New recovery radio with hosts Kirsten, Ricky and Adam Today we talk about the crazy recovery guy, our recovery stories and services
Casey Scott had worked hard to become a beloved TV personality, but under that bubbly outgoing surface, he was fighting a war with the demon of addiction. That surface cracked on September 2, 2018, when he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Since that time he has taken steps to confront his addiction, faced his demons in rehab, and is four years sober. Now weekly on the Project Recovery podcast, he shares his personal story of becoming a better person, one day at a time. Along with the expert help of licensed psychologist Dr. Matt Woolley, he interviews others who have faced similar addictions and found hope in the process. Casey joins this episode of Relentlessly Resilient to share his story of addiction, downfall, and most importantly, resilience. Even though we live in challenging times we can become Relentlessly Resilient as we lean on and learn from one another's experiences. Hosts Jennie Taylor and Michelle Scharf are no strangers to overcoming adversity; Michelle lost her husband to cancer, while Jennie's husband Major Brent Taylor was killed in the service of our country. Their stories bond them together and now listeners can join them weekly as they visit with others enduring challenges and who teach us how they are exercising resiliency, finding value in their grief, and purpose in moving forward. Listen to the Relentlessly Resilient Podcast regularly on your favorite platform, at kslpodcasts.com, kslnewsradio.com, or on the KSL App. Join the Resilience conversation on Facebook at @RelentlesslyResilient and Instagram @RelentlesslyResilientPodcast. In a special bonus episode, we replay our very first episode of Project Recovery to introduce old and new listeners to the real story of what happened to Casey Scott. Casey Scott is famous in his home state of Utah. On the surface, he's a guy that seemed to have everything. He's funny, he's on TV, parties with rockstars, and he goes home every night to his home and family. At least we thought he had everything. Behind the scenes, he was facing a struggle. His marriage ended, he had just been arrested for driving while intoxicated, which cost him his job on TV. All of which were displayed very publicly for all of his family, friends, and family to see. Casey was officially at "rock bottom". What happened? "Project Recovery" begins where Casey's old life ends. Casey checked himself into rehab and is in the process of recovery. Here with Matt Woolley Ph.D, Casey shares his past and introduces us to some of the people he's met along the way back to a normal life. This podcast will help us all deal with our own issues, behaviors, and addictions, and help us all live life on life's terms. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this week's episode, Casey Scott and Dr. Matt Woolley talk about Preslee's letter going viral, why the Project Recovery community is the heartbeat of the show, and why the show's success is a win for recovery.
