I wanted to feature only male artists who identify as gay or non binary. I wanted this set to be Pride personified for gay men but still be accessible to all lovers of great male club anthems. Artists such as Matt Zarley, Jason Walker, Tony Moran, Brian Justin Crum and Steve Grand from the USA mix it up with Sam Smith, Will Young, Peyton, Calum Scott and D:Ream from the UK. Australia's Troye Sivan and Bulgaria's Kristian Kostov round out the artists featured here. Remixes come from 7th Heaven, Dave Aude`, Barry Harris, Russ Rich & LFB, Toy Armada & DJ GRIND, The Alias and Dirty Disco. Throw in some high energy mixes from Sagi Kariv and Tommer Mizrahi and Pride Men is set to ignite the dance floor. Enjoy Anthony 1/ "CHANGE BEGINS WITH ME" (7th Heaven Club Mix) - MATT ZARLEY 2/ "MY MY MY!" (Barry Harris Club Mix) - TROYE SIVAN 3/ "WE ARE THE NIGHT" (Dave Aude` Club Mix) - STEVE GRAND 4/ "TO DIE FOR" (Tommer Mizrahi Remix) - SAM SMITH 5/ "BEAUTIFUL MESS" (Sagi Kariv Remix) - KRISTIAN KOSTOV 6/ "LET YOUR SOUL BE YOUR PILOT" (Russ Rich & LFB Gospel Anthem Club Mix) - PEYTON 7/ "JEALOUSY" (The Alias Club Mix) - WILL YOUNG 8/ "CRAZY" (Toy Armada Remix) - BRIAN JUSTIN CRUM & GSP 9/ "THE PROMISE" (Toy Armada & DJ GRIND Pride Anthem Remix) - TONY MORAN 10/ "DANCING ON MY OWN" (Danny Verde Club Mix) - CALUM SCOTT 11/ "SAY YES" (Dirty Disco Club Remix) - TONY MORAN ft. As a young actor, my first big break was being cast as the 'Magical Mr. Mistoffelees' in a brand new national touring company of the blockbuster Broadway musical CATS. While I was 'living the dream' during those years in the 1980s, a nightmare called HIV/AIDS was taking thousands of lives from us. As a company, we wanted to do 'something,' so in 1987, we organized one of the first large-scale benefits performances by a touring company to help those affected by HIV. Amazingly, we raised over $36K in one night. Fast forward to today, and another viral pandemic is here. A few months ago, one of my former CATS castmates reached out to say, "Anyone want to do it again?" And so, we did. "With Love, Now and Forever! Cats4CovidRelief" premiered on October 23 and has so far raised over $21,000 to help those in the theater community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The video event is currently available on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/TKmFNBpsj2o Today, I'm talking to two of my closest CATS castmates, Grammy Award-winner Leslie Ellis and two-time OutMusic Award-winner Matt Zarley, about this recent company reunion, collaborating on this special, uplifting video event, and reminiscing about the experience that was CATS. You can see Matt's moving video tribute featuring Leslie's gorgeous new take on "Memory" here: https://vimeo.com/463622446/aa0b820ad5

OUT OF THE DJRB VAULT: This is a blast from the past! I had the distinct honor to play the closing party of the Original World-Famous Pavilion on in the Pine on Fire Island at the end of the 2010 season. That winter our original sacred space burnt to the ground. :( For many of us that original Pavilion was a home and was our church. Music included: Firework by Katy Perry, Release Me by Agnes, While You See a Chance by Matt Zarley ft Ellis Porter-Smith (aka Billy), Hang With Me by Robyn, I Stay In Love With You by Mariah Carey, All The Lovers by Kylie Minogue and I'll Find A Way by the amazing gay singer/songwriter Brian Kent, along with a few other gems. | I hope you enjoy this, and for those who also happen to be there on that night I hope this brings back some sweet sweet memories of our beloved PAVILION. Nathan also talks about his work in the theater; appearing on Broadway in The Wild Party and Priscilla: Queen of the Desert and Off-Broadway in shows like The View Upstairs and Hit the Wall. From Dennis: For this special episode, I'm skipping my usual interview format and presenting and audio performance of my recently completed pilot script of "Misadventures in the 213," based on my novel of the same name. The script recently landed me a spot in the WGA West's Writers Access Program, which showcases writers from diverse backgrounds--I ticked the gay box--and touts their work to showrunners, producers, executives, agents and managers in an attempt to make TV writing rooms for diverse. I'm so excited and proud to be this program. 171 scripts were submitted. 11 writers made the final cut and of those, only two were comedy writers...and I'm one of them! Thanks to my wonderful and generous actor friends who lend their time and talent to the reading: Alex Wyse (Craig), Britt Logan (Dandy), Felix Pire (Miles), Jen Caldwell (Claudia), Danny Casillas (Ulysses), Maile Flanagan (Rhonda) and Matt Zarley (Nicky). Extra special thanks to Matt Zarley his recording and editing services. Hope you enjoy. To learn more about the Writers Access Project, visit http://www.wga.org/content/default.aspx?id=3436

Starting with this week's fresh new episode...we're even FRESHER! Instead of taping the show early in the week and waiting until Thursday to release it, we're dropping our new episode just as soon as it comes out of the oven. Fresher content. Quicker release. Dirtier and funnier than ever! This week, Dale & Scott welcome back to the studio Chris Doucette and Zach Toczynski, the two funniest guys they know. As guest hosts (filling in for the still-vacationing Steven J. Walker), Chris & Zach will keep you in stitches with their quick wit and dirty minds. Gotta love that! The guys are the masterminds behind DC's monthly Gaylarious comedy showcase at the Riot Act theater, dontcha know. If you find yourself in your nation's capital on the first Wednesday of each month (save for July & August), you've gotta check out one of the funniest shows around. Also up this week, singer and Broadway vet Matt Zarley returns to the show to talk about his new music video contest and we have his latest single, Trust Me for ya. Matt is so nice and so cute...a cuddly and fun pop singer who works hard for our community, too. The boys also talk about gays in straight strip clubs; Pride celebrations in DC and elsewhere; bath salts and zombies; the Oscars of the fragrance world; Gay Days' dueling airplane banners; actor Luke Macfarlane's penis; Mayor Bloomberg's increasingly imposing nanny state; the Black Spark returns (maybe); JCPenney fights back with gay dads; and, much more gay hilarity. (It ain't PC, people.) Today's show is brought to you in part by Caribbean Heat, a week-long, world-class, all-male gay dance party event held August 31 – September 7, 2012 at the Adonis Gay Beach Resort in Tulum, Riviera Maya in Mexico. Be a part of all the fun. Click the link above for more information and to register for a free 7-night trip! Also, if you'll be at Washington, DC's Capital Pride Festival this Sunday, June 10, stop by the Caribbean Heat booth and check out their scantily clad male models.
Most of us have a crush now and when we were growing up. Who was your first Heart Throb? Ever walked past someone and your heart sped up, fluttered or perhaps your “panties” melted right off when you saw that hard body approaching you. Tonight we will have several callers: fitness models, pop singers, one of the cast members from Showtime’s Gigolo’s, and who knows what other surprises Randy and I have in store for you. Join us! Candi and Randy talk hard bodies and heart throbs.
Join Randy and I this week as we feature Matt Zarley and his new release "Trust Me." We will be playing one of his new club remixes. Randy and I will also be discussing new music, dvd, book and movies releases. And - we are having a GIVE AWAY. We will be giving away an iTunes card to the 7th caller.. listen for Randy and I to announce its time to call during the show! We will also be giving away a free e-book to one of the other callers. A random number will be chosen during the show! Don't miss out! Call in is 818/495-6931
Recorded in the brand new Swish Edition studios (the "secret underground studio" no more...the boys are finally outside of Scott's basement, it can now be revealed), this episode features the return of out pop singer MATT ZARLEY to the program. He brings to us his hot new single, "Perfect," as well as a remix of his fun "What The Fuck" track. He tells us about his new record label, his L.A. listening party hosted by Instinct Magazine on November 8, and what's been happening in his life since we last chatted in early June. We love Matt and we think you'll dig his catchy tunes and his love for giving back. Also on this episode, Dale, Scott & Steve break down their weekend, which included the soggy and bone chilling AIDS Walk Washington event, a rather eventful Halloween party, and a trip to Red Lobster. They discuss Kim Kardashian's slap-in-the-face-to-all-gay-people 72 day marriage, doctors' recommending that kids as young as 16 start getting HIV tests, the world welcomes the 7 billionth person (that's a lot of gays!), the scariest movies of all time, old gays have no where to live, and much more. Episode 158 is called, "Underground No More," because it's true. Listen with a friend...naked, of course.

Bigger is better, right? Well, we think so, which is why this week's show is the longest and juiciest ever! We are thrilled to bring you our fun chat with the one and only "Wonder Woman" herself, Lynda Carter. She talks about her new album Crazy Little Things, as well as her love of rowing on the Potomac River, why she is holding on tight to the original costume (yes, THAT costume), why she loves the gays, what she sang to Kermit the Frog, and much more. A delightful, absolutely stunning lady. And we have her! Stay tuned to the end of the chat to hear a track off the new album. (Lynda starts at the 43:40 mark.) Also on the mega-episode, we chat with Broadway star / pop singer, Matt Zarley. This was one silly conversation that we all really enjoyed. We play his new single What The Fuck first (see the video below) then get into it ALL including what famous gay brother of an actor that plays a superhero he had a fling with, how he found the bears and otters for his "WTF" video, why he likes pop over Broadway, and much more. You'll dig this guy, he's a trip and a real good sport. (Matt kicks in at the 1:11:00 mark; told you it was a long ass show.) And Scott Jackson from Capital Pride stops by to update us on all things Pride related...including the (not so) surprising news that singer Kelly Rowland backed out of her Street Festival headlining gig due to scheduling conflicts. Whatever! Two years in a row? What's going on? Last year Mya quit at the last minute, too. But, luckily, singer/actress Jennifer Holliday of "Dreamgirls" fame will be coming to DC's rescue and she'll be just great. Also on this packed episode: Steve got his NOH8 campaign picture taken; Dan Choi goes to Russia and brings back a fat lip; Old Navy goes gay (sorta); Circumcision might become illegal in parts of California; HRC jumps the gun and endorses Obama for 2012); We're giving away two tickets to Camp 2011; and, All the gay news from Sean Bugg at Metro Weekly. Here it is, an all new Swish, it's Episode 136, "It's A Wonder."
It's Friday so let the parties begin! At this point, Gay Days should be in full swing and I'm sending up the final mix that should keep things going well into the morning. So let's get to it. For the most part, this mix takes on a little more subdued tone. In fact, you might even consider this a winddown mix; just with enough oomph to carry you through to 5 AM. Kicking things off, Avri and Johanna's "Love Again" is a smart piece where the protagonist declares that she can no longer be with the person she loved for so long. Midnight Society turns in an uncharacteristically low key circuit number that frankly suits the song well. This is followed by TYNY and Jerumus with Josie Vie on "What You Do To Me". I simply love this song. Miss Vie's sexy vocals are upfront and honest on this electro number. Personally, I think this deserves more attention than it's getting at the moment, but it's still relatively new, so we'll see. Many of you may remember Lakisha Jones as a finalist from American Idol's sixth season. Well, her album finally dropped in May with the lead single "Let's Go Celebrate". The original is fresh but not much different from a crowded field of the same at top 40. Nevertheless, it should do well. What really bugs me is that she is an amazingly gifted singer, but for some reason, her producers felt it was necessary to put her voice through that vocoder thingy that is very common with artists that frankly can't sing. In fact, you wouldn't even recognize her if it weren't for the fact that her name accompanies the album. Friscia and Lamboy who have been m.i.a. as of late, return with their own brand of electro-circuit style production that works oh so well for this song. I expect this will not only do extremely well in the clubs but on the charts as well. Following up "Here I Am" Matt Zarley returns with a remake of the Steve Winwood classic "While You See A Chance". With this being one of my all-time favorite songs, I was concerned about it getting some sort of circuit style treatment. Apparently, so were the remixers involved in this project. Why? They toned it down making it more of a tea dance style party mix. Solar City and Mark Picchiotti both did outstanding mixes that will compete for my next T-Dance Edition. So that left me with Twisted Dee who equally did an outstanding job though her version is a little more primetime. The "morning" used in the title suggests wind down, which is why it's on this set. After repeated listens, I really like Matt's vocals and the variety of mixes that accompanied the package. This is a grower and definitely a keeper. Those of you that follow the BPM Editions, may remember the fabulous Sabrina Johnston's take of "Peace in the Valley" with the Soulshakers doing the remix honors. Well, it looks like Michelle Weeks also wanted to give it a stab and instead of taking the funky route, she and Orienta-Rhythm deliver some soul-satisfying hard hitting house. I honestly really like both versions for competing reasons. Trust me on this one. As I had previously mentioned, DJ Paulo is all over the place lately and is turning out some high-quality mixes in the process. "Circles" is an absolute stunner reminiscent of Joey Negro's take on Sessomatto and Thelma Houston's "I Need Somebody". Probably a song I should reintroduce sometime this summer because I love it so much. Anywho, lovin' them "Circles". Another one I've been all over is Andrea Carnell's "Up Your Heart" which apparently came out in late December last year. However, it wasn't until April of this year when Danny Verde released an e.p. of his best mixes that this song started gaining traction and rightfully so. As usual, the vocals are impeccable and the hook will suck you in. Finally, The Perry Twins and Niki Haris release a second set of mixes for their spring monster "Bad Bad Boy". The Edson Pride monster mix is a definite winner for peak time mayhem,
