Andrea and Melissa met in 1993 at the age of 14 and have been in each other's lives ever since! Welcome to 14 going on 40 where 2 best friends re- visit the movies that have entertained us starting in our teen years until today.
"I leave for five minutes, and when I come back everyone's a fucking alien." - Zeke After quite a hiatus and an absolutely BONKERS start of the school year, Andrea and Melissa got back to recording! The Faculty brings together so much 90s nostalgia and major acting talent. We might not have known at the time, but the young stars working opposite some powerhouse actors make for some amazing scenes. If you loved this body snatcher flick, you will love re-living it through this episode!
"Stories hurt, stories heal." - Stella Nicholls If you are a Gen Xer and don't remember desperately trying to check out the Scary Stories books from the library, are you even ok??? Just kidding. Sort of. Even if the books weren't your thing, you can appreciate the shock and awe of the illustrations done by Stephen Gammell. Andrea and Melissa definitely have a long-standing relationship with the books, but had not yet seen the 2019 film. It turns out, this was a great trip through the nostalgia of the books, while enjoying them woven together in a movie! Even if you haven't seen the movie, this episode is such a fun listen for those of us that remember Alvin Schwartz's strange tapestry of folklore and horror. Remember, don't you ever laugh as the hearse goes by...….. but laugh as much as you want listening to this episode!
"Could you act human? Okay, I have neighbors." - Isabella Swan Picture it - a dark theater in 2008, full of ladies ready to swoon and a few drag-along audience members on an obligatory date night. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson proceed to bring to life the Young Adult novel with the famous apple on the cover. The fact that the vampires never sleep and sparkle in the sunlight may have had you rolling your eyes but nevertheless, you are in for a treat on this episode! Andrea and Melissa did a re-watch and AWKWARDNESS ENSUED. Join us on this nostalgic ride through the forest!!
"Whoa, wait, you're having a party on a Wednesday? On a school night?" - Bianca Piper Designated Ugly Fat Friend......a DUFF, if you will. This teen movie took the wingman concept and spun a new definition to help label the insecurity monster we all have had to face in one way or another. While Mae Whitman is hardly ugly or fat, she has the sarcasm delivery the role of Bianca Piper needs. This movie came out in 2015 and one of your hosts had never seen it. Join Andrea and Melissa on this fun episode! We hope you have a great time laughing with us.
Scream 1996 was our 3rd episode EVER!!! If you haven't heard it, or just want to re-live the fun we are re-releasing it while we work on a new SPOOOOOKY HALLOWEEN episode for you! And remember.... "Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!"
"I didn't ask for this role, but I'll play it. Now go do your best. Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid. Goethe said that. It's not too late for you to become a person of substance, Russell. Please get my son home safely. You know, I'm glad we spoke." - Elaine Miller Anybody else miss concerts? Summer seems to bring the itch for live music, good friends, and warm air touching your skin. We've been through a long year of concerts being on hiatus due to the pandemic. Almost Famous is a perfect movie to rekindle the love of live music. Many of us have forgotten what it was like when we were teenagers and the bands we loved just seemed to speak directly to our souls. This movie is full of amazing actors, great music, heartfelt moments, and perfect touches of humor. If you haven't seen it in awhile, or are just missing the summer concerts that made your youth worth remembering, listen in on this episode!
"Witches in days gone by were roasted just like my Vienna sausage." - Heather Donahue If we told you for every $1 you invest in a movie, you will make $10, 931 - would you support that project? Hell, yes!! Unfortunately, Andrea and Melissa do not have an opportunity like that to offer. Back in 1999, the creators of The Blair Witch Project didn't have an offer like that to make either. But as time would tell, the idea for an extremely low-budget, improv-style, found footage movie paired with the first truly viral marketing campaign would land this film in the Guiness Book of World Records for "Top Budget: Box Office Ratio." Andrea and Melissa were around for the 1999 release of The Blair Witch Project and saw it together in the theater. It turned out to be just as satisfying to rewatch it now through the lens of everything we know about the facts and fiction surrounding this movie. Regardless of what your familiarity with the Blair Witch, you will never look at little dolls made from sticks in the woods the same again....
"I lost my virginity in what I thought was a park but... it turned out to be a graveyard, and now the ghost spirits live inside my eggs waiting to be reborn." Gigi Cramming all the fun you should have had in high school into one night might be possible. In Olivia Wilde's Booksmart, Amy and Molly dare to make it happen. Finding out that your classmates are delightfully weird, genuinely clever, sometimes lonely, and definitely more human than you took them for, is a side-effect of trying to make up for lost time discovering the people you will graduate with. This comedy had hits and misses for Andrea and Melissa. It was, without a doubt, a fun movie to celebrate graduations everywhere after the strangest school year in recent history. Have a few laughs with us during this episode!!
"You could park a car in the shadow of his ass." - Thelma Sometimes a story ends up being EPIC. We throw that word around a lot, now. Make no mistake about it, 1991's Thelma & Louise is truly an epic story. Andrea and Melissa were only 12 years old when Ridley Scott directed this movie. It was no surprise that this story was above their heads, at the time. It was truly exciting to revisit this movie with the eyes of grown women. Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon are exquisite in this. Brad Pitt isn't so bad, either. Get ready for your summer road trip to the wild west! This will get you in the mood for summer, best friends, convertible cars, and bittersweet bonds that last to the end!
"A toast... to us, to our last summer of immature, adolescent decadence." - Barry Cox Once upon a time, there was a golden age of teen horror movies. That time was the late 1990s. Sadly, they weren't all as brilliant as Kevin Williamson's Scream. Sometimes, we see success and say...."so, what else have you got?" Mr. Williamson had a script that was once rejected. Based on a teen novel by Lois Duncan, the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer was born. This movie had all the A-list hollywood youths to splash across its marketing. Add to that, some urban legend, a coastal fishing town, beauty pageantry, parade floats, and a "killer hook" and you've got yourself a fun slasher flick. Revisit this creepy Independence Day movie with Andrea and Melissa for some much-needed laughter!
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." - Ferris Bueller Nothing says spring like a long-awaited day of perfect weather in Chicago. We could all use a day of leisure (taking a note from the king himself, Mr. Bueller) after this wild ride that has been 2020-21. Andrea and Melissa recorded this bonus episode pre-Covid19 and we would love to go back in time and reminisce about mask-free days of Spring. Joins us on the best nostalgia trip, yet!
"My advice is to sleep with as many people as possible." - Kathryn Merteuil The teen movie that came with SO MUCH SCANDALOUS HYPE. It was the kiss we were all talking about in 1999. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair made spittle cool. Cruel Intentions was the modern-day Dangerous Liaisons we didn't know we needed. Drenched in opulence, hormones, and tons of style, this film took the 90s teen movie wave to a new level. If you haven't seen this one in awhile, take a trip to New York with Andrea and Melissa to revisit all the teenagers we never had enough money to hang with. https://linktr.ee/14goingon40
"But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all." - Kat Stratford Most of us had to study some Shakespeare in school. In 1999, it was cool to know a few of William's stories. The Taming of the Shrew is not one that Andrea and Melissa have ever had the chance to read, but it's all good because 10 Things I Hate About You came along and gave us the gist! This movie was all the feminist rage as we approached the millenium, but does it stand the test of time? Have fun re-visiting 10 Things with us and find out!
Andrea and Melissa had so much fun recording this episode and the recurring joke of their fictional band "Ominous Wind" has been referenced in so many episodes! Enjoy this re-release of Final Destination while we watch more movies for upcoming episodes!"How do we know that just by sitting here - by, by sipping this coffee, or breathing the air, or even crossing the intersection - that we haven't even started in motion the events that will some day lead to our death: forty years from now, ten years from now, tomorrow. We don't. Unless we open ourselves up..." - Alex BrowningFor many of us, Final Destination brought us a whole new look at death in more ways than one. This horror franchise started with this film in 2000 and has become a guilty pleasure for Andrea and Melissa. We revisited Final Destination and watched it more closely than ever before. The death scenes in Final Destination give us serious Rube Goldberg vibes and are worthy of a conversation! If you haven't seen this one in awhile, it may be time to treat yourself. In the meantime, give this episode a listen and laugh with us!
"Throwing a party it's like... it's like an invitation for abuse. It's like the last desperate act of someone who hasn't had a lasting relationship since Junior High." - Monica Sooooooooooooo.........New Year's Eve was very different this year. Covid19 has parties squashed, but that is no reason you couldn't find a way to ring in 2021 with some fun! Andrea and Melissa joined this virtual NYE set in the 80s ,by digging out the well-loved DVD - 200 Cigarettes. Through recording this episode, we discovered that this movie has become a rare vintage gem! 200 Cigarettes is not streaming or On Demand, but you can go old school and buy the DVD on eBay for a pretty penny. The cast in this movie had us laughing out loud and reminiscing about the early careers of SO MANY STARS! What a great way to virtually party and get our New Year's Eve positive vibes. Think of this as going to a party without all the B. S. of going to a party *said in a NY accent*.
"I don't care whether you like me or not!" - Meredith Morton Dysfunctional families. We've all got experience with them. Holidays are usually the best catalyst to amplify those dysfunctions. Add a new person/guest into the mix, and you have a recipe for lots of antics to ensue. For this episode, Melissa introduced Andrea to The Family Stone from 2005. There are some pretty big name actors in this cast but the movie was under the radar for both your hosts. The holiday season may be coming to a close, but family embarrassment has no calendar! Have fun listening to this episode!
We are so happy that we got to record this episode with our good friends at the Inside you with Bill and the Raptor podcast. This year has be absolutely BANANAS, but the best thing to come out of it is our connection with Bill and Raptor. After this, we will be back to watching movies. For this episode, enjoy a great conversation among friends. Stay safe and healthy and Happy Holidays!
"It was real, wasn't it? You and me. Such a long time ago, we were just a couple of kids. But we really loved each other, didn't we?" - Allie Hamilton One of us saw this movie, one of us didn't. We both watched The Notebook for this episode and we have THING TO SAY. Join Andrea and Melissa as they try to get into Nicholas Sparks' summer romance that was all the rage in 2004. Did their hearts flutter in all their sappy glory, or did this experience feel like maybe your hosts have a gaping hole in their romance DNA? Enjoy finding out and let us know your thoughts on all the social media.
We are grateful for our listeners! Andrea and Melissa get together to compare lists of movies to watch over Thanksgiving weekend. Get your binge-pants on, because you are going to want to cue up all of these classics! From dysfunctional families to Christmas favorites, you have to check these out. Find the complete list on www.14goingon40pod.wixsite.com
"Sounds razor." - Rachel Wagner Sorry, Mr. Rosenberg, STOP torturing poor Katie Holmes with this nonsense. "Razor" never took as new teen slang and didn't sound nearly as clever as it may have looked on paper. Back in 1998, the film Disturbing Behavior brought Stepford Wives to high school? Yep. You remember. The grunge kids versus the preppies meets mind-altering brain treatments by a misguided doctor. Andrea and Melissa revisit this addition to 90s teen horror for some laughs during this episode. Join in on the fun and catch some tunes from all the movies we've covered, including Disturbing Behavior on this playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1M5PxzJNXSSQL3Y42vpmwC
"Playing football at West Canaan may have been the opportunity of your lifetime, but I don't want your life!" - Mox If you didn't just read the end of this quote in James Van Der Beek's southern accent circa 1999, we don't know how to help you. For this episode, Andrea and Melissa ruminate on high school football and its highs and lows through the vehicle of VARSITY BLUES. That's right, Dawson's Creek fans, this is your moment! We have so much fun talking about this movie, you might say it had whipped cream and a cherry on top....Check out this playlist on Spotify - 14 Going on 40 Jams https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1M5PxzJNXSSQL3Y42vpmwC
Here is a quick recap of all our SPOOKIEST episode content to get you in the Halloween spirit!!!!Find our Saw movie crossover episode here: https://www.spreaker.com/episode/33256542
"Oh. Miss Tate. I didn't mean to make you jump. It's Halloween. I guess everyone's entitled to one good scare." - Norma Watson IT'S THE BEST TIME OF YEAR!!!!! That's right, it's spooky Halloween season and we are HERE FOR IT. What better way for Andrea and Melissa to get in the spirit than with 1998's Halloween H20. Jamie Lee Curtis comes back to the Halloween franchise for another go around as Laurie Strode. This movie has nostalgia for the 90s, Halloween '78, and Hitchcock's Psycho. We can't wait for you to listen to this episode!
"Discovering the object of the game *is* the object of the game." - Daniel Schorr Have you ever wished to be fully immersed in a real-life game full of adventure? This episode's movie might have you thinking twice. In 1997, David Fincher directed The Game, a psychological thriller that had us on the edge of our seats. Though Mr. Fincher has said it is not his best work, Andrea and Melissa decided to give it a whirl for the show. Join them as they follow Michael Douglas through The Game!
"Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80's movies?" - Olive Penderghast Andrea and Melissa remember reading Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter in high school and *spoiler*, they didn't love it. However, Easy A from 2010, was MUCH more enjoyable! This movie made for such a good episode. Emma Stone's character is a comedic gem that makes this movie worth putting in your rotation of feel-good films. You don't have to embroider a red A on your sweater, just sit back and laugh along with us as we re-visit Easy A.
"I'm sorry that people are so jealous of me... but I can't help it that I'm popular." - Gretchen Wieners Saddle up for an episode filled with hilarity this week! Andrea and Melissa did everyone a favor and re-watched 2004's Mean Girls. This movie is truly deserving of all the hype, reputation, and classic status it has earned. We can't wait for you to sit at our lunch table and revel in the glory of Regina George and the Plastics.
"How about the gourmet here, you know what he wanted? Hotdogs! You know what they make those things out of, Chet? You know? Lips and assholes!" - Roman Craig This summer, Andrea and Melissa went on a fun, old-fashioned, family vacation together. What better way to celebrate than watching The Great Outdoors from 1988! This one was made before your co-hosts met, so it qualifies as a bonus episode! We hope you have as much fun with this nostalgic family flick as we did!
"Mess with the best, die like the rest."- Dade Murphy Back in 1995, computer nerds got to be in the spotlight and finally feel cool. The movie, Hackers, took the would-be computer programmer and mashed it together with a bunch of trendy teen stars with a dash of rave culture. Andrea and Melissa had a great time rewinding to a time when the internet was still mostly an abstract concept for most of us. Enjoy!
"You see how picky I am about my shoes and they only go on my feet." - Cher HorowitzWhat can we possibly say about the timeless classic Clueless from 1995? PLENTY. This episode is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Amy Heckerling's work that elevated a generation of teen movies. From the lovable characters, signature fashion, amazing acting, and prolific vocabulary, Clueless has left an impression of every 90s teen. Treat yourself to a fun romp through Beverly Hills with Andrea and Melissa in this episode!
"High school star, never quite lived up to your potential. Sooner or later you all come back to your old school, stand there and look at the picture of the glory days wondering "What might have been." Seems to me you guys are living in the past." - JanitorNo matter what your answer to the age-old question of "would you go back to being 17 again" - we've all thought about it. This movie is not original in concept, but 2009's 17 Again was still a worthwhile revisit. Zach Efron and Matthew Perry take us on a fun romp through a sort of time travel/ body switching experience. It may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but Andrea and Melissa have some thoughts on the whole concept. If you need a good dose of nostalgia, have a listen to this hilarious episode!
"Oh wow. This bra will be the death of your vagina." - Kiki.2016 brought us the comedy Bad Moms, and for this we are truly grateful. From brute honesty about motherhood to over-the-top PTA antics, Bad Moms had Andrea and Melissa laughing all over again!!! Martha Stewart's cameo was truly inspired, and the comedy chemistry between Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn is spot on. This movie is pure fun and this episode was a blast to record.
"Am I a bet? Am I a FUCKING BET?" - Laney Boggs. Perhaps one of the most effective f-bombs ever uttered in a teen movie. For this episode, we watched She's All That from 1999. Even more exciting, Andrea and Melissa were joined by fellow podcasters from the show Inside You with Bill and Raptor. The edition of another best friend duo was a wise choice indeed. Get ready to laugh out loud more than once!
So we ran our first half-marathon together. That's right, Andrea and Melissa did, in fact, do this. It was quite the achievement, and made more exciting and doable because we did it together. We broke our usual routine of re-watching a movie and instead, we enjoyed Brittany Runs A Marathon for this episode. This movie was a delight and brought back sweet memories of our own race newbie experience.
"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."-Peter GibbonsRemember when the world was in Y2K panic? Everyone thought our computer systems would implode when the calendar switched from 1999 to 2000! Well, we all know how that turned out. In the movie Office Space, we get to follow the life of some dudes in cubicle hell at Initech Corporation. When Peter decides he is not going to take any more nonsense at work, the real comedy ensues. It's been quite awhile since Andrea and Melissa have watched this gem of a movie. We had a great time relating to the characters in Office Space! Give this episode a listen (no flair required).
We have BIG NEWS!https://www.facebook.com/goldstaryo/https://www.instagram.com/goldstarmediaboom/14goingon40pod@gmail.com
"We're going streaking!" - FrankIn 2003's Old School, a group of friends decide to literally re-live college without the education element. In theory, this looks like an attractive idea in some aspects. In reality, trying to jump full-tilt into partying like a 20-year-old while still maintaining the responsibilities of work and family, is probably a lot more exhausting than it's worth! Andrea and Melissa haven't seen this one in FOREVER and re-watching it ended up being a little disappointing. But re-living some memories of their time in college makes up for it!!! Have some fun re-visiting Old School in this episode and then decide if you are ready for a re-watch!
"I don't believe we've met, what with the cruel politics of high school and all." - Courtney . The premise of this dark high school comedy is one that Andrea and Melissa are TOTALLY into! Accidental murder, a sordid cover-up, mean girls, an underdog, and over-the-top fashion: this film has it all!! Taking more than one page from Heathers (1989), Jawbreaker tries to hit the same twisted mark with only so much success. The overall visual appeal of this movie instantly had us drawn back in to this viewing. Rose McGowan is mesmerizing as Courtney and the rest of the cast fill in the exaggerated aesthetic of this comedy thriller. Grab your favorite candy and listen to this episode!
"If we're gonna be the best, we have to have the best. Missy's the poo, so take a big whiff! - Torrance ShipmanTwo words: Guilty. Pleasure. You got that right! Bring It On may not be at the level of sophistication of Netflix's Cheer documentary, but it has earned its place in cheerleader movie history. Full of snarky humor and quotable quotes, Bring It On is a fun romp in the sometimes strange world of cheer-leading. Andrea knows this movie by heart, but Melissa hasn't seen it for quite awhile. Lots of fun was had re-watching this movie! We dare you to resist finishing this line: "I said BRRRR, it's cold in here......"
"You sure you're only fourteen?" - Nick EliotRounding out obsessive love movies, for this episode, we watched The Crush (1993). This is Alicia Silverstone's first leading movie role. And much like Mark Whalberg in Fear, she plays an excellent villain. When Andrea and Melissa saw this movie, they were the same age as the main character Darian Forrester. Cary Elwes is the object of her obsession and what he feels is harmless flirting, quickly escalates to thriller-movie worthy behavior! You may never look at rollerblades as innocently again!!!
"The big deal, Laura, is that the guy gives me the creeps, and the girl is my daughter." - Steve WalkerThis episode might be a first... This viewing of a cult classic from 1996, was looked at through completely different eyes than when Andrea and Melissa were 17! Fear was a quintessential thriller for every teen girl, back in the day. Touted as the "Fatal Attraction for teens", this movie is nowhere near the caliber of that Oscar-nominated film icon. However, it surprisingly holds its own as a thriller that took a risk with its leading villain. Mark Wahlberg and Reese Witherspoon have undeniable chemistry and still held our attention 24 years later. Now that we have Valentine's Day behind us, this is the perfect time to supplement your binge-watching of psycho-stalker dramas (*cough cough* Netflix YOU). The character of David McCall is one we fear from multiple perspectives. Hang with us for this episode as we look at Fear in a whole new light.
"How do we know that just by sitting here - by, by sipping this coffee, or breathing the air, or even crossing the intersection - that we haven't even started in motion the events that will some day lead to our death: forty years from now, ten years from now, tomorrow. If you have't seen this one in awhile, it may be time to treat yourself. In the meantime, give this episode a listen and laugh with us!
"That thing, that moment, when you kiss someone and everything around becomes hazy and the only thing in focus is you and this person and you realize that that person is the only person that you're supposed to kiss for the rest of your life, and for one moment you get this amazing gift and you want to laugh and you want to cry because you feel so lucky that you found it and so scared that that it will go away all at the same time." - Josie Geller.Never Been Kissed is a movie that hit Andrea and Melissa right in the FEELS. This story is one we have all played in our minds.... What if you could go back to high school with all the knowledge you have now? Would you be confident? Could you crack the code to popularity? Drew Barrymore is lovable and relatable on so many levels as Josie Geller. Her charm and comedic timing in this role gave us so much to talk about! We definitely think Never Been Kissed is worth of a "girl's night in" with friends or on your own. Or just listen to this episode - it's basically a girl's night delivered right through your headphones!
""We mustn't dwell... no, not today. We CAN'T. Not on Rex Manning day." - MarkIf you haven't seen this cult classic, you are missing out!!!!! Empire Records is the after school job we all need in our life. Melissa and Andrea revisit this 1995 day in the life of motley crew of record store employees as they host a b-list music celebrity and face the impending doom of corporate takeover of their home away from home. When watching this movie, one takes in the epitome of 90's fashion genres, as well as, a soundtrack that inherently makes you feel cooler. Maybe we never got to work at a record store, but we can only hope to experience the camaraderie that retail service brings to our souls at least once in our lifetime. Damn the man, save the Empire!!!!!
"See when a girl decides that you're her friend, you're no longer a dating option. You become this complete non-sexual entity in her eyes, like her brother, or a lamp." Happy Holidays, friends! Join Andrea and Melissa as they chat about Just Friends, a modern Christmas comedy. This movie is so much fun and absolutely worth revisiting! Ryan Reynolds, Amy Smart, and Anna Faris are the much needed comedic relief we all could use around the craziest time of year!
"Nobody drink the beer, the beer has gone bad!" Andrea and Melissa re-visited Can't Hardly Wait for this episode. This movie takes place on the last party after graduation. Maybe we can all remember having that strong crush that makes you obsessive like Preston. Or maybe we have that blunt, loyal, sarcastic friend like Denise. Perhaps there is a Kenny, William, or even a Mike Dexter in your high school memories. This movie is fun and has all the nostalgic memories of the late 90s. From the fashion to the soundtrack, this movie is a fun throwback to Andrea and Melissa's second year of college. Have a listen and get taken back to the wildest party of the year!!!
"You look so good with blond hair and black roots its like not even funny." It wasn't long ago that Andrea and Melissa attended a High School Reunion together. It was an experience a bit less eventful than Romy and Michele's. This was a tried and true favorite for both of us and we had a great time revisiting Sagebrush High! Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow prove to be wonderfully funny and endearing. Have a listen to some of the hilarious memories Andrea and Melissa share on this episode!
"Nice people don't live life. I don't wanna go through all my days being all sweet and polite and then realize, when I'm 80, that I'm just some nice dead person." - DerrickSooooooooo........ Andrea and Melissa are totally OK with being nice people. Sorry, Derrick. This episode is a first for us in that we both DID NOT like the movie! However, Gossip is ripe with amazing 90s fashion nostalgia. We had a lot of fun talking about some of the forgotten trends from the turn of the century. It was also fun to compare this fictional college experience to our own. Kate Hudson is just a baby in this role and nearly dropped it for the movie Almost Famous the same year. Turns out she worked it in, and you can decide if that was a good or bad thing :-)Take a quick romp through the movie Gossip with us for a few laughs and find us on social media to get in the conversation about it:Facebook page 14 Going On 40 PodcastInstagram page @14GoingOn40Pod
"There are certain RULES that one must abide by in order to successfully survive a horror movie."Happy Halloween!!! Scream is an all-time favorite for Andrea and Melissa. Join us on this episode as we talk about Scream and how it has held up since our Senior year of High School! This is a perfect episode to get you in the Halloween spirit and take a look at a modern horror classic. This slasher flick changed audiences expectations of slasher movies in the late 1990s and we still look at it as a game changer today. This episode is un-apologetically long because Scream deserved a few personal scary stories in addition to general laughter, nostalgia, and fun.
So, if you ever just want to hang out and chant or call the corners...This week, Andrea and Melissa watch The Craft. This movie came out in 1996 and hits all our 90s goth-girl vibes!! Check out our fresh take on these teen witches and find out if we would recommend this movie to teens today.

All right, all right, all right...Join Andrea and Melissa as they revisit the movie Dazed and Confused. This movie came out in 1993; the year Andrea and Melissa met!! We will take a look at the cast of eclectic characters in this movie and see if we still find them relatable today. This is our first attempt at recording an episode, so the sound quality needs some work. Bear with it because there are some real comedic gems of wisdom in this episode! Join us on Facebook and Instagram to hang out and participate in the conversation about Dazed and Confused. We will also be posting info on future episodes! Thanks for listening :-)
