Jen Psaki talks with former speech writers for President Barack Obama, Jon Favreau and Cody Keenan, about the significance of the Obama Presidential Center and how the messaging of hope and hard work contrasts with the bleak mood as Americans endure Donald Trump's corruption and mismanagement. Former President Barack Obama, in his remarks upon the opening of the Obama Presidential Center, tells the story of the origin of the now-famous quote, "The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice," from 19th-century abolitionist pastor Theodore Parker. Reggie Love, former personal assistant to President Obama, talks about the team of people who worked in the Obama adminiatration.  To listen to this show and other MS podcasts without ads, sign up for MS NOW Premium on Apple Podcasts. Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing the ongoing controversy surrounding the Epstein files, its blackmail, the political implications of Charlie Kirk's assassination, and the growing conflict between Israel and Iran. We'll also talk about the influence of powerful Israeli interests on American foreign policy and ask whether the United States is being drawn into another Middle Eastern war against the will of its own citizens (and at our cost, yet again).--https://www.youversion.com/bible-app

What if the biggest story in America isn't politics at all?In this episode of The Right Side:  After watching the massive UFC event associated with President Trump, Doug Billings realized the real story wasn't the fights, the celebrities, or even Trump himself. The story was the crowd. Why do America's media elites, Hollywood elites, and political elites seem perpetually shocked by election results, cultural trends, and the values of ordinary Americans?Doug explores the growing disconnect between the people who shape America's culture and the people who actually live in America.Drawing on his experiences growing up in Kansas City, years in education, and conversations with thousands of listeners across the country, Doug explains why millions of Americans are rediscovering confidence in their own values, their own observations, and their own common sense. This isn't really a story about UFC.It's a story about family, faith, patriotism, personal responsibility, culture, and why ordinary Americans are no longer willing to let elites define reality for them.Topics include:• The cultural significance of Trump's UFC event• Why media elites keep misreading America• The disconnect between Hollywood and Main Street• Family, faith, and traditional American values• Why ordinary Americans are pushing back• The Great American Pushback and the future of the RepublicThe story isn't politics. Send us Fan MailWhat We Love, What We Fear, What Comes NextAs America approaches its 250th birthday, Betsey Newenhuyse and I take some time on Beach Talk to reflect on what we love most about this remarkable and complicated nation. We talk about the ideals that have inspired generations of Americans—democracy, freedom of conscience, a free press, equal rights, and the ongoing work of building "a more perfect union." Along the way, we share personal memories, from patriotic songs and high school choir performances to family stories and reflections on the values that continue to shape our lives. But this conversation isn't just nostalgic. We also explore some of the deeper challenges facing our country today. Why have so many evangelicals embraced Donald Trump so enthusiastically? What does that reveal about the relationship between faith, power, and leadership in America? Drawing on the insights of writers and thinkers such as Pete Wehner, Kristin Kobes Du Mez, David Gushee, and others, we examine the rise of Christian nationalism and the choices facing American Christians in this cultural moment. We also discuss the importance of strong institutions, higher education, religious liberty, and the freedom to worship according to one's conscience. Add a few personal updates—including my upcoming trip to Costa Rica—and you have another thoughtful, candid, and engaging conversation with friends on the beach.More about Betsey NewenhuyseSupport the showBecome a Patron - Click on the link to learn how you can become a Patron of the show. Today on Uncommon Sense, we're discussing what may be the most consequential political moment of Donald Trump's career. With Trump's approval ratings slipping, the Iran conflict escalating, renewed questions surrounding the Epstein files, and the assassination of Charlie Kirk continuing to reverberate through the conservative movement, many Americans are asking whether these events are isolated, or part of a much larger story. In this episode, I examine the connections I believe may exist between these developments, including my view that the Epstein files may have been used as leverage against powerful political figures and that foreign interests have exerted significant influence over American policy in the Middle East. We'll discuss:Trump's declining support among his baseThe growing controversy surrounding U.S. involvement with IranThe unanswered questions surrounding the Epstein filesThe political impact of Charlie Kirk's assassination and its aftermathWhy I believe these stories intersect in ways the mainstream media refuses to exploreMy goal is not to tell you what to think, but to encourage you to question narratives, follow incentives, and examine who benefits from the decisions being made in Washington.--https://www.bible.com/

It's Friday, May 29th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus and Jonathan Clark 180 Christian families denied communal water in India More than 180 Christian families in 32 villages across Chhattisgarh State in central India have reportedly been denied access to communal water sources and livelihood opportunities for the past three weeks as punishment for refusing to leave their Christian faith, reports International Christian Concern. Many Christian families in the Antagarh region of the district have been barred from using community rivers, ponds, taps, and hand pumps. At the same time, Christians have been denied work under a government employment scheme.  2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted." According to Open Doors, India is the 12th most oppressive country worldwide for Christians. Trump's accelerating squeeze on Cuba The Trump administration is bracing for the potential collapse of Cuba's totalitarian government as early as this summer, and has war-gamed new military response plans in case the island descends into chaos, reports Axios. President Trump will keep pushing economic sanctions to try to strangle the regime in Havana in a slow-motion constriction. This methodical squeezing of Cuba's communist regime is also designed to buy time for Trump — who's now engrossed in peace talks with Iran — to eventually focus on Cuba and decide how to bring about change there. The Cuba operation aims to eliminate Latin America's source of Marxist agitation and anti-U.S. activism ever since Fidel and Raul Castro led their successful revolution in 1959. To bring Cuba to its knees this year, the administration first focused on the island's lifeline: Venezuela, which is 1,200-miles south, and its socialist dictator, Nicolás Maduro. Venezuela kept Cuba afloat with shipments of oil that helped power the country and gave it a source of export revenue. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi has thyroid cancer Former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer shortly after her departure from office earlier this year and is now receiving treatment, reports USA Today. Bondi, age 60, was fired by President Donald Trump in April but is set to return to the Trump administration to serve on an advisory committee on artificial intelligence policy as she battles cancer. Thyroid cancer results from malignant cells growing in a person's thyroid gland, the butterfly-shaped gland at the base of your neck that makes hormones, according to the Cleveland Clinic and Mayo Clinic. These hormones regulate how your body uses energy, including metabolism, heart rate and blood pressure. Jill Biden wondered whether Joe had a stroke mid debate Remember this pivotal moment in the 2024 presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump? BIDEN: “Making sure that we continue to strengthen our health care system. Making sure that we're able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I've been able to do with the uh, with the COVID, excuse me, with, um, with dealing with everything we have to do with.  Look, if.  We finally beat Medicare!” As First Lady Jill Biden watched her husband stumble through the most cringeworthy portion of his disastrous June 2024 debate, she wondered if he had unknowingly ingested drugs or was having a medical episode on live television. In an upcoming CBS News Sunday Morning interview she said this. JILL BIDEN: “As I watched it, I thought, ‘He's having a stroke!' And it scared me to death.” However, at the time, right after the debate two years ago, Jill Biden said this. JILL BIDEN: “Joe, you did such a great job! You answered every question. You knew all the facts.” In her new biography entitled, View From the East Wing, she was far more candid. She wondered, “Is he short-circuiting? Is this a stroke? I felt like we were watching an AI hologram of the man we knew, and the hologram was glitching. Has he been drugged?” According to The Atlantic, which has seen a preview copy ahead of the June release, Jill Biden wondered, “Will people watching assume this is how he is all the time?” Bidens fighting to squelch embarrassing audio recordings Gary Bauer, founder of American Values and the co-host of Family Talk, wrote, “Right now, the Bidens are fighting to prevent closed-door audio recordings of interviews Joe Biden did from being released to the public. Why? Because in those interviews Biden couldn't remember basic events in his life. He couldn't remember when he was vice president. He couldn't remember when his son, Beau, died. He couldn't remember the advice his generals gave him.”   Bauer concluded, “And we all remember what Special Counsel Robert Hur said. Hur did not charge Biden for keeping classified documents because no jury would convict an ‘elderly man with a poor memory.' In other words, Joe was not mentally competent to stand trial.” Teenage worker bees drops to lowest level since 1948 The number of teenagers working jobs this summer is expected to fall to the lowest level since 1948. The consulting firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas predicts teens will gain 790,000 jobs in May, June, and July. That's down from 801,000 last summer. The firm noted, “Rising inflation, climbing oil prices, and a broadly cautious hiring environment are expected to keep the 2026 summer hiring total well below historical averages as employers and consumers rein in spending.” Welsh preacher John Penry pleaded for Welsh evangelism before execution And finally, on May 29,1593, 433 years ago today, Welsh Protestant preacher John Penry appealed for Christian pastors to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Wales shortly before his execution under the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. John Penry wept for Wales. He noted that thousands of Welsh had never heard of Christ. He wrote, “O destitute and forlorn condition! Preaching itself in many parts is unknown. In some places, a sermon is read once in three months.” Penry proposed a system of lay pastors supported in part with voluntary gifts from the people. His attack on the neglectful behavior of the Church of England won Penry the undying hostility of John Whitgift, the Archbishop of Canterbury, reports the Christian History Institute. Having become a Puritan Separatist in his thinking, Penry could not accept a state-run system because, "The truth of Christ” could not be in bondage to an “anti-Christian power.” Because of such outspoken views, and his stern warnings to Queen Elizabeth I and her bishops, Penry had to flee. Because he dared to expose the Church of England for its neglect, John Penry was captured and treated to a travesty of justice. Some strong words of warning against the queen in his notebook were interpreted as treason. Archbishop Whitgift was the first to sign his death warrant. Penry was hauled off to be hanged on this day, May 29, 1593. A thin scattering of bystanders, none of them his friends, watched as the 34-year old departed this world at the end of a rope about four in the afternoon. He was not allowed to preach a final sermon. He had, however, written a lengthy letter to his four daughters named Deliverance, Comfort, Safety, and Sure Hope -- who ranged in age between 4 and four months. He implored them to follow the true faith. James 1:12 says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him." The artwork depicts two Japanese American children in World War II incarceration camps and originally included an informational panel about businessman Miller Freeman and his role in promoting anti-Japanese sentiment in the Pacific Northwest. After the mural's unveiling, Bellevue College removed the reference to Freeman, triggering public backlash and ultimately contributing to the resignations of then-president Jerry Weber and vice president Gayle Colston Barge. Now, as the mural is set for rededication six years later, controversy has resurfaced following a racist voicemail and renewed questions about why the college was slow to publicly address it. In this episode, Shigaki reflects on art, historical memory, institutional accountability, and why these conversations remain urgent today.Read: https://southseattleemerald.org/voices/2025/07/22/masked-men-are-detaining-people-when-will-washingtons-leaders-protect-usRead: https://nieman.harvard.edu/mark-trahant-wins-the-2025-i-f-stone-medal-for-journalistic-independence/Read: https://www.24thstreet.org/blog/2025/1/17/letting-goRead:https://www.amazon.com/Harbingers-January-Charlottesville-American-Democracy/dp/1586424017Read: https://www.mapresearch.org/2024-dei-report "Dismantling DEI: A Coordinated Attack on American Values"https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/01/07/these-companies-have-rolled-back-dei-policies-mcdonalds-is-latest-to-abandon-diversity-standards/https://www.chronicle.com/package/the-assault-on-dei  Chronicle of Higher Education https://www.courts.wa.gov/appellate_trial_courts/supreme/bios/?fa=scbios.display_file&fileID=gonzalezRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/obituaries/chinatown-international-district-activist-matt-chan-dead-at-71/Hear Rick Shenkman on the BBC Radio Program Sideways:https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001xdg0Read: https://www.thedailybeast.com/i-stuck-with-nixon-heres-why-science-said-i-did-itRead: https://www.washcog.org/in-the-news/your-right-to-knowRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/the-legislatures-sunshine-committee-has-fallen-into-darkness/Read: https://www.cascadiadaily.com/2024/feb/2...

That escalation turned deadly, with the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents—incidents now at the heart of legal battles and growing demands for accountability. But this is not the first time Minneapolis has faced the weight of national scrutiny. The city's response to the 2020 killing of George Floyd helped forge networks of activism, community defense, and political awareness that continue to shape how residents respond today.Marcus Harrison Green joins us to explore how that history prepared Minneapolis for this moment—and what the rest of the country can learn from a city navigating grief, resistance, and resilience in real time.Read: https://southseattleemerald.org/voices/2025/07/22/masked-men-are-detaining-people-when-will-washingtons-leaders-protect-usRead: https://nieman.harvard.edu/mark-trahant-wins-the-2025-i-f-stone-medal-for-journalistic-independence/Read: https://www.24thstreet.org/blog/2025/1/17/letting-goRead:https://www.amazon.com/Harbingers-January-Charlottesville-American-Democracy/dp/1586424017Read: https://www.mapresearch.org/2024-dei-report "Dismantling DEI: A Coordinated Attack on American Values"https://www.forbes.com/sites/conormurray/2025/01/07/these-companies-have-rolled-back-dei-policies-mcdonalds-is-latest-to-abandon-diversity-standards/https://www.chronicle.com/package/the-assault-on-dei  Chronicle of Higher Education https://www.courts.wa.gov/appellate_trial_courts/supreme/bios/?fa=scbios.display_file&fileID=gonzalezRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/obituaries/chinatown-international-district-activist-matt-chan-dead-at-71/Hear Rick Shenkman on the BBC Radio Program Sideways:https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001xdg0Read: https://www.thedailybeast.com/i-stuck-with-nixon-heres-why-science-said-i-did-itRead: https://www.washcog.org/in-the-news/your-right-to-knowRead: https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/the-legislatures-sunshine-committee-has-fallen-into-darkness/Read: https://www.cascadiadaily.com/2024/feb/2...

Saldaña, who previously worked with the United Farm Workers and has supported legislation to improve conditions for farmworkers, says she received a heads-up from the union's national office that difficult news was about to break. That news came in the form of a groundbreaking investigation by The New York Times, challenging Chavez's long-held legacy. The report details serious allegations of grooming and sexual abuse involving young women within the union movement—claims that are now reverberating across generations of activists. In a stunning development, fellow United Farm Workers co-founder Dolores Huerta, now 95, says she too experienced sexual abuse, became pregnant by Chavez and gave birth to two children, keeping it secret for decades to protect the movement she helped build. As these revelations surface, they are prompting difficult questions about accountability, and the future of a movement rooted in justice. In Episode 456 of The Andrew Parker Show, Andrew Parker delivers a wide-ranging and unfiltered analysis of two deeply troubling issues shaping American society: the politicization of education and the selective outrage surrounding death and public tragedy.Andrew examines how identity politics, ideological activism, and political agendas have moved from public discourse into K-12 classrooms and higher education, influencing how young Americans view truth, history, biology, and their own country. He questions what kind of citizens we are producing—and what the long-term consequences may be for civil society, national unity, and democratic institutions. The episode then turns to how society responds to death, asking why some lives and incidents spark national upheaval while others pass in near silence. Andrew explores how political narratives, media framing, and symbolism shape public grief, protests, and policy responses—and why the rule of law must remain central, even in moments of moral outrage. This episode challenges emotions, assumptions, and narratives on all sides, urging listeners to think critically about education, justice, and the values that hold a civilized society together.Support the showThe Andrew Parker Show - Politics, Israel & The Law. With Donald Trump already doubling down on the trauma and terror he is inflicting on the Minneapolis community with his federal ICE police force, he took a step further away from American values and the First Amendment with a F.B.I. raid on the home of a journalist, ostensibly to search for evidence in the prosecution of a suspected leaker of federal secrets. Jen Psaki reacts.Senator Elissa Slotkin organized a video of elected officials with military backgrounds reminding serving members of the U.S. military that they are obligated to disobey illegal orders. Donald Trump took the message personally and has been using the federal government to exact a vendetta against the people in the video ever since. Most recently that has meant Trump's weaponized Justice Department conducting "investigations." Senator Slotkin discusses with Jen Psaki.  MS NOW reporter Jillian Frankel reports live from the scene of a chaotic clash between federal agents and protesters in Minneapolis following reports by the city's social media account of "a shooting involving federal law enforcement."
