August 22, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 14 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers on the heels of their Thursday night preseason game against the Carolina Panthers. The big topic coming out of the 2025 preseason finale is the knee injury sustained by rookie DL Derrick Harmon. Alex and I discuss how it sounds like the Steelers dodged a huge bullet with the Harmon injury based on the way he looked when he was carted off the field in the first half. We talk about the outlook for Harmon the next few weeks and also go over the other injured players on the Steelers as the team now gets ready for the start of the 2025 regular season in 16 days from today. Steelers CB Beanie Bishop Jr. did not play Thursday night against the Panthers, so we delve into the possible reasons for that surprise happening. We also go over the several other players that did not participate in the team's preseason finale. While the Steelers Thursday night game was sloppy and not overly entertaining, Alex and I still go over what transpired in all three phases. We start on the offensive side of the football and go through all of the position groups and discuss the performances of several different players. We then do the same for the defensive side of the football as well as special teams. Will the Steelers keep QB Skylar Thompson on their 53-man roster after his strong preseason showing? Will they trade him? Is sending rookie QB Will Howard to the Reserve/Injured list as a designated-to-return player the right move for the team to make? We discuss those several questions and go over a few other decisions the team has when it comes to potential trade candidates and use of the Reserve/Injured list. Is second-year DL Logan Lee a lock to make the 53-man roster this year like several believe? Alex and I discuss his roster hopes in this show and also talk about the preseason showing that rookie OLB Jack Sawyer had and even it was disappointing overall. Who won the punter battle this summer? Alex and I aren't really sure which way that will go but we do have some thoughts on the matter. The Steelers have a few interesting roster decisions to make now that their preseason finale against the Panthers has taken place. We go over the players who seem to be on the roster bubble right now with the start of the regular season now less than three weeks away. This 89-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer a few questions from listeners at the end of this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. August 20, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 13 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the recent transactions made by the Pittsburgh Steelers that included the team parting ways with rookie undrafted free agent WR Roc Taylor. We go over why Taylor might have been jettisoned a few days ago. The Steelers had free agent WR Gabe Davis in for a second visit on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss him reportedly leaving Pittsburgh unsigned once again. We address how Davis would fit with the Steelers if he is ultimately signed and what a contract for him would look like. Ahead of the team's Thursday night preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers, Alex and I go over the health of the Steelers 91-man roster. We discuss a few players we are hoping to learn more about when it comes to their injuries by the time the weekend is over. Steelers DT Cameron Heyward was back in team drills on Tuesday, so Alex and I discuss that big news as the team prepares for their final preseason game. We also talk about how Heyward, OLB T.J. Watt, QB Aaron Rodgers, and WR DK Metcalf are all scheduled to sit out Thursday night against the Panthers. Will the Steelers play CB Jalen Ramsey, CB Darius Slay, CB Joey Porter Jr., and S DeShon Elliott against the Panthers? Steelers HC Mike Tomlin sure made it sound like they all would during his Tuesday press conference. Alex and I discuss whether Tomlin will change his mind when it comes to those four players by the time kickoff rolls around. Alex and I also recap the few other minor things that Tomlin said on Tuesday. With the final preseason game now on tap, Alex and I look at a few players worth watching Thursday night when it comes to potential spots on the 53-man roster not deemed 100 percent secure. As part of this discussion, Alex and I go down a rabbit hole when it comes to the punter battle the Steelers need to conclude soon. Later in this show, Alex and I roll through our updated 53-man roster predictions with two preseason games now in the books. We discuss how there only seems to be a few questions regarding the initial roster right now and how players needing to go to Reserve/Injured as designated-to-return could shape a few final decisions. We also discuss how WR Scotty Miller might be used as a final roster manipulation piece should the need arise and why. This 90-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer a few questions from listeners at the end of this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. August 16, 2025 - Season 16, Episode 11 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Sunday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right to discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers on the heels of their Saturday night preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers After some initial overarching thoughts on the second preseason game, Alex and I roll through the players who did not play against the Buccaneers due to rest or injuries. We also go over the few injuries the Steelers did sustain in their 17-14 loss, which HC Mike Tomlin highlighted during his postgame press conference. Alex and I then get into breaking down the Saturday night preseason game based only on the television copy, and we start on the offensive side of the football. We discuss the play of quarterbacks Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and Logan Woodside and how each threw interceptions. We roll through all of the position groups on offense and discuss snap totals, the running game, and the play of RB Kaleb Johnson and WR Roman Wilson on Saturday night. We discuss the offensive line rotations used against the Buccaneers and the sloppiness that came from the second team unit. We also discuss when WR Robert Woods saw action Saturday night and what that could mean for him. Moving forward in this preseason game recap, Alex and I go through all of the position groups on defense. We discuss the play of the defense against the run and the pass on Saturday night and how rookie DL Derrick Harmon performed. We talk snap totals on the defensive side of the football and what happened on the two touchdowns allowed to the opposing offense. Alex and I highlight some special teams play from Saturday night and how DL Logan Lee filled in admirably as an emergency long snapper against the Buccaneers. We make sure to hit on the punting battle between Cameron Johnston and Corliss Waitman in this show as well. The Steelers have a few interesting roster decisions to make still ahead of their preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. We go over the players that seem to be on the roster bubble right now with the start of the regular season now three weeks away. This 91-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap, and we make sure to answer a few questions from listeners at the end of this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
