Episode 59 of Gaming Couch! Satisfactory is the name of the game and I could not think of a better pun. 10/10 would pun again. Satisfactory is a factory building sim from the team over at Coffee Stain Studios, who have worked on Goat Simulator, Sanctum 1 and 2, and Deep Rock Galactic. The game is currently in Early Access and can be picked up on Epic Games for 30 bucks. All in all, it's a good deal so far. In this game you are dropped on an alien with nothing but a crate, a buidling tool, and your wit to create the most efficient factories possible. Now, you aren't graded on it at all. You simple build better factories to improve your production rate so you can reach higher tiers in the game quicker. It uses a simple reward system. You find a new mineral to use and used it to better your factories? Well, now you have access to Oil to better your power grid. You found enough oil to complete a milestone? Now you get trains to transport materials access long distances quicker. You Don't NEED to make all these things to complete the game. It just helps reach the end goal faster and it feels so satisfying to make better and better factories. The same says it all. 'Satisfactory'. Correction: I said Coal Generators give 150 for power. I meant a FUEL Generator does that. Coal is only 50. Smartboy P.S. This is a game that has me staying up until 3am once again. To me, that's a good sign.

How to Make a Good Password Use password managers to create a strong password: https://dorksdelivered.com.au/blog/254-how-to-make-a-good-password   Watch this episode on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ZArTp7MY2z8   I've just told everyone your password. Yup. They are the most common passwords that people have. Yep. Had to think about that for a moment. If you have any of those passwords, any of the ones that are flicking on the right side of your screen, you're in trouble mister. Your password is going to be cracked like that. There's no point even having a password. Just leave your car unlocked with the keys in the ignition and cross your fingers it doesn't get stolen. There are so many stupid passwords that we see time and time again, it's ridiculous. If your password is "password", that's not a very good password, is it? Use Tools To Protect Your Password The idea of a password is to have a locked way of getting into something. So, people can't just jump in there. You don't just have your key sitting on the front door and say please don't take me down to Bunnings and copy me. You need to make sure you're diligent with your password. Use tools such as Last Pass or Key Pass or one of the other password management tools that allow for you to store your passwords in an encrypted way. Don't have the same password for everything. That's a big no no. Don't have the same passwordmate. I get one of your passwords, I get all of your passwords. It doesn't make any sense. Have Different Passwords Make sure you've got different passwords for everything. Half of the people that we come across before they are onboarded have the passwordpassword0! Or just the word password. How are they not just sensible with what they're doing? People don't want to get hacked and they don't have the downtime, but they don't want to commit a password to their memory. You Don't Need to Have a Great Memory If you aren't very good with committing something to memory and you're a bit of a goldfish, use Last Pass or Key Pass or find a passwordmanager. You can have it on your phone. You grab out your phone and you go into it and you can look at the list of all your passwords. Then you can click on it and then you can type your password in. Make Them Difficult You can save your password in a browser, but make sure that you've got a good password for the account you're saving it with. So, say for instance if you've got a Google account and you're using Chrome and you're saving the password in there, have a really super, duper difficult password. It doesn't have to be difficult for you. It has to be difficult for everyone else. A great example would be your mother's birthdate or the date your parents were engaged or something like that. Something no one else is really going to know and if someone asks you the question be like, "Oh that's a bit suspicious isn't it?" This Really Happened! We went through and did a test. I rang up pretending to be a woman. Now, I had permission to do this by the person. But rang up a large Australian bank and pretended starting with the letter N, yep, pretended to be this woman. Now she is a woman in her late 60s. I rang up and I said that I was the woman in the same voice you're hearing right now. I told them my maiden name and I told them my address and I told them my full name and I changed around the mortgage she was on. I don't sound like a woman in her late 60s. I think. I hope I don't sound like a woman in her late 60s. But they went, "Alright." Then I answered the questions right and that was it. They let me in. That's so ridiculous. Have difficult questions. Make sure that you're using a difficult password. Social Hacking Is Going to Be a Problem Passwords are easy to break into if they're easy passwords. Social hacking is the biggest problem that we're going to be facing over the next 5 to 10 years. If I can call up and pretend to be you using my voice and transfer money out of your bank account or change your annual mortgage, it was a white head thing i did. I found a better rate. It was a nice thing. You got to start wondering. You got to protect yourself. The Final Word Being negligent is not a reason to be turning a blind eye to this. You need to make sure you're on top of it. Have good passwords. 123456, password0! Remove all these passwords from your life. Make it so that you do something. Maybe it's your wife's name. Maybe it's something else, but just make it something and then chuck a couple of special characters, a question mark, an exclamation mark, a hash. Something. Something different. Put a capital letter in there. Spoil yourself. Get a good password. Stay good.

Go with me for a moment. Most of your friends come from your job. You are all close in age, you spend 40 hours together and often go to lunch together. In some cases, you even hang out after hours. Then you hire a new person. They are also similar to your age. Then you notice some characteristics: They seem to do things with little thoughts about long-term effects as you "only live once." They seem to talk negatively about many of the things you do They seem unfocused on your companies goals and are a bit self-centered. You try to ignore them, but every time you turn around they seem to be there. They seem to lie to you all the time Would you want to hang out with this person? How frustrating would this person be? How To Turn the Tides on Your Negative Inner Talk Notice it Notice what you're doing when you hear it Talkback and tell them to go away No matter what the inner critic has told you, you do have positive traits, although it may take you some time and discipline to retrain yourself to see them. We all have an automatic selective filtering system that (our brain) will look for evidence in our environment that matches up with whatever we believe to be true about ourselves. We will then disregard other evidence to the contrary. How We Feel About Ourselves Matters Events + Thoughts = Emotions If our thoughts determine how we feel, that means how we habitually think will determine how we habitually feel. (source) Give Your Negative Talker a Name I have a friend of mine who refers to his negative talker as "Grizz" as it's like a bear that roars at him to go eat bad things. I think I'm going to name mine "Charlie." I'm not sure why, but I can hear me telling Charlie to piss off, so I'm going with Charlie. Think about what kind of clothes this person would wear. Visualize this person. Now That It's Easier to See The Negative You Pay Attention to Your Environment The other night I found myself at an ice cream parlor. I thought to myself, why am I here? My inner voice told me one cone wouldn't hurt (lies). What had happened? I had been asked by my ex-wife to attend a Christmas party with her. Not as a date (They actual date had something come up and she didn't want to go stag). I wanted to help, and I'm not worried about us on a romantic level, but there was something in my gut that said this was not the best idea on the planet. The next thing I know, I'm at the ice cream parlor. Seeing Is Believing I have a wi-fi- Digital Scale which automatically enters my weight into My FitnessPal. Consequently, I don't really look at it much. My scale shows if I went up or down from the last time I weighed myself (which is typically daily). As the year is coming to an end, I downloaded all of my stats from Myfitnesspal and looked at the lowest and highest weight of the past years My goal for years has been 185 lbs.  May sites say 190 is the top of the range, and so I wanted to go to 185 Then I say that in 2016 I was five pounds from hitting my goal. After each year getting closer (with 2013, 2014, and 2105 each getting closer). I also see them when I get close to 220, or 225, I ge mad and get dedicated and focused. You Don't Need to Wait Two Weeks To "Start Over" Here is what I've done I'm using habitshare (I talked about this on a previous episode) to focus on the things I need to do (getting sleep, hitting calories goals, activity goals, etc) I joined a Stepbet this helps me focus on being active I bought a new treadmill (more on that later) I'm going to enter my weight into a spreadsheet that shows what my goal weight should be. (All Logical Losers can get a copy of this spreadsheet) My New Treadmill I've said the best exercise is the one you do. I tried a manual treadmill, but in a nutshell, I just liked a motorized treadmill better. I didn't really bother me until it started snowing. My activity went down to nothing, and the weight started to come back up. It wasn't cheap, but I know it would get used. I pulled out a credit card (not my favorite way to pay for things) and but the bullet. I bought a Horizon Fitness T101-05 Folding Treadmill that was on sale. Here is what I like: Built in blue tooth speakers built-in racks for tablets Featherlight folding Super quiet Goes up to 10 MPH and it also inclines Here is what I think needs improved: There are 40 different variations of programs that you can run, but the documentation on how to use them is poor. The built-in fan is an absolute waste of time Things to Know: It's heavy. While you can fold it up and drag it around, it's very heavy so pick where you want it, and put it down. From what I read, the Johnson company builds this brand all the parts for the unit, and they are well made and have won awards. Conclusion I've had it a week, and love it. https://youtu.be/CqDf2M6gq7c As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases Become a Logical Loser www.logicallosers.com

Episode #10 NEW CAREER OPPORTUNITIES, High Paying Technology Jobs and You Don't Need a Degree Unedited Instagram Live Stream of The Morning Commute. Today I'm talking about New Opportunities for you in landing a Technology Career. Did you know the average starting salary for a Technology Job is around $60k per year? That's basically $1,000 a week you're bringing home! This is a part of my passion and my efforts to give back, because I am so thankful for the opportunites and success Technology has given to me. There's a growing issue in the Technology Industry today. There is not enough skilled people to fill the demand for Technology Jobs that are open. Harvard Business School validated my gut feelings on this issue by researching with over 800 HR Departments across the country. They called the issue "The Middle Skills Gap" and validated that there are not enough middle skilled human resources to fill the demand for the jobs that companies have. I believe most people can learn and take advantage of the current Technology Opportunities. That's why I'm doing my best to increase the awareness and talk about the opportunites that Technology has to offer. If you're already happy with your career, then you probably know someone that could use help. Be that friend to send them here. Have them get in touch with me so I can help them with their career track. Be that friend and if you want to raise your career in Technology, let me know. I'm starting a members group on Slack and will invite you. Great things happen by taking action! Hope this helps. You know how important your list is to your business' growth. If you're measuring your list's health in terms of numbers, it can really get you down sometimes. It's easy to feel like the fate of your business is at a standstill until your list numbers in the thousands (or at least the high hundreds). My guest on the podcast today is going to blow that myth out of the water! Rachel Luna is living proof that you don’t need a gigantic list to gain success. What really matters about your list isn’t the number of names and addresses on it, but the quality of those people in terms of their engagement with you. Rachel’s success story is really a one-two punch. Not only does she show the power of what you can do with a highly engaged list, but she’s also a stellar example of how to do affiliate marketing right. If you’ve thought about doing affiliate marketing but haven’t tried it…or if you’ve gone through it before with mediocre results…Rachel’s story is going to truly inspire you. And you’re also going to love the freebie Rachel created for us this week: it’s called the Confident Affiliate Marketing Starter Guide. You can get it by clicking here! Secrets of an Affiliate Marketing Superstar Last spring, Rachel worked with my business coach Todd Herman and chose to be an affiliate promoter of his 90-Day Year program. As a business/life coach to other entrepreneurs, Rachel is ultra-focused on taking action and setting goals, which made her a perfect fit for this promotion. Her message is all about breaking through negative thoughts and limiting beliefs to achieve the success you want. This promotion really gave her a chance to practice what she preached. Rachel came into Todd's affiliate program with a list just over 5000. That may sound like a lot, but bear in mind she was working among affiliates who had lists upward of 100k! She was a small fish in a very big pond. Actually, I also happened to be working with Todd as an affiliate for this program, as well. And as the promotion got going, I started seeing this name I'd never heard before popping up on the leader board. Her numbers were going up at an astonishing rate. Other affiliates were starting to talk about her. "Who is this Rachel Luna, and what is her secret?" Finally, I decided to get in touch with her to find out just that. And today she is sharing the secrets of her affiliate marketing success with all of us! Click here to start listening now. The Steps to Affiliate Marketing Success Rachel had done a few affiliate promotions in the past--by the time she got involved with Todd's 90-Day Year program, she had some solid standards for success in place: She had rules to determine which affiliate programs she participates with. Rule #1 is not to promote anything she has not personally used. Rachel knows that to keep her list's trust, she has to limit her promotions to things that she knows will work and that she can offer knowledgeable support around. She had a plan. It’s easy to think that because you’re working for someone else, you don’t have to put as much work into your launch. But Rachel really makes her affiliate partner’s business her own. She even created a Facebook group where she shared the details of her own success in using Todd’s program. She had a revenue goal. This was Rachel’s fourth ever affiliate promotion, and she’d built up her capability over the previous three times. So this time, her goal was $14,000. She set expectations. Right from the beginning, she let her audience know how long she’d be offering this free content from Todd. Doing this created urgency, and it also let anyone who wasn’t interested know that she wasn’t giving up her own brand forever. She kept her audience engaged and accountable. Throughout the promotion, Rachel took a proactive approach to her audience. Every time content or a video was released, she would check in with her audience, tell them her takeaways and ask for theirs, keep tabs on whether they were doing their workbook exercise--whatever it took to keep them engaged. In essence, she treated the pre-launch content as if it were the program itself. "If you can help them get results right from jump street, they trust you, and it helps them fall in love with the program." Find out more about how Rachel achieved such amazing affiliate success! Click here to listen now. Overcoming Your Setbacks You can see why Rachel was blowing us all away with her climbing numbers! This made it all the more devastating when, just one week before the official program kickoff, Rachel’s website got hacked. Everything she had planned for her promotion—blogs, sales pages, bonus materials that she’d created for her audience—was gone. Rachel considered not even doing the promotion. She’d spent hours putting all this together, only to have it wiped out overnight. But after talking with Todd, she decided to keep moving forward and see what happened. "I sent off that first email which I had taken the time to write really well. I was very thoughtful about it. I was very intentional because I wanted to make sure it was something that would resonate with my audience." And oh, did it ever resonate. By Day 1 of the promotion, Rachel had made $10k…almost 75% of her revenue goal. By Day 2, she’d surpassed her goal by $2000. By the time the launch ended, Rachel had made a $53,000 profit, almost four times her goal amount. By the way, this little fish, ended up finishing fourth overall out of all the affiliates promoting the program. Amazing! You Don't Need a Big List to Get Big Results Rachel shares a lot more details of what made her affiliate launch such a staggering success--how much she spent on Facebook ads, how she structured bonuses for her audience, etc.--in the full podcast episode. And of course you'll want to download her amazing freebie, the Confident Affiliate Marketing Starter Guide.  EPISODE FREEBIE Get the Confident Affiliate Marketing Starter Guide FREE DOWNLOAD But the biggest takeaway, in my view, was that Rachel didn't let the size of her email list stop her. She could have put off Todd's program until next time it came around, telling herself she was going to wait until her list was bigger. But instead, she took action with what she had, focused on maximizing her strengths, and didn't let setbacks slow her down. "Sometimes, in my experience as a life coach, people aren’t so focused on taking action, they are focused on feeling better. They were happy with mediocre results. I want to have the best, most exciting. I want big."

What it Takes to Be Extraordinary in All You Do We often accomplish more by doing less. Activity is the anesthesia of the modern person. When we stay insanely busy we think we are accomplishing something but we are just staying insanely busy. Ask yourself, what’s important and am I accomplishing it! "We all have same number of hours and minutes in a day. It’s what we do with those that determine if we have an ordinary or extraordinary life." - Mark Sanborn Mark Sanborn was recently named to the Top Leadership Experts to Follow in 2015.  His best selling book The Fred Factor: How Passion in Your Work and Life Can Turn the Ordinary into the Extraordinary reveals a clear path to an extraordinary life How do you define extraordinary? It is something that stands out. Ordinary is unremarkable. We don’t remember the ordinary. Sameness is a bad business and life strategy. Savor what you are able to create and do. Mark explains that we are in one of three places in our lives Stuck Struggling Successful – We run the risk of becoming stuck, just stuck at a higher level. When stuck you need a push and a plan. You need to do the work yourselves but we can encourage others and find encouragement for ourselves. Your plan should define what success looks like but we often lack clarity on the outcome we want.  We assume that people without clarity haven’t taken time to define what they want. It could be the case that you just don’t know what you want. You might need to do more things, try more things and it would give you perspective. Don’t get into a state where you don’t move forward until you have perfect clarity. Sometimes people are afraid to aspire to more. Successful people are not afraid to aspire higher. It’s about aiming a little higher so you get more than you would have gotten. Live life fully!  Try a lot of things and be intentional about what success looks like.
