    Ivy Insights

The Bourbon Pursuit podcast is a must-listen for anyone with even the slightest interest in bourbon. The content is always entertaining and informative, providing listeners with a deep dive into all aspects of bourbon. Whether it's exploring the history, methods, brands, or people behind bourbon, there is always something new and interesting to learn. From long-format episodes that cover specific topics like yeast to quick reviews of new bottles, the podcast offers a diverse range of content that caters to all bourbon enthusiasts. Even though I no longer have a commute, I still make time to listen to this podcast because it consistently delivers great content.

One of the best aspects of The Bourbon Pursuit podcast is the wealth of knowledge and expertise shared by the hosts Kenny and Ryan. They bring on guests from the industry, including master distillers, brand ambassadors, tasters, and others in the whiskey world who provide valuable insights into the bourbon industry. The conversations are thoughtful and engaging, making it easy to immerse yourself in the world of bourbon. Additionally, Fred Minnick's "Above the Char" segments are enlightening and add another layer of expertise to the podcast.

Another great aspect is their Patreon membership program which includes a barrel pick program. As a member, you not only get exclusive perks but also have access to even more amazing content related to bourbon.

While there aren't many negative aspects to this podcast overall, one thing worth mentioning is that some may find it overwhelming if they are new to bourbon or don't have much prior knowledge about it. The discussions can sometimes be technical or assume a certain level of familiarity with bourbon terminology. However, this can be easily overcome by starting with their "Bourbon 101" episodes or using their extensive backlog to catch up on any missed information.

In conclusion, The Bourbon Pursuit podcast is an excellent resource for both seasoned bourbon lovers and those just beginning their journey into this fascinating world. With its entertaining and informative content, knowledgeable hosts, and a wide range of topics covered, it is undeniably one of the best podcasts out there for bourbon enthusiasts. I highly recommend giving it a listen and joining their community of whiskey lovers.

We've spent the last twelve months talking about everything from the construction chaos downtown to the nitty-gritty of brand building, but today it's time to look at the scoreboard. We're reflecting on 2025—a year that was easily our most ambitious to date. Ryan and I sit down to get real about whether we actually hit those aggressive case goals we set last January and what the financial health of the business looks like after a year of heavy reinvestment. We've expanded the team and pushed the envelope on product development, but as any founder will tell you, growth usually comes with a side of growing pains. The conversation gets into the weeds of our newest releases and innovations, but we also take a step back to look at the bigger picture. We talk about the reality of market expansion in a crowded landscape and share some personal reflections on the career shifts that have happened within our own walls. This time last year, we had a vision of where Pursuit Spirits would be by December—today, we find out if we actually made it there, or if the industry had other plans for us.Show Notes: Introduction and Year in Review Case Goals and Financial Insights Team Growth and Management Challenges Product Development and Innovations Future Goals and Market Expansion Personal Reflections and Career Changes Learn more about your ad choices.
