This week is a huge topic for anyone these days—finding stability in a time of instability. For Solo parents, there are several factors in play … the first is working on surrender to God to allow His stability to enter our hearts and minds. The second is working on ourselves to be stable in our own feelings and emotions. The third is finding stability, not in trying to fill the void with another relationship, but rather to find support within a solid and supportive community. The shepherd turned king David certainly understood chaos in life—from his enemies, those around him, and even by his own hand. Let's begin our look at stability by going to our Source. Listen to David's words:Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:5-8 NLT) As believers in and followers of Christ, just because the world around us shakes does not mean we have to. If we are in Him, then He holds us in His hands. He is our Hope. Our Rock. Our Fortress. Our Refuge.Listen once again to this passage in The Message Bible … What is making you feel unstable right now? Can you pinpoint the source of your instability?Whether your answer is one thing or everything, whether your feelings or your thoughts or your actions feel completely shaky, take the focus off the unstable things in and around you and focus on the One who is always stable. Imagine Him holding you now, like a Dad with a child in a storm. Just for this moment, take your eyes off what is shaking and place them on what is solid … Your Hope. Your Rock. Your Fortress. Your Refuge.Let's pray together: “Heavenly Father, I receive Your hope, I want to live with You as my Rock, My Fortress, my Refuge. My anxious thoughts, feelings, and emotions I give to You now. As above, so below.”
This sermon by Snr. Pastor Daniel Musonda Kaira, titled Contending for Your Hope, emphasizes the importance of living by example, growing spiritually, and maintaining hope as the foundation of faith. Key themes include the transformative power of hope, faith as a system of acquisition, and the necessity of internal renewal through God's word. The message highlights the dangers of unresolved issues, external influences, and spiritual stagnation. It also provides practical ways to strengthen hope, such as managing emotions, developing a clear vision, and understanding God's tests in appetite, pride, and power.
In a world that often feels uncertain and overwhelming, it's easy to lose sight of the hope we have in Christ. But no matter the trials or struggles we face, our hope in God is steadfast and unshakable. This hope is not based on circumstances, but on His unchanging love and faithfulness. When we anchor our hearts in His promises, we can take joy, knowing that He is working all things together for our good. Our hope in God is the source of true joy, a joy that transcends our circumstances and strengthens us in every season. Romans 12:12 2021 turned out to be a challenging year. My husband and I suffered through many difficulties: financial strain, health issues, and relational conflict. First, a litany of bills and repairs taxed our bank account. Then, I went through a health challenge that impacted my ability to work and forced me to take some time off to rest. Then, conflict with my husband's job brought a looming black cloud into our home. No matter how hard we tried, the trials kept coming. It was quickly becoming too much to bear. One day, during my prayer time, I cried out to God: Why are you doing this to me? Don't you care about me? Can't anything be easy? Although the tribulations kept coming, I noticed something: my reaction to them changed. I no longer came home complaining about how terrible my day ended. Instead, I went to the Lord. I journaled my feelings and read the bible more often. Soon, the Lord's love expressed through the Bible changed my heart. I read about the mercy and grace of Jesus. I saw him express His love to others in each book. I was inspired to become more like a disciple than a Pharisee. As I read, I realized I was more like a Pharisee than I thought. I found that I complained rather than was grateful, and I didn't believe that Jesus was who He said He was. But as God changed my heart, I began to feel God could turn things around. I started to see trials as a good thing rather than a bad thing. Soon, I looked forward to having my time with God. Eventually, the trials subsided, and my circumstances got a little easier. But the suffering brought me closer to God in prayer than I'd ever been. Trials that I thought were a punishment were really a blessing in disguise. When we had financial concerns, my friends helped us. When I faced the health challenge, I had my church uphold me in prayer. When conflict arose, we used the best conflict resolution skills possible and resolved it as best we could. Although I don't want to go through those trials again, God didn't waste my pain during those times. God used it to make me more grateful. I turned my tears into gratitude, transforming my thoughts and, ultimately, my heart. He drew me closer to him and improved my prayer life. I heard his voice when I listened as well. My relationship with God deepened like never before. Sometimes, the worst things in life turn out to be the best things after all. Advent is a season of expectation and anticipation. While the people expected the Savior to be a king who would take away all their suffering, our king emerged in the most unusual circumstances. Jesus was far from what they expected their king to look like. What they thought they wanted turned out to be not what they expected. Life is like that sometimes. Life may look far from what you expected it to be. You may feel disillusioned or jaded with how life has turned out. You may be complaining or confused as to what God is doing. If this is you, take joy in your hope in God. Come to God faithfully in prayer. Let Him turn your mourning into gratitude. Be grateful for what God has already done. Let God turn even the most challenging situation around for your good. Count your blessings. Be content in this season of life. Take joy in the life God has given you. Be patient in your trials. Place your hope in God. Praise God for what he already has given. Put your hope into turning around even the most challenging situation. He always changes things around for our good and His glory. Father, help us to be joyful as we hope in you. Rejoice in knowing that even when life looks far from what we think it should be or if we're dealing with relentless trials, we can still delight in having hope in you. Amen. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8)"A person whose heart is pure directs his/her whole attention to God, to good. Purity is one-pointed vision, the 'single' eye. Impurity, in a spiritual sense, implies double vision, seeing good and evil. When the consciousness is so purified that we perceive only One Presence and One Power, we are, in reality, seeing God." GROW Greatness Reached over Oppression through Wisdom The Beautiful muddy Mississippi ‘Cry me a River of Tears'Mind over Matter✨
Your Hope will Not be Cut Off! "For the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the oppressed forever dashed." Psalm 9:18 The reality is that there are negative Hope and positive Hope in life. However, we must remember that God's hope is better than any hope we may have and can never be cut off. Hope in God's word is how we find the strength to stand up against all the odds and make the best out of every situation. Hope is how we find peace and joy in life because God has given us this gift of hope. He gave us the ability to see through our troubles and make a difference in the world. When there are multitudes of challenges, and things seem difficult, believe there is hope. There is hope for every living man or woman who trusts in God even though they fail or make mistakes. Challenges and life issues are inevitable; no man is born to live a problem-free life. We are all going to face one or two difficulties, but only the ones who trust in the Lord will overcome them. I have been through many troubles and struggles in my life, but God always delivered me. And I am sure, He will do the same thing for you in Jesus' name. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." God's grace and mercy will save you from all your troubles. In as much as you are alive, you have the hope to take in the life of Christ; this is very vital. The book of John 16:33 says, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me, you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.". It is the life of Christ that brings every other hope of being in our life. Don't allow the devil to make use of your mistakes to get at you by using men's voices to say, "you can't be successful in your endeavors," as a result of your previous flops. Forget about the past failures and mistakes; get up and pursue after that which God lay ahead of you. As much as you have God on your side and trust Him, you will surely excel. All other life issues are just part of life's trials; don't ever give up. There is hope. "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in Christ Jesus." John 14:1. "For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease." Job 14:7 Prayer: Oh! Lord, I thank you for assuring me of hope in Christ Jesus. I am thankful for your faithfulness. Father, revive all my lost expectations and possessions in Jesus' name. In the name of Jesus, deliver me from all hopelessness and despair and bring me to the light of truth. Amen! https://maglife.org --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/divine-ojelade/support
342 Be Prepared to Give The Reason for Your Hope, A Guided Christian Meditation on 1 Peter 3:15-17 with the Recenter With Christ app I'm Chaplain Jared and I work as a hospice chaplain and an ICU chaplain, my purpose in making this podcast is to help you find more peace in your life and to be more open for your heart to be changed by the Spirit of God. By using centuries old form of Christian Meditation named Lectio Divina: Outline: Relaxation, Reading, Meditation, Prayer, Contemplation and Visualization. Get into a place where you can sit comfortably and uninterrupted for about 20 minutes. You should hopefully not be driving or anything tensing or unrelaxing. If you feel comfortable to do so, I invite you to close your eyes. Guided Relaxation / Guided Meditation: Breathe and direct your thoughts to connecting with God. Let your stomach be a balloon inflate, deflate. Bible verses for Meditation: 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17 For it is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. NRSV 15 but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defense to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you; 16 yet do it with gentleness and reverence. Keep your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who abuse you for your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame. 17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if suffering should be God's will, than to suffer for doing evil. Meditation on Scripture: What testimony do you have to share? One of shame, fear, and insecurity or one of hope, love, and gratitude? What reasons would you give of your hope? Do you follow Christ to gain earthly rewards? This scripture shows us that regardless of what we do in life, we will inevitably encounter hardship. How we act in the middle of this hardship can be a testimony of our faith. The way we share our faith also indicates how we feel about it. For example when we share our faith because it fills us with hope and joy, that more fully represents how Jesus taught. Jesus didn't promise earthly blessings, in fact he often taught that our lives will certainly have hardship, but the would be there to help us carry the weight. Prepare today for a deeper level of trust in Christ. Not that he will give us what we want, but that he will give us what we need. It is better to follow God in hardship then to have a seemingly life of ease without God. Meditation of Prayer: Pray as directed by the Spirit. Dedicate these moments to the patient waiting, when you feel ready ask God for understanding you desire from Him. Meditation of God and His Glory / Hesychasm: I invite you to sit in silence feeling being patient for your own faults and trials. Summarize what insights you have gained during this meditation and meditate and visualize positive change in your life: This is a listener funded podcast at patreon.com/christianmeditationpodcast Updates: Final Question: In what ways do you struggle with seeing people as objects at times? Final Thought: God's plan was meant to try us and to push us to rely on Him. Let’s begin our look at stability by going to our Source. Listen to David’s words: Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Our Refuge. Listen once again to this passage in The Message Bible … What is making you feel unstable right now? Can you pinpoint the source of your instability? Whether your answer is one thing or everything, whether your feelings or your thoughts or your actions feel completely shaky, take the focus off the unstable things in and around you and focus on the One who is always stable. Imagine Him holding you now, like a Dad with a child in a storm. Just for this moment, take your eyes off what is shaking and place them on what is solid … Your Hope. Your Rock. Your Fortress. Your Refuge. Let’s pray together: “Heavenly Father, I receive Your hope, I want to live with You as my Rock, My Fortress, my Refuge. My anxious thoughts, feelings, and emotions I give to You now. As above, so below.”
This is the message from our Hope for the Holidays Series (Part 5) on 1/3/2021 titled "Where is Your Hope" on Philippians 3:13-19 with Pastor Jeff Gill.
Subsequent to the presidential election held in the United States on November 3, 2020, many evangelical leaders, primarily on social media, began exhorting Christians to come together in a spirit of unity around the presumed incoming administration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Notwithstanding that, officially, the outcome of the aforementioned contest had yet to be determined, a fundamental question remains: What kind of unity is acceptable to the church and, more importantly, to God? In their final episode of the 2020 podcast season, Darrell Harrison and Virgil "Omaha" Walker answer that question expositionally—and unequivocally—from Scripture. Where is Your Hope? - 1 Peter 3:8-22
The Reason for Your Hope
On today's show we listen as we discover where our hope lies. We have hope in the Lord Jesus Christ who died on the cross. We know that he paid the price for sin. We have hope in God for sending the Savior to take our place. During these times we can hear all kinds of strange doctrines. Do not be fooled and led astray. We can hope for change, we can hope for things to get better, we can hope for LGBTQ equality, but hope internalized is nothing but a silent wish kept in the closet. To be a change-maker – to be the change you want to see in the world – you need the help of others and more importantly, you need to express that hope with action. You Must Give Voice to Your Hope. And you need to speak up. You need to share your hopes for improving the world. You need to communicate those hopes with empathy in a conversation with others. You may also need to stand up and physically demonstrate your presence – your existence – for others to feel your hope. Hope in the Mind is Nothing But Folly. Hope expressed with action is the most ethical approach to having an evolutionary impact and making the world a better place. Hope when shared connects us with humanity. This is why a larger conversation about how to bring our hopes to life is so important. Header image: Darren Tunnicliff

WELL…COME BACK! H.E.A.L. Your Life… What does that mean? More importantly, what can it mean for YOU and YOUR LIFE? It’s about H.E.A.L.ING your life and life’s work, so you can love your life and life’s work well. Today I’m going to teach you four (4) things that make up the process of H.E.A.L.ING your life. How does that sound? I hope you’ve been doing your SACRED S.O.L. STEPS each day. Your Daily Action To Engage with yourself, so you’re able to sip on life daily. This process of sipping on life daily is about doing a little bit each day. Making sure you’re tuned into how you’re feeling, and how you’re doing your life each day. And most importantly, how you’re BEING while you’re doing what you’re doing. That’s not a new concept. But it’s something that must be practiced every day. It’s the practice of AWARENESS. Become aware of what you’re aware of. Become conscious. Practice the art of conscious living. Conscious loving. Conscious healing. Everything began to shift for me in this process. So what does it mean to H.E.A.L. your life? In my heightened consciousness, I had the awareness that even though I was working with patients each day (including patients with cancer), and seeing a lot of miraculous healing and transformations in people’s lives, there was still something missing. A deeper healing. That missing piece was the incredible connection between the head and the heart. You’ve heard me talk about it. It’s “The Disengagement Syndrome.” I’ve experienced it in my own life. I’ve also seen it in the lives of my patients and coaching clients. When we begin to disengage from our heart, we stay in our head. If you stay in your head, you’re dead. You will not be able to heal at the level that’s available to you if you think it’s a head game. The head must follow the heart. Your heart must lead this game called, “Your Life.” As I became aware of it in my own life, and saw the incredible healing power of this connection between the head and heart, I began to teach it to my patients and coaching clients. It’s been so transformational! Today I’m going to teach you four (4) things that make up this process of H.E.A.L.ING your life. Healing the connection between your head and heart. H: Hope. What does that mean to you? How do you feel about getting your HOPES UP? It’s in your HOPE that you’ll find your H.E.A.L.ING. HOPE is belief, desire, and trust. Do you trust? God, yourself, the process, your desires, and what you believe? Get your HOPES UP. Hope is an incredible, healing, miraculous force. E: Energy. ENGAGED energy. Are you engaging with the energy that is YOU? You ARE energy. You are life. Life is energy. It’s time to move beyond “The Disengagement” and begin to engage with YOU, how, what, and why you feel the way you do. It’s engaging. Begin to pay attention to what you feel, think, what you hope for, and your level of energy and life. What do you desire, and what gives you energy? A: Awareness. What are you consciously aware of? Or are you in the mode of default or “automatic pilot?” Automatic pilot will put you in a holding pattern that continues to circle your life while you’re being disengaged. It’s like putting your foot on the gas and the brake. All while you’re going in reverse. Going around in circles. Are you willing to become aware of what you’re aware of, and become consciously aware of the words coming out of your mouth? Out of your heart come words that’ll give you clues about what you believe, desire, and trust. L: Love. Love your life. No matter how it feels…even if it doesn’t feel awesome. The only way to create an awesome life is to love it exactly where it is right now. The only way to H.E.A.L. YOU and your life…is to accept and embrace where you are right now. To acknowledge it. Acceptance doesn’t mean that you accept it and STOP. It means you accept, embrace, acknowledge, and begin to LOVE YOU exactly where you are today. This includes YOUR LIFE. If you desire to love your life and life’s work well, it starts with H.E.A.L.ING.... Your HOPE. Your ENERGY. Your AWARENESS. Your LOVE. Begin to pour that energy on your life. You’ll not only H.E.A.L. it, but this is called, “Sipping On Your Life.” *YOUR SACRED S.O.L. STEP FOR TODAY: Grab your journal. Your Daily Action To Engage is to take a look at your life. Where does your life need H.E.A.L.ING? WRITE THE WORD: H.E.A.L. Where are you willing to get your HOPES UP? Where are you willing to put your ENERGY? What are you aware of? Write down: I LOVE _____________. (Whatever it is that needs H.E.A.L.ING in your life today.) Thanks for being here! Sipping on life. I love and appreciate you.
