Surprise, we have a special episode discussing quite possibly one of my favorite watches of all time. Look, if you're new here, I'm a SeikoBoi, a Seiko Fan (and btw you can be too!) I have been collecting and obsessing over Seikos forever. It's how I got into watches – and the golden goose, the holy grail; whatever expression you want is the Seiko 62MAS or what many people know as the classic Seiko diver. Seiko recently launched a new version of the 62mas which is almost an identical re-issue of the classic 6217, the SJE093.Naturally, I enlisted the help of Rob Caplan and Zachary Piña from Topper to help me understand this watch, unpack its origins, and learn more about why this little dive watch has every collector going nuts.**Learn more hereListen to Burlingame & Park chat the 62MAS Reissue with Erik Strickland

We're back this week with our monthly Q&A podcast episode. Kat Shoulders, Zach Weiss, and Zach Kazan are all on the mic fielding questions from our Instagram followers and Worn & Wound+ Slack community. Topics this month are as varied as usual, and touch on hypothetical titanium Seikos, limitations of mass produced movements, our longest honeymoon period with a watch, and a lot more. We love to do these Q&A episodes, so if you want to get a question in for the next one, be sure to join our Worn & Wound+ Slack group and keep an eye out for our monthly call for questions.Special thanks to Sherpa Watches for sponsoring this week's podcast. Sherpa created their own true compressor case system, including the bayonet compressor case back and the compressor crowns, built in-house. Their unique design, including the double crown and crown guards, are all made from German or Swiss components. The watches feature 200 meter water resistance certified to the ISO 6425 norm. Finally they have what they call their “spiritual complication”,  Tibetan Buddhist prayer wheels in the watch movement that connect to the tradition of the Nepalese Sherpa people. Seiko fremstillede deres første armbåndsur Laurel helt tilbage i 1913, hvilket betyder, at uret i år fylder 110 år.

Are you a fan of scuba diving or luxury watches? Well, Sean Clements certainly is, and a few years ago, he found a way to combine his passions and create a path for the future away from the corporate rat-race. Sean's vision led him to create SDC Watches, a dive watch brand that offers luxurious watches for everyday dive adventures. What sets SDC Watches apart is their commitment to protecting the oceans. Sean recognized that there is a huge amount of neoprene waste, particularly old and used wetsuits, that ultimately end up in landfills. To tackle this issue, Sean decided to repurpose these watery rags and incorporate them into his watches. The result is an encapsulated neoprene strap design that not only looks great but also helps reduce waste and protect our oceans whilst maintaining that luxury feel. The attention to detail in these watches is evident in every aspect. The SDC cookie logo and laser engraving, and original styling of an older dive watch with its rotational dive bezel, harks back to a time when chunky Seikos were the epitome of a diver's watch (flashbacks to eye-balling my dad's watch as a kid). And the naked rear case, which allows you to see the inner mechanism, is a luxurious touch that completes the package. With a 300m depth rating these really are a sexy statement. As a fellow diver, I'm eagerly awaiting my own SDC Watch to arrive. I appreciate the company's commitment to sustainability and conservation efforts, and I'm excited to show my support by wearing one of their watches. It's clear that Sean has put his heart and soul into creating a product that not only looks great but also makes a positive impact on our planet. If you would like your own SDC watch, head on over to the SDC website and use SCUBAGOAT10 to recieve a 10% discountJoin us on this episode as we dive deeper into Sean's journey as a diver, businessman, and conservationist. This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, we have a jam packed episode with Blake, Zach, and Kat discussing a flurry of recent releases, as well as some recent editorials that have generated quite a bit of conversation on social media. First up is a lengthy discussion on the new line of Superocean dive watches from Breitling, which are conveniently being made in just about every size except the ones we really want. Still, they are incredibly cool from a design perspective, and we're looking forward to getting more hands on time with them soon. We also touch on a recent high concept space watch with NASA pedigree, and Kat even explains the blockchain (trust us, this will sort of make sense when you listen to the episode). We wrap up by talking about recent editorials on why it's important to be open to watches of all sizes, and the benefits of keeping a watch hidden away from social media. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this week's episode in the comments below or on Instagram.Today's episode of the Worn & Wound podcast is brought to you by Oris and the all new ProPilot X Calibre 400. Oris watches will be on display and available for purchase at the upcoming Windup Watch Fair in Chicago, July 15th through 17th.To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, we're joined by special guest Kyle Snarr, Co-founder of Cantonment. Kyle's been on the podcast before to chat about his brand and all things EDC, but today he joins us to take part in our semi-regular series where we look at a movie with a focus on time or with some notable watch content and dissect it from a watch enthusiast's perspective. This week: James Cameron's Aliens, his 1986 sequel to Ridley Scott's classic Alien, and the second film in what would become a surprisingly durable franchise. The watch content in Aliens is well known to many, with two classic Seikos designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro making prominent appearances. We talk about those watches in this conversation, as well as the lesser known Seiko Pulsemeter watch that also gets some screen time. And we also imagine what watch we'd choose if we were making an Alien film today, a task that's not as simple as it sounds. We definitely think this podcast can be enjoyed even if you haven't seen Aliens, but be warned that we do discuss some pretty major spoilers, so if for some reason you want to maintain the mystery a little longer on this 35 year old film, the pod should probably wait until after you've had a chance to see it. Once you've listened, be sure to let us know in the comments what your favorite movie in the Alien franchise is, and what watch from the movie you'd choose for yourself. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. In this episode, our most requested topic ever, we invite Mark Almeras from the AverageBros YouTube channel in to talk about modifying Seiko watches. The Seiko is like the LS engine of watches: good bones, reliabile and durable, but not always pretty out of the box, and with some obvious cost cutting in terms of some of the parts, the straps, bezels, etc. Fortunately, Seiko's have a huge aftermarket, not to mention lots of special edition, higher end models from Japan, and a lot of the parts are interchangeable! Whether you choose to modify the watch at home yourself, or take it to a watchmaker, Mark, Cameron and Matt explore some of the different ways you can modify a Seiko to get not only a unique look, but also the feeling on your wrist of a watch that's much more expensive and high quality than what comes out of the box. Subscribe to Average Bros on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCim9rg9D4s2zLdtyeo1W6bgThis episode is available as a video! Kaz gets attacked by bees on air and Mike's dog can't help herself from interrupting the show with her poor dinner habits. This is perhaps one of the most casual TBWS episodes ever, but the guys have a blast discussing a very specific sub-genre of watches. So what's the deal with brightly colored dive watches and the design manufacturers pursue for the sake of legibility under water? Are these models more desirable or functional than others? Why are some brightly colored Seikos so difficult to find? Also, stay tuned for a quick tease of the latest TBWS giveaway. Oh, and Movado bought MVMT? WTF... Welcome to Episode 13 of The Time 4A Pint Podcast - This week we spend a full 90 minutes, talking Seiko watches with Simon, who not only collects these wonderful Japanese time pieces, but repairs them too. He brought along an eclectic collection - Including a selection of stunning quartz chronographs, a 6139 "Pogue" that he brought back from it's watery demise, a quartet of high end vintage Seikos, including a Seikomatic, a King, a Grand, and a King Quartz, and last but not least, an immaculate H558 better known as "The Arnie" (due to it's appearance in Predator, and Commando). Visit www.time4apint.com/podcasts and scroll down to episode 13 to see pictures of all the watches we talked about in this episode.
