The Pulse of Israel
Why a Leading Pro-Israel Congressman Wants to End Foreign Aid to Israel

The Pulse of Israel

Should the United States end foreign aid to Israel? In this powerful Pulse of Israel interview, Congressman Stutzman explains why he has introduced a groundbreaking resolution in Congress to phase out U.S. foreign aid to Israel and replace it with a new model based on trade, strategic partnership, joint development projects, and mutual national interests. For decades, the U.S.-Israel relationship has been framed around aid packages. Congressman Stutzman argues that it is time to move beyond the outdated donor-recipient model and strengthen the alliance as a true partnership between two sovereign nations. Instead of foreign aid, he proposes expanding economic cooperation, technological innovation, defense collaboration, and bilateral investment that benefits both Americans and Israelis. This interview is especially significant because the idea did not emerge overnight. More than a year ago, Avi Abelow as part of our Yes! Israel project, together with Israeli Knesset Member Amit Halevi, began presenting the "Aid to Trade" concept in meetings with members of Congress and U.S. Senators in Washington DC. The goal was simple: strengthen the U.S.-Israel strategic alliance while removing the stigma that Israel is dependent on American handouts.Congressman Stutzman has also participated in Yes! Israel Project missions to Israel, where he witnessed firsthand the security challenges facing the Jewish state and the importance of a strong U.S.-Israel partnership based on shared values and common interests.Topics discussed include:• Ending U.S. foreign aid to Israel• The future of the U.S.-Israel alliance• Aid-to-trade proposals• Strategic cooperation between America and Israel• Defense and technology partnerships• Congressional support for Israel• Israel's economic and military strength• Middle East security challenges• Conservative foreign policy perspectivesWhat do you think? Turkey warns against drawing Iran's Kurds into Middle East war

International report

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 15, 2026 6:18

The Turkish government is warning the United States and Israel against involving Iran's Kurdish minority in the war against the Iranian regime. Home to millions of Kurds, Turkey fears any such move could destabilise its ongoing peace process with Kurdish militants calling for an autonomous state. Concentrated in north-western Iran along the borders with Turkey and Iraq, Kurds are estimated to make up 8 to 17 percent of Iran's population.  As the war in the Middle East continues, several international news agencies reported talks between US officials and armed Iranian Kurdish groups. Seeking to assuage Turkish concerns, President Donald Trump last weekend ruled out such a move. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan welcomed Washington's assurances, but warned the threat remained. "Israel's intentions on this matter are no secret," he told reporters. "Israel has for years used Kurdish groups in the region as a proxy." Home to a large Kurdish minority, Turkey has fought a bitter war for decades against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is designated by Washington and the European Union as a terrorist organisation. Last year the PKK ended its armed struggle and committed to disbanding in a peace agreement with Turkey, but its affiliates in Syria and Iran are not part of this process – a distinction that keeps Ankara wary. "The Syrian branch of the PKK gave Turkey a hard time. Just as an autonomous zone within Syria was unacceptable, a PKK affiliate running the Iranian Kurdistan would be unacceptable – that's basically the state's position," explains Turkish international relations expert Soli Ozel. "They don't want a Kurdish independent state or an autonomous state anywhere in the region, because they think that it would contaminate [other Kurdish populations]." Turkey looks for regional help in its battle against Kurdish rebels in Iraq 'Dangerous gambit' For a decade, Turkey's military fought the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which Ankara accuses of ties to the PKK. Earlier this year, the new Damascus regime, backed by Ankara, retook most of the SDF's territory.  "Israel has a very long history with the PKK. They definitely have relations with SDF," claims Serhan Afacan, head of the Centre for Iranian Studies, a think tank based in Turkey. "So Israel can always go and try to support these Kurdish groups in Iran." Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an address to Iran last Sunday, called on Iranians to rise up against the regime. "It is becoming clear that regime change is not an attainable goal just through bombing," says Asli Aydintasbas, a political commentator and Turkey specialist at the Washington-based Brookings Institution. "So I think Israelis are exploring other options, including ethnic competition domestically, working with ethnic groups, including Kurds." However, Aydintasbas warns that any attempt by Iranian Kurds to carve out an autonomous region would not only be met by strong resistance from Ankara, but also from Tehran. "The Iranian regime, though it's been unable to resist US operations and military strikes, still retains a significant amount of military power, at least enough to suppress its own people," she says. "This is a very dangerous gambit for all involved, including the Kurds." 'War with no winners': Middle East crisis enters a dangerous new phase Tensions with Israel Israel's support for Kurdish groups tied to the PKK has exacerbated Israeli-Turkish tensions, already running high amid Israel's war in Gaza and competition for regional influence. Analyst Ozel believes any Israeli support for Iranian Kurdish groups would fit with its long-term strategy for Iran and the wider region. "The Israelis would rather have a chaotic Iran than an Iran that has actually managed better, because no matter who runs Iran, I don't think they can play Israel's music," he argues. "But the real threat, as far as Israel is concerned, is to have a rival that has the weight to play the strategic game... which I think is one of the reasons why plenty of Israelis in positions of authority constantly attack Turkey these days, saying Turkey is the new Iran." Israel claims its attacks on Iran aim only to protect its security. However, Israeli support for Iranian Kurds would bring it into conflict with Ankara, a close Washington ally. For Trump, balancing Israeli and Turkish interests could be a major challenge in his campaign in Iran.

Jacob's unexpected encounter with God on the Temple Mount, his vision of the ladder, and his wrestling match before dawn uncover a timeless truth: light is born out of darkness and divine encounters often come when we least expect them. This episode explores: • The three daily prayers established by Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob • The meaning of Jacob's nighttime revelations and the gift of Ma'ariv • The inner transformation from Yaakov to Yashar El • The spiritual power of perseverance, delay, and walking with God through uncertainty • How Jacob's story becomes a prophetic blueprint for the destiny of Israel — and for every believer today You'll also hear important announcements: ✨A global open Fellowship on the first night of Hanukkah, December 14th ✨A US speaking tour this season ✨A powerful Torah message from Ari Abramowitz We dive deep into the Hebrew roots of darkness (shachor), seeking (shachar), and dawn (shachar), revealing how Jacob shows us to seek God precisely in the darkest moments. If you're navigating a season of darkness — spiritually, emotionally, or in the world around you — this episode offers hope, clarity, and a reminder that the dawn is already rising.

2 Chronicles 34 tells of Josiah coming to the throne of Judah at the age of 8 years old (BC 641). Verse 2 gives a wonderful testimony to his steadfastness. When he was 16 years old he commences his reforms with the destruction of the idols and the burning of the bones of the false prophets that had been prophesied 300 years earlier to Jeroboam 1, the first king of Israel, once they had split the kingdom at the time of Rehoboam (son of Solomon - see 1 Kings 13verses1-2). Verses 8-21 speak of the discovery, in the temple, of the scroll of Deuteronomy (possibly even the original in Moses own writing). This causes great concern when they read of the curses that would be sent upon them for their disobedience to God's laws. They were also at this time receiving the people's donations, which money was faithfully used in the repairing of the temple. Hilkiah, the high priest, and other officials went to the prophetess Huldah to ask what they could expect from Yahweh as punishment for their sins. Huldah's response was that judgment was coming, but would be postponed from Josiah's times until after his death, because king Josiah had been wholehearted in his worship of God.Hosea 2 tells us that because of the unfaithful behaviour of Gomer (as a type of the nation of Israel) Israel was no longer God's wife and the children would not be His people, nor would they receive mercy. When Gomer's lovers would no longer want to be with her she would seek the LORD her God, who would after disciplining her, receive her again, as God would the nation, whose typical example Gomer would follow. Yahweh in His kindness would allure her back to Himself, and once again woo her. Eventually Gomer would become a faithful wife - as too will Israel - and as a consequence blessings would flow. The land would be sown with the seeds of fruitfulness. Israel would once more receive mercy from the hand of their Maker and Husband. And the nation would become the people of God once more (see Romans 9verses20; 11verses13-16, 25-27). This of course a great parable about Yahweh's loving kindness and His restoration of His people to their LORD in faithfulness and truth in Messiah's kingdom

Garth Heckman The David Alliance TDAgiantSlayer@Gmail.com    Tomorrow I will be posting my Birthday numbers… Squat over 600, deadlift over 600 and Bench over 600…. Just kidding… Maybe 350…? Maybe But look for me on my social media accounts…      Episode 1528… yes that is correct.. with over 130K listeners just that I can track and on over 10 different radio stations and heard in USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Poland, United Arabe Emirtes, Czech Republic, Denmark, Indonesia, Iraq, Netherlands, Russia, XK, Australia…    A lot of people have reached out and wanted me to give my take on the War in Israel with Iran… as far as hard and fast details that are not tainted by the US media go to Tipping Point USA with Jimmy Evans and also Amir Tsarfati on Telegram…and make sure it is the official one and not a fake account… BUT here is my take - We understand that from here on out Israel will not lose another war until the battle of Armageddon when the whole world comes against Israel… Israel will cry out to God and Jesus will return on a white horse and crush the enemy…   But what I do know more than ever is we should be praying for the salvation of all those involved… yes praying for the salvation of the jewish nation and all Jews around the world but also praying for people and countries. Including Iran, Iraq and all of the middle east. Praying for Muslims that they might come to the full knowledge  and understanding  of who Christ is. That is what is most important. Thats my take.   But with that… it reminds me of Jonah. You know the story… (tell story)   When Jonah does return he does not preach the full extent of scripture…. He only tells them they are doomed for their sin. The city of Nineveh figures it out themselves… they repent. But here is the kicker… Jonah's actions did not match his heart. In chapter 4 Jonah laments that his worst fear actually happened…  Chapter 4:1 This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. 2 So he complained to the Lord about it: “Didn't I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. 3 Just kill me now, Lord! I'd rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen.”   Jonah understood Gods Holiness, he understood the price of sin, he understood Gods mercy and grace… What he didn't understand was the cost and ramification of his own sin.    Forgive our enemies is not natural… it has to be supernatural.  LOVE our Enemies is Transformational!

Welcome to The Times of Israel's Daily Briefing, your 20-minute audio update on what's happening in Israel, the Middle East and the Jewish world. Military reporter Emanuel Fabian joins host Amanda Borschel-Dan for today's special update. This morning, four female soldiers held hostage by Hamas for 477 days — Karina Ariev, Daniella Gilboa, Naama Levy, and Liri Albag — were released by the terror group after being paraded through a Gaza City square and made to participate in a demeaning ceremony before being handed over to the Red Cross. Hamas "gift bags" in hand, the four young women returned to Israel and were reunited with their families at the IDF base near Re'im, mere kilometers from the Gaza border. Fabian reminds listeners of Hamas's murderous October 7, 2023, takeover of the Nahal Oz IDF base that saw 66 soldiers murdered and seven female surveillance officers taken prisoner. We hear what we currently know about the physical health of the four released today and details from the handover. Fabian also updates us on Israel's response to Hamas's overt violation of the ceasefire-hostage release deal which should have seen female civilian Arbel Yehud -- and any other living female civilian and children -- released ahead of the female soldiers. For news updates, please check out The Times of Israel’s ongoing live blog. Graham E. Fuller specializes in long-range forecasting of geopolitics. In fact, Fuller is a former vice chair of the National Intelligence Council at CIA responsible for long-term forecasting. He also served as a CIA operations officer overseas for two decades, with much of his time being spent in the Middle East. He served as the CIA Station Chief in Kabul and is the author of such books as A World Without Islam (2010) and The Future of Political Islam (2003). He is a noted analyst on Islamist movements and continues to write extensively on issues pertaining to U.S. foreign policy, the Middle East, and geopolitics. Graham joined me for a conversation about Assad's overthrow and what it means for various geopolitical players including the U.S. Russia, Iran, Turkey, and the Gulf states. We ended up having a more broad discussion that led into many different areas including: - Explaining the phenomena that has come to be known as "Political Islam" sans the tabloid clickbait that has unfortunately something attended the non-academic literature on the topic - Graham's critique of John Mearsheimer's Realist school of thought in regards to international relations. Graham believes there is great value in Mearsheimer's analysis, but makes the case that Realism as a school of thought is too often mechanistic and deterministic in how it perceives the course of geopolitical trends - The U.S.'s endless "Search for Enemies" and the consequences that approach to foreign policy creates, in relation to, for example, the U.S.-China relationship - The question of HTS and its leader Abu Muhammed al-Jolani; how will the govern?; HTS's administration of Idlib; how al-Jolani is, in the immediate, approaching the West and Israel - Israel and Turkey's strikes in Syria; Turkey's geopolitical concerns over the Kurds in Syria; the far-right elements that have been unleashed in Israel, especially since the October 7th, 2023 attack and how that effects both Israel and the Middle East more broadly - And much, much more!

This week on the Mark Levin Show, once again, Kamala Harris prioritized her own political ambitions above all else. She takes 4-days to return to D.C. for a FEMA meeting after Hurricane Helene. But don't worry, she was briefed by phone during her West Coast campaign event. There's no excuse for Harris to be in Vegas raising millions, knowing a hurricane is coming. A leader isn't on the phone in the middle of a fundraising party. She takes 3 1/2 years even for a preposterously staged campaign photo-op at the border and then hilariously and cynically announces only she can secure the border. She's a joke. Hamas attacks Israel - Israel fights back. Iran attacks Israel – Israel fights back, yet the Democrats and the media say it's Israel who instigates. Tens of billions of dollars have flown into Iran by the Biden-Harris regime, they've coddled them. They created this disaster in the Middle East and Israel has one arm tied behind their back because of President Biden, Kamala Harris, and Anthony Blinken. The Longshoremen union strike has been suspended until January. Most likely, behind the scenes the Democrats told ILA president Harold Daggett to wait for this strike until after the election. Democrats didn't want costs to go up any more than they already have. Americans were getting angry. Finally, there's nothing new in Jack Smith's latest filing in the Trump election interference case. It's a prosecutor's story, allegations by a dishonest, rouge federal prosecutor. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, Hamas attacks Israel - Israel fights back. President Reagan announced the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) in 1983. Reagan was attacked by Democrats and Sen Joe Biden, who mocked him and said it was dangerous. Imagine if Israel didn't have the Iron Dome today. Sen Lindsey Graham calls in to discuss the Iran attack on Israel. Israel needs to do whatever the hell they have to do to defend themselves. Graham says he will do everything he can to give Israel more military support and will support an aid package for Israel. Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon calls in to explain that Israel is now preparing their response to Iran, which will be painful. They are now at war and will retaliate. Also, Trey Yingst joins the show to discuss his war coverage and his new book – Black Saturday: An Unfiltered Account of the October 7th Attack on Israel and the War in Gaza. Finally, the longshoreman bosses are attempting to cripple the economy with this strike. We can't have one union shut down the entire American economy, especially when we have people in the South who are fighting for their survival from Hurricane Helene. Antitrust laws need to be applied to unions. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
