This week we continue a-milkin' that New York cow! Um, excuse us? We are walking here. Meagan and Lindy make a brave break from their cozy hotel room into the NYC winter night to watch Drag Race at a local bar/mystery tent and meet THE Thorgy Thor camping out in there! Somebody go back in time, call our elder care facility, and tell them to bring us a knit blanket! Have you ever experienced a winter chill? DM us Y/N @textmebackpodAnd next, we add a sexy twist to our age-old Segment P.U.B.E.S. This week we're calling it Segment P.U.B.E.S.: Crazy Lady Living in a Bag. Two guesses as to who the crazy ladies are. Won't you join us in our bag? Tbh we get a little real here because it's BAD out there, and the badness is all by design. (Check out Meagan's latest installment of SWAMP PERSON for more thoughts on “What are you allowed to be mad about?”)And ultimately we're gonna have to make room for more crazy ladies in our bag. We'll shove aside the orange peels, used tissues, old receipts, and empty hand sanitizer bottles to welcome in anyone who wants to fight alongside us for something better–and we're going to do our best to give them one of our crumbled cookies to welcome them in. If we're gonna turn the tides of fascism, it'll be with the help of misguided voters AND at least one annoying guy with a rinky-dink sign. We wanna know what you're mad about and what you're doing to resist! Email us at deartextmeback@gmail.com.Finally, a plea to the Text Me Backolytes: bring back the ghosts! Lindy and Meagan demand more supernatural content, and the listeners must deliver. Call in with your spookiest ghost encounters (or just a story about a scary man in a car, that counts too). From the time she was very young, Thorgy Thor (née Shane Thor Galligan) was an outgoing bundle of energy. Her parents signed her up for a variety of activities, including sports and music, to keep her engaged and to burn off some of that excess energy. Developing skills playing violin, viola, and cello led Thorgy Thor to major in music at The Hartt School (CT), and at SUNY Purchase (NY). After graduation, she was a playing and teaching music by day, and finetuning her skills as a drag queen, ultimately leading to her co-creating her program Thorgy and the Thorchestra. She now tours with her show, which ranges from classical orchestral music to pop favorites, to perform with orchestras all over. Thorgy Thor spoke with Suzanne about the power and importance of music in her life.
If it's a season of RPDR, you can be sure there's gonna be a roast. If it's a season of All Stars, it's going to have built-in grudges, egos, and years of hurt feelings – but this year, at least the jokes were ACTUALLY good. Maybe too good? The sharpness, the editing – it's all starting to point to an unusual season for charity, where perhaps not all of the girls are behaving… charitably? What's the edit, what's the tea, and what-in-the-hell – BOB'S BACK?! From Angeria's drag delusion to Roxxxy's vow for revenge, it's a party. I was really honoured to have this opportunity to sit down and talk with the dynamic conductor, composer, multi-instrumentalist and radio host of CBC's CentreStage, Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser. We explored many interesting and important ideas around creating spaces for diverse audiences, amateur versus professional musicians, LGBTQ rights, his project with the drag queen Thorgy Thor, the lost music of Florence Price, and wonderful advice not only for conductors, but for everyone seeking more balance and meaning in their lives. Daniel currently holds positions with the San Francisco Symphony, the Toronto Symphony, Symphony Nova Scotia, and the National Arts Centre Canada. The video version is here, also linked to the transcript: https://www.leahroseman.com/episodes/e8-s2-daniel-bartholomew-poyser His current projects can be found here: https://www.danielbartholomewpoyser.com/bio Buy me a coffee? Check out my Ko-fi page: https://ko-fi.com/leahroseman Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser: "Your specific nerdy interests, I believe will be of use and value to the orchestras of the communities that you serve. That would be one thing. For conductors, I would say study languages. If I were to give practical advice, I'm just going to scatter shot a bunch of practical advice. Learning languages is important, not just because of the ability to read scores or read books of languages, but just be able to think in a different way and to have a breadth of knowledge that's like not a triangle, but a pyramid. I think that's really important for a conductor. I think as a conductor, it's really important to listen and I mean, listen, capital L, not just listen to music, but listen to people, because ultimately what a conductor needs to be able to do the best is listen. Listen to what the orchestra's playing, listen to what your players are saying in committee meetings, listen to what the marketing people are saying, listening to what your community is saying, your community stakeholders, listening to what the board is saying, listening to what the donors are saying, taking all of this in, holding it, ruminating with it, looking at it from different facets, and being able to hold everything that is in orchestra and being an art leader in a community and observe it and being able to have it affect you. And then also having enough of a grounded center of other things, like airline marketing and car design, to be able to put it over here and come back to it. But being able to listen and take things in is ultimately the job of a conductor, being able to listen under pressure and take things in. And you can do that anywhere, at any time, really focusing your listening, whether it's people speaking to you or the composer speaking or the orchestra.” Photo Credit: Benjamin Delarivière --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/leah-roseman/message

Stars of Ru Paul's Drag Race & Queer Eye are featured in the season's hottest ticket! The virtual variety show takes place on February 14. Gun Violence Is Still A Drag, will feature Thorgy Thor and Denali of Ru Paul's Drag Race and Jai Rodriguez of the original Queer Eye series, and invites viewers to grab brunch, jump in front of a screen, and enjoy a hilarious compilation of “love” songs performed by their favorite faces. The show raise funds for LGBTQ youth scholarships — Performers from across the country are joining forces with The Dru Project, an organization founded in the wake of the tragic 2016 shooting at Pulse Nightclub, to make this event incredible. Today we welcome Sara Grossman, The Dru Project Communications Director and Domenic Vermeulen the Physical Production Coordinator for A+E Studios to tell us the T on this huge event! The Dru Project was founded in 2016 in honor of Christopher “Drew” Leinonen, one of the 49 victims of the tragedy at Pulse Nightclub. A licensed mental health professional, Drew was passionate about creating spaces for queer youth to live authentically - work that The Dru Project has placed at the core of its mission. To date, the organization has authored the country's most comprehensive classroom guide for Gay Straight Alliance student groups, reached over 400,000 people worldwide to advocate for queer youth, and awarded over $75,000 in college scholarships to LGBTQ leaders. Although "infectious" might not be the best word to use these days, it certainly applies to RuPaul's Drag Race royalty Thorgy Thor, who joins the guys from New York, where -- of all things -- he's been playing Mr. Mom to a two-year-old since the pandemic hit. Also, Brent, Eliot and H. Alan celebrate International Lesbian Day with a tribute to their faves including QUEEN Sandy Toksvig (WE STAN). And is Mike Pence so homophobic that he's inevitably gay? Or is he just a horrible person? Because he is DEFINITELY a horrible, horrible person. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
The series will take viewers on a loud, outrageous and heartwarming ride as the queens help each person reveal the best version of themselves—inside and out. In each episode, the cast will help someone reimagine their appearance for a special day and reveal themselves as they have only dreamed, while taking viewers on a touching journey of their life and struggles to this point. Whether it be a bride who wants to feel beautiful walking down the aisle, an alumna who wants to strut her stuff at an upcoming high school reunion, or a woman coming to terms with her new body after losing a massive amount of weight, there is nothing our queens can’t tackle. The Team of experts includes: Alexis Michelle is a makeup artist, specializing in weddings and special events; BeBe is an experienced event planner who can transform any room into a fantasy space; Jujubee, a fashion expert known for her dynamic and iconic looks, draws on her deep knowledge in drag couture and women’s fashion; and Thorgy Thor is a classically trained musician who knows how to get the party started. A former contestant from RuPaul’s Drag Race, Alexis Michelle is a Drag Superstar who always shines onstage. Using her gift of hair and make-up, Alexis has glammed up hundreds of brides for their big day and even been dubbed “brides best friend” by multiple mother of the brides! When she is not glamming up women or touring the world, Alexis stays busy with her solo shows at Broadway’s living room, Feinstein’s/54 Below, and Club Cumming.
This week, Nick and Caitlyn had the pleasure of sitting down with the incredible Amber Linde! They talked art, musical improv, giving back to the community, and why her favorite drag queen is Thorgy Thor! This episode is sure to lift your spirits, don't miss it!!
S10 E1: It's a new chapter in Drag Race herstory, and your hosts are ready to take it on! They invite Oscar Montoya (UCB, Inside the Disney Vault) to dish on his own experience with drag and what he really thinks of this season. Bitch! Oscar lived with the Thorgy Thor and he got stories! These ladies are living for this batch of girls and they are letting you have it. Do we love Xtina's appearance more than Lady Gaga's? Chad assigns the girls their berry counterpoint, Nicholas defends Willam passionately, and Oscar does a spoken word inspired by Vanessan Vanjie Mateo's early departure. Come get these cookies mama! AS3 E4: Deep in the throngs of Malibu, recorded from a pool floaty, surrounded by boom mics, we present to you... NEW SOUND EFFECTS! Snatch game is here bebe goylz! Super spesh guest Mano Agapion (@manoagapion) stops by to figure out who's snatch was the snatchiest. Did these queens pick the right character choices? Also: NOTEGATE! Team Trixie? Team Shangela? Team Producers? Also, we ask the daring question... Is Marc Jacobs a robot? Are Carson and Ross robots? This may be the giggliest ep thus far, hennies.Listen to Mano's Podcast! www.horny4horror.com See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
Mike, Amanda, and Pasquale talk serious and make goofy-goofs with Kristin Seale, candidate for the 168th PA House district. The gang talks about the thousands of candidates running for Delco's congressional seats, compare metaphorical canvassing scars, finally shine some light into the County Council chambers, discuss criminal justice reform and energy policy, ask "What Did Millennials Kill This Week?", and debate the relative merits of Thorgy Thor. AS3 E2: Round 2 bitches! Back with the recap for the second episode of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3. We're covering the Vh1 Divas Live lip sync estravaganza. Your hosts Nicholas Waggoner and Chad Westbrook are pissed with the "rigor morris" that went on with this episode. Was Thorgy sabotaged? Yeah, probably. We delve into the roles the queens were assigned and if they should have chosen any other divas. Stacie Orrico anyone?! Nicholas is family friends with Diana Ross and Chad can't finish a metaphor. Get into this gig! See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
We are feeling in-credible as Thorgy Thor (@ThorgyThor) of RuPaul’s Drag Race joins us for a sinfully tickling chat about 101 Dalmatians. Barking mad Cruella De Vil, the smartest person in the world and literally indestructible human, seeks out her presumably(?) good friend(??)’s brand new puppies(!) FOR THEIR FUR(!!!).
DragCon weekend is over, and Lucy is still in LA! We are exhausted but coming off a pretty nice high, also we get pretty high. Our good Judys from New York stop by this week! Please welcome Robert and Daniel from Grizzly Kiki back to the show! It's always a good time with the Grizzly girls! We chat about their upcoming roast of Thorgy Thor, and why they weren't at DragCon. On today's episode we dissect the latest episode of drag race, which was SNATCH GAME! Listen in to find out if we loved it, or hated it. Probably a bit of both. www.thetonysotoshow.com
2:30am. The White Party performances are over and the last drinks have been poured as we pull up some chairs in the dressing room of the world famous Parliament House and I get to interview Thorgy Thor, Naomi Smalls and Robbie Turner from Season 8 of Rupaul’s Drag Race. Sitting and drinking and talking about their fellow cast mates, alternate Snatch Game characters, their excuse to friends and social media when they went to film the show, favorite cartoons and which queen says that Justice is totally her type and MORE!!! This was probably one of the most fun and interactive interviews that I’ve had the pleasure to do and my thanks to Logo, the Queens and the folks at the Parliament House for helping it all come together.
