Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are one of the most revolutionary concepts to be successfully implemented using blockchain technology. Smart contracts are used to operate DAOs. Their financial transactions and rules are stored on a blockchain, eliminating the need for a centralized governing authority—hence the terms "decentralized" and "autonomous." In other words, they are member-owned communities without centralized leadership. MANTRA DAO is one of the most successful DAOs. It is at the forefront of providing DeFi services such as staking and lending, among others. Web2 is the Internet era defined by products and services from large centralized companies aka FAANG (Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google). Those platforms invest significantly in sales and marketing teams as part of their GTM (go-to-market) strategy to generate leads and acquire & retain customers. One of the big problems with Web2 is that the vast majority of accrued value goes to the platform itself, not to the creators who are doing the work and thus should be earning that money. Web3 gives the power back to the creators. It leverages decentralized technologies to bring the users into the center of decision-making processes. That is why a new approach to marketing is needed in the decentralized world. While some conventional customer acquisition techniques may still be relevant for Web3 projects, the introduction of tokens and new organizational structures like DAOs (decentralized autonomous organizations) requires us to rethink go-to-market strategies as well as initiatives for building communities and generating revenue. I.R.L. By: Chris Tse In real life you are aging at the rate of a short-lived sitcom and the only kind of loneliness worth laughing about is throwing out half a frozen meal for two because leftovers are never funnier the next day. In real life there is no such thing as a gritty reboot — it's just fucking gritty all the time, mate, because your best-laid plans are always someone else's chance to crash a car into the crowd at a men's rights charity concert. In real life the nice guys pull out of the race when their tires are slashed or they turn back because they think they left the iron on and no one adheres to sports film clichés anyway —  we're all selfish and we want that trophy. In real life you'll never make it out of your homophobic small town alive, so your left hand begs for water while your right hand swings an ax your left foot drags a church bell while your right foot taps — S.O.S., S.O.S., S.O.S. When we think of successful people, astronauts are often fairly high on the list. Chris Hadfield flew on two space shuttles and commanded the international space station. Here’s here today to share wisdom from his success that will help all of us us, right here on Earth.   Guest: Astronaut Chris Hadfield Author of the New York Times Bestseller: An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth: What Going To Space Taught Me About Ingenuity, Determination, and Being Prepared for Anything* “So many people in life, maybe without even acknowledging it to themselves, let fear dictate a lot of their decision-making.” -Chris Hadfield Some keys to balancing sweating the small stuff and avoiding micromanagement Visualize it going perfectly Visualize failure before it has happened What’s the most likely 10 things to go wrong? Let’s simulate them and figure out how we will react to them Then run the simulation again to find the best plan and change behavior Aim to be a zero Begin by soaking up what’s going on and seeing what’s happening Recognize the necessity to become educated and understand the subtleties of the environment How to be successful at work and have a personal and private life that is successful and balanced Clearly understand what people are trying to accomplish in a family Make nobody’s sense of self worth dependent on anyone else’s identity The good intentions of the day are always often sacrificed on the altar of reality How successful people deal with the “what’s next?” question “If I had ever said to myself that the only part about this job that I like, or that is worthwhile, or that is satisfying -- is spaceflight, then I would have hated my life.” -Chris Hadfield What really matters is what I am doing today Question: How will you define success today?
