The podcast will be coming back in a slightly different form, so stay tuned and ensure you are subscribed, so you don't miss it. Kristina Brummer and I introduce our Grow Mastermind for Women Entrepreneurs. If you are a business owner and a women we hope you listen in to learn more about us and this special program that we will be facilitating. Spaces are limited to ten participants, plus the two of us. Doors close on February 16, but we believe the spots will fill quickly, so sign up soon. This recording came about after a pause in recordings at the end of the year, it started off as a conversation with my friend, collaborator, and co-host, Kristina Brummer, and it became one of my most favorite episodes that have been recorded. Kristina must have sensed that it would be special, and she told me to hit record during our conversation. What if we used these winter months to call forward what we want? To not go blazing into the year like a lean, mean action machine? As my husband likes to say, mornings are for coffee and contemplation (thank you, Stranger Things). January should be our contemplative month. We talk about grief, process, growth, and acknowledging that we want some new things. We are not going to should all over ourselves with resolutions, but we will proclaim what we want with our reflection and intentions. Our conversation today is all about what our calling cards are and what they say to those around us. would the modern-day equivalent of your calling card be? Do you have an activity or tool that always brings you back to feeling aligned? That works so well in helping you to learn more about who you are, what you do, and why you love the things you love? You may call it self care, but what about calling it soul care? Heather has experienced a Soul Map Human Design reading from Stacy and if you visit her website you can find out more about scheduling your own.During episode 21 of The Creative Pivot podcast you were first introduced to Stacy and her story of a career in education, moving to administration and back again to teaching, her experience in writing her book on reproductive rights, her experience as a teen mom not feeling a choice was hers to make, and her Aunt's story with having her reproductive rights stolen from her. This is such an important part of Stacy's story so I hope you go back and listen to that episode if you have not already. You can find it here.Stacy Cordova is a veteran teacher and lifelong learner, and exploring the world of Human Design has been a game changer for her. People-pleasing is the strong urge to please others even when they may be putting their own needs at risk. People-pleasers may have the tendency to take on responsibilities that are not asked of them. These actions can lead to higher levels of burnout as both an employee and an entrepreneur. On this week's episode in the Growing Your Heart Centered Business Special Series, Kristina and Heather discuss their own patterns of people pleasing and ways that you can recognize when you slip into a people-pleasing role. What if your journey to self-care led you to your dream career? That is what happened to my guest Amanda Ferrat, Advanced EFT Practitioner. What started off as a somewhat toxic relationship with self-care led her to discover the tool that became her self-care tool of choice, and now she helps others through the practice of EFT and wellness counseling. Amanda Ferrat, founder of Value Yourself Counseling, is a certified Advanced EFT Practitioner and emotional wellness counselor that uses her compassion, empathy, intuition, and skills to help women break barriers and limitations to build new thought patterns and beliefs that allow them to embody their inner Badass and obtain emotional freedom. She pursued her entrepreneurial path after a long and complicated journey with grief, trauma, and physical and mental health struggles. Because her healing journey has not been easy, Amanda actively works to create a world where it is safe to be your authentic self 100% of the time. When not helping others, Amanda loves to spend time adventuring along the Oregon Coast with her dog Ludo, snuggle with her cat Esme, or add to her collections of crystals and craft supplies.Website- http://valueyourselfcounseling.comSchedule a Badass Breakthrough Session- https://vycscheduling.as.me/badassbreakthruInstagram and TikTok handles- @valueyourselfcounselingFacebook Group-https://www.facebook.com/groups/552924045653264Ready to make your own creative pivot, reach out to work with Heather.Schedule a free introductory call with me.Visit http://thecreativepivot.comIG: @thecreativepivotFB: @thecreativepivotIN: https://www.linkedin.com/in/heatherbjohnston/Host: Heather Johnston - Life, Career, & Business Transition CoachGuest: Amanda Ferrat - Advanced EFT Practitioner

We hit record once we realized that it was a perfect conversation for all of the heart-centered leaders and entrepreneurs. We all approach midlife from different perspectives. We might be drifting through life putting our hopes and dreams on hold.Flowing towards new beginnings, a chance to change careers, make a move, or start a new business, but we don't yet know how to make that happen, we just have faith that we are headed in the right direction.Or are you paddling? You know what you want, you are pretty sure you know how to get it, but you need some assistance in getting out of your own way. This week we talk about those three different phases of heading into midlife. Where are you in this analogy and where do you want to go? I am taking new 1-on-1 coaching clients starting soon. Visit me at thecreativepivot.com and schedule our free consult call. Host: Heather JohnstonGuest: Darcy LeeThis episode speaks to the importance of injecting your heart into everything you do. Your heart is connected to your purpose, having a purpose will lead to a successful business. Lack of heart or purpose for your work can lead to higher levels of burnout and overwhelm. Lesson for pivoters, always do your purpose driven work, fall in love with the work you are doing, feel the connection of your work to the community around you.Make sure you subscribe to the podcast, leave us a review, and share with your friends.I would love to help you on your creative pivot journey, what idea keeps waking you up at night and you just don't know where to start? Visit thecreativepivot.com and schedule a free call to learn about my work as a business coach and consultant.Darcy's Bio:My name is Darcy Lee, I am the owner of the online greeting card shop, Hail the Snail Mail. I also have a subscription that sends 4 greeting cards and a gift curated by me each month. I owned a brick and mortar store for 20 years in San Francisco, when I closed it was clear that what was missed the most was the cards section. By committing myself and pivoting into this niche I have learned the value of writing via pen and paper. This pivot has been a gift that I never expected. There are many benefits from sending mail the old fashioned way, time away from screens and sounds, creative connection with loved ones, a reason to write on beautiful paper and the magic of placing a stamp on an envelope and knowing someone will read your words in a few days. hailthesnailmail.com IG: @hailthesnailmail.com

Our guest this week is Kristi Floersch. Kristi has a heart of compassion for people who are anxious, overloaded, overwhelmed, depressed, disinterested, fatigued, bored and spiritless. She understands and deeply cares because she has been through these same debilitating feelings, much of which stem from how she spent her time. She has experienced anxiety from trying to please everyone in her life and depression from not allowing time for herself. Before she wrote "It's Time Flourish Now" Kristi set out on a journey to investigate what is the best possible use of time. Interestingly enough, there are plenty of books on how to budget and invest money, but very few if any, on how to budget and invest time. Along the way she discovered a way tool she calls the "Test of Time" that clarifies what to do with time so you can live a life of meaning, purpose and fulfillment. The name Kristi means "Believer in Christ" and you will find her work to incredibly inspirational, motivational and filled with hope. Together my husband and I have 12 beautiful grandchildren. Our lives are full to say the least!!My husband has recently left his job and started his own business all while I have started my own business too. We decided that we were tired of seeing someone else benefit from our hard work and tired of working endless hours to feel unaccomplished. On this episode of The Creative Pivot Podcast I am talking about how to use journaling as a tool for banishing burnout. This episode is for every woman going through burnout no matter what stage you are at and I don't want to hear that you don't like to write or that you're not good at journaling. I want you to give it a try so that you can get some of the stress that has been sitting in your body out because that stress is related to your thoughts and your emotions and the things that you don't always want to process. If you can get it out by journaling you often can reevaluate that stress from a more neutral standpoint. Interested in making a life or career change of your own? Cathy King is The Sustainable Organizer, a professional organizer who serves women who are overwhelmed by their stuff. In addition to being a NAPO trained professional organizer she holds an MBA in Sustainability from Northeastern University. She was born and raised in New England and has a passion for problem solving, health & wellbeing, gardening and certainly organizing. She is the holistic reset button for women who are overwhelmed by clutter. As Cathy says, "Most people see organizing as cleaning up clutter, but the clutter is only created because of the holes in the other areas of our lives. There's clutter because we're going 100 mph and just can't seem to slow down long enough to figure things out. When there's a process wrapped around our day-in and day-out living, we don't build clutter. Or when it does start creeping in, we see it and know how to stop and assess our processes. I'll help you create sustainable processes to eliminate the clutter and be your compassionate (but effective) accountability partner. I give women the grace to face their clutter and the sustainable processes to enjoy their lives with it."www.thesustainableorganizer.comhttps://www.facebook.com/thesustainableorganizerhttps://www.instagram.com/thesustainableorganizer/Hi there! Oswald and I met as many do these days online. We were both fans of Don't Keep Your Day Job, and took on the challenge of the Made To Do This 12 week course in early 2020.Oswald has grown so much as a person and as a writer this year, stepping out of his comfort zone and taking on this challenging year, we discuss his emotional journey.Today, October 27, he is releasing his e-book called, A Poetic Journey, Staying at Home, that documents this journey. His poetry touches on how Covid has impacted his life this year, as well as his life with Cerebral Palsy, and memories from his childhood. His new website, Oswald Perez.com has launched and you can purchase a copy of his e-book in his store. This is a bonus episode of The Creative Pivot, because as I am sure you have guessed, Oswald is neither in midlife or a woman, but he is a great example of someone that is choosing his own path in life, forging a new way of looking at the world, and working on fighting through those limiting beliefs that keep us small. It's time to meet Oswald.http://www.oswaldperez.comIG: @oswaldperez85

I'm Heather Bea, or at least that's what I secretly loved to be called when I was younger, you can also call me Heather Johnston, and I am the host and creator of The Creative Pivot. The Creative Pivot is all embracing your 40s, 50s, and beyond. Not waiting for retirement to live out your dream life. To make midlife amazing! And OMG it is my turn to tell you my story. This is about me looking at the journey of a young girl who dreamed of being an architect, but later found that as a coach I am able to help people feel more at home. It was an interesting journey to become a Life and Career Coach. But here I am. This is the last episode of Season 1. This is episode 19 and we are nearing the end of season. My guest is Mollie Macarthy-Openshaw, the founder of Mood Swing Wines and Camp Midlife. Mollie is a coach, inspirational speaker, encourager of everyone she meets, and is making the most of her life. From a career as a nurse, raising kids, divorce, creating her own wine label, being the star of a reality show, taking on TikTok, taking midlife ladies back to camp, and hosting self-love retreats.I met Mollie, where everyone meets these days, on Instagram. I fell in love with her sense of humor and then saw her heart. I can't wait for you to be inspired by Mollie.https://www.moodswingwines.com/https://campmidlife.com/Instagram: @molliemopenshawFor more information on The Creative Pivot follow us on IG @thecreativepivot
