This week I discuss the benefits of utilizing micro-workouts and a couple examples of what to do! A micro-workout is a mini-session that lasts for a short period, usually less than 15 minutes. The primary advantage of micro-workouts is that they are quick and require minimal time commitment. These sessions can be executed anywhere and anytime, even during the busiest day.  This level of freedom helps lessen the barriers and excuses that get in the way of exercising. I love that! So what could you do for a micro workout? Here are two options:- One set to failure workout (strength training) - You can try this with the X3 Bar or with traditional weights. Training to failure means pushing your muscles to the point where you can't perform another rep with good form.- HIRT (cardio) - The goal is to practice the exercises with maximal intensity for a short duration of time (5 to 15 seconds). The key is to have a rest interval of at least 45 seconds so you can recover to perform your next set as effectively. (4 to 6 sets) Using a Rogue Echo Bike, Row Machine, Swimming, Sprinting or Kettlebells are all options.Micro-workouts provide an ideal chance to challenge yourself and stay committed to a healthier and happier life. Welcome BACK to Ace Weekly! This week we present a groundbreaking episode featuring Dr. John Jaquish, the scientist behind the revolutionary X3-Bar. Dr. John Jaquish is a renowned scientist, research professor, and inventor who has revolutionized the health and fitness industry with his innovative X3-Bar. This unique device uses a combination of the world's most powerful resistance bands and a detachable bar, allowing users to build muscle three times faster than conventional weightlifting, without the risk of joint injury. Dr. Jaquish's groundbreaking research has also led him to conclude that lifting weights is a "worthless endeavor" compared to the enormous levels of force that can be created through variable resistance. Despite his controversial views, Dr. Jaquish's work has attracted the attention of elite athletes, business leaders, and even celebrities. Legendary quarterback Tom Brady, the Miami Heat's Wayne Ellington, and professional bodybuilder Cedric McMillian are just a few of the many high-profile individuals who have used the X3-Bar to achieve remarkable results. Brian sits down with Dr. John Jaquish, the Wall Street Journal bestselling author of the book Weight Lifting Is A Waste Of Time, So Is Cardio, And There's A Better Way To Have The Body You Want! He developed OsteoStrong, a groundbreaking bone density building medical technology, and is now in partnership with Tony Robbins. He is also the inventor of the X3 Bar, which has been proven to develop muscle much faster than conventional weight lifting. Dr. Jaquish's methods have been used to train the world's most elite athletes, such as the entire Miami Heat organization, various NFL and NBA players, as well as Olympians. (21:06) With variable resistance, you deal with more weight in positions where you are stronger, and dealing with less weight in positions where you are biomechanically inefficient. (28:06) For optimal muscle growth, you need a lot of protein in your system. Consuming up to 200 grams every day often makes it hard to eat anything else (i.e. carbs). (33:45) Metabolic rebound is the reason some muscle growth is associated with fasting, as demonstrated in a study conducted by Henry Alkire (https://www.linkedin.com/in/henry-alkire). (44:16) Supposedly, eating one meal per day puts you at higher risk of all-cause mortality. Dr. Jaquish finds a major flaw in the study (https://linkinghub.elsevier.com/retrieve/pii/S2212267222008747) which claims this. (47:06) A healthy heart is highly-dependent on testosterone. This week I want to go through a typical week of my fitness routine and what I think would be optimal for most individuals. Hopefully you will be able to take all or some of this routine and implement it into your life! Here are what I think should be the cornerstone of a typical week of workouts:- 4 Weekly Strength Training Sessions - 48 hours of rest between body parts- Upper / Lower Body Split (A - B - rest - A - B) - 12 - 20 Hard Sets per muscle group- 1 Sprint Session (every 7- 10 days)- 4 - 6 all out 8 to 30 second sprints (bike, run or swim)- Rest enough between sets to be able to give same maximal effort each time- Walk Daily (preferably after meals)- 2 - 4 mobility routines like yoga per week (could be minimum of 10 minutes)Although this might seem like a lot, you can do 15-minute micro workouts with the X3 Bar (link below) and everything else can fit into your day pretty seamlessly. Just make it a priority!I hope this helps you structure your weekly activities and if you have any questions feel free to email me at brian@briangryn.com.If you love the Get Lean Eat Clean Podcast, we'd love for you to subscribe, rate, and give a review on Apple Podcasts. Chronic cardio describes a pattern of overly stressful cardiovascular workouts that last for too long and are conducted too frequently, with insufficient rest periods in between. Chronic exercisers compromise their general health, weight loss goals, and longevity by doing too much too often and ignoring the importance of rest. For many dedicated fitness enthusiasts who tend toward chronic exercise patterns, conducting workouts that are easier, shorter, and less frequent can lead to fitness and health improvements. My workouts have gone from 1 hour to a focused 20-minute workout with the X3 Bar of one dedicated set to fatigue. The focus is more about time under tension and less about hammering out fast reps / sets. It has been easier on my joints and has helped me build muscle without being chronically sore.To counteract the dangers of sedentary living, move more frequently, avoid prolonged periods of stillness during the workday, and add more movement, such as a 10 to 15-minute walk after meals to regulate the insulin response and help with digestion.Conduct the majority of your exercise in the fat-burning aerobic heart rate zone of 180-age or below. Low-level aerobic conditioning maximizes fat burning during the workout and throughout the rest of the day. Aerobic exercise also strengthens bones, joints, and connective tissues and boosts the immune system with a cascade of anti-aging hormones.Occasionally exercising above this aerobic heart rate zone and into the predominantly glucose-burning anaerobic heart rate zone (up to 90 percent of maximum heart rate, but no need to exceed that) can be beneficial. High-intensity exercise, such as that inspired by sprint workouts, promotes optimal gene expression and closely mimics the movements of our Primal ancestors. How To Use Your Book To Sell Products, Services For Greater ROI

Writing a book isn't a solution. It's just part of the journey to business growth and opportunities to make a lot of money.  Tyler Wagner, Founder of Authors Unite, is a book marketing expert, and knows all the tactics entrepreneur-authors can use to grow their income on the back of a book.   BECOMING AN AUTHOR LET'S YOU LAND SPEAKING GIGS,SELL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES  “If you want to become a paid public speaker, one of the ways to do that, is to first write a book and become an author. And better yet, a bestselling author,” Tyler tells host Josh Steimle in the latest episode of the Published Author Podcast.  Tyler launched Authors Unite almost seven years ago to help authors write and publish their books. The business also markets books, and the only service it doesn't provide is coaching.    A number of the authors the company has worked with have achieved bestseller status with the Wall Street Journal. They've also maximized revenue, with their book opening doors to the sale of products and services and speaking gigs.   Tyler's company worked with Dr John Jacquish, author of Weight Lifting Is A Waste of Time. Author Unite got the book onto the Wall Street Journal bestseller list for two weeks.   “We built Dr Jacquish a nice foundation to then really scale it,” says Tyler, who adds that Dr Jacquish sells the well-known X3 Bar and supplements. “Dr Jacquish's book has just been crushing it with almost 1000 reviews in three months.  “I don't take credit for Dr Jacquish's success. He was very successful before he even got to us.”  Another client—Dan Henry—wrote Digital Millionaire Secrets, and has done extremely well on the back of his book, with a program called Sold Out Courses. Tyler says that for Dan the thinking was that if he could sell five courses, from the investment made in his book, then he has already made his money back. Dan also secured new clients through his book.  Tyler says that entrepreneurs are free to decide how they handle the “accolade” of writing a book. It could be from speaking or sales of products and services. “We have seen people multiply their money,” he says.  ALLOW YOUR FIRST DRAFT TO BE TERRIBLE  Tyler wrote his first book not long after dropping out of university. He left, in part, because he wanted real-world experience of being an entrepreneur. With student loans to pay off, he volunteered at conferences and got amazing experience with some famous entrepreneurs, including Tim Ferris, author of The Four Hour Work Week.   Tyler's book Conference Crushing taught him that writing is about completing the process, not perfecting the process. “What I mean by that is you have to allow your rough draft to just be as terrible as it wants to be.   “I'll speak for myself, mine was terrible. And then I hired a very good editor. And it's cool if you know this going in - that an editor can really take your book from a two out of 10 to a 10 out of 10.”  A lot of Tyler's clients have had similar experiences and in his view writers have to accept that you just have to get your book out of your mind, and write it down.  “It can be sloppy. Read it out loud, fix it up a little, then give it to an editor and just let it be what it's meant to be.”  On writing, Tyler says: “I could only do it for an hour in the morning. Some people can do it for like 12 hours in a day and they sprint. For me it was exercise in the morning, my mind's clear then, and then I can write. But I could never do the writing at night.”  He adds that writing gets easier after the first book. “The first book is when you have all the doubts, the limiting beliefs like: ‘People are going to hate this'. But once you do it and you realize nobody's making fun of you online or anything like that, it gets easier.”   BEFORE YOU WRITE, START MARKETING  One of the biggest mistakes entrepreneur-authors make is that they don't begin marketing soon enough.   “The marketing begins before the writing. And that's where I see a lot of first-time authors mess that up. And rightly so, because the writing of the book is just so intense already. So it's like: ‘Let me just focus on that'.”  But Tyler learned from Gary Vee that the number one lesson is: Document, Don't Create. In other words, document your writing process, and use this to kick-start your marketing.  “Documenting that process publicly is a great marketing tool.” explains Tyler. “If you just document the journey of writing and publishing your book, a lot of people will follow just for that alone. It doesn't take much time to just take a selfie in the morning and say where you are, working, struggling, something like that. Show those raw emotions of it.”  Tyler says some clients have started Facebook groups that within six months have 1000s of followers. He encourages writers to do book cover votes, or share vlogs of progress to make things really personal and intense.   LINKS Twitter LinkedIn Facebook AuthorsUnite.com  SUBSCRIBE TO THE PUBLISHED AUTHOR PODCAST  If you enjoyed this episode, don't forget to subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts, or anywhere else you listen to podcasts. It was a simple enough looking system with a platform, some resistance bands, and a bar to attach the resistance bands. I saw people using the system, including Dr Jaquish, and thought, “Big deal, why is it so expensive for some bands and a platform?” However, two things happened to me that changed my mind about the X3 Bar. (1) I had my first child, and quickly realized I had absolutely no time to travel to a gym, let alone even 30 minutes to workout. Interestingly enough, X3 Bar claimed you could get a workout in 10 minutes. (2) I read the Cornell Study, which outlined how athletes undertaking variable resistance training became three times stronger than those doing just traditional free weights. I bought the system and since that day I haven't turned back. With the X3 Bar, I am never sore, I have maintained my muscle mass since the days when I was lifting free weights, and best of all, I am injury free. As you can imagine, most people can't conceive that lifting with the X3 Bar could get you these results in 10-15 minutes of working out. Naturally, I get a lot of questions about the X3 Bar, and the science behind it. I thought it would great to have none other than Dr Jaquish on himself to explain the irrefutable science, and why we have been lied to about lifting weights for so long. Dr Jaquish is known for what some might call flippantly saying “weightlifting and cardio is a waste of time,” but he backs up his beliefs with science.Since I last saw Dr Jaquish three years ago, he has put on 60 lbs of muscle! Again, people can't rationalize how he's been able to accomplish this feat without steroids or some sort of muscle enhancer. Dr Jaquish has, however, been criticized for using testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), and many attribute his gains purely to that. However, on this episode, Dr Jaquish addresses those criticisms and explains why TRT has had nothing to do with his growth. Instead, Dr Jaquish has altered and refined his diet since he first started with X3 three years ago, which is something we get into heavily this episode. He's also launched a new product called Fortagen, which is a high quality essential amino acid blend that he credits for helping pack on that muscle mass.We spoke for three hours and covered so much that I had to break the episode into two parts. In part one, we talk a lot about the science of X3, his new book, why whey protein is bullshit, how to increase muscle through fasting, and much much more. Dr. John Jaquish is an inventor, author, and scientist whose discoveries on strength and bone density will possibly change the way you think about exercise forever. He talks about creating the X3 Bar and how it can make us grow muscle 3X faster than we would while using weights. Connor talks about his use of the X3 Bar and what he has been loving about it, Dr. Jaquish gives us some tips on fasting, and he even flexes on us while describing the X3 bar set up in his Lambo.   Key Takeaways: We are actually seven times stronger than we think we are. Dr. Jaquish saw how the X3 bar not only helped people grow bone density but gave them an efficient and targeted workout with less chance of injury. While we can over-load our joints and under-load our muscles while lifting weights, the X3 bar changes the weight as we move. This means more aggressive growth and better results from the muscle being taken to fatigue at a greater level. There are a ton of scientific studies done on the X3 Bar, along with Dr. Jaquish now working with the Miami Heat, NFL players, bodybuilders, professional swimmers, and many more. With X3 Bar you can do a workout anywhere, and if you are a baller like Dr. Jaquish, you can even set it up in your Lambo. Dr. Jaquish gained 60 lbs of muscle and dropped 16 lbs of fat with the X3 Bar. Two of the most important factors of health and diet include having high levels of strength and low levels of body fat. Fasting is a regular part of Dr. Jaquish's life, and it is not uncommon for him to do a 5 day fast with only 16 calories a day. If you've lost a lot of weight and still have that baggy and loose skin, fasting could help your body metabolize it.   Mentioned in This Episode: Connor Murphy Talks YouTube page: @ConnorMurphyTalks Brandon's YouTube page: @HighLifeWorkOut @KingKeto — Brandon Carter on Instagram X3 Bar: Website | Facebook — use code MURPHY to save $50 Dr. John Jaquish: Facebook | Instagram | Press Mike Mentzer
