On this episode, Big Dave and Will Gottlieb dive into Joe Cowley's article stating that Artūras Karnišovas is having a solid offseason by simply standing pat. Is it better for AK to stand down until making a move becomes a must? Also, the Chicago Bulls could be in a position to trade down in the 2025 NBA Draft. What teams would be willing to move up to Number 12? Is getting back multiple picks and absolute must of the Bulls move back? Plus, what players should be on the Bulls radar if they do move down in the draft? Should they be looking for fit or best player available?
The Chicago Bulls' draft strategy takes center stage as reports suggest Egor Demin remains a top target. But what if he's off the board? Noe Essengue emerges as a potential high-upside pick, drawing comparisons to players like Al-Farouq Aminu and Tayshaun Prince. Trade possibilities loom large, with the Orlando Magic, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Brooklyn Nets all looking to move up. Could the Bulls leverage their position to acquire multiple picks or even land a player like Cam Johnson? As the draft approaches, questions arise about the front office's ability to capitalize on expiring contracts and stack assets for the future. Tune in for an in-depth analysis of the Bulls' draft options and potential moves that could shape the team's future.Podcast Links: https://linktr.ee/BullsCentralPodGet at us:Email: BullsCentralPod@gmail.comTwitter:@BullsCentralPodPhone: (773) 270-2799Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/chicago-bulls-central/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
The Brooklyn Nets could reportedly trade up for Jeremiah Fears, so Greg offers a possible trade back option for the Wizards. Greg also looks into possible deals for Washington's veterans (Kispert, Middleton, Smart) and offers his thoughts on reports that the Suns don't want Bradley Beal to return. Enjoy!
In this mock offseason, I analyze the Celtics' salary cap situation for their upcoming offseason and show how they could significantly reduce payroll and tax penalties while maintaining future draft assets. I also show how they could do it without using a cap space team like the Brooklyn Nets.
On this week's episode we welcome Nicolas Batum of the Los Angeles Clippers and Cam Johnson of the Brooklyn Nets. Cam joins at the start of the episode to discuss the New York Knicks firing head coach Tom Thibodeau and his thoughts on the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers. Then, Batum joins the show to preview the Finals as well before talking us through the rest of his career, including what it was like growing up in France and his experiences guarding prime Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and LeBron James at the beginning of his career. He also shares what he learned from Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge at the start of his career on the Blazers. Then, he discusses how the 2015 Warriors changed the game, and why he feels their small ball lineup extended his NBA career. He also shares very candidly why his Charlotte Hornets stint was difficult, the criticisms about his contract at the time, and how he feels Ty Lue and the Clippers saved his career. Lastly, he discusses his career on the French national team, the Olympics, and meeting Victor Wembanyama at the young age. Let's go!0:00 Intro0:17 Cam Johnson14:20 Nicolas BatumGAMBLING PROBLEM? Boomer loves to talk about ‘needle movers' in the playoffs. A caller has tix for a Broadway play tomorrow night, and his phone has to be locked away, so he can't watch the Knicks. Is the Stanley Cup the most recognized sports trophy? We took more calls from Knicks fans as they prepare for game 6 tomorrow night. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Knicks beating the Pacers. Boomer then tells the story of a man on the streets of NYC who just laid down in the middle of the road. We heard from Evan Roberts after the game and he said he's going to game 7 if there is one. We think he should sell it since he's a Nets fan. The Moment of The Day: Landry Shamet is interrupted by a voice postgame, was that KAT? In the final segment of the week, Tracy calls in to introduce us to her mom. We give our final predictions for tomorrow night's game 6 in Indianapolis. One has a Knicks win, one does not.

On this one, Will Gottlieb and Big Dave get into the Eastern and Western Conference Finals and how those series are playing out. Are they surprised at the outcome or is it playing out as they expected? Also, we dive into Joe Cowley's article that suggests Egor Demin is who the Chicago Bulls will target in the draft. Does this mean the end of Josh Giddey's tenure with the team? Plus, the Brooklyn Nets could be open to trading Cam Johnson for draft capital. Do the Bulls have anything they could give to aquire the three-point specialist?
On this episode host Pete Moore sits down with Spoonful founder Bradley Gifford, an entrepreneur whose discusses his fairly non-traditional path from digital marketing to healthy food innovator. He opens up about how a childhood wake-up call around his health spurred a lifelong passion for wellness, ultimately leading him to shed over 70 pounds and dive headfirst into the world of nutritious food. Pete and Brad explore the realities of launching a consumer brand, the structural challenges of modern food marketing, and the importance of genuine relationships—both with retail partners and the local community. He opens up about the discipline required to bootstrap a product-based business, the surprising gaps in the industry, and a recent investment from Pharrell Williams and the Brooklyn Nets ownership group. When it comes to marketing, Gifford mentions, "The trick is to tow the line from a positioning and a branding sense . . . where you're able to appeal to a wide variety of consumers, without compromising on any of the things that matter as a company. And that's really where your kind of magic can be found, and that's where Spoonful was born." Key themes discussed Challenges of healthy food accessibility and education. Brand differentiation in the competitive food market. Importance of community and local partnerships. Navigating premium pricing and brand positioning. Building relationships with retailers and customers. Funding, bootstrapping, and scaling a food startup. A few key takeaways: 1. Personal Health Journey Sparked the Business: Gifford's entry into the healthy food industry was deeply personal. After a childhood spent eating sugary cereals and developing high blood pressure at 12, he overhauled his lifestyle, losing 70 pounds. That made him passionate about making healthy food more accessible, enjoyable, and convenient—laying the foundation for Spoonful. 2. Gap in the Market for Healthy, Enjoyable Food: Working at the Dog Pound gym and later Spartan, he observed that even wellness-focused spaces lacked truly healthy, flavorful, and fresh food options. Many brands positioned as healthy didn't resonate with people who didn't already identify as “healthy” eaters. 3. Community, Accessibility, and Premium Positioning: Spoonful took a grassroots-first approach, focusing on being present in local cafés and community-centric spots rather than immediately trying to target big grocery chains. This emphasized deep relationships with partners, selecting venues with strong local reputations and limited healthy food choices—which allowed Spoonful to command premium pricing. 4. Building Brand Through Relationships: Bradley stressed the critical importance of face-to-face relationship-building in the early stages of Spoonful. Whether with café owners, staff, or customers, personal connections allowed for valuable feedback, trust, and loyalty. This also made community events and collaborations a key part of their growth. 5. Bootstrapping, Funding, and Thoughtful Growth: Spoonful was bootstrapped from the start, with a disciplined and selective approach to capital raising and expansion. Brad highlighted the challenges of working capital and the need for recurring revenue through B2B partnerships (like supplying offices.) He recently also secured investment from notable backers (Pharrell Williams and Brooklyn Nets owners), but also advocates founders rigorously vet growth opportunities, avoid overextending, and focus on sustainable, margin-positive deals. In this episode we are thrilled to be joined by NBA salary cap expert analyst Yossi Gozlan, making his third appearance on our podcast.Today we focus on the Mavericks' salary cap situation going into this pivotal summer where they will draft Cooper Flagg #1 overall and pivot their team building around him. Yossi tells us that the Mavericks will enter this summer slightly over the 2nd apron of $207.8 million, and will probably be looking to shed some salary so they can get under that figure. They may even try to dump further money so that they can get under the 1st apron threshold of $195.9 million. In all likelihood, they will at least be over the luxury tax threshold of $187.8 million, limiting their player acquisition avenues to the taxpayer mid-level exception, and trades. In order to gain access to the full mid-level exception, the Mavericks would have to shed enough salary to get under that luxury tax threshold, which may be difficult to do with only one team (Brooklyn Nets) possessing cap space to potentially take on contracts in a salary dump. We then discuss with Yossi whether it makes sense for the Mavs to prioritize their future with Flagg by trading Anthony Davis while his value is still high. We are all in agreement that while that is the wise decision, we do not trust Mavs general manager Nico Harrison to do it. With that in mind, Yossi walks us through avenues the Mavs can move around players on their roster to address their biggest needs this summer, namely a point guard. Yossi also tells us that while the penalties of the NBA's “Apron era” can be harsh, there are still avenues for teams to avoid the worst effects of it, specifically frozen draft picks. Finally, with Yossi being a Los Angeles resident, we get his perspective on how the vibe in the city has changed since the Lakers traded for Luka Dončić. He talks about how Luka reminds a lot of Lakers fans of certain Laker legends such as Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson. While we all lament the deal, we try to look forward to the new era the Mavs will be entering with Cooper Flagg. You can follow Yossi on X/Twitter @YossiGozlan. Hour 1 Al's off today so his meticulous show notes are also off for the day. The show starts with a lot of excitement about Knicks/Pacers which begins tonight. We're excited and the whole city is excited so let's go. We do a little preview talk as well. Jerry pops in for an update including a solid win by the Oklahoma City Thunder over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Yanks had a good win against the Rangers last night. The Mets continue to drag along. Soto continues to struggle and now everyone else as well. The hour ends with Brett from Long Island challenging Boomer to a race for reasons and a caller on Knicks/Pacers. Hour 2 The Mets are dragging right now behind Juan Soto who is still not finding his groove. Callers about being excited to be a Knicks fan after so long since their last great moments. A caller complains about all the hate dumped on the Nets. Jerry joins us and talks about the outlook for the Nets and why they were never able to capture the imagination of fans in NYC. Sal's back in hospital but it ain't serious. We end the hour with yet more Bill Belichick & Jordon Hudson discussion. Hour 3 The first segment is hodgepodge of Knicks, Tyrese Halliburton, Soto and even some stuff about the Nets. Jerry shows up to give us Knicks preview sound featuring choice quotes. Last nights Yanks and Mets games are touched upon. Nick Sirianni is asked about the possibility of the Brotherly Shove being outlawed by the NFL. Our last segment regards our Kickoff To Summer show. Tracey calls in and we contemplate having a sports trivia contest between her and Al Dukes. Hour 4 The first segment was full of talk about rumors about something going on with Soto. Is he not happy being a Met? An person claiming to be an old intern calls up to reminisce. We have a bit of a laugh with golf stories and such. Jerry's update isn't chock full of sports since we did that already. However, an interesting moment from Jeopardy last night and a moment of the day featuring Sal posting pics from the hospital. Last segment we talk the Knicks chances tonight.

Hour 1 The Mets lost to Boston, with much of the focus on Juan Soto's lack of hustle after hitting a single. Rumors suggest Soto is unhappy with the Mets, preferring the Yankees, and some in the organization are concerned. Pete Alonso also had a poor throwing error. Jerry's update covered the Mets' loss and Carlos Mendoza's discussion of hitting with runners in scoring position. Soto defended his effort when questioned about his slow start out of the box. Tyrese Haliburton expressed excitement about playing at MSG, despite an incident where Knicks fans threw trash at a Pacers fan, prompting Haliburton to invite the fan to Indiana for Game 4. Finally, the NFL is reportedly allowing players to participate in Olympic flag football in 2028. Hour 2 Boomer feels the Knicks are still disrespected despite being series favorites and second favorites for the championship. Gio believes the animosity is directed at the fan base, not players like Jalen Brunson or Mikal Bridges. Jerry provided an update, starting with Juan Soto's explanation for his slow hustle on a ball hit off the Green Monster. The "All The Smoke" podcast reportedly dislikes the Knicks due to their fans, though Brian Windhorst on the Dan Patrick show highlighted the Knicks reaching the finals, especially the Brunson storyline, as compelling. Shaq recalled David Stearns asking his preferred draft location, choosing Orlando for its warm climate. In a surprising twist, the "All The Smoke" podcast later praised the Knicks' organ player. Hour 3 Concerns are reportedly growing within the Mets organization about Juan Soto's unhappiness, which seemed evident in his performance against the Yankees. Calls poured in discussing Soto's struggles and attitude. Boomer also contrasted Caitlyn Clark as a "needle mover" with Soto as a "negative needle mover." Jerry then played audio of Pete Alonso's errant throw to Senga, and Frank The Tank had another outburst after the Mets' loss. The segment concluded with a cameraman from the Discovery Channel's "Storm Chasers," sparking Gio's desire to witness a tornado. Hour 4 Discussion centered on Juan Soto's "perks" with the Mets, leading to a tangent about the availability and use of "nudie magazines" at airports and in the WFAN bathroom. Jerry's final update included sounds of the Mets' loss in Boston, highlighting Soto's single after misjudging a ball off the Green Monster. Jerry also admitted Boomer's anti-Nets stance makes him root against the Knicks. Tyrese Haliburton expressed excitement for the MSG crowd. The "Moment of The Day" revisited the "nudie magazine" in the WFAN bathroom topic. The segment concluded with discussions about dinner plans and the guest list for the "Kickoff to Summer" show.

More Knicks-Pistons talk sets up the Celtics series. Boomer noted their poor record against top teams like Boston, leading to an angry caller accusing them of being Nets fans due to negativity. The bench will be key against Boston, as starters are even. A caller questioned Achiuwa's absence. Jerry's update featured Ian Eagle's call of Brunson's winner and Thibs' comment. Clippers-Nuggets are tied 3-3. 'Bad Tiki', A-I Rodgers, and A-I Deion pranked A-I Shedeur Sanders. Next hour's Jerry update will include their Kentucky Derby pick. A caller criticized Towns' inconsistency. Boomer needs a Celtics jersey for the freezer - who should it be?

Doing laundry for a single family can be enough trouble. How about a team full of professional athletes? In this episode, Mosh visits an NBA locker room to interview Joe Cuomo and Kevin Conwell, the Equipment Manager and Assistant Equipment manager for the Brooklyn Nets, to learn how they deal with thousands of pounds of gear each week–between jerseys, practice uniforms, shoes, and personal clothing–to make sure athletes can practice and perform at their best for the 82-game season. Joe and Kevin explain how they manage the preferences and personalities in a team full of athletes, how equipment managers across the country support each other on the road, and provide some practical tips from the professionals on how to get out tough stains, sweat, and blood while keeping clothes looking fresh. Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, are receiving attention, and a reporter obtained Belichick's emails via the Freedom of Information Act. Gio joked about Hudson's potential post-breakup career in bikini betting picks. They discussed the controversy surrounding a Braves reporter asking a girl for her number on air. Jerry's update covered the Mets' loss due to a Lindor error, the Yankees' win, and Trae Young's ejection. Evan Roberts is confident the Knicks will win their series. The Nets GM discussed their free agency targets. Shedeur Sanders' Steelers interview attire caused debate, which Kay Adams addressed. The Moment of the Day involved using the Chef IQ to check Boomer's fever. The show concluded with a discussion about Matt Martin's likely final Islanders game and how fans treated him, compared to Rangers fans and Chris Kreider, followed by talk about a 400+ lb NFL draft prospect.
Hour 1 Boomer is ill and his voice is weak after attending what might have been Matt Martin's final Islanders game last night, where they discussed his career. Before Jerry's update, a caller offered a snake-related throat remedy for Boomer. Jerry has the audio of the Mets' loss to the Twins due to a Francisco Lindor error and strikeout. The Knicks/Pistons playoff schedule is out, starting Saturday, Monday, and Thursday. Travis Hunter implied he'll only play football if he can play both offense and defense. Gio then shared the story of Rosie the turkey from Roosevelt Island seeking a mate in the city, leading to a discussion about catching turkeys and calls from those who have encountered them. Hour 2 Juan Soto noted he's being pitched differently without Aaron Judge batting behind him, which Gio sees as an explanation, not an excuse. Boomer viewed it as a compliment to Judge, not a slight to Pete Alonso, while Gio thinks sensitive fans are overreacting. Soto's presence benefits Alonso. Before Jerry's update, Gio reminisced about old wedding invites, followed by audio clips of Jerry discussing divorce. They joked about using a Chef IQ to check Boomer's fever. The Yankees won, and Matt Martin played his emotional final home game for the Islanders, with goodbye audio clips from various sports figures played. Finally, someone on X shared a Vegas flu story similar to Boomer's, and Boomer had a lunch meeting where Gustav Klimt was discussed. Hour 3 Wally Szczerbiak believes the Knicks should dominate their series, implying locker room issues if they don't. Gio thinks Karl-Anthony Towns has a big chance to prove his championship mettle and shed the "soft" label with multiple high-scoring, high-rebounding games. Before Jerry's update, they used the Chef IQ and found Boomer has a 102 fever, leading to a clip from 'Back To School' referencing Gustav Klimt, who Gio supposedly resembles. Jerry recapped the Mets' loss, Yankees' win, and NBA news. The hour ended with Gio discussing a Karen Read documentary on MAX. Hour 4 Bill Belichick and his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, are receiving attention, and a reporter obtained Belichick's emails via the Freedom of Information Act. Gio joked about Hudson's potential post-breakup career in bikini betting picks. They discussed the controversy surrounding a Braves reporter asking a girl for her number on air.
