Say hello to Justin, well known for being one of the funniest copywriters out there. Post-divorce and some serious business evolution, he realized cracking jokes every minute didn't feel quite right. What's a funny guy to do when jokes have become part of the brand? Justin's here to school us on the art of rolling with punches, and embracing the fact that, like fine wine, we humans grow, change, and get better with time… Listen now! Can't-Miss Moments From This Episode:If you've been donning the disguise of the 'professionally accepted' you to lure in clients and earn respect… Justin and I are here to snatch that mask off. We're deep-diving into why, in a crowded ocean of competition, embracing your unique self is not just a power move but the ultimate marketing strategy... Plot Twist: forget creating something 100% unique – it's overrated (and doesn't really exist anymore). If that's been stopping you from getting yourself out there, Justin and I have some perspective that'll get you unstuck and moving forward with confidence… How often do we speak our minds versus crafting responses based on what we think others want from us? (If you claim to be 100% honest 100% of the time, I'd like to point out that your pants are on fire.) My story from my days waiting tables will open your eyes to what people REALLY want to hear… Mosh pit marketing: how a story I kept hidden for more than six years spilled out in a professional setting (hint: alcohol was involved), and changed everything about the way I do business... To be vulnerable, or not to be vulnerable? Where's the 'sweet spot' in opening up? Justin and I reveal how to find the fine line (and when to keep things close to the vest vs baring it all to the world)...This one is jam-packed full of advice. Don't miss out - listen now!Justin's Bio:Justin Blackman is a brand voice expert who's written for more than 429 people and managed to sound like every one of them. Thanks to the era of online business, there are some aspects of starting a business that can be glossed over in the beginning…particularly the parts that seem big and scary and overwhelming. Legal is one of those pieces new business owners can sometimes slide right past…or, sometimes, it can be the piece that stops them in their tracks before they ever get started. Ideally, we don't want to see either. Of course we want to tackle the legal side of things–early and well, when we can–but we don't want to be so scared of it that we can't peek through our fingers long enough to see the solutions. Legal isn't half as terrifying–or as complicated–as most beginner business owners think. And to prove it, I've invited a guest onto the podcast to chat about it: Bobby Klinck, my go-to online (and Harvard-educated!) lawyer with expertise in helping new business owners navigate the legal aspects of getting their business up and running. So take a deep breath, press play, and most importantly, DON'T PANIC! We're here to help! Do you feel like you're a square peg in a round hole as an entrepreneur? Many times, we think we have to get it all figured out right away. Then, we think we have to stay exactly the same as who we were the day we started. If our business doesn't look like it was supposed to look when we set out to start it, we view that as a failure. In today's episode, Katie Chase shares how her entrepreneurial journey revealed to her where her strength truly lies. Just because you start somewhere doesn't mean that's where you have to end. It's not a failure if you eventually realize that the business you've been building is not the business you should be working in. If you, too, feel that way in your business, then it's probably time to do a heart check and let Katie's story inspire you. In this episode, you will hear: Katie's origin story from motherhood to entrepreneurship. Her entrepreneurial journey and what she discovered along the way. Katie's financial journey and her ProfitHero experience. Why make a financial investment in yourself and your business? Her role now as an Integrator. You know those people whose brains never turn off? Who see every problem and come up with a solution? They know their strengths & can serve a LOT of different types of people? (I'd bet this might even describe YOU! Your brain won't stop creating!) Well - today I'm interviewing one of these people. Bobby Klinck is a colleague of mine in the online business space, and I highly respect him. He is a lawyer-turned-entrepreneur-turned-marketer-turned- business coach - turned back to lawyer. I wanted to share his story & his insights with you because Bobby did what Bobby does: 1. He sees a need or a hole in the market, and then uses his brain to fill & fix it. 2. He takes action on on his ideas quickly, in the most rebellious, honest, authentic way he can. 3. He evolves and iterates and keeps going to achieve his goals. The thing is, like me (and maybe like you), at some point constantly churning and solving and DOING becomes... UNSUSTAINABLE. I've watched Bobby's business from its start and have followed his journey closely because his capacity for ideas AND implementation has always been incredible... And in late 2022, he knew he needed to switch things up, get back to center, decide what was realistic for him, and pivot to a business model he could maintain... that makes him money AND brings him happiness. Because our conversation was SO long (he shares SO much wisdom woven into his stories & rebellious honesty) that I cut it into 2 parts. Listen to Part 1 to hear how how his business came to be (from Harvard law school to fancy lawyer-y jobs to online business coach!)... The evolution we make when we know our strengths... And what he did that always went against the grain to bring him success. In part 2 we dive into what made everything unsustainable & how to get back to center... PLUS a ton about how to clear up your messaging, how to lift off the weight of what "you're supposed to do", and how to create strategic & purposeful content! This is Part 2 of my interview with The Online Legal Guy, Bobby Klinck (though we're not talking much about legal stuff!) I wanted Bobby to share his story because he's a creative, intelligent guy who's brain never turns off! And in the middle of his business growing, growing, growing, he realized he was over capacity. He'd built a business that was successful, but it was taking everything out of him & his team. In Part 2, we pick up in March 2020, when his business is about to explode in popularity and growth - and the subsequent results of what that meant for Bobby & his team (and his clients!) (I'd bet this might even describe YOU! Your brain won't stop creating!) If you ever feel like the online world is UNSUSTAINABLE, you'll enjoy this entire conversation! Our conversation was filled with SO much wisdom woven into his stories & rebellious honesty that I cut it into 2 parts to make it easier to consume. Listen to Part 2 to hear about how his business blew up - then how he had to wrangle it back into control... What he's doing now that feels more "on center", PLUS a ton about how to clear up your messaging, how to lift off the weight of what "you're supposed to do", and how to create strategic & purposeful content! Email marketing has been shown time and time again to have the highest ROI of any digital marketing channel, yet many businesses and entrepreneurs do not prioritize it as much as they should. And there are those that do email marketing just to go through the motion without doing it in a strategic way and then wondering why there is no ROI or how to measure it.If you are in either of these boats, you will get A LOT out of this interview with Bobby Klinck, author of Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck, who will school you on everything you wanted to know about email marketing in this episode!Key Highlights[02:12] Introduction of Podcast Guest, Bobby Klinck[05:50] How Bobby Began Using Email Marketing[11:05] Shifting from Legal Industry to Marketing[17:13] How Bobby Finds Stories to Tell[17:58] Why Stories Are Powerful[22:00] How to Know If the Email is Impacting the Business In A Positive Way?[29:31] Why Email Is Stil the Best Platform[33:12] The CATCH Framework[39:15] Nurturer to Welcome[40:26] What Made Bobby Decide to Write A Book[47:37] Final Advice[51:17] Connect with BobbyNotable QuotesI think just a lot of stuff is recycled down once a thought becomes mainstream, everybody just sort of clings to it. I think it's always, you know, important that we have fresh ideas. But really, what I tell people is their stories everywhere. The key is to get in the practice of finding them. And you don't start with a story, your email start with what is the message or lesson that I want to get across? For most people, what I suggest is you're going to have a few different themes you're going to use over and over again, in your business and your message, whatever it is that you're talking about. Keep story journals about those things, and you don't write the whole story out. It's hard in this online marketing world where everyone wants quantifiable. Prove to me that this works right now. And this and I'm like, you can't necessarily do that. Because this is true marketing of building brand equity, building that type of thing. So that over time, you will ultimately have a brand where people just buy from you. And that's what you're shooting for.A really great framework to think about the email as an extension of a relationship as if it was in person. It's not an email address. It's an actual person on the other side of the email address. And how would you engage with them if you were in the same room with them?It is the only channel where you can really curate The messages like when it comes time to sell the messages you want people to receive in the particular order you want them to receive. That's what email and marketing are about, establishing that relationship.Understand that when you make the shift and start thinking about marketing the right way, like selling is just natural.Guest Links:Bobby Klinck's Website: https://www.bobbyklinck.com/Email Marketing That Doesn't Suck on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3wXK0oT [Affiliate]Learn More:Check Out All of My Podcast Episodes: https://podcast.nealschaffer.comJoin My Digital First Mastermind: https://nealschaffer.com/membership/ Learn about My Fractional CMO Consulting Services: https://nealschaffer.com/cmoDownload All of My Free EBooks: https://nealschaffer.com/freebies/Subscribe to my YouTube Channel: https://youtube.com/nealschaffe

Email marketing shouldn't be transactional. It's not about getting clicks, open rates, or even getting sales. Email is about building connections so it needs to be personal and consistently add value for your readers. In part 1 of my interview with Bobby Klinck, we talked about how to do email marketing differently from other entrepreneurs. In today's part 2, we'll be getting into actually writing the emails that build a connection with your audience. You'll learn:>> Addictive story-based email structure – how you can write emails with personal stories that still have a point>> What kinds of stories we should be telling >> Practical ways that you can collect your stories – big and small – so that you never run out of things to write about.LinksBobby's Book: Email Marketing That Doesn't SuckBobby's Email Marketing Resource HubBobby's Free Stuff: BadA$$ Online Marketing UniversityKATIE'S INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/katiewussow/KATIE'S WEBSITE: https://katiewussow.com/GET THE FREE 90-DAY PLAN TEMPLATE: https://katiewussow.com/plan

On today's show, I'm thrilled to welcome my good friend Bobby Klinck, a Harvard-trained attorney turned entrepreneur, mentor, author, and podcaster. He is the founder of BobbyKlinck.com, Principal of Klinck LLC, and host of The Certified BADA$$ Online Marketing Podcast. He helps entrepreneurs make sure the legal crap doesn't hit the fan while building raving fan bases. Today, he shares with us how he went from wantrepreneur to a thriving multiple six-figure entrepreneur. We'll get to know where Bobby comes from, and his entrepreneurial family background. He shares the thought process behind quitting his life as a Federal Prosecutor to become an entrepreneur. We had a profound conversation about marketing strategies, connections, life choices, happiness, wealth, and some sound legal and marketing advice. What You Will Learn In This Episode: - Who Bobby Klinck is and why his life story is so inspiring - What Bobby's first big mistake was as an entrepreneur and what he did to fix it - The difference between entrepreneurs that sell information vs. those who sell implementation - Why Bobby believes there is no such a thing as passive income in entrepreneurship - What we need to have in mind before starting a business Although Bobby could make half a million dollars a year as a salary, he decided to risk it all to become an entrepreneur. He had a successful career as a lawyer, but he had no time to enjoy his life and he felt that his life was controlled by everyone but himself. He realized that affluence is about him and his family being happy and making money while being present in his daughter's life. Welcome back to another episode of the Not So Wimpy Entrepreneur Podcast! Have you ever thought about creating a course? What stopped you? Feeling like no one would buy it? Teachers couldn't afford it? You not being qualified? I dealt with all those thoughts too, and guess what? None of them turned out to be true! I want to tell you the story of how I decided to create a course in the hopes that it helps you to create yours, and I've brought my friend Bobby Klinck along to help me. In this episode, we're switching things up, and he's interviewing me! We're starting back before I ever thought about creating a course and then going through what led me to create a course, what that was like, and what I learned along the way. Episode 85 Takeaways: + If people ask you a lot of questions about something, it might be a sign that you could create a course about it. + Just because something seems obvious to you, doesn't mean it's obvious to other people. + Your audience needs your help. + It's natural to experience imposter syndrome. + You don't need to write at a high academic level. + You don't need to be good with tech to launch a course. + Your audience needs you to go back to basics. + Don't base your price off of other people's prices. Base it off of your audience. + Get the right people in your audience and build relationships with them. Chatting with Bobby is so much fun. I hope that you enjoy getting to know him a little bit in this episode all about courses. If you've been on the fence about creating a course, I hope that my story is inspiring to you! If you are thinking about creating a course, I have something special to share with you. Bobby Klinck is a Harvard Law Grad turned online entrepreneur—but he's NOT your typical lawyer. He doesn't do suits, he hates legalese more than you do, and has a tendency to make lame pop-culture references and dad jokes. He's built a thriving online business by doing things a bit differently than other people... making the legal and business stuff simple with a focus on building real connections with real people instead of thinking of people as potential transactions. After trying the “secret” strategies all the “expert” online entrepreneurs were telling him to do, Bobby threw out the “online marketing” rulebook and started marketing his way… by giving, connecting with his audience, and building his brand. Do you feel like you’re a square peg in a round hole as an entrepreneur? Many times, we think we have to get it all figured out right away. Then, we think we have to stay exactly the same as who we were the day we started. If our business doesn't look like it was supposed to look when we set out to start it, we view that as a failure. In today’s episode, Katie Chase shares how her entrepreneurial journey revealed to her where her strength truly lies. Just because you start somewhere doesn't mean that’s where you have to end. It’s not a failure if you eventually realize that the business you've been building is not the business you should be working in. If you, too, feel that way in your business, then it's probably time to do a heart check and let Katie’s story inspire you. In this episode, you will hear: Katie’s origin story from motherhood to entrepreneurship. Her entrepreneurial journey and what she discovered along the way. Katie’s financial journey and her ProfitHero experience. Why make a financial investment in yourself and your business? Her role now as an Integrator. And he also has a writing workshop called Write More Personality-er, where he shows you 57 fun ways to make your copy a little less Ross and a lot more Joey. One of the reasons I wanted to have Justin on is that in becoming the voice guy, he had a unique journey that required him to ditch the voices in his head of doubt and confusion so he could actually step into his expertise - voice. In this episode, Justin shares candidly what he did to really own his voice and what you can do too to own yours. This is one of those episodes that will have you thinking differently about how you talk to your audience and how you want to share.

In this episode of Profits + Prosecco Podcast, I am so excited to welcome Bobby Klinck as a special guest! Bobby is a Harvard Law Grad turned online entrepreneur—but he's NOT your typical lawyer. He doesn't do suits, he hates legalese more than you do, and tends to make lame pop-culture references and dad jokes. I found Bobby through a webinar being advertised a couple of years ago. Since then, I've been following him and using his templates. Today, we will be diving into everything you need to know when it comes to the legal side of running a business! Some of the topics we go over include: Why you should treat your business whether it's online or in-person as a business, not a hobby. Bobby shares one legal obligation for running an online business. Understanding the cash flow in your business is critical to protect yourself from any unexpected expenses or costs. I hope hearing all about Bobby's incredible wisdom was helpful for you when it comes to the legal side of running a business. Remember, you can set yourself up for success or you can be on uncertain grounds with your business with a possibility of getting in trouble. That experience is very unpleasant and entirely avoidable. So take your business seriously!
